Visit #2 at this location for the recent holiday weekend with my little one. Service was great! Food was up to par as usual. The ambiance was lively but not too busy since we didn't have to wait to be seated despite coming in right at the lunch hour on a Sunday. The only thing was that they apparently raised the prices for everything since it was a holiday and the weekend. We were notified prior to ordering that an extra $5 was added per person for Mother's Day. You'd think they would do the opposite for the mom's at least, but that wasn't the case. Otherwise, I know we'll be back again whenever we crave AYCE kbbq and hot pot since we do pretty often.

What a girls night dinner! I didn't really know what I was expecting. I thought it would be a quick in and out dinner. And boy was I wrong! This meal is an experience! Kelli our server helped us navigate Kpot and how to order. It can be a bit complicated for first timers, like myself. You can order meat to cook yourself using the BBQ round table, broth, or both. I highly recommend the short rib. Delicious! Be fair warn those with their eyes bigger than their stomachs. KPOT has a waste policy. Meaning they charge you $13.99 per pound of meat that you don't eat.

It's the best of both worlds. We got both bbq and hotpot for the table. The herb soup base is the yummiest. We also tried mushroom soup, miso, and spicy tom yum. All the seats are booths. Comfortable and spacious. The interior is pretty large, never feels cramped. There is a small hot bar serving fried food: fries, fried chicken, crawfish, egg rolls, fried wonton chips, etc. The sauce bar offers 12 sauces and shows recipes of different sauces to make. We really liked our server. He was great! Ample parking. The drinks are ok.

Connor was an excellent server. The food was fresh and delicious. Our table was big enough with plenty of napkins. The temperature and music level was good. We had a nice birthday celebration. Photos taken after we started eating.

Cute self portrait our server Achi drew on our to go bag!

Was craving hotpot but didn't want to drive north to Soupleaf without a reservation. I've been meaning to try Kpot for awhile so finally decided to give it a shot. I did hotpot only so I can only speak to that. It's all you can eat, similar to Soutleaf, except all the hotpot stuff (meat, veggie, noodles, etc) you order from your server. There is a buffet station that has banchan style sides as well as some hot items (crab Rangoon, egg rolls, chicken wings, fries and a mixed seafood boil) as well as a sauce bar and some fresh fruit and dessert. I have to say it really exceeded my expectations. I thought it was going to be just "okay". But the quality of everything was really great. Even the hot food station which could have easily been an afterthought was awesome. The chicken wings are hot, crispy and big. The seafood boil was maybe the most surprisingly tasty part! Mussels, shrimp, crawfish cooked in a tasty almost viet-Cajun sauce. All of the hotpot ingredients were high quality and they had all of the vegetables and other sides that I like. The broths were flavorful and tasty. But I gotta say the best part was our server Achi. She was probably the sweetest server at any restaurant I've ever had. Enthusiasm that didn't feel fake or forced, super friendly and attentive, and she even drew cute little cartoons on our to go bag and receipt. If you get her consider yourself lucky. I'd come back here just for her!

I do not really know how to explain the KPOT experience. I have never done something quite like it before. Have you ever wanted all you can eat meat, but you cook it yourself? Have you ever wanted to man a large stovetop while eating a meal? That's what KPOT is all about. I went as a plus one with my girlfriend for her friend's birthday, and I was more of an observer than an active participant in the process. Steak, chicken, and just about everything in between was up for grabs to be cooked. When you sit down, you are handed a menu that explains what you can order for both the hot pot and the Korean BBQ. We opted to do both. I did not really enjoy the hot pot personally, but that is more of a me issue rather than a knock on the hot pot itself. While everything is getting squared away, you have access to their buffet, which includes different sauces, tempura chicken, fruit, and other small snacks to balance out all the hearty meat that is about to be cooked. The KBBQ was a pretty cool experience. The chicken and steak were both done well by my girlfriend's friend's mom, who was cooking for the two of us, especially when paired with the sautéed vegetables on top. There were a lot of options to choose from, and I was glad that everything we tried was solid. I will warn that they weigh every piece of uneaten food and charge you for it. Do not eat half of your meal and expect to pay the normal price, because they will charge for what you left behind. It is not my typical style of meal. Still, it was something different and more hands on than what I am used to. RIYL: A home cooked meal, but not at home and it costs more

So many options to choose from from veggies, and seafood to thin sliced beef and pork this place had all the things. large sauce bar with veggie egg rolls, fruit, crab puffs and more. our server liam was on point, enthusiastic through the whole service. He was kind and checked on ur frequently and kept our grill changed out / clean with out having to be asked. You have to come here when you have time as you will be cooking your own dinner. I was a bit confused why all the sauces would burn if the meat had it on it before going on the grill so we opted to grill the meat then lather in the sauce afterwards. I was happy to find out when you do both the hot pot and k bbq as someone who is pescatarian you don't get the additional 5$ up charge. 10/10 definitely would come back.

This place was decent. I'm conflicted on the number of stars though, I really want to give it 4 stars but some things are holding me back. There were some really good meats like the shrimp, hanger steak, beef tongue, k pot pork belly. I think what threw me off was charging for a box. I'm someone who hates wasting food in general so I paid $8 to take the leftovers back. I understand why they do it, so they don't have people abusing it and taking a whole meal home but I wonder if it actually ends up costing them more due to waste. Another item holding me back is, Instead of all the banchan in small plates, they had them in a community section for you to take. I loved their fried chicken wings but the rest of the banchan was underwhelming. And they didn't have fish cakes. :( All in all, it was alright. I may or may not return. Maybe if a friend wanted to come, then I might.

I first came here when it first opened and it was pure chaos. I didn't want to review it then and waited for another time. This location is way down south. Not convenient for me but I've been wanting to go back. Finally got the chance this past week for lunch. We were promptly seated. The waitstaff seemed very new. Slow. Not experienced and not caring. Only the manager was trying. Tried to overlook it and went to get the apps. Still long lines for the sauces. That was part of the chaos on day 1. Shining Star was the wings. Super fresh today. I could have only eaten that. We picked our broths n my friends lot wasn't boiling at all. They had to fiddle with it. One complaint of kpot is that items are so small. You literally have to order triple or quadruple portions to get enough esp bc they don't come back to get your order. The items r fresh though but for hot pot I'd go to Soupleaf where it's ample and fresh. For bbq I'd go to kbbq or Gangnam nearby for better meat quality. So that's the issue with this place. Did we enjoy it? Yes? But for avid Ayce hotpot n bbq goers like me it's lacking. In Austin and definitely in Texas. There are just so many better options out there. For the price point especially And please have cabbage. Makes for the best wrap. Not just Napa cabbage. Just my tip bc it's great for hotpot n Korean bbq. Otherwise again service was slow n inconsistent. And just wish they would fix these issues and make it better. Bc up north so many better places

Our server Achi drew this for us. Its me and my hubby. So cute.

This place has it all and its a great place to go with a group or just a couple. The ambience is lively and colorful. They have a karaoke stage that lights up by the front entrance and the bar right across. There is plenty of seating on both sides of the restaurant. They are booths with the grill in the middle to cook up all the yum yums and they have the hot pot as well. You can opt in for both hot pot and bbq or just choose one. They have these tasty new options for drinks that are called fish bowls. We got the one called granite and it was delicious. The fish bowls is $25 and you can share it or be greedy lol The server will explain the options and how everything works if its your first time there, so don't be intimidated by all the options. Its worth it. You have meats, vegetables & seafood options for Bbq. For hot pot you choose your soup base, then you can choose your preferred noodles, then you choose plenty of meats, vegetables, seafoods and sides that go in there as well. They have a little list of dessert and specials and new options. They have their sauce bar where you can get any type of sauces you want and make your own concoction. Mine is brisket sauce with a bunch of minced garlic and green onions to dip your meats and anything else. Service is excellent and done with a smile and personality. Our server was Achi (from Thailand ) She even brought over a sauce for us to try and the guys loved her suggestion. She was always checking and kept the table clean and organized and had everything cooking. She even drew us as a cute little cartoon on a small paper. I liked that extra that she offered. I definitely recommend this spot. Everything is clean and in order. The bathrooms also kept clean. This is a spot that we bring friends and family from out of town and even those that have never had an experience like this.

I took my parents out for late lunch 2pm to KPoT. My parents and I love KPoT! In our opinion this place is the best place to get Korean bbq and hot pot. We always get the dinner package so we can get the beef short ribs which is our favorite. Crown daisy with hot pot is a must. All of the beef meat for hot pot was great except for the beef tongue. We had the beef tongue before and it was great. This time around it's super chewy and uneatable. The octopus, scallop, shrimp with head on, and mussels was good with the hot pot. The crab was mushy and not great. For the broth my go to is the herb broth. Creamy and so good! We also go the tom yum broth and that was flavorful too! Noodle- udon is the way to go! KBBQ: KPoT bf short ribs- 5/5 Pork belly- 2/5: super fatty Beef bugulgi: 4/5 on the sweeter side by pairs really well with the pickles radish (you can get them at the sauce buffet self serve area) Bf Spicy bulguli: 1/5 mushy and not good Spicy pork: 1/5 not good Hanger steak: 4/5 my parents enjoyed it. Steak: 5/5 yummy King mushroom: 1/5 super chewy Kimchi: 1/5 not sour and super salty- super disappointing Pickle radish : 5/5 delicious! Highly recommend with KBBQ Cucumbers kimchi: 1/5 salty Crab Rangoon: 5/5 cream cheese is yummy and the perfect amount of cream cheese to wonton ratio They have a QR code to scan menu at the table. I notice some changes where they didn't give us the tablet to self order but our waiter would take our order instead. Our waiter, Karl was really attentive and provided the best service I've ever had at KPoT! He was really great and had all of our orders put in at once. He changed out the grill several times to prevent smoking. Super friendly and you just get this good vibe from him. Thank you for making our dining experience so special. I hope we get him again at KPoT! Service was fast. Everything we order came out quickly so we can eat. 5/5 Would I recommend KPoT: yes! It's the only place I enjoy hot pot and k bbq. The k bbq is not the best in the world but it's a great option to do both. Hot pot is top of what austin offers. Love the broth and it's flavorful!

    How much it's for lunch?

I believe lunch price is $20.99/person

Would this place be good for a 4 year old and 18 month old, or a death trap?

We brought our 4 year old but had many adults attending to him. The hot pot is above the table and is very hot to kids and the grill is also something I'd have to make sure he didn't get rowdy around. If you don't have an attentive group of folks, I…

    Is it family friendly?

Yes!! It's quite busy so not easy for larger parties but it's a lot of fun!

When you arrive, everybody is so nice you give them your name and they get you seated right away. I ordered a drink called a signature tingling Daisy and it was so good. I definitely could've had so many but I was driving so you gotta pace yourself. We started off with the soup dumplings, which are just phenomenal. It's a must when you go. Also, for appetizers, we got the spicy cucumbers which were divine and a hot and sour soup, which was perfectly balanced and not watery. We also got a beef fried rice and let me tell you that rice is so soft and delicious. You literally dream about it the next day. I also got the pecking duck which is delicious there the skin is nice and crispy and the meat on it taste so good. We also got the Kung pow shrimp with cashews, which was delicious and the pieces of shrimp were gigantic. We also got the green beans which is were delicious. I love ordering green beans when they're cooked just like the ones I posted in the photo. Then for dessert, we got the chocolate mousse which is that little dog cake. I know it's so cute and they made it a little hard to eat because you feel bad in a weird sense. It was delicious now I will say when cutting it and realizing the inside had a raspberry filling, made it a little more crazy cause it looked like blood, but it was still so good. This place is definitely an awesome staple and a must visit when you're in town or just always go and have food there whether it's date night or friends catching up or anything in general even on your own.

This could have been my mistake but I don't remember any choice in the matter. The greeter wasn't very friendly and borderline surly when I asked for more details about how to not book the bar in the future. Didn't get any explanation but fortunately, we won't have to worry about that... The food was just awful. We ordered 3-4 types of dimsum (onion pancake, soup dumplings, chu shou, fried shu mae) and three entries (orange beef, eggplant and their take on ma pao tofu) for the best tasting experience. The curry sauce for the onion pancake was probably the most flavorful dish of the night sadly. The onion pancake was way way over fried-- hard as a rock. If that's their take on onion pancake... well, it's just wrong. The soup dumplings were passable but a bit doughie and the filling was full of a lot of noticeable coagulated fat -- not clear and broth-y, with light surface droplets of oil as all delicious broths. My wife enjoyed the chu shou -- I found the filling much too overcooked and tough -- difficult to eat with chop sticks. Like a tough, overcooked meatball. The fried shu Mae were just plain inedible. My wife and I each ate one and left the rest. The included sauce was basic and too heavy. And again, over fried. There was a huge delay between our apps and our mains, like 40 minutes or so. Various bar staff apologized. It wasn't a big deal, we were in a good conversation and they were super busy but our mains were not at all worth waiting for. Small portions. WAY over sauced. WAY too salty. WAY too sweet. No distinct flavors at all. The ma pao didn't seem to have any Szechuan pepper at all. How do you miss that ? The plating of the eggplant dish was really creative but I don't eat with my eyes and it came with no instruction -- my first bite was just flavorless steamed eggplant cube -- second was mixed with one note sauce. One of the better mains IMO but it was still gloopy and pretty gross. Wife did not enjoy it. The orange beef was essentially just six or seven cubes of tough, fatty beef covered in over-the-top bitter orange peel. We each had a cube and left the rest. Honestly, give me Panda Express any day over this abject failure of a restaurant. Austin needs more Chinese but if it's anything like this place, forget it. I'd rather spend a 4h round trip to Houston and go to even a mediocre Chinese restaurant than endure another meal at this place. What a waste of $165. Edit: I wish I was making this up but I literally had to pull over to throw up on the side of the road on the way home. The food did not sit well with me. I have no underlying health conditions, am not on any medicine that would have this as a side effect and only shared one beer with my wife. It was just a very, very, disappointing and gross meal.

My boyfriend and I came here because of the great reviews, but unfortunately our visit was nothing like we expected. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The host literally pointed to our table instead of walking us to it, which immediately felt unwelcoming. No one introduced themselves or even told us who our server was, so we never knew anyone's name throughout the entire meal. Throughout our meal, no one checked on us even once, and we had to flag our waiter down multiple times whenever we needed something. Plates and drinks were also repeatedly slammed down on the table, which came across as rude and unprofessional. Every interaction felt rushed, and the staff acted like they were annoyed we were there. The customer service was awful, and it made for a really unpleasant first experience. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

I appreciated the quirky ambiance and unique menu combining traditional Chinese dishes with a Texan fusion flair. We ordered the hot and sour soups to start , followed by the incredible brisket fried rice, kung pao chicken, and a side of green beans. The soup was served hot and was absolutely delicious. The brisket fried rice was phenomenal and should not be missed. Kung pao chicken was okay (I didn't like that they deep fried the chicken). Green beans were flavorful. Service was good but you have to ask for utensils if you can't use chopsticks and it took them a while to get us spoons/forks to eat with. Overall a solid meal and good experience. I'll be back!

When a server finally came over, she walked us to a table, slammed the menus down, and walked off. Rude for no reason. Food was just as disappointing. The rangoons were good. My husband wanted orange chicken but it wasn't on their brunch menu, they were kind enough to still make it, which we appreciated. It was good, but everything else? No. The "mala fried chicken" was basically chicken nuggets with steamed rice, the menu said it had chili oil, I expected it to be drizzled over the chicken but instead was sitting at the bottom of the bowl. I didn't notice it till the end and since I thought they had forgotten it, I asked for some and got just the oil. Idk if that's the way they do it, but usually when I ask for chili oil I receive the chili flakes with the oil. Anyways, it was mid. But the brisket fried rice..... now, that had zero flavor. We barely touched it, left the whole thing behind. Between the attitude and the food, it's a no for us. Wouldn't come back.

Wildly uneven. My…read morereview is based on takeout only; I've never dined in. Preparation time has been prompt. I've ordered four times. The first time, I got the Moo Shu Chicken. It was divine! As good as or better than any Moo Shu I've ever had (and big portions). The second time, I ordered the Sauteed Flounder with Ginger Sauce, but instead I received the Crispy Flounder and Veggies. I don't generally eat fried fish, so this was really not at *all* what I wanted (though in the end I did eat it, rather than go through the effort and delay of sending it back). The third time, I ordered the Sauteed Flounder with Ginger Sauce again, along with the Egg Drop Soup. This time, I got what I ordered, and it was all pretty good -- nothing earthshaking, but satisfactory. The fourth time I ordered the Moo Shu Chicken and the Bean Curd Vegetable Soup. Again, the Moo Shu Chicken was fabulous. However, the soup was crazy salty! Like somebody misread the recipe. There's no way the cook ever tasted it, or they wouldn't have sent it out. And I don't want to go into graphic detail here, but it messed up my digestion for the evening. Bottom line, I should give it two stars. However, I think I'll probably go back -- although I won't risk ordering anything other than the Moo Shu Chicken and the Egg Drop Soup -- so I'm giving it three stars.
