Rub on ribs super super salty. Sides ordered medium mashed potatoes ($1.50 extra) and corn. Neither received. Got baked beans and mac n cheese, don't know why. We don't like/eat either. Also ordered whole apple pie. It was frozen hard as a rock. Waste of time, money and effort. I won't be Ever going there again. Husband and I gave Dave's a try, he was craving ribs. Walked in and was cheerfully greeted and taken to a booth. Our waitress came right over and greeted us and took our drink order. Husband ordered full slab of baby back ribs and I ordered the chicken tenders. Our dinners came in a timely fashion and were piping hot. Chicken tenders were delicious and a good portion, baked beans tasty and mashed potatoes hot and tasty also. Meal came with a cornbread muffin, yum. I ordered ranch dipping sauce and it was very good. Husband was disappointed with his ribs because they needed to be cooked longer and therefore were tuff, not the fall off the bone kind. First time at Famous Dave's, conveniently located in the same shopping center as JOANN Fabric and Christmas Tree Shop. I placed an online pickup order for the Iris' Down Home Fried Chicken Platter -White Meat Only. The price increased to $20.99 as of December 2022. Some online menus state that it still costs $16.99. The platter comes with four pieces of fried chicken, cornbread, and two sides. I chose the french fries and beans. I also ordered a cup of chili ($4.99). The fried chicken was hot and right out of the fryer. The skin was crispy, and the meat was tender and juicy. The chili was delicious and slightly spicy. You can request that it comes with cheddar cheese and a side of onions at no extra cost. I like that the fries don't have added salt, but they could be crispier. The beans and cornbread were on the sweet side but good. My friend preferred if those sides had more spice than sweetness. Delicious southern food made to order. I would eat here again. read more

Let's just start by saying ... BRAVO to Sam & Mel at the Taylor location! Their service and attention they showed me was outstanding and it's greatly appreciated. Customer service is lacking big time in most places so I applaud these ladies double time! We all have our quirks but like most people over the past several years I've become more obsessive regarding cleanliness of establishments, businesses etc. I'm a straight up bonafide germaphobe (within reason), proud distant relative to Monk! lol ...so cleanliness of establishments means a lot to me. Sam and Mel both were attentive to those needs and kept checking on me to make sure all was well. The food was outstanding, please DO try the egg rolls (if still on menu) great flavor! So, hubby wanted chicken for brunch (really lunch by the time we actually made it out of the house). Anywoo...we decided on Famous Dave's and had a good little bite. Hubby loves their fried chicken-IRIS' Down Home Fried Chicken. We ordered the Feast for two-nice offering of ribs, fried chicken, spicy sausage link, fries, beans, corn on the cob, muffins, and I traded slaw for collard greens. Last time I went to famous Dave's barbecue, I ordered the pulled pork meal. No exaggerating it was about a quarter cup of pulled pork. It was like a kids meal very disappointing as I used to enjoy. read more

I ordered a slab of ribs today, paid $36 and they were burnt and almost not edible. My son tried eating them, but you can see in the picture it was a struggle. I'm sure the person who got these ribs from the oven saw clearly that they were burnt, but they gave them to me, the customer anyway. Shame on you Famous Dave's employees. read more

It used to be pretty good, but the past two years its gone downhill. Their price is overpriced now given the quality and amount of food they serve. The fries and chicken were unseasoned, okay, but that's it. Not bad, but not *good*. The server also didn't tell us until after that they were out of pulled pork, and then still charged us on the receipt for it until we asked them to remove it. They also didn't have any of their TV's on and it was very quiet. It took them nearly half an hour to take our payment, and me and my wife got slightly ill after eating there. When we got here it wasn't at all packed which was a good thing for us because after seeing the movie F9 at the theater we were starving so there was no wait on the seating, then we ordered our drinks which was Dave's Famous Tea, I have to say this drink is a little boozy but it tastes just like the perfect drink to have sitting on a patio in your backyard in the middle of August and just enjoying your weekend, it is a really good drink. Then we decided to order the meal for two, it came with a mini slab of ribs, beef brisket, cole slaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, French fries, corn bread and Dave's famois Mac n Cheese. So I made a full plate of each item and I have to say we both had a full.plate and still alot left over for home. So the 1st thing I ate was Corn on the cob and they didn't use butter or salt on it at all, it tasted as if u broiled it in water then served it, not very tasty at all, then I had the Baked beans i have to say that the rich BBQ and zesty flavor and with great explosion of maple syrup, it was VERY delicious then I had the Mc N Cheese and for it being Famous it was very liquidy, the cheese had no thickness to it at all, not very tasty then I had the chicken and the chicken was BBQ'd very nicely with a great char broiled flavor to it and then onto the brisket, to me, the brisket was the best part of the WHOLE meal,it was so full of juice, flavor and just a great cut of meat, it had every bit of flavor a brisket should have, didnt even need to cut it, it just melted in your mouth. Now the last thing I ate was the ribs, I LOVED the ribs, the BBQ taste and the sauce they use is really good, I won't lie I did use their Devils Spit sauce on alot of the food but the food is really good on its own. When u come here you definitely need to bring a toothpick because you will leave with a teethful of meat. It is definitely worth it, we don't come here often but for a meal for 2 with ALL of those items and an alcoholic beverage was just under $70 to us it was very worth it because we each had a FULL plate and ALOT to take home as well. read more

Details below: Service: I don't remember the gals name, but super professional, attentive and friendly. Cornbread Muffin: Not a big cornbread person, but this was very tasty and fresh. Slab of ribs: Excellent flavor, tender yet held itself. I'll add that they are good size ribs. Totally acknowledge this is not the $1 menu at a fast food joint... LEGIT HIGH QUALITY FOOD :) Wings: Buffalo style. Not huge, but you get a good amount of them for the order/price. EXCELLENT FLAVOR. I don't know what they sneak on there aside from the buffalo sauce, but very tasty. Side salad: Also very huge portion, almost a dinner salad if you ask me. My last review from February was two stars. While I know that Famous Dave's isn't fine dining, it previously had been solid scores - 3-4 stars. My visit yesterday afternoon lets me know that this FD location reads the reviews AND acts on them (they did reach out to me after my previous review). This was an excellent visit. Our waitress (blanking on her name because I would love to give her kudos) was excellent. She took our orders promptly, food was quick and hot, she was so pleasant - checking back on us, but not hovering. My stuffed potato with pulled pork was great, my husband loved the ribs. We did order an item to go, but she forgot that - since we weren't charged for it, we didn't worry about it. Hubby said that he didn't think he would need a snack after his rib dinner. Thank you FD management for checking about the last review and listening to my concerns. Generally, I'm not a HUGE chain person. But, there arent a lot of Mom and Pop BBQ places, so Famous Daves is it! Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are, but the kitchen is usually pretty good and consistent with food quality. I know Famous Daves isnt gourmet- but it can be good. For a party of two, I like the Family meal. It's a good variety of items and is always plenty of food to eat and have for lunch lol. Burnt Ends and the Brisket are always a favorite of mine. Corn muffins- so sweet and soft and delicious. My most recent visit was during lunch time, and they have a great lunch menu with variety and prices. LUNCH IS FROM 11-5PM! Those are crazy long lunch hours. There are sandwiches, lunch plates, and salads. If you want to give FD a try again, go for lunch. read more
