Yes, Krispy Krunchy Chicken is indeed located inside a Gas Station. Parking is a bit tight as ... it's a gas station. Chicken, biscuits, onion rings, potatoes .. it all looked good. The weird thing is that it didn't smell like chicken inside. KFC always smells like KFC doesn't it? Anyway, I quickly looked at the menu and ordered the two dark meat chicken meal which consisted of two pieces of chicken and a biscuit. I added a small order of potato wedges because I felt like choosing a veggie option would be wise. My order came up pretty quick and before I knew it, I was back in the car and on my way home to see for myself if they truly lived up to the KFC comparison. Potato wedges: Really good. Perfectly cooked and a small would have been enough to share with someone else for sure. Biscuit: OMG Yum! These babies are delicious. Buttery, soft pillows of heaven in your mouth. Get a dozen .. eat them all. Chicken: I must say, it totally lived up to its name "Krispy". Both pieces were Krispy and not greasy. But more importantly, they were KRISPY. However ... the flavor was lacking for me. The Kernel has this undeniably deliciously seasoned skin that you can't find anywhere else. So if Krispy would spice it up a bit, I think they'd hand a HUGE winning product. Overall the chicken was good and the customer service is friendly and fast. Strangely located at a Valero gas station in Campbell. We heard Krispy Krunchy Chicken in Hayward was amazing, so once we heard about this place, we had to check it out! We got here around 6 and there was a few pieces left. We decided to get all the chicken, tenders, and biscuits since we drove from East SJ. They weren't making more chicken since it was closing at 7 PM. We got our food and the attendant was really nice and accompanying. We decided to eat there since it was still warm. Boy, it was super crispy and crunchy. Definitely lives up to its name! Let me tell you about the biscuits. Amazing. You really don't need honey and butter since it's already made with it. We love chicken and when we heard about Krispy Krunchy chicken coming to San Jose we wanted to try it. We've seen this place in New Orleans. Yes, it's literally gas station chicken. It's a little chicken joint inside a Valero station. I'm a chicken snob and will drive out of my way in strange cities to find the best chicken joints. Sadly, KKC did not live up to expectations. Perhaps it was because we had to drive a distance to pick it up and then drive back and by the time we got to the office the food was a little soggy. It had a lot of seasoning but was a bit salty. The mashed potatoes were very similar to Popeyes. The biscuit is delicious but different. It was a dense buttermilk biscuit glazed in honey. To compare to existing chicken places it's cheaper than Popeyes. However, KFC's is better. Bonchon chicken is better. 99 chicken is better as well. Maybe if you could get it fresh and eat it in your car it would be less of a disappointment. read more

To make your customers feel like their asking for too much isn't good customer service. Food is good but service is horrible, the uppers need to know so they can make correction. But goddamn, the deep fry gods have placed sweet blessings on this place. Even more so the locations where the stalls are right next to the cigarette shelf . The fam and I had the Krispy chicken, shrimp (Popeyes got nothing on KKC when it come to shrimp), the sweet buttery delicious biscuits, and the mashed potatoes and gravy. My husband and I kept seeing some friends check into this place all the time. We realized it was fried chicken from a gas station but since they seem to be big foodies and go all the time, it had to be worth a shot? We first tried KKC a few months ago and oh my goodness, it was surprisingly delicious!! Husband even said he liked it better than Popeye's. The cajun spice is good and the chicken is super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We've gotten their fried chicken meal and also the fried chicken sandwiches. The sides aren't that great so we only get the fries/wedges or the jambalaya. Stay away from the mash. I'm addicted to their biscuits and this says a lot because normally I don't like biscuits at all (most tend to be super dry)!! They are so buttery and soft and I just want to keep eating them even though they probably aren't that great for you. FYI - they have blueberry biscuits (sometimes they aren't out but you can ask and they will make them for you). If you have a large order, call in ahead and they will get you to the front instead of having to wait in the sometimes long line just to order your food. read more

Now for one I know a fresh piece of fried chicken compared to a re-fried piece of chicken and I'm telling you this batch I was served ( family pack ) seemed to be a re-cooked order . The taste had a slight burnt flavor and it was extra greasy which is a sure sign of re-frying . There is the Cajun spice that accompanies the flavors in the chicken which gives it a nice slightly spicy flavor that's really good . But since this particular batch seems to most likely be re-fried caused the chicken to be overly spicy and those with acid reflux you know the difference when you become affected by a food item that's toooo spicy and greasy beyond the norm . This was that BATCH and I was completely unsatisfied because I know this location normally distributes a top ranking product .... NOT that day !!! As a reminder to KKC don't start that bs .... How good can fried chicken be from a gas station setup??? After reading the reviews I felt it was worth checking out, and they had red beans and rice. Reviewers said that it's busy and parking is hard to find. But I must have come at the right time since there was plenty of parking and I scored the only one in the shade under the tree. It was 100° at the time. The food in the hot case look appealing but there wasn't any fish. I wanted to give this place a good test so I ordered a few things, fried fish, a piece of chicken, a couple of biscuits and of course the red beans and rice. Since there wasn't any fish in the hot case they had to make it fresh. So after a few minutes wait he pulled the order together. To say the least I was really happy with everything. The chicken that came out of the case was very crispy and still moist. The biscuits, like everyone has said, were great. They had a honey glaze over them. I was really looking forward to the fish, but it was under seasoned and tasted a little flat. But nothing that a little tartar sauce or salt couldn't fix. Then came the red beans and rice. I ordered a large size hoping it would be good and I wasn't disappointed. Good smokey flavor in the sauce and plenty of rice. And it came piping hot. This place has the most legit fried chicken in the South Bay. As a reference, one of my favorite fried chicken chains is Church's. Unfortunately, the nearest location is up in Oakland and I am not too proud to say that I have made the trip more than once to get some Church's Chicken. Now I give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ everyday since I discovered KKC. The spicy fried chicken here is spectacular! The breading is pure crunchy spice and the meat is marinated and juicy. Pre-COVID-19 this place is our favorite for fried chicken. This is my second bad customer service experience so I have to warn you. There's a confusion once you walk in where the line is. If you're ordering chicken you're going to a longer time than what they tell you. There are two registers so I don't understand why they didn't use it to separate the gas/other purchase and the deli/chicken line. They can't seem to sale chicken there the two times I came. I finally got up to line after I let all the gas purchase go by that was behind me. He takes my order and tells me that they're missing fries and it will take 5mins. 5mins goes by fries come out. He takes other people's orders and while I'm watching the fries disappear to people who are ordering it. 10mins goes by the biscuits are gone and 1/2 the fries are left. 15mins goes by and the tenders are out. So I finally went up and asked if my order was ready. Honestly I'm sure he forgot about me. He makes another excuse and tells me it's another 5mins. I was confused because all the items are out. By the time I was done 35mins goes by. There's customer chaos in the tiny store. I'm going to savior my chicken tonight because I won't be back to that chaos in a while. I'd never heard of it, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's only 4 miles away so I drove to the gas station where it's located. The staff was super friendly, and the chicken was extremely fresh and I had my 12-piece tenders handed to me within 3 minutes, piping hot. My son and I sampled it right away. It was still almost too hot to eat but it had amazing flavor, large sized pieces and extremely moist and tender. It has a wonderful flavor with just an inkling of Cajun seasoning. It's not hot, so I think tender palate people can eat it too. I find the price for what you get to be very reasonable, and very fast service. I ordered two chicken sandwiches and while waiting I just happened to catch than person behind the wall back of cashier. Lo and behold I managed to see through a small opening and watched my food being prepared with bare hands, including the pickles he picked out with his bare fingers. Come here frequently it's usually good if you come before they close the chicken won't be good come around 2:30 it's freshest. If you get the older Indian man at cashier or the short Indian woman with the pretty eyes then you've won those are the best cashiers you don't have to repeat yourself. One time came here with a friend and while it was busy and they forgot my order so after 30 mins I asked where it was and they said I got it already but I never did. They refused to give me my food and I had to pay twice for the 6 piece tender which is not cheap.
