Gwendolyn was a great server! We ordered both KPOT and KBBQ dinner. I even asked if we could get the chicken wings as we ordered dinner. Gwen said she would try and she and the kitchen came through!! Gwen also said if we needed more do not be afraid to ask. We were satiated with those 6 or 7 wings. Unfortunately we only bought my wife a soft drink and our bill was $117 and the raffle tickets are every $40 spent so we only received two of them for three of us. Nyla was great as I could not find pepper on the sauce bar to season our hangar steaks. Nyla went into the kitchen and grabbed some for me, as well as adding an equal amount of salt to the sauce bowl as I wanted both for seasoning the meat. Lina, at the front desk, helped out with questions about the raffle tickets, the snow crab legs free special on April 15 their one year anniversary of the Taylor location being open. Gwen was great and kept us in clean grills, brought extra butter for our hangar steaks as requested, and kept our pitcher of water filled. She had two mishaps right beside our table. First she accidentally spilled a cup of ice for us ( her tray had a LOT on it ). Later replacing it she dropped a second cup of ice water next to me as well. Gwen said she bragged to a coworker she had not dropped anything for a long time after the first mishap recently. I regaled her about when I bragged I never spilled my giant 64 ounce Speedway cup wedged between my front seats to a coworker. That day and the following two days it spilled three times. I told her it was GOD's humor to our pridefulness. So when she spilled the second cup, I managed to refrain from saying she was due one more spill. Not sure who took our reservation for 3 weeks out for lunch, but she didn't even ask for my name at all. I had to ask and give her my phone number too. Odd. Reservations required for 10 or more people. A table fits up to 8 people with two grills to share among 8 people. No worries since there was only 5 of us the day of, additionally they didn't end up reserving us a table. Everyone at the table must get the same thing, BBQ or BBQ and hotpot together. Gwen waited on us. There is a $10 upgrade for the dinner meats and protein (marked as red under the protein selections). What a bummer!. A lot of the meats and protein items my team wanted are only available at the dinner time menu, unless you pay the extra $10 per person, a premium for it. None of my team wanted to pay the dinner price for a few premium meats. The iPad is used for ordering your meats and vegetable and rice, easy to used. Cart order shows as $0. Place order and items takes about 5 minutes to come out on a cart. The soybean paste as well as the sesame oil with little pepper and salt is a good dipping sauce for your barbecue meat. The appetizers were not so yummy. It's only chicken nuggets, veggie spring rolls and fries. Some more of the Korean bunsik items would have been good. The banchans are so-so. The kimchi, cucumber, sliced radish, and radish chunks were just OK. The tofu skins were odd, I thought they were fish cake at first. They are not. Our grill had to be replaced a few times, additionally the vent hood wasn't working properly. We were inundated with smoke at times. Gratuity of 18% is added for parties of 5 or more. Spicy chicken was decent, sinewy and gristly though. Pork belly and bulgogi was ok. Calamari was so-so. The garlic shrimp was good. Prefer Korean BBQ restaurants, the buffet bar is good for the dipping sauce for the hotpot, but not a lot of good apps or fruit options for me. read more

Would have been a 5 out of 5 except for Ritaj's service. The failure of her to keep our drinks full and change or even offer to change our grill was a major problem. 20 to 30 minutes without checking in with us is huge. Otherwise a great dinner except for that glaring error. Not grabbing dirty food plates either by Ritaj as she was not stopping by to do so. We even had to have the hostesses after we went to the hostess desk to go find her. Unacceptable. read more

I was trying to figure out how to respond to Jin P, the business manager for kPot. Hopefully she will see this separate review. We have eaten at the kPot in Novi several times and both locations in Wisconsin quite a few times. Always enjoyable. This Taylor, Michigan location experience was horrible. I'm not sure if this is a franchise or individually owned. But given the treatment we received at the Taylor, Michigan location we will never be going back there again. Your manager was extremely rude and unaccommodating. If you are out of two of your main ingredients, you should at least give someone a slice of onion. Actually at $25 a person you should give a slice of onion anyway. Train your management in customer service. She is a disgrace. read more

Atmosphere: This restaurant is very clean and comfortable. The lightning is sufficient and the seating is great. This is an excellent place to have a special event meal or take someone for a date night. The prices are a little on higher side so you will either want to go during the lunch special or occasionally or for special reasons. Food: The experience is fun. With the Hot Pot, you order a soup base and then use an iPad to pick meats and vegetables that you will then add to the soup base to cook. We have not had the Korean barbecue but the idea is the same. You pick your items and then cook them there at the table. I recommend not adding noodles or rice to your soup base as this will only make you full quicker. The idea is that you have 2 hours to sit and eat as much as you like. I found that not having a starch helps you get your money's worth and you can leave without feeling like your stomach will explode. You can leave having ate a reasonable amount of food. Service: Excellent service. The people here are very nice and extremely friendly. The customers were diverse in nature which made it feel very comfortable and inviting. I highly recommend trying this place however, the prices are a bit high so you may not want to do this weekly. We will for sure be going back. If you get cold sake, I also recommend not getting the flavored sake because what they mix in it (fruit, strawberry I think) makes it a little heavier so it will also add to you feeling full. read more

Nope! This one is not it! Lovely looking restaurant and decor. Chicken was not real chicken. I know real chicken from chicken made in a lab. Kids under 5 should not be paying $15. My nephew ate 2 wing dings and maybe 3 fries. Service was ok. Bring hand sanitizer. I just do not feel this place is clean enough...the handles stayed sticky. (Husband) .....I'm not impressed. What can I say, I'm a sucker for KBBQ. Specially the AYCE type. So when we found out the new Kpot finally opened up. We gave it a proper go at it. If you've never been to one of these. Let me give you the run down. Before you're seated, they'll ask you if you want to do BBQ or Hotpot or Both. We opted for BBQ only. Then you take a seat, order drinks and then tap what you require on the tablet. A few moments later a plethora of meats, seafood and/or veggies arrive. You drop it on the grill and then proceed to smash. The setting is nice and tidy. The servers are very attentive and the food was superb. Nothing went a miss. I thoroughly enjoyed my smash mode here. I literally frequent the KPot in east lansing, Sterling Heights and Livonia all the time. This is the WORST spot. I am posting the google closing time of 11:30pm. This woman gave us the bill before even 11pm. She kept cleaning up next to us and made us pay the bill before we even got any BBQ. This waitress and staff made us very uncomfortable. The reputation of Taylor being extremely racist and racial profiling I guess has spiked over into the businesses. I will NOT be returning to this spot. The food was okay, nothing special or different. The ambiance was okay there was barely anyone here on a Friday night which speaks volumes. The waitress told us the place closed at 11pm. I visited this establishment with my husband, two children and my sister. Overall, I would recommend based on the environment and style of the restaurant. What I would not recommend, if you plan to attend; is the price. It was 39.99 for 1 adult / 21.99 for my 7 year old and anyone under 3 was free. Mind you we went at 4pm right around dinner time. I ordered bulgogi for take out. The wait for the take out was minimal. The food was spiced perfectly (mild bulgogi) marinated before cooked like it should be. The beef could have been more tender, and the portion larger for $18.00 + change, otherwise i would have scored them a 5 - 5. For the dine in customers, the restaurant was very nice, new, and clean. So this is my son's account and I left a review last week. Anqi greeted and seated us. I'm pretty sure she is a manager. I wanted to speak with her but she always was busy every time I went to try to talk to her. Maybe next time. 9.75 out of 10 for the overall experience. Becca ( Rebecca ) served us again and again gave outstanding service. Attentiveness to details like bring my wife a Pepsi refill before she asked and before her cup was empty. My son and I split two pitchers of Diet Pepsi and the wings for me were the highlight. The battered shrimp was great too. The have cocktail sauce, duck sauce, ketchup, and a few more sauces I never saw at the other two Detroit metropolitan locations of KPOT. The lamb was great and the clam situation from last week has improved. Every order ( 3, 5, 5, and 7 ) gave us 3 clams per order as a great new pattern of consistency. There is a Wing Zone nearby that sells 30 wings for $30. This place needs to do the same. Their wings here rival Bonchon twice fried wings for extremely crispy skin, and like the two aforementioned chicken wing restaurants if I could get just drummies for $1 each, I would pay that price gladly. This establishment needs to consider that seriously. Other reviewers are saying over $100 for two people? Stay away from the alcoholic beverages then. We paid $128 for both KBBQ and Hot Pot plus 3 soft drinks for 3 of us. Complaining about the price is ridiculous. The food is well worth the price. Check this friendly well staffed restaurant. I believe the price is $21 for lunch, $32 for dinner, and plus $5 more for both KBBQ and Hot Pot. Call for pricing though as Bidenflation is making ALL things more expensive every month. read more

You walk in and it's bright with lights and music playing. Let me say to people who never been to a buffet hot pot. No you do not get a free go to box. Yes the price is kind of pricey. But you get alot of food so I don't see the problem. I will give a warning, if you have alot of food left at the table you will be charged it's a business that needs to survive so best to just order as you go no need to go crazy ordering alot just because you got click crazy on the tablet. The hot pot and grill are separate so I hope your service explains this to you and you will be spending around $100 for 2 people including 2 drinks . The sauces and seasoning are at the bar so if any meat you get taste (bland) go up and help your self to add whatever spices to it . The wings at the bar they had were fat, juicy and tasty also. Food really was bad bad bad and you can not make a smaller Long Island ice tea unless you made it in a shot glass for 13 bucks was over the top a ripoff. The waitress could not have been less helpful. When asked about it she said she was the only one serving. Which would've not been bad had we not been the only two people in the entire restaurant? She does nothing but set you up at the table doesn't explain much and then you're on your own. My husband and I celebrated my 60th birthday at KPot in Taylor. We were greeted by a friendly hostess (don't know her name but she colors her hair bright pink). We were seated almost immediately. The server showed us how to order the items we wanted to barbecue and turned on the grill for us. We had chicken wings for our appetizer, chose a cooking sauce and began to cook. Beef, pork, chicken, and salmon all were delicious. The server brought us a clean grill for our second order. We finished dinner and were ready for our check. My husband told the server it was my birthday. She came back with a couple of co-workers, a "Happy Birthday" sign, and a slice of cheesecake with chocolate sauce. This place is way overpriced and they throw away your leftovers instead of letting you take them. I get that they are trying to keep people from exploiting all you can eat, but when I have half a pot of soup left it shouldn't be thrown in the trash. That's just wasteful. Service is meh as well.
