Oribello's is a solid 5* to me, but read on to understand what you're getting into by going here. So first off, I've been only a handful of times, but the owner Darrell has taken the time to get to know me and greet me when I come in. I notice him talking to a lot of the guests, and he's an owner who actually cares! The same thing has happened with one of their servers, and after I was recently in an accident, he came up to my table telling me he was glad I was OK. Definitely a very Cheers-esque vibe you really don't find everyday. As for the food, well that's where it gets weird. I first found this place because they had a birria pizza, and you'll see pics on Yelp and Google of this pizza. It was amazing. And sadly, you'll realize I'm using past tense. Their pizza oven was old and broke and they decided to not replace it. So Oribello's no longer serves pizza. It kind of makes sense, because Oribello's billed itself as a Hawaiian/Filipino restaurant, so why was their birria pizza? Anyway, huge loss aside, the modified menu is really good. The lumpia is a great app, though pricey at $10 for 4 of them. But the plates are a great value, priced around $15-$20, with a generous portion of meat, rice, and mac. I've been splurging on the beef short ribs lately and will probably continue to order it as it's the best thing I've had from their menu. As Oribello's is in a spot that's been two different businesses in recent years, I really hope they break the curse and stick around! read more

Came here on a Friday night, very busy! Cute small interior. Service was good, waiter was very apologetic about the long wait time for food because of a backed up kitchen. We tried the fried chicken with fries as the appetizer, it came out after my main meal. Not enough chicken to fries ratio, but hot and crispy. The crispy chicken plate was good, lots of carbs. Came with macaroni salad and garlic rice. Also tried the ube colada, delicious! Would get this again for sure! The food was not bad overall, especially the pork adobo. It was tender, flavorful, and nicely seasoned. The Pork Lumpia was pretty good too and we liked the peanut sauce on the house salad as well. However, the rice on every dish that we ordered was a bit too al dente for our taste, which made it less enjoyable overall. Sunday brunch with my friends was great here! We tried the Brussels sprouts - lumpia and chicken bites to start - all delicious!! Great spread for appetizers The chef also let us try a pandan French toast as a sample for the menu - so freaking good!! Super cute Filipino fusion pub style restaurant on 37th street. This is a great time of year to dine here as you can also experience the beautiful Christmas lights on 37th street. I made a reservation for 6pm but they only had outdoor seating available, so we opted to sit at the bar. We ordered the Ube mocktail and a spiced Mexican hot chocolate for drinks, both of which were fantastic. For food we ordered the lumpia starter to share, a pork adobo plate, and a garlic chicken plate. Plates are served with jasmine rice and mac salad sides. Lumpia - 10/10 so so good! Pork & Chicken plates - 7/10, not bad but not great. Docking a star for how long the food took to arrive. We waited for over an hour to receive our meal. October 8th - Google maps made finding Oribello's slight challenging or maybe it was just me. The restaurant and staff were absolutely amazing. The dishes on the website looked so delicious that it made me want to try everything so I did. Went back the other day and their pizza oven was down. This was one of the better pizza in town. The restaurant is revamping the menu and will be serving ramen among other things. The Ube treats are amazing! I will be heading back soon to see what changes are being made. Checked this place out as it's been having all the buzz. Its feels quite small inside with some bar seating but also has outside with a screen to watch football. we tried the ube tres leches which was good/ unique concept but I dont think it's mindblowing. The cocktails flavors were inventive- Asian inspired. The ube colada was very icy and thick in the beginning and took a while to melt, I couldn't finish it all. Came here for brunch, noticed you can either sit down or order at the bar. The table has a QR code that you can scan to order your food and drinks. Noticed that more than half of the items were sold out, which is interesting. Order Longsilog and Lumpia. Both were okay. The garlic rice didn't have enough garlic, as I didn't taste any garlic in it compared to other Filipino places I've been to. The rice also doesn't look like it was fried enough, as it still kind of has a wet side. The lumpia was okay; there was another eat-to-wrapper ratio, and the sauce was okay, slightly different from your normal sauce. Service was okay. I don't know if they were having a bad day, but they were running around trying to figure out who is missing food or figuring out who the food belongs to. My husband and I decided to try Oribello's Bar & Kitchen when in the area. We parked in a small lot next to the restaurant. We walked in and were greeted by the person working. He was great, very friendly. We sat down and he instructed us to use the QR code to look at the menu and place our order. It was really easy to do. After placing our order we waited. After getting our small bites he offered us a shot of a drink to try. I accepted but requested it be non alcoholic. He said he could do that and brought it to us. Not long after he brought us the rest of our food. The Food To start we ordered The Katsu Chicken Sando which is a crispy chicken tender sandwich that is covered in a sauce with a slaw. It came with a side of fries. I thought that this sandwich was really good. The sauce it was covered in gave it a sweet flavor and the slaw gave it texture. It was yummy. The fries were good. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also tried the Birria Poutine which is fries with Birria meat, gravy, a cream sauce, and fresh mozzarella chunks. These fries had a lot of flavor due to the cream sauce and gravy that was used. The Birria meat was good but I think it needed a little more meat than what we got but it was good. My husband liked that the mozzarella chunks were at the bottom. It was a good combination of ingredients. Lastly we tried the Hawaiian Pizza which comes with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, ham, and pineapple. It was a huge pizza. It was tasty. The pizza itself was thin and the tomato sauce was very good. The ham was semi salty but good, and the pineapple chunks were spread around. I wish there was more pineapple on the pizza but that's just my preference. I think next time I will add extra. The crust was was thick but airy. The pizza was really good. As an extra we got to try a shot of the Purple Ube Colada without alcohol. It was so good! I recommend trying it. Overall it was a great lunch. We did not try their pizza, but did order the lumpia and fried mozz which were the perfect cheat day snacks. The atmosphere was fun and the bartenders were very friendly. This is becoming one of my favorite spots to hangout with friends! They have great drinks, solid food, and a fun atmosphere that is chill and family friendly. I've visited on a night out with friends, as well as a happy hour with a large group, including young kids. Both experiences were really enjoyable. Parking is a little tricky but we were able to find a spot at the mechanic shop next door. The ube items were what initially drew me to check out Oribello's, and trust me, the ube tres leches and ube colada are worth the visit. But all of the food and drinks I've tried have been great. A few of my favorites include the Korean sweet pepper wings and the birria poutine. I also really enjoyed the lychee spritz. On both visits, the owners dropped by to check in on us and stuck around to chat and make us feel at home. I love supporting family owned businesses, and you can tell that running Oribello's is a labor of love and pride for their family. I've only been here for drinks, but this was some of the best service I've had in Austin. I had a large group who were going to look at the lights on 37th street, and we needed a place to have drinks and snacks afterwards. Wes (the freaking MAN), let us sit in this area where there were couches and tables. Because they were short staffed, we had to order at the bar, but Wes and the others working were fantastic in checking on us and making sure we had everything we need. We definitely came on an off day as the air conditioning was broken so we sat sweating the entire time with no relief offered. There was plenty of seating, and even a cute outdoor patio, but no one else dined at this time. Unfortunately, service wasn't any better either; they didn't check up on us very often and it took a while to even get drinks. They must've figured no one was going to order a frozen drink our ube coladas took a long time to come as they we waited for the machine to slushify them. In terms of the food, I wasn't too impressed. -Loco moco fries: very salty. The fries were crispy and the meat itself had flavor, but those fries made the whole dish almost inedible for me with the amount of salt. -Pizza: the pizza was thin, but had no structure. It was too soft to hold and the toppings kept falling off. It had decent flavor, but would rather choose a different establishment if I wanted a thin crust that could hold together. -Cod bowl: we were able to try some dishes they were testing out and the cod bowl with rice was one of them. The cod was too salty and overcooked, which led to it being very dry. -Adobo bow: this was another rice bowl we were able to try. While the pork belly was very sweet, it was not tender at all. That, combined with the undercooked rice, made the whole dish fall flat. -Ube tres leches: yikes. For a dessert that should be moist, it was so dry and dense. The ube flavor was present, but the texture missed the mark completely, despite it being doused in sauce. I can imagine this being a nice spot to hang out in, but the food and drinks were underwhelming and quite disappointing. read more

The pizza was damn good. The menu isn't overwhelming, with a million choices, and they do what they do very well. Staff: The owners are great people, very friendly, and work incredibly hard. It's a family-owned spot, with family working there (brothers are founders), and it feels that way with the vibe. Opportunities To Improve: They just opened, so give them time to work out the kinks like any other business. Our experience was incredible, and if it's like any of the founders' previous work, expect an incredible cocktail game to complement that incredible pizza! Holy smokes, this place is killing it. I came for the first time for happy hour on a Friday at 4, and what a pleasant surprise. I came because I had heard they have an Ube Tres leches cake, and boy am I glad I did! The place has great outdoor seating some are picnic tables under a giant tree and some a bit more secluded with padded benchs under an awning that wrap the side of the restaurant. Outside there is turf, screens, and fans that mist on a hot day. There is even a small side patio area with a fireplace if that's your vibe. The inside of the restaurant is really cute. Tall ceilings with dark wood tables and a long L shaped bar. They had a bunch of fun Filipino inspired cocktails and great happy hour specials. But none of that is why I came, I was there to eat! We ordered a Tamarind Brussel sprouts and Crispy Cassava fries to start. So many restaurants fail to deliver a good brussel sprout but Oribello's chef knew his business. They came out with a great balance of sweet and savory with just a hint of spice at the back and the texture was fabulous with just a bit of crunch . The cassava fries were really good too, they were indeed crispy and came out with a flavorful chipotle style cream sauce. After the appetizers we ordered the Braised Pork (Filipino Adobo) and a Birria Pizza. The Braised Pork bowl was beautifully presented, colorful, fragrant. But the Pork! It was delicious and so delicate, marinated to perfection and topped with a crunch. The Rice, chopped vegetables, noodles, and greens all gave texture color and flavor to compliment the melty Pork. And the Birria Pizza was a star all on its own. The crust was thin with a great chew on the front and crunch on the back, based with the creamiest home made Mexican Adobe cream sauce and mozzarella, cheese and topped with marinated Biria beef, onion cilantro and jalapeno salsa, and served with a consummé dipping sauce. This meal was mouth fireworks! So many good flavors textures and things to mix.... But then the Uber Tres Leches arrives with so much deep purple and cream, Prince would have been proud! It was the best thing I could have eaten after all the flavors . It was grounded and rich without being too sweet. The cream was so fluffy topped with a dollop of ube paste and sprinkled with ube flakes. A truly unique take on the magical tres leches. And one I will be going out of my way to enjoy again. We were greeted by Soup and Wes,who were an absolute pleasure--very friendly and well-informed about the menu and substitutions. Brought my lil sinigang (my lovely Filipino girlfriend) here during our brief visit in Austin for a wedding. The food was delicious, lahat pizza was shmackin no cap fr fr on god. She said she had to go check with a different staff member because of something with the owner. Came back and said she needed to ask chef in the back who would know for the answer for some reason? Long story, short: nothing came of it so everyone in my party was glistening with sweat. Not until what seemed like a shift change towards the end of our dinner because a different employee came in much later and turned on a portable fan. Yay? 2.) Once we ordered our food via mobile order, the server brought us lukewarm water while we wait. We had to ask for ice because it was not going to cut it in this hot environment but she immediately offered another table when she brought their water so I guess that was thoughtful for realizing that with the next guests...? 3) A male bartender/server came over about 15 mins after we ordered to let us know they didn't have one of the ingredients for the Moscow mule so our friend had to order something else. Fine, not a big deal, she ordered a cider instead. Our friends got their burgers shortly after that but it was not the Classic that they ordered; it was the Oribello. See next comment. 4) At this point, we've been waiting for awhile for our drinks. A blonde female bartender came over because she sees only 1 of us had a drink and 2 of us had food (albeit, the wrong one - see above). She asked if we all got our drinks yet, we said no, she apologized, and that she would get on it. She also informed us she would remove the Moscow mule charge off their bill and comp the cider that my friend ordered then asked if we needed anything else. We let her know that the burgers my friends ordered were not the correct ones. She apologized again and said they could keep the burgers and they'll send out the right ones. They declined so the food was sent back. When they finally got their burgers again 10 mins later, it was the same exact burger...except they just removed the Filipino hot dogs from the original Oribello burger, forgot the pickles and bacon for their additional toppings (but kept the bacon jam that only came on the Oribello burger), and the fries were hard. We had to ask for ketchup twice. Then they finally brought our drinks except mine. That was the last time we saw our original server (the braided pigtails). 5) The same male employee came over again to check on us. We asked for the wait time for my husband's entree since we had our food now except him. He let us know that he'll check on it and we asked if we were missing anything. I asked for the ube tres leche cake to be served with the rest of the food since we didn't know how long it would take at that point or if they'll even remember to bring it out later. I also let him know his blonde female coworker gave my drink to another table who sat down more than 30 mins after us. He apologized on her behalf and would look into it. When the male employee asked the blonde about my drink, I read her lips and she mouthed to him "She just added it", which I clearly didn't because I put my order in the same time as my food. I watched her make my drink and she filled it up with 85% ice and 15% drink even though the other girl who had my drink had the opposite ratio. She was "kind" enough to remove the drink from our bill though. 6) The ube tres leche was not great. The cake batter itself was dry and it felt like they just quickly drenched it in some ube syrup to give it the "wet" look but it was not like HEB tres leches. The ube pina colada had more pina colada than ube. TL;DR below average experience with subpar food and inattentive staff except the guy who at least actually checked on our stuff. read more

I've been wanting to come here and so when someone needed a suggestion for happy hour, I said let's go to Oribello's! What I love about Oribello's is the super friendly vibe. It's spacious inside with a cute outdoor patio too. Parking can be a little tricky since you can't block the tire shop next door until they close at 6PM (which also happens to be when happy hour ends). We parked by the laundromat and asked Ronnie if it was okay, he was very nice about it. Mila and Soup totally took care of us. We ordered almost everything: lumpias, adobo chicken wings, fried cassava, and brussels sprouts. They were all so good so you should order all of them! We tried the birria pizza, which came out with consommé and dang...the crust was crunchy, the flavors were on point, and it even reheated perfectly for lunch the next day. Really enjoyed the different flavored drinks...the ube gin and tonic was strong and such a pretty purple. The lychee spritz is on the sweeter side, the banana old fashioned was good, and the classic margarita was perfectly made. For dessert, we had the ube flan and the ube tres leches. Both so good! I had a lot of ube flavored things here and I'm still not sure if i even know how to describe this taste...you'll just have to come and try ube for yourself. Can't wait to come back! read more
