I have been calling since February to schedule a time to walk my dog. I purchased the YouSwoop deal that they featured and was excited to try them. After several unreturned phone calls someone answered and asked me to fill out the online profile and then they would call me. However, that never happened. More unreturned phone calls. They I got an answer, and the lady said someone would call me back in 10 minutes after she knew who my walker was...and that was 2 weeks ago. I tried to contact them again with no answer. I would like my money back for the YouSwoop purchase. I would also not recommend them to be reliable with your pet if they cannot return a phone call. read more

I am a high maintenance mess. I'm the kind that writes epic instructions about things that should be obvious, and calls once a day to check in even though I'm usually sure there's no news to check in about. Jessica made sure that I didn't have a care in the world. Not only did she take amazing care of my cats, ages 18 1/2 and 9, she also took amazing care of my three foster kittens. Additionally, my house was spotless when I got back. Everything was in its place. I couldn't feel more comfortable with a pet sitter. So if you're a HMM too, it's ok to rely on Jessica and Kramers. I met Jessica and Alex through neighbors over 5 years ago. I had a service and my dog is a brat so I didn't make the switch until Sasha (my Chihuahua) started hiding from my dog walker. Jessica always personally introduces Sasha to new walkers and I have had several different people stay at my house with Sasha when I travel. I hate to think of boarding Sasha and that she would sleep in a cage or on a concrete floor so having a house sitter is the best and Sasha has more attention when Kramers is taking care of here because there are people going in and out of the house all the time. I can also order evening walks in the morning, not with 24 hours notice which I really appreciate because I often work late. I never worry about Sasha when Kramers is taking care of her. I had hired this business to care for my cat when I went out of town for Christmas, as the friends that usually care for her also left Chicago for the holidays. Though she's a fairly self-reliant cat, I needed someone to reliably come in to refill food and water bowls, and empty the litter box. In addition, they had agreed to get my mail. We had agreed to two visits while I was gone, the schedule of which would bring someone to see her about every 48 hours. When I returned from my trip, I was appalled and burst into tears. My cat was hoarse from meowing, and both food bowls and water bowls were empty. The litter box looked like a scene from Hoarders, with several days' worth of feces and urine mixed with the remnants of the bag lining the box. She had clearly clawed at it in an effort to make some room for more of her "business". My long-haired cat had feces sticking to her back-end hairs because there was literally no room in the litter box for clean squatting. They also told me that they would text me when they arrived at my apartment to let me know that they had arrived, and they never did this. I thought that it was a simple oversight, but in the context of all of this, maybe not. The only way I knew that they had even been there was an opened container of wet food in the fridge. When I checked the personal schedule for my pet, it indicated that they had been to my apartment, but earlier in the week than we had agreed on. I thought that this would be better than putting her in a kennel. but this was more traumatic for her than I could have ever imagined. It breaks my heart to hear her hoarse little meows, because I know that she's been crying for days. This review is long, but I just returned home tonight and am furious, horrified, and so incredibly heart-broken. read more

Not only did she not show, she didn't even have the common courtesy to call me back after I left her a message inquiring where she had been. We use Kramers to walk our goldendoodle puppy - we started with three walks per day and now our little guy only needs two. From the beginning, Kramers has been reliable - coming to meet us and our puppy to get our services started and since then always showing up promptly for our pup's daily walks. Not only has Kramers been reliable, Jessica, the owner, has gone above and beyond and suggested feeding times and treats to keep our puppy occupied and happy while we're gone. She picks up the phone every time we call, even "after hours". She and her employees always leave notes to let us know how our puppy's day of walks went. I have a very social kitty who recently made the move from our childhood home in Denver (where he had two dogs to play with) to a studio apartment in Chicago where he has to hold down the fort. I don't travel often, but when I do I tend to get very stressed. Jessica and Doreen have been amazing in making sure Boo is spoiled while I am away. The house is in order when I get back and I know Boo has had fun with his new friend. Doreen even brushes him everyday! (Something I need to get better at!) You can't go wrong with Kramers. They come pick up the spare key, work out a schedule online, pay online, someone always answers the phone. These people started out OK but then violated every trust I had. When they house sat, they ate my food, drank my beer and didn't replace any of it nor acknowledged it until confronted. Afterward I find out that they were not walking my dog but letting her out in the yard instead. They are untrustworthy and have not returned my texts. Do not use them! read more

You can equate this type of service to babysitting and/or daycare for your child or a senior relative. Keep your eyes and ears open, and trust your gut instinct. I will not entrust my animal family members with these folks. read more

I used Kramer's pet sitting to feed my two cats in the winter of 2010 and they were great. I then used them in July 2011 and because I also had a friend coming to play with my cats, I found out that they were coming about 13 hours later than I had requested. I gave them another chance this past winter (2011) and I will NEVER be using their services again. The same friend that caught them coming at the wrong time stopped by one night this winter. There was no water, no dry food, litter was full, and they hadn't fed them wet food two of the days. I could not believe it! I was gone for a total of 10 days, and I'm very scared of what might have happened to my cats had my friend not stopped by. I do not recommend using their services. In addition to not feeding my cats, it was like pulling teeth to get them to call/text me back. read more

My friends are asking me who I trusted my three, specail needs, rescue dogs with while on an out of town trip since I typically never leave them for more than a few hours! Jessica made two visits to our home to be introduced to our dogs and we began what we thought was a regular 2 week visit schedule. On the second visit, she was late (we had to call to find out if she was coming) and on the 3rd visit, she didn't show at all or call to say why. Obviously reliability is an issue here. read more

I was lucky that when I moved to Chicago that I found Jessica and Kramer's Pet Sitting. I have two St. Bernard's that were used to having their own yard to play in. Having to move them here and get them used to urban living was a concern of mine. Jessica and her team were outstanding in helping in the first few months to get my dogs adjust to their new life. In addition Jessica shows such love of my dogs that when Saffie got sick one work day, she rushed over and stayed with Saffie until I got home. She then rushed to the vet to get her the antibiotics that Saffie needed. I trust her completely with my dogs and trust her when she does overnights for me when I travel. I have met all of her staff as they all have taken care of my dogs and my dogs love them all. Kramer's is the best dog walking service in the Chicagoland area.
