This place is close to Waikiki and a smaller shop. They have different rates depending if it's the weekend and also what time it is. We went on a Friday at 8:30 pm. We got 2 hours of time. The rate also goes up depending how many people are in your group. The rate for 3 people on a Friday was $35 an hour. This was a bit excessive, as the rooms are a bit run down and you can hear people in each room easily. It was still a load of fun and they had decent song options. But I think the cost is higher than what is expected.

If you're on vacation please go to this place it's so much fun and super affordable. You can bring your cake, and food. Customers service was friendly. You can celebrate your Birthday, Anniversary or just Life!! You will have a great time!

The old school place to gather... Not having been here in literally decades I decided rather than calling to visit here and see about reserving a room for karaoke night. The lady was quite nice and did so with such ease. I also asked what type of room will we get with our group and though it would be nice as it's roomy though if you're in the back everyone needs to step away for you to get out is a slight inconvenience though they do have much larger room one the size of small studio lol! I reserved the room from 5pm which did make it easy to grab parking in front that is small though there are some street parking available nearby. Once you arrive everyone in the party needs to sign in and the lady made sure our room was clean and ready the air is cool and made sure it was all good which was very nice. Back in the day we had to write the songs on a paper and bring it to the front for them to punch in is long gone as you have your own personal karaoke box incredibly filled with songs as we were given books and additional books are provided upon request with two types of remote available. The songs choices was so nostalgic as everyone made various choices and with renting the room you can choose whatever you want without worries and to bring anything BYOWhatever including decor, food and drinks (they do sell them at the front as well) it was a fun gathering of friends that I had a great time. Thank you!

Karaoke time in Honolulu, Hawaii... When Irene M. planned a gathering at Toma Karaoke, I was thrilled to be invited! Gosh... I haven't been here in a long time. I used to hang out with my volleyball team... back in the day... before Yelp life... wow... I remembered that we brought our own food and drinks. The fee for songs was all inclusive with the room rental fee. Since our reservation was for 5pm on a week night, free parking in the small lot was easy. There's also street parking. The cashier at the front was polite and cheerful. We signed in and had no problems during our five hour session. The convenient restrooms were clean and functional. I would return again! (There are different sized rooms depending upon how many people are in your party.) Thanks to Irene M. for a wonderful karaoke session! Our group enjoyed oldies from the Eagles, Bob Welch, Billy Joel, Elton John, and America; newer artists such as Taylor Swift; Hawaiian Groups like Na Leo Pilimehana; and more!!!

Local favorite and definitely in my Top 3. Pros: Well established. Decent musical selection and multiple systems. Convenient location. Good acoustics. BYOB/BYOF. Fair prices. Cons: Parking- Less than eight stalls. Street parking optional. Toma's is ridiculously close to my house. So every blue moon, the husband Ikaika O. and I will plan a hubby-wifey date day (sans children) and sing our Bon Jovi hearts out to one another with beers and soju in hand. It's epic fun.

Just 2 of us had this big room!

Went for the 1st time. We really enjoyed ourselves Worker was SO nice! Room was clean. Bathroom clean. Mics have covers. System is easy to use. Sound is good. We were having so much fun we asked to extend 1 hour. No problem. Room was big for just 2 people. Parking lot is small. That's about the only negative. I think we'll be back.

A gem hidden in plain sight…read more My friends and I spontaneously wanted to sing karaoke on a Saturday night. I obviously didn't plan this lol So we called a few places and I remembered seeing Hawaii Voice on the news and I was always inteigued about the experience of this place. We called and they could accommodate us right away. We headed there and they had the beautiful room all ready to go. The room was huge and clean! Decorations were colorful and bright. The couches were very comfortable and clean. The TVs were HUGE! They were the biggest screens I've ever had for karaoke. The system has plenty of features, and for some, it may be "too much". They offer they're own karaoke catalog system, an older karaoke system (no videos, just lyrics), and YouTube was also integrated. One of the karaoke systems was cool cause you could see the music videos and can sing along. The only thing we noticed for some songs, the synchronization of music and lyrics were off so just make sure you know the song, otherwise, you're gonna be a beat behind. Also, the YouTube system didn't allow ANY song to be sung. The system didn't support some well-known karaoke channels because of the video formats. Lastly, the choice of Japanese songs was bare, but that's not really a problem if you don't sing Japanese songs. They have drinks and food, but we only ordered drinks because we already ate...and we like alcohol. They had a fairly good selection for hards and beers. Sorry, I cannot give an opinion on food. Staff is awesome. We met the owner and he treated us so well. To squeeze us in on a Saturday was a treat, and also a lesson to us on better planning (well, my friends, not me because this wouldn't have happened lol). If you wanna sing karaoke with friends and let out some energy, give this place a try! It's beautiful and will make any karaoke experience fun!

I booked a Large Room for my 12 group party. Upon arriving the man (unfortunately I didn't get his name) told me that my reservation is for 3 hours and if I wanted to extend, I could just let them know. Perfect, sounds good. Emphasis on the **I** could let them know if I wanted to extend. Any karaoke place that you go to, you're losing track of time having fun with your friends. Before you know it, we had gone to the 4 hour mark without anyone coming to inform us or give us a heads up. My friends went to the front desk to close my room tab and were told that because we stayed longer than the reservation time, we would need to pay extra. My friends then questioned "but no one came by to tell us that we were at the time yet". And another guy (also didn't get his name) said- "we only come to warn you if we're busy, but if it's a slow night, it's on your own to remember". Idk that's just pretty shady and bad business in my opinion. I then we out, not knowing the conversation that occurred when I was absent, and questioned again why I was paying for 4 hours if my reservation was for 3 hours and no one came to warn us that we were already past our time. Both men just looked down at their computers and refused to speak to me- I stood there for a good minute waiting for one of them to give me some type of answer, and didn't get anything. Yes I understand we're all adults, but just the fact that the type of environment makes you lose track of time- I just feel taken advantage of and I'm sure I'm not the only one who this has happened to. I just wish they had informed us of this "rule they have based on their level of busy-ness" ahead of time. Because any other karaoke place will warn you when it's almost time to leave. Ended up paying $551 for the 4 hours of singing. Their only saving grace and why they aren't getting 1 star is that they are BYOF (bring your own food).

A hidden secret…read more Our plans for private karaoke room at our usual spot was filled so this is the reason we are here at Cafe Den Mau. I've been here twice and my opinion it was fun but very interesting place. Recommended by my older brother who frequents Cafe Den Mau often. Located at the Yee Hop Plaza on North King Street, same building as Hawaii Dim Sum & Seafood, (after our dinner there) we went straight up to the 2nd floor. Note getting to Cafe Den Mau is a little sketchy, scary in the building but once you arrive its not as bad after all. hehe. You will enter a long corridor, the 2nd floor looks abandoned, old, but there are other businesses in this plaza. The size of Cafe Den Mau is small but perfect, there are a few tables, even a stage with disco lights, drums, and piano. Kind of like in Vietnam although I haven't been but this is what I heard from another customer. husband Jimmy and wife team runs the karaoke spot from 9-2 am nightly. ( best to call if you plan to visit, have questions, or would like to reserve a table or private party.) limited drinks, mostly beer and wine are available, free to bring wine with a fee. ( $20.-30) per bottle. We brought 3 bottles during my first visit with my siblings. You can also bring pupus. Selecting songs are easy, all digital. All songs are available, both our visits, seems like we all were happy with selecting our song choices. We all enjoyed ourselves, first time experience. We even went up to the stage to sing, dance and receiving fake colorful flowers with $1.tip. Fyi, If you do receive flowers with tip, that will belong to the owners. It goes back in the bucket for the owners. hehe. We visited the 2nd time with friends ( 2 Fridays in a row) the same impression, getting to the Karaoke spot, seeing the impression on their faces ( sketchy) but they actually had a great time singing, hanging out, observing the other party that was there. We bought 4 bottles of beer this time, didn't BYOB but I brought chips, dips and some desserts to snack on. The Heineken were $6. and Corona were $8. All in all, first time visiting a Vietnamese Karaoke bar and we will def. be back! Parking available in the back of building's private lot, after hours no need to pay the meter or street parking I know you wouldn't want to park on the street due to the homeless situation at Chinatown.

I actually had no idea that they had karaoke here-- I thought it was just a Korean restaurant, but the "Báng" here I am guessing corresponds to 방 in 노래방. We ordered the Seafood Pancake, Old-Fashioned KFC (Korean fried chicken), Mochiko Chicken, Jja Jang Ramen, and Cream Kimchi Udon for food. All were tasty and paired well with whatever drinks we ordered, which included flavored soju. Servers were quick to check in on us and bring our orders. The mechanic of karaoke here is that you pay for each song, which forces one to be more intentional with singing, but at the same time makes on less stressed about cramming in music within a set amount of time. I left before the rest of my group did, but it was the perfect venue for them to say goodbye to each other and share a moment as friends.

Strangely I had issues finding Disney songs. Maybe it's a licensing thing or just that room? Plenty of alternative songs and classics. The fried chicken wings were delicious- I've tried a handful of them. Garlic is a little too garlic (girlfriend destroyer). Spicy is good. Spicy shoyu is good. Honey one was super good. Their oden soup was really good. And their tacos were actually not bad- a little odd with some flavors but they were overall good. Fried mandoo slaps. I haven't really been disappointed by the food yet. Hope that stays true. Service was good- the staff make rounds every so often and kept our water and drinks filled. The staff remember me and always greet me warmly. I always feel like I'm attended to. Cons: It can get busy. Service lags when it's busy. The bathrooms are small.
