I drive by this place often, but every single time I do, they're closed. It's either due to it being to early in the morning when I'm off to Meijer or on a Sunday when I'm doing other stuff. Since I was starving and it was a random Friday, I finally got a chance to stop in and eat. It's on the smaller side but more of a long, narrow type place. There's plenty of seating and the menu and register are located right in front when you walk in. I reviewed the menu on the TV's above (they also have paper ones if needed) and the nice gentleman talked me through the ordering process. They have larger dinner entree dishes here, but he pointed out their sandwiches which were much smaller in size since I didn't want a ton of food. I got the beef shawarma which was made fresh by the nice cook behind the wall in the kitchen. You can get fries or rice as a side with the sandwiches which is great. I went with fries, which were okay. There's also fountain pop here which was great, but cans of pop or water in the front if that's what you'd prefer. My total with a drink was around $13 which wasn't to terribly bad. Food was good and it seemed to match the price point. I ordered a Fattoush Salad (in at least 100 places as I travel across the country often) hands down this was the BEST salad & chicken kabob I have tasted in years! The chicken was super moist with just the perfect seasoning & a tad charred - OMG making me hungry now just remembering it! The dressing catapulted the salad to the 100th power! SO GOOD!! My husband ordered a mix chicken & beef sandwich (he is a picky guy) he said it rocked!!! We ordered chicken Shawarma sandwich at lunchtime. The bread was cracking and dry and the chicken was tough. The garlic sauce, has little to no flavor and the rest is pickles and tomato. I had heard great things about this place and this is our second time trying it, but I'm gonna stay with Grape Leaves in Troy. Completely different and so much better food. Without a doubt, one of my favorite lunch spots! The owner and his wife are fantastic people, always friendly and they keep a clean restaurant. They care about their customers and the food & service, recognizing their regulars and thanking them for coming in. The sandwiches and plates are all good. I personally go for the falafel or the chicken dishes as my favs. Food is cooked to order and the flavorings are right and not overpowering. Those crispy fries always make me eat more than I should. The Krazy Shawarma offers only fresh ingredients and you can tell it's homemade and you can tell in the dishes they make. If you love Mediterranean food, you will be blown away! They have a lot of heart and love in their food that it's just Krazy! We ordered hummus and garlic sauce, honestly the best I've ever tasted and the pita bread was non like no other. You will love it! We ordered some meat pita wraps and a tabbouleh salad. I would recommend the lamb, it's my favorite! I love the Baklava too and I don't like Baklava normally, but this dessert at this location, I'm sure you will love too! The owners introduced themselves and shared how they make things in house. After driving past this place a few times on my way to the grocery store I thought to give it a shot and I was not disappointed. Upon walking in I was greeted by the friendly staff and placed my order. I ordered the krazy chicken shawarma sandwich and a cup of lentil soup for dine in. In just minutes of sitting down I was served my soup with a large piece of pita. The soup was so comforting and the perfect flavor. Soon after came the sandwich and I was blown away. Nice crunchy grilled bread that was filled with perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken, caramelized onions, peppers and mushrooms and the creamiest cheese. By far one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. This family owned business is kept in great shape and they do a phenomenal job in making their customers feel welcomed, appreciated and most importantly satisfied with their meal. While staying a nearby hotel, we visited this Krazy Shawarma place once we got settled for the evening. Even though it was close to closing time, the (who I assume are the owners) accommodated us. We ordered chicken shawarma sandwich, beef shawarma plate, and falalfel. The chef/owner made everything fresh, and took his time cooking despite his restaurant closing. I wish I asked his name, but I'm sure I'll be back so I will ask him then. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The meat was juicy, rice was cooked perfectly, and the garlic sauce was mouth watering. (Like..I wished I had a soup cup full of the garlic sauce!) The chicken lemon rice soup needed a little salt and pepper (provided in the bag), and didn't have the lemony zing I was expecting. It could've used a little boost to the flavor. It was still a heartwarming cup of soup, but I'll try the lentil next time. My boyfriend had falafel and I tried a few pieces..wow!! It was crispy and had all the flavors you'd look for in falafel. You could tell it was deep fried as they were a little oily, but I blotted them with napkins and didn't have an issue. I did not try his chicken shawarma sandwich, but the pita was crunchy and the inside looked tasty! The owner spoke with us as we got our order and explained how they had just re-opened in September and was grateful to have new customers and hoped we would return, bringing other local friends! I am happy to report I gladly recommend Krazy Shawarma to anyone looking for their shawarma fix! I love being able to support a family owned small business. read more
