Yes, we know of the giant donuts and other types and varieties. Ha, just call us old school then! Friendly staff who handled our overly enthusiastic family who quickly put on all the paper hats, and marveled at the donut making window pretty well. The location itself is very nice. It's modernized and playful. Everything looked clean. The donuts were lovely and consistent with the brand as we have always known it. We bought mugs, left with hats and lots of donuts. We called and thank the gods Jonathan picked up the phone! He was concerned about it being a prank call but after some reassurance, he was so open and accommodating and didn't make us feel stupid, which we really appreciate. I hate to give them a 3, but it seems like since there are so MANY donut places they have just given up. The last 3 times I have been the donuts were either almost stale or down right inedible because they were so hard. Of course I should have opened before getting home, but their drive thru is always long and if I open I would normally want to eat one (that can be awkward while driving. This specific location doesn't have the best customer service, but it's the closest to me and I'm usually in the area. They get my business because it's convenient. My fave location would be the one on North Broadway. I love the old man that seems to always be working when I visit. He provides great customer service and answers all my questions. I always buy donuts on the first Sunday of the month to serve with coffee at our church. They are always fresh and I always clip a coupon for Krispy Kreme donuts out of the local newspaper, so I always get a great deal. They have 14 or 15 different flavors to choose from and I also am a rewards member. After accumulating the required points, you get a free dozen! The people that work here at the Kingston Pile store are the nicest and friendliest that you could ask for! They also have a window where you can actually watch the donuts come down the line and get the glaze applied. It is really cool and there are several tables available if you want to enjoy your freshly made donuts at the store. If you have children, pick up a hat for them and have a party! Normally this is a great shop, not their best today though. Still no tables and only 1 person covering the front counter (Anthony). I walked in at the same time as a couple, they had a lengthy shake & donut order. The server never said hello to me. I waited about 10+ minutes. I noted that there were 2-3 people covering the drive up window ( should have gone there I guess) One of those ladies went to get a donut from the case I was standing near, she said "he'll be with you in a moment". The couple was gone and Anthony was making busy straightening up the coffee / shake area. Then a man walks in and Anthony dashes over your ask how he could help that man! WHAT? Now I don't eat donuts all day, every day, and Krispy Kreme style donuts are not my first choice in "donut style". But when my wife and I have just finished a nice meal on a chilly winters night, but then realize we have nothing sweet to eat for dessert... I order a dozen original Krispy Kreme for delivery. And even though I've already said that their signature style donut isn't my favorite, there's nothing quite like biting into a warm, doughy, fresh, and round sweet treat. And having them delivered is the icing on the cake (no pun intended). Sure, it costs a little more than going to the store myself, but who cares? I won't get the credit card bill for a month lol!! It's almost like it's free! Ok, maybe not that cool, but you get the picture... This is so cool. I love watching the process of making doughnuts. Well the frying and glazing part. They have an employee checking all the finished doughnuts. I asked if I could buy the messed up ones because it looked cute. The oddly shaped ones are usually the best! But they turned me down because they can't sell products that are not up to par for liability purposes. I understand but I'm willing to take that chance! I came after eating Korean for a hot doughnut which means fresh and it was pretty good. It's a known fact that anything fresh tastes better than when it's not so it's judge the performance of all the other doughnuts. This was the first time I have ever stepped foot in a Krispy Kreme establishment. I've had their donuts before, but they were always purchased at a super market, gas station etc. In the back of my mind I thought that all they had was plain glazed donuts, and boy was I wrong. We came here Sunday morning while visiting Knoxville. I'm a little kid when it comes to any type of machine at work so I quickly ran over to the glass window that overlooked their donut machines. I literally stood there for 15 mins and watched hundreds of donuts holes get made. I finally went over to the counter to order my coffee an donuts and I was surprised to find that they actually make tons of different donuts, just like the Dunkin Donuts shops you find on every corner. I LOVE glazed donuts and I was thrilled the see all the different variety of donuts they offer (15+) that include the "glaze" that I'm always looking for. They have glazed donuts with different fillings: crème, custard, raspberry, apple pie, pumpkin cream cheese....it was amazing!!! We ended up getting a dozen donuts -- just for the two of us!! I'm all about having a big traditional breakfast on the weekends. But every now and then all I want is a coffee and a great donut. Krispy Kreme is the place for that. Experiencing a Krispy Kreme that they make donuts! It was extremely cool because behind the counter, they have a glass window that you can look inside with all the machines making donuts! With that being said, you know that the donuts here are super fresh. There's a combo where you get 3 donuts and a drink for about $6! We ordered classic glazed and a side of iced coffee. I feel that my eyes have been opened to the world and now understand why coffee and donuts go hand in hand. Amazing staff, will def be back again!
