Very disappointing for a business that touts it's "Best of Chico" awards. Good dentist but unfortunately very poor office management. I've had 4 dental hygiene appointments rescheduled, sometimes having to wait 4-5 months. Ridiculous. They say I should come in twice a year for hygiene appointments, but their poor scheduling keeps me from being able to do this. Very unprofessional. The office it's self is beautiful has many different themed rooms, the staff was very friendly! And the dentist was extremely nice. Now to why I'm leaving only two stars...the prices on EVERYTHING!! this office doesn't not take any kind of dental insurance. The price quoted for a deep cleaning is $738 per quadrant!! That is insane!! I contacted my neighbors dentist, who is also here in Chico...who does except insurance and my cost would be hundreds of dollars less, per quadrant! If you don't care about cost then this is a very nice office, but the prices here are extremely expensive, even without insurance the other dentist is still so much less expensive. read more

I've never had a bad experience but this practice does charge a lot more and isn't in network with my provider. I was a patient for years seeing Dr Kremer. . He's awesome. But than I saw his associate Dr McKinney. I wasn't formed I would be seeing a different doctor. I had a bad tooth that is borderline needing a root canal but he said he can try to save by filling. Huge mistake. Big mistake. I had to go to emergency room for antibiotics and seek another dental office close to home afterwards and have a root canal. Not sure why this office had me see a dentist I was not seen by before. There was zero continuity in the care I was getting. I moved away 4 years ago and they continue to call and mail about me missing care. They left a bad taste (tooth) in my mouth. read more

For a normal cleaning they are booked out 6-12 months, that is how far in advance I have to book my cleanings. The last 2 appointments they have called to reschedule because they didn't have a hygienist, and those appointments are then another 2-3 months out. I've waited awhile and thought about not writing a review, but recently they called and I found myself being rude and somewhat angry, now I feel like I should say something. I had a couple of bad experiences here. The worst was getting a crown put in, spending $2000 and it breaking in less than a year. I'm not rich, I didn't have insurance except their 3rd party insurance. I was told the crown should last roughly ten years. I was so frustrated/annoyed by it breaking that I didn't even want to talk tol them, and try to have them fix it. Maybe thats my fault for not communicating a failure of their work/product. Unfortunately I spent $2000 and have to find a different Dentist to fix it. I had Dr. McKinny before, and he was good, but the other two times it was a really young doctor, and maybe he just didn't have that much experience. I tried looking him up because I couldn't remember his name, but I can't find him on the staff. read more

I found it very frustrating because when I went there, Alma I believe was the coordinator but when I asked to speak to her I was told she would call me back. I have never received a call back. Really great experience at Kremer dental. Over the last year I've had a lot of work done and everyone is terrific! Stephanie the hygienist is so nice and professional. Dr. McKinney has a real gentle touch. Sandy is very kind and skillful. And Dr. Kremer gave me back my smile. I wish I could remember all the staff by name because they are all GREAT! Very poor dental care. When I was getting my crown, the dental assistant said "These are garbage. I hate them."; I wasn't sure what she was referring to. However, now I'm thinking it might be the material they use to do temporary crowns. I had pain/discomfort immediately from my crown and couldn't eat on that side. I noticed two days after receiving the crown that there was a hole in the top of it and a wide gap at the gumline. Three days after the temporary crown was placed it came off while I was eating soft food and cracked in half. When I called to speak with the office manager, she basically told me it depends on how well I take care of it and what I eat. She did not take any responsibility for the the strong possibility that poor dental care was given. I will not be returning to this office to receive my permanent crown and absolutely do not recommend this dental office to anyone. read more

Nice office, dentists are caring and proffessional. But their "financial" staff is ill trained and terse. I was charged more than estimate, on top of my Insurance assuring me they are "In network and the staff charging extra stating they are "Not"in Network. I have reported this. So be sure you can afford several $100 over their "estimate!" And no ability to make payment arrangements. read more

I had a filling replaced at Kremer Dental Care. The dentist was very good and the assistant , Tabitha (who did most of my care) was beyond amazing. Her ability to help you feel comfortable showed just how thoughtful, sensitive and observant she is. When the safety type glasses fogged up she placed a little cotton roll at the bridge to stop it. She took extra care to keep some of those awful tasting materials away from my tongue, and she kept any pulling of my mouth to a minimum. I left feeling very pleased with the whole process. I'm moving to Chico soon & will be needing a new dentist. So I went to Kremer Dental and this nice lady named Julie showed me around the office, she was really nice. I toured the office about a month ago & just fell in LOVE with the staff. I feel very comfortable at this office it feels like home inside & its so beautiful like a tea room. I definitely will be going here for all my dental needs, this dental office is like no other. They have very cute rooms to get your cleaned. They have have fresh baked cookies & they make you custom espresso drinks while you're there. Julie severed me my mocha and cookies she was really really nice. Can't wait to go back for their "Coffee of the month" it was almond mocha when I was there, it tasted like marzipan...which is my FAVORITE!!!! read more

"I went to the office twice the first time I had a evaluation and didn't have my full dental insurance information up to date. I was told in the most friendly manner to come back and they would re-evaluate the estimate I received when I came the first time and update the information with my dental plan. I made an appointment to see Dr. Kremer himself. Instead of just viewing the information previously provided I went through another evaluation and the Dr. while excusing himself for being frank was actually quite rude. He essentially refused to provide me with the updated estimate I was promised and "guessed my insurance would only cover 1,000.00 which I found out later it would cover 2,000 and with spreading out the major work over the two calendar years it would have saved me 4,000. I think he is more interested in keeping his MEGA operation(s) fueled with comprehensive services rather than actually helping folks with their dental problems. I am thinking that all the staff at his facilities and their friends and relatives are behind the "Best in Chico" voting...but for my experience, I experienced the "difference" from what he advertises in his smiling commercials and it is far from what I expected. I shared my experience with friends who have gone to him and they are now also seeking other providers now too! Thanks Dr. Kremer for nothing.... Jeff, I read your response and it is always easier to back pedal...and simply quote your philosophy and others experiences which might seem to rationalize your business conduct. My son was about to get braces put on. But needed a cleaning before. So I found dr kremers office and scheduled an appointment for my son to have a cleaning. So we delay the braces for a month and go in for the cleaning. Well we pay $249 what we thought would cover the cleaning. Turn out they cant do the cleaning that day and the $249 was just to evaluate and tell us he needed a cleaning. The appointment was originally made for a cleaning. Then they tell us that would be scheduled for a later day. Which now puts the braces out even longer. I WILL NEVER AGAIN GO THERE! Frustrated parent. read more

Dr Kremer had done 4 caps on my top front teeth. Since then I've had to go back in 3 times to have them figure out what's going on. Now the top teeth are wearing my bottom teeth down as well as the top teeth hitting the wrong place on the bottom teeth. I just saw Dr. McKinney the second time regarding this issue. Nothing was done to fix the problem. Yet more money is needed to support my bottom teeth. Due to missing some teeth in the back is being used as an excuse why this is happening. I don't believe that being the case at all. I was given a quote to fix the problem, according to Dr. McKinney they need another $20.000.00 for implants or $2800.00 for a partial, plus fillings on the teeth which are wearing too far down already. So far I have paid maybe about $12.000.00. I'm very disappointed at the care I have received. read more

I would love to give these guys five stars, but due to their billing system causing me frustrations over and over I can't. I will start with the good though. In terms of dental care, I think this is the best dentist I have ever been to. From the moment you walk in they have good customer service, offer you cookies and coffee (which I thought was odd but loved). The offices are decorated beautifully with different themes, and dr. Kremer and his staff are great. Plus they do try to help your budget by offering payment plans. The bad: I don't think I ever had a visit to this dentist where they didn't mess up my billing. Almost every time I would get bills with the wrong amount. This is frustrating to me for a few reasons, the first being that I work full time and could only resolve it over the phone if I gave up my lunch time at work. Also frustrating because I didn't realize what was happening at first and would pay twice because I assumed they knew what they were talking about. It wasn't until my husband became a patient also (do to my referral) and he got billed twice that he pointed it out to me. They did always resolve it easily, it's just time consuming. Dr. Kremer's office is the best in Chico! They achieve this on several levels. First, Dr Kremer and his staff are really good at giving high quality dental care. Second, their support staff are very methodical at giving you a great, caring and calming experience. Third, it is a nice place, a beautiful building and great rooms that seem nothing like a dental office. They treat you very well, it feels more like a 4 star spa than a dental office. To start, the first appointment is very thorough, and they spend a lot of time going over any issues you have. They even have a dental anxiety coach and lots of things to help with any fears you have. Dr. Kremer himself is very calm, professional, and did a great job with our family's teeth. Not only was he very good at dentistry, he is just a really nice guy. When you are with the Hygienists, they are so nice, and even have a warm paraffin dip to use on your hands. You can choose whatever movie to watch. His dental assistant is also excellent All the rooms have a theme, and have movies to watch to distract you. They don't charge more for nitrous. They go over everything including what insurance covers. When I had my wisdom tooth out they called me daily to see if I was ok. I have been coming here since I was little after our family bounced between a few places and they are the hands down best dentist in Chico. Don't be put off by their silly commercial or unique location in a family neighborhood, this place is top notch and a great dentist experience from their scheduling and administrative staff through the dental hygienists all the way up to Dr. Kremer. Stephanie is the best, hands down. She remembers details about our family and interests that makes any stop here more like a visit to a family friend than going to the dentist. She is knowledgable about my needs and concerns in comparison to my sisters (e.g. I care about stain a ton more, my sisters get lots of cavities and fillings) and provides realistic expectations for each. The facility is very warm and tasteful such that you forget you're in a office at all. It is a little dated for my tastes and rich for Chico but it works. It is notable that they do not sacrifice cleanliness for decor, aka the office is still immaculate. WE also had a schedule snaffu between my sisters and I as we were all to come int he week of Thanksgiving. The staff was nothing but helpful and kind through the whole ordeal but sending reminders, putting us on wait lists, and keeping us updated on any changes. Honestly the technology is wonderful, the actual visit is great but they are ruined by their billing and scheduling staff. They are such a big headache that I'm taking my business elsewhere. Me and my fiancée have had billing issues every single time we visit. One billing issue took 6 months to resolve and my last request was to please have my name put on a list for an appointment after quarantine. Empty promises again. They just don't care about their patients period. Customer service is nonexistent unless you're physically in their building. This place is very unorganized. Every time I went in I would get a difference in opinion. They ended up never giving me product that I had already paid for and was owed. His dental procedures are completely over priced and he charges at least double what other dentists charge. I consistently felt like I was taken advantage of. He had me do an endorsement TV commercial and never let me approve it. He also never gave me a thank you or anything in return. Big thanks to Paige for responding to my email- I never would've went in with my phobia... Best experience you could ask for. If you're curious for an up-to-date review and honest feedback, then check this out. The office is Immaculate with the interior design, the vibe felt really good. I have dental phobia and didn't even need to mention it as I felt completely comfortable throughout the whole experience. I read reviews about billing issues, about being charged twice, about being overcharged, etc. In my experience, this was FAR from the truth and NOT TRUE at least with my observations both with the estimate, billing, and reviewing my insurance claim. I was greeted by staff, brought back to my room, and both the assistant and Dr. Kremer we're extremely transparent with me on my options and considerations while visually showing me the problem areas in my mouth and how to work around it. Dr. Kremer was spot-on with my estimate and very transparent, which was extremely appreciated. He seems like a good-intentioned dentist and is very good at his craft. He actually has been staying fresh on latest trends and technology based on the conversation we had. I talked further with billing to go over options and they were very kind and understanding while also being transparent to my questions. People need to understand that these variables like the office experience, technology, resources- I could see how these might drive price up but based on online estimates and calculators that I did- the estimate was within 5-10% (of delta dental's online dental cost estimate tool). So... I did my homework far before and after my visit as this is a large investment for me. They were very understanding about this. We also went over timeline expectations and how soon I need the work done, so there was no questions left unanswered when I left my first visit / consultation with x-rays. My only uneasiness was- that we had to schedule some of the appointments out a month or two (but I would imagine that's a good sign that your dentist is busy with a lot of patients). I will probably come back to give an update, but I wouldn't be surprised if my experience thus far- matches in the future as I am very pleased so far. There were people commenting on being double-billed, and let me tell you- there are some big differences between in and out of network insurance agencies (and I'm sure there is another side to that story). My insurance was out of network, and as a courtesy from the office they actually submitted my claims for me and got paid and adjusted/balanced my account to represent the insurance payment. Translation: I was not double billed and my insurance was billed- even though out of network and it being a courtesy by the dental office to submit my claims (as-opposed-to submitting the claims myself). In summary, I felt, feel, and predict I will feel very satisfied with the work that has been done thus far and work done in the future. If you want a really nice office, great experience, and kind staff- go here. From my experience thus far, I highly recommend it.
