First time here although I've heard its been around for many years. The rooms are clean and a big plus is that it is bring your own food and drinks. We really enjoyed our time here and they had a wide variety of songs - although more local artists would be nice! The time went by so fast and we were able to extend for 30 more minutes to sing a few extra songs. The prices seem a bit high, but not too bad when split up at the end. So I decided to check this place out one weekday afternoon when I was in Moilili in order to get out of the rain and do a little singing. First time for me using one of those DAM controllers - a little clunky but I was able to get the songs I wanted - there were even some songs that I haven't ever even seen on other systems like Healsonic or TJ Media so that was pretty cool. This place is close to Waikiki and a smaller shop. They have different rates depending if it's the weekend and also what time it is. We went on a Friday at 8:30 pm. We got 2 hours of time. The rate also goes up depending how many people are in your group. The rate for 3 people on a Friday was $35 an hour. This was a bit excessive, as the rooms are a bit run down and you can hear people in each room easily. It was still a load of fun and they had decent song options. But I think the cost is higher than what is expected. read more

The old school place to gather... Not having been here in literally decades I decided rather than calling to visit here and see about reserving a room for karaoke night. The lady was quite nice and did so with such ease. I also asked what type of room will we get with our group and though it would be nice as it's roomy though if you're in the back everyone needs to step away for you to get out is a slight inconvenience though they do have much larger room one the size of small studio lol! I reserved the room from 5pm which did make it easy to grab parking in front that is small though there are some street parking available nearby. Once you arrive everyone in the party needs to sign in and the lady made sure our room was clean and ready the air is cool and made sure it was all good which was very nice. Back in the day we had to write the songs on a paper and bring it to the front for them to punch in is long gone as you have your own personal karaoke box incredibly filled with songs as we were given books and additional books are provided upon request with two types of remote available. The songs choices was so nostalgic as everyone made various choices and with renting the room you can choose whatever you want without worries and to bring anything BYOWhatever including decor, food and drinks (they do sell them at the front as well) it was a fun gathering of friends that I had a great time. Karaoke time in Honolulu, Hawaii... When Irene M. planned a gathering at Toma Karaoke, I was thrilled to be invited! Gosh... I haven't been here in a long time. I used to hang out with my volleyball team... back in the day... before Yelp life... wow... I remembered that we brought our own food and drinks. The fee for songs was all inclusive with the room rental fee. Since our reservation was for 5pm on a week night, free parking in the small lot was easy. There's also street parking. The cashier at the front was polite and cheerful. We signed in and had no problems during our five hour session. The convenient restrooms were clean and functional. I would return again! Toma Karaoke is under new management. Ambiance is way different. Prices are way higher now and complimentary supplies ( ice, utensil, plates etc.) has fees now. Even the drinks are more expensive. Also fair Warning for their puking policy: it doesn't just apply to their rooms/building. If you vomit on the parking lot , they will charge you an additional $100 still. Been a frequent customer of Toma for years but really disappointed with new management. read more

Needless to say, our crew can grind so peeps brought in crispy gau gee, steamed manapua, pork hash, garlic fries, fried chicken, poke, boiled peanuts, edamame, chips and homemade butter mochi. Located on Beretantia Street about a block west from Isenberg, the distinctive purple storefront can clearly be seen from the street. Parking here is pretty tight even with its own private lot, so I just walked there and on the way stopped at Down to Earth for some vegan snacks and Yama's for soybeans. To be honest the only time I sing aloud is when no one can hear but it's always fun to hang with friends who like to karaoke, and Toma's has a nice vibe even though some of the video seemed dated. My friends come here kind of often and we were looking for a karaoke spot for another friends birthday. This place is next to Anasia and has limited parking. It is BYOB & food which is pretty cool and the workers are super nice. We had about 10 people in our party and the room fit us semi okay but I think we should have paid for a bigger room instead for comfort! Lol! It's been more then 13 years since I've gone to a karaoke place. For my birthday I jus wanted to eat, bowl, and sing with my party of 4. My 10 year old said why not jus stay home and sing and I was like girl not the same. I called this place and asked if kids were allowed and was told as long as no alcohol. Shoots! One Saturday afternoon we picked up some 7-11 and headed to this place. Limited parking. Nice lady greeted us at the front and took us to a room. It was big! We kept having issues with the mics that kept fading in & out. Tiny parking lot that fits around 7 mid-sized cars. They also allow customers to park at Hoku which is close by. Toma Karaoke is the place to be to... Celebrated my mom's b-day down there with ohana and friends! First of all, I called to make a reservation for a party of 10... it was on a weekend, so prices are a bit higher. However, since I did it before 6 pm it was a bit cheaper. All in all, it costed me about $70 per hour, but it was all worth it! Parking is alright, but there are only so many stalls. Luckily our party was early, so we all didn't have trouble finding a stall. As soon as, my mom and I walked inside we were greeted by a worker. She was very friendly and helpful. I gave her my name and from there she explained that whoever is apart of my party needed to sign in with her. Very simple and easy. Afterwards, she took us to our karaoke room. Our room was super clean, pretty spacious and nice. From there she explained to us how to work the karaoke machine with 2 mics (super fancy). Let me just say they have a ton of songs (oldies and updated songs too)! Also, the worker brought in a trash can for us to use and a separate trash can for cans/bottles. You can bring outside food and drinks. She even had plastic cups, which I forgot to bring, so that was awesome (this biz even has coolers on them that your party can use for free). Then, the party began and we all sang like there was no tomorrow. I'd like to say our party room was lit and loud lol. The nice thing was that the worker never bothered us. The only time I went out to her was when one of the microphones wasn't working... she just replaced the batteries and that was that. Last, our time was almost up. However, we were all having such a blast, I asked the worker if we could stay for another hour. Sadly, there was another party coming after us. However, luckily they weren't coming for another 30 minutes, so she let us party until then. Overall, it was time for us to go and well I tipped the worker pretty good cause she was so awesome! It was ok, so dated. We were there on a Sunday asked the price and was told the week day hourly price. So we were caught off guard when we made our payment. We asked why is it more and they told us it's weekend price. You should tell us the weekend price when we asked since we are physically there on a weekend, duh!!! read more

Three times I came from Kaneohe and was refused service because it was just me. Singing is great stress relief and I used to sing in a band, so I started coming down. I always treated the staff with respect and tipped well. But refusing a customer three times really shows how they feel. Don't come here if you don't have a group because they may refuse service. We called the day before for a reservation at 10pm the next night for about 20 people, it was very easy to get a room to fit us all. The room we got was huuuuge. Parking is a bit tight, and the staff are super nice and accommodating. We brought in our own alcohol and cake as we were celebrating a birthday and they had extra forks. Wanting to sing to your heart's content, but you have some friends/family who are under 21? This is the place for you! It is spacious, located in McCully. Since the rooms are very spacious, you can ask for instruments (tambourines, macaras) in the front desk when you enter. They have a wide selection of songs, but are not updated to the most recent songs. You can bring your own food and drink, BUT if you bring friends/family who are under 21, they may prevent you from drinking alcohol and will check your ID as a heads-up. They have their own private lot, but it can be very limited, so I recommend RSVP around 7pm, since after 6pm, street parking is free on weekdays/Saturday. I really like how they have lights and that the staff teaches you on how to use their karaoke machines. When I'm in the mood to belt my heart out and sing like I do in the shower, there's other place I'd rather sing at the top of my lungs than at Toma's. Great for groups, my friends and I love it here. The staff are always kind and helpful this place is even kind enough to go the extra mile and offer you a cooler and ice. This place has definitely seen better days, but the staff here work hard to keep it clean. Toma's is BYOB/BYOF, can't go wrong with that (and if you're a Cafe Anasia's lover like me, my go-to is usually walking next door to place an order from their kitchen... and take a few shots before bringing the food back to the karaoke room). Parking here can be tricky because their lot can fit about 5-8 cars, but for me I'll usually carpool/catch a Lyft or park on the street... depending on how loose we wanna get. With plenty of space to spread out, Toma's has a lot of pretty spacious rooms to karaoke in. Most rooms have at least one large tv, a great speaker/sound system, and an EXTENSIVE list of songs to choose from. From K-pop to Kalapana, ABBA to Ariana Grande, I'm pretty sure they're gonna have the song you're looking for. All in all, if you're looking to let loose, and interested in having a good time singing out loud this is where you want to be. My best advice: call ahead and make a reservation; on weekends this place is always poppin' so it'll usually be tough or you'll have to be extremely lucky to just walk-in. read more

Wow, these rooms are huge! First time here and I was pleasantly surprised with the large, clean, well lit rooms. Huge table provided for your food and drink (its BYOB and BYOF). Outstanding selection of songs, several books provided so you don't have to fight over one book. . . . . and plenty of Japanese songs too! Adorable older couple run this place, and they are so helpful and friendly. They have a variety of rooms for large parties which worked out well for us. You can bring your own food and drinks. Their microphone and music choices weren't bad. I wish they had more than one song book though. But their controller did allow you to search for songs. They close at midnight. The bathrooms we're disgusting though, it didn't even have paper towels or a hand dryer. Service was nice and we paid $160 for about 10 people and we had the room for about 2.5 hours I think? We would definitely go back. But I'll probably drink less so I won't need to use the gross bathrooms. I'll hold it. Haha! read more

I rented the room that was able to connect to YouTube. It worked great but ac wasn't working. They moved us over to one that did work a few minutes after. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and system was good enough. Machine was kinda hard to use took us a while to get the hang of it. They also provide ice and coolers as well. read more

What a nice place. It's not fancy nice but great for partying. We had room #6 which could hold about 20-30 people. Nicely air conditioned and clean. The carpet is a little old but not too bad. It's BYOB and BYOF here which is great. We brought our own coolers with alcohol and outside food. The owner at the front is really pleasant to deal with. They have some refreshments like soda and juice at the front to purchase if in case you forget your drink. But they DO NOT serve alcohol. Only con I can come up with is parking. Parking is tight and very limited. We ended up parking out on the street. No Valet service either. I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place in town for some drinking, singing and dancing...well just don't dance on the tables lol!!! read more
