I've only had takeout from here one time and I gave the turkey reuben a try. I would probably place it near the top of the list of the best reuben sandwiches I've ever eaten - turkey or corned beef. They have a pretty large selection of other deli sandwiches available, but I haven't had a chance to try it again. Hopefully that day will come again soon. read more

Kravitz was an amazing little find! I visited Youngstown multiple times over the past few months on business and made sure to make a stop here each time. It was an amazing local find with reasonably priced food and a very friendly wait staff. We were also able to get in and out in about 40 minutes for lunch. On our first visit, Jack (the owner), stopped by our table to chat and even gave us a free round of dessert. I ordered the corned beef panini each time because it was just so delicious the first time I decided not to branch out. My side of choice was the potato salad, also delicious. My daughter and I were in town to visit the Art museum, and needed a place to grab a bite for lunch. We both love a good corned beef sandwich, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is on the small side, so we were glad to get there a little before noon so we didn't have to wait. They had a great selection of options, but we zoned right in on the corned beef listings. I went for the reuben, my daughter the traditional corned beef. Both sandwiches came in a "lunch size" which was 4 ounces of meat - it was perfect! Some deli's load on so much meat it's too hard to finish. I especially liked that they put the thousand island dressing on the side for the sandwich - I always ask for it that way but it's nice to find a restaurant that does it without asking! The regular corned beef comes on grilled rye which was a nice touch too. As we checked out we "checked out" the bakery cases and ended up with a super large chocolate chip cookie to go. It was an awesome treat later after our trip to the museum. I loved this place and will definitely be back! read more

The food is good....BUT (and this is literally the biggest but I've ever used), the service is poor, the health standards are non-existent, and the kosher products are constantly cross-contaminated. Poor service - not enough people working there and burnt food Health standards - I watched cross contamination, inconsistent use of gloves/using dirty gloves, and saw meats and cheeses just sit on the counter for an extended period Kosher - I saw the "kosher" slicer be used for meat and cheeses, and saw no separation between tools used for kosher products and regular products. Whether standards have gone down since before the original owner passed it on to her son, I cannot say, but I felt dirty. I put this place on the same level as a Waffle House. My food tasted good, but its not worth it. read more

This place is about 3 miles from my house and I have eaten there many times..... Simply great classic pastrami and corn beef sandwiches with several variations. Excellent quality meats!!!! Amazing deli just off of the highway. So much better than fast food. We stumbled upon this and had an excellent meal. My husband and I each got a variation of the Reubens. Okay SO lets just jump right into it here! First of all I have been to this Deli for many years. They have great bagels, always have, corned beef is tasty, sandwiches do not disappoint, so that's why when I decided I wanted a Reuben for a late lunch on St Patricks day, I headed for Kravitz Deli. It was crammed with people waiting in line, which I have seen on numerous occasions at Jack's Deli in Cleveland, so I jumped in line for the wait. I ordered my Reubin, and a loaf of Rye bread and got into the waiting line. I didn't check my change, but thought it was sparse and figured I'd check the receipt when I got my order. Name was called and I grabbed my bag and headed to the car. Upon looking at my receipt, it said "**Reuben 2 go St Pats**" $13.99! ! ! ! $13.99? Really? and they list it as St Pat's? When their regular sandwich is $7.99 and the loaded is $9.99 and I double checked it on their online menu? Talk about ripping people off! And to top it off the Swiss cheese was almost non existent, the meat was like their $7.99 sandwich, and it was ice cold! Honestly, the next time I want a Reuben i'm going to drive the hour to Jack's Deli because I know it will be hot, the swiss will be easily recognizable, and they even give you cole slaw, and "free" pickles. Great Jewish deli! Pastrami sandwich was unbelievable! Corned beef looked amazing too. Potato salad was good but who had room to eat it? My husband and son - who are Reuben lovers - highly enjoyed the Reuben. I had the "Herbie" (corned beef, REAL salami and Swiss cheese) and highly recommend it. This is our favorite sandwich place. If you're looking for a Subway style conveyer-line sandwich with 3 slices of meat and 3 pieces of onion, you will be very disappointed here. The vast selection of sandwiches (and other items) is a delight. The amount of meat on a sandwich is more than satisfying. You can choose from different breads or even have it thrown on browned potatoes. (With a fried egg on top if you dare!) I love their Bloody Mary's and my boyfriend likes their beer selection. My girlfriend told me that the Cleveland area has the best rye bread (must be from the Germans that settled there?) and the best pickles (Don Hermann). On my way through Youngstrown (which is almost the Cleveland area) I went looking for a place I could get both. Well, it turned out to be Kravitz Deli just a mile off Interstate 80. Great corned beef, delightful sides and Don Hermann pickles and rye bread for my gal. That's my standing order anytime I pass through along with a can of Dr. Brown's Cel-ray. I'm a road warrior, so I like to make every stop count time-wise. However, Kravitz Deli is the one exception. We ordered the reuben because of what others had said about it - it was just ok, I've had better at the corned beef restaurant in Cleveland and independence (the restaurant starts with the letter s). I think Kravitz needs to learn from this restaurant on how they season the corned beef. Also, the pickle isn't very large like this other restaurant. And as an aside the cook was in some horrible mood - she was cooking right there by the checkout counter. She was talking under her breath about someone or something and rolling her eyes as if she was disgusted. If an employee is having a bad day, they probably should stay home. read more

One day, mr kravitz came out and just had a discussion with me and my stepfather. It's a family environment, and you can really tell. My wife and I have been coming here for the past ten years on our yearly pilgrimages to the Midwest where my wife is from. The place is great and always consistent. We love the Reuben's, corned beef on rye and the chopped liver, and the corned beef hash and eggs is truly authentic. Plus, with plaza donuts just down the street with some of the best donuts in the country it's a great pit stop. The owner is always there manning the counter and the servers are pleasant and helpful.
