Ho, ho, ho! That's the feeling you immediately get when you walk into this year-round Christmas shop in the Bavarian-like town of Leavenworth, Washington. I'm a sucker for Christmas, so entering Kris Kringl's makes me feel all warm and hearthy inside. Unfortunately, it's towards the 'end' of Main Street in Leavenworth, and each time my family visits the pretty little mountain town, we start on the 'beginning' side of Main Street. By the time we make our way all the way down past and through the numerous other trinket shops, candy stores, and restaurants with bratwurst, it's nearly time to get in the rent-a-car and drive back to Lacey. My recommendation...start from Kris Kringl's so you give it the time and attention it deserves. They have a nice mix of modern Christmas decorations and ornaments, along with more traditional stuff. Me and the wifey like the pine cone, owls, and birds made of wood for our tree. We can't walk out of there without at least four or five $15 ornaments. Kris Kringl's is two stories of yuletide bliss, with a person upstairs dedicated to personalizing purchased ornaments. There's more Christmas stuff than there is room to walk, but that's what makes it feel cozy...that, coupled with the smell of apple cider and the sound of holiday music constantly streaming into your noggin. You won't be disappointed visiting this store, or the town of Leavenworth for that matter...especially at Christmas time like my family did. Christmas is everyday at Kris Kringl. This 2 story shop features seasonal decorations for your home. Elaborate displays of over-sized ornaments and other unique decors greeted us as we entered the shop. Icicle lights, delicate glass ornaments, and theme specific decor adorn the shop walls. There is a section dedicated to hand made elves, dolls, and nutcrackers. The back section of the store features Christmas villages, trains, and other motorized miniature decorations. The is also a section full of hand carved navity scenes. The displays immediate put us in the mood for the holidays. The 2nd floor is a continuation of intricately decorated Christmas trees showcasing unique themes and collections. The immense amount of possibilities in gift ideas and seasonal decorations seams limitless in this shop. The styles were a mix of traditional, one of a kind, whimsical, modern, and even intricate. I recommend taking your time to look through the displays. We found ourselves spending over an hour deciding and comparing ornaments for gifts and for our own home collection. Where it's Christmas all year long! Love this place! Two stories, floor, walls and ceilings filled to overflowing of nativity themes, Christmas trees, ornaments, Santas, lights and much, much more. The window displays were gorgeous. Spent hours walking through to see everything. This place has to have the biggest Christmas decor available in a store. We met many employees who were all helpful and ready to help out, dressed out in festive costumes. The nativity scenes were so numerous and were from all over the world. For a Christmas decoration store, Leavenworth is the right town. It is famous for the holiday light during the Christmas. The store is huge I must say, it got two floors and tons of decorations. I was amazed to see so many things I never known they exist. Swirling ornament, silver blue pine cone, merman...so unique. Even not for holiday decoration, they are still wonderful souvenirs. The staff at the store are very nice and friendly, encouraging me to take as many pictures as I like. Next time I'm in Leavenworth, I will definitely take my friend here for a tour. read more

This is a Christmas gift shop located in the heart of Front Street. It looks small from the outside but there are two floors of Christmas awesomeness inside. Everything you ever wanted or are looking for in regards to Christmas, you can probably find in this shop. I love the Christmas holidays so of course, I was totally geeking out in this shop. My Sweetie and I enjoyed perusing every section as we were looking for that one ornament that screams "us" for our memoribilia Christmas tree at home. The staff was upbeat and quite friendly. The Christmas Scrooges may hate this store and complain how commercialized Christmas is, or how this store may "overdo" it, or whatever..... but for those of us who love the holiday and can't get enough of it, or have a tradition of getting their kids a special ornament "just for them" every year, then this store is for YOU! I'm not ashamed to say I love everything CHristmas. I no longer can do it up big, as I threw out my back last year de-Christmasizing my house. But in it's heyday, I've had 7 trees and gazillions of Santa sculptures and berry wreaths on every window - and that's just on the inside. I think Christmas brings out the "holiday spirit" in people - or at least, it should. I'm not even Catholic but I love the holiday for what it SHOULD be about. And because of that, I love stores like this. I've been to many XMas stores, all over the USA, and this is one of my favorites. I love how it's two-storied, and how a gigantic Santa on a gigantic sleigh is suspended from the ceiling, with humongous stuffed animals and wrapped presents in tow. Not only are there every sort of ornament imaginable, but there are also lights and sculptural village pieces and garlands and some artificial trees. They have a few sets of XMas cards, but not many (I wish they'd carry more), but that's my only complaint! The staff are helpful and there are folks to help you find stuff on each floor. Always a fun store to visit when in Leavenworth. I don't really know if it's because Christmas makes me happy or I just have this need to buy something... whatever it is, I love this store. Even if you are not looking for another ornament or lights to add to your tree, this is the place to go if you just want to kill time. You will not see everything in the store, but you are bound to find something that catches your eye. The first floor offers Christopher Radko ornaments, elves and fairies by Mark Roberts and Old World Christmas ornaments to name a few. The second floor houses all the other "fun" ornaments from Seahawks to career specific (nurses, teachers, etc) to family ornaments they can personalize for you. They also have Christmas village items and nativity sets. If you haven't been inside this store, you need to plan on it the next time you are in town. It's definitely worth it! read more

Christmas all year round store! There's something magical about this place, especially around the holidays time. The whole store is Christmas theme (all year round!). Very cute, magical place to just browse though. There are interesting things like upside down Christmas trees, Christmas town decoration in different themes like Alpine Christmas, New English Christmas, etc. Even if you don't end up buying anything from this store, it's still worth the time to just stop by and browse through it. This store is good if you love, LOVE Christmas or if you're looking for a specialty Christmas item. However, two major issues this this store. 1. It's unreasonably expensive. I understand that artisan level decor comes with a cost but a lot of the items are priced to exploit people's love of the holidays. 2. Never have I gone into a shop in Leavenworth with such rude staff. The only reason I'm really even writing a review is to warn people about the difficult staff. I'm sure this place is normally lovely, but several edibles into the morning and it becomes a deeply precarious and overwhelming ordeal to walk through the store. Overall, the lights and tiny sets were delightful but some of the Christmas elves they have are truly terrifying. Ok, so this is the kind of place my mother would drag me into and I probably never appreciated it but I took the kiddo in- she loved it, it was like christmas in April, no crowds, attentive staff, great overall. I did spend a chunk of change but I got the items home and put away for christmas- and am very excited for the new additions to our christmas tree!! they have literally every type of ornament you could ever want. seriously. like 3 types of purple grapes or as I am told, they are purple balls- kiddo wanted the $10 grapes, I let her get the $3 ones... Kris Kringl in Leavenworth WA has the best customer service. I bought a battery powered Christmas tree that has tri colored lights and glitter that floats around inside. Both my husband and I noticed it together and wanted it. I never opened it up before we came home which I probably should have done. I did decide to test it out after we got back home and the lights worked fine but the glitter did not move. I called the store right away all ready to get information on how to return it and after the girl talked to her manager, she told me that they would just send me a new one in the mail. I was totally impressed and thankful. Don't hesitate to shop here because they have the best customer service. I love this table top tree and can't wait for Christmas. A++++++ read more

I was very impressed with vast selection of Christmas decorations that was offered in this store. Even though there was a lot of people due to the time of year we were able to navigate the store well. The staff was helpful in trying to direct the flow of foot traffic. The only downfall regarding our experience was my boyfriend got a John Deere snow globe for a friend that was personalized and when we went to go check out an employee politely asked for it so that she could box it. We stood in line to check out and didn't think to check the snow globe. It was only after we got home did we realize that the snow globe was switched and no longer had the personalization. All in all it was a wonderful store, just a bit sad that the snow globe got switched out. read more

I love this place, I love shopping here. This store is beautiful, it feels like you walk into another world, and all of your cares just slip away even if for 5 minutes. The ornaments, and decorations are stunning. The set up, and upside down Christmas tree is so much fun. The prices on the ornaments are reasonable, and I loved getting personalized ornaments this year. The owner helped with my shopping, and was really friendly, the employees are great as well. This place looks like Santa Claus took shelter and had a bit of a hoarding problem., but I LOVE it! Christmas ornaments, lights, table displays, gifts, and more...if you're looking for it, this place has it....365 days of the year. I spent over an hour in this place and was in awe of all the christmas tree displays, twinkle lights, and toy people skating on ice. Every inch of this store is covered in holiday paraphernalia. They even had a small corner full of Halloween decorations, which I thought was nice. Yes, this place is a little expensive, but Kris Kringl provides you with an experience that you can't get from the Holiday section at your local Walmart, Target, __(insert chain store here)_. Eat it up, tourists. Darling little store when you walk in that just keeps going on with Christmas decor! All the glass ornaments are pretty expensive around $12+ depending on if it is designer or not. But this seems to be the going rate in the town as I went into a few other little stores. All the none glass ornaments are relatively inexpensive and I found some cute ones that are around $6 and were different than anything I have seen back home in Seattle. They definitely are prepared for a crowd though especially for the holidays. They had several cashiers waiting up front with some fencing to accommodate the line up. We came in at the right time because as we were trying to walk out I swear I counted 20 PEOPLE in a ROW, walk thru the door. read more

This year I got married and we got our first Christmas tree! I HAD TO GO TO KRIS KRINGLE, because I never had occasion to buy ornaments, and this year I finally did. I made a day trip this last weekend, and it did not disappoint! Kurt Adler ribbons and ornaments bought, whimsical ornaments for future trees, village gifts for friends all bought with great satisfaction. I wish it were a bit more open to be able to walk in, and had another cashier upstairs. Being the holiday season, it was definitely crazy inside. It's so festive to visit!
