This restaurant is definitely nothing fancy! But what they lack in ambience, they make up in their food! Order at the counter. There is no wait staff. The drinks are from the fridge; no soda fountain, no bar, no glasses. Just drinks from cans or bottles. They do offer a small libations selection of beer/seltzers/bottled margaritas. The crab breaks well with whole bites of meat. The shrimp are large. Served in a large platter with sausages, egg, corn on the cob and well cooked potatoes. All generously covered in butter with your preferred seasonings. A bib and gloves are provided. Be prepared to have a chin dripping with butter. Honestly I was happy this wasn't an upscale restaurant because I would have been embarrassed by my lack of etiquette as there's just no way to "properly" eat this meal. This is definitely a "dining experience" and Oh, so worth it!

So the food for the most part was spot on. The only improvement I'd recommend is cooking the potatoes a little longer. The corn was my favorite! Buttery flavor in every bite! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Welcome to the family. Good size dining for a small establishment.

The food was really solid, seasoned well and fresh. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot. Definitely worth checking out when you're craving seafood.

Loved this place! Went with my family today, we had never been. The crab was good, and not just that the sides were great as well. And what probably made this place awesome was the customer service. Kevin was so so nice, we told him it was our first time in and he went through and explained everything to us. 100% coming back here!!

    So much food!

That crab legs and shrimp were ! I wanted to go back but we were headed back home to Minneapolis, Minnesota..I still think about it.. I can't wait to go back to Missouri..This will absolutely be my first stop..Also the staff working were very polite..had me look at my food before leaving just to make sure everything was on point!

Krab Kingz is Krazy Kool...alright, alright! I'll stop! The kooky spelling doesn't define Krab Kingz so, let's get straight to the point...how does this place pull an under four star avergae?! This seafood superstar blows other fishes out of the water! The way Krab Kingz presents its bounty of the sea is truly impressive and makes the restaurant a true dining experience. The choices of multiple butters, I am partial to the classic lemon pepper and the spicy tangy cajun, make it an interactive dining experience as well. The way to go is to stop in for lunch and get the combo shrimp and snow crab platter complete with potatoes, corn on the cob, hardboiled egg and sausage. If you do decide to enjoy the experience with a friend make sure you both try exclusive butter/flavorings and switch up the seafood and veggies for an out-of-bounds (as Sir Fieri would say) meal! To some the sticker shock of Krab Kingz may be enough to scare you away however, do not let this hinder you from experiencing a true form of unique comfort classics of the crustacean variety. Krab Kingz is on my "Top Ten in KC Seafood Specialties" for sure even if it is a St. Louis native. Dip your toe in the waters of Krab Kingz, don't worry I assure you the water is fine...and so are the sweet succulent crab legs, tender juicy shrimp, firm but melt in your mouth seasoned corn and tender potatoes plus all that butter!...more than fine if you ask me downright perfect!

First time here but we will definitely be back! My girlfriend and I split the crab and shrimp platter. It was more than enough for both of us. The flavor was addicting. I recommend the honey garlic butter. The crab was wonderful but the potatoes, sausage, and corn were so so good too. The restaurant was super clean and I liked the decor inside. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work Krab Kingz, glad to have you in KC!

I've only ordered the seafood boil but it's soooo goood! Do you love seafood and butter? If so, this is your place! There are several flavors that you can chose from to add to your butter. I typically do Parmesan garlic and my husband does honey garlic. The portions are good sized.

Amazing to think JJ's has been a Kansas City institution for more than 41 years. It's one of the…read morecity's longest-running independent restaurants. Last night was our first visit. We were entertaining out-of-town guests, and with their hotel literally next door, JJ's seemed like the perfect choice. Before making the reservation, I read quite a few Yelp reviews. Opinions seemed surprisingly divided. Some called it one of the best restaurants in Kansas City, while others questioned the food, service, and value. I was hoping our experience would fall into the first category. Unfortunately, it didn't. One thing that's immediately apparent is JJ's extraordinary wine program. The wine list is extensive and impressive, and we enjoyed a wonderful bottle of 2021 Caymus. In fact, the wine was easily one of the highlights of our evening. Where the experience fell short was everything else. When you're paying $56 for Ahi Tuna and $79 for the signature JJ's Pride steak, the expectations naturally rise. Our server, who mentioned she had been there only two months, was pleasant, but the overall level of service never matched the caliber of restaurant or the prices. I look for knowledgeable recommendations, polished service, and a meal that flows effortlessly. We never quite felt that. We sampled several dishes that are frequently recommended. The Paco's Shrimp and the Steamed Mussels were enjoyable, but neither stood out. I was surprised that no bread accompanied the mussels to soak up the broth. When we asked for some, it appeared as a $5 charge on the bill. That felt unnecessary and left the wrong impression. The JJ's Pride steak was cooked exactly as requested and was probably the best entrée we ordered. The Ahi Tuna was my biggest disappointment. While it appeared to be cooked to the proper temperature, the heavy chili crisp topping overwhelmed the tuna's natural flavor. It simply wasn't as memorable as I had expected. Our total bill exceeded $600 (before tip), including $165 for the wine. At that price point, I expect an experience I'll be talking about for weeks. Instead, the evening was simply... good. Not bad, but not memorable either. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes, although many of our selections are among those most often recommended. I kept waiting for something that made me think, "Now I understand why people rave about this place." That moment never came. I'm glad we finally experienced JJ's, but based on this visit, I don't see us returning.

For my entrée, I ordered the lamb chops, and they continue to be the best lamb chops I've had--perfectly seasoned, tender, juicy, and cooked just right. The crab fried rice was full of flavor, while the lobster mashed potatoes were rich, creamy, and the perfect complement to the meal.
