I just wanted something for takeout. I got the large griot plate with diri kole and potato salad. It's one of the better ones in the area. The potato salad I mean and it's usually not available so I was happy to get it. Griot is best served fresh from the fryer. It doesn't lend itself to sitting around. At times it can be dry so it really depends on when you come here but it tastes great regardless. Slightly intimidating to order if you can't speak Kreole but I got the job done. The menu was clear with the items and prices. You could see most of the food before making a purchase. Although I order primarily from this place on Uber Eats; I've visited a few times . They get a lot action, my go to is the stew chicken with rice and peas with plantains and macaroni salad. Never disappoints, if you're unfamiliar with Haitian cuisine don't be. The food is well seasoned and they'll help you if you're overwhelmed. It's a lot to take in first visit. Try it out. Yes yes yes. Now I'm a little ashamed to admit how long it took me to finally try Haitian food being that I'm Dominican and we literally come from the same place but hey better late than never right? There are actually quite a few restaurants around me but unfortunately almost all of them lack reviews on Yelp and Google. When it comes to ordering food delivery, that's something that will deter me from ordering. Only because I didn't grow up in this part of Brooklyn so if I haven't seen the place in person, I tend to get worrisome. Trust me, I know that some of the best places to eat are the little hole in the wall spots and some of my favorite places to eat fit that description but I have to personally know the place and have been there to trust it. Anyway, I was really craving Caribbean cuisine and went with this location because it had great customer reviews on Doordash. I ordered the Griot with rice and beans in the large size. It came so quick and piping hot. I guess when you order the large they send the meat and rice separately? Don't quote me on that. The rice came in a huge aluminum container and was more than enough to feed 2-4 people. The meat however came in the regular round aluminum container. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I ordered the large in order to have leftovers. I had PLENTY of rice left, however because the griot also came with three tostones (fried plantains) and lots of onions all packed in a smaller container, it was not a full serving of meat. It was fricking delicious but they sent me all that rice and a side of potato salad (not sure if that was a mistake or complimentary) to eat with a small amount of meat in comparison. It should be the same size. Yelp won't let me upload the video so a screenshot will have to do. Let's get into the flavor though. That griot was *chefs kiss* and I knew it would be because of where we come from hello. Our cooking methods are literally the same and that pork wasp tender yet had a beautiful color to it from being fried after stewing. There were a few pieces that had fat on them that made my whole day. Pickled onions balanced the fattiness right out. The pikliz was so refreshing and just the right amount of spice to pair with the tostones. The free potato salad was also really good and I'm reaaaaalllly picky about that. The rice was a tad bit underwhelming in terms of flavor on its own but paired with the meat it was great. The total was $30. The food was just okay. The large entrees come with so much rice a 2 pieces of green plantain. The stew chicken was okay. The broth was the most exciting part about it. I recommend Kreyole Flavor to a friend who asked me if i hated her lol. She then asked what I thought of the reviews. I had to admit, I never read them, so I did. They're pretty accurate. Unfortunately the quality of the food is not good anymore and the prices keep going up. So, bad service, highest prices in the area and now the food isn't as good. No good reason to go back. I have never been so disappointed in doing business with my own people. I live in NJ. I have gone to that place twice to buy food. I can say the food is good but the customer service is bad. I met 2 cashiers who probably are blood related, maybe mother and daughter. I feel that my presence in the store was bad news to those people just because I requested a food that I ordered on the phone. THE rudest and worst service in a restaurant. The staff at the counter act as if you are bothering them even at the moment you approach them to place your order. I have been going there for years. I have tolerated the servers' brash communication style and excused the rude responses because it is a very busy restaurant, the food is consistently good and because I live 2 hours away and don't want to go home and be disappointed with my and families food. Yesterday, was definitely the worst encounter I have experienced. When I entered the restaurant there were only 3 other customers ahead of me, but they looked like they had being waiting there a while. I wanted to be sure they had the food that I wanted before I stood around and they wouldn't have it. I went and asked if they had my food choice and she told me yes and then said I had to stand on line (of course) I explained that I just wanted to be sure. When it was my turn to order another person was helping me and she gestured to me and stood there without saying anything and waited for me to tell her my order. I gave her my order and she was immediately annoyed in her response. They had music on loud, we both had on a mask and I told her I couldn't hear and she obviously couldn't hear me but she didn't seem to care. I repeated my order and told her I also wanted another item and with an attitude said they didn't have it and immediately went to the back to get my first order. I had to ask for my orders in 3 separate conversations with two different people because they were so short and curt in there mannerism. There is no excuse for this consistently rude behavior other than the fact that their customers have tolerated it for years. They have no sense of how to be courteous to their customers. I spent over 30 minutes in the store and will not be rewarding this type of behavior anymore with my time and my hard earned money. They don't answer their phones when you try to call ahead and no matter how many people they have behind the counters, usually 3 or more, there is a long wait and you are guaranteed to get plenty of attitude. read more

Pros: Food was very good. You get a lot for a good price. Me and my son shared a dinner and still had left overs. My daughter also ordered and for both dinners I paid like $22. Today took the cake though, I was calling in an order and the young lady kept stopping me to talk to someone else which I dont mind (it's a business) but right when I made my first order she hung up, no that's all? Thank you for your order? Anything else?
