My friend was craving fried chicken so of course, we went straight to Yelp. After reading the reviews we rushed right over. Yes, Krispy Krunchy Chicken is in a little Deli in the inside of a gas station that is located in Campbell; which made it all the better. The deli is the first thing you see when you walk in the door, and all the chicken is on display. The display is very similar to the set up at your local 7-11. The parking lot is small, but it wasn't crowded when we arrived. The chicken is extra crunchy for sure but was not as spicy as I like my cajun chicken. The spice is more on the lines of mild at Popeyes, but the Crunch is crunchier than anything at KFC. The prices are reasonable, and the chicken was hot and tasty. They also server krispy shrimp, cajun fish, honey butter biscuits, and fries. Their sides include mashed potatoes 7 gravy, jambalaya, red beans & rice, and mac-n-cheese. They have something called boudin bites; rice, pork, cajun seasonings that are battered and deep fried. These sounded tasty, but they didn't have any at the time, so we didn't get to try them. They ask that you call in your large orders and if you are in a hurry you can order ahead for pickup too. I will be back for more. I've had their food for about a year now. No this isn't super duper authentic fried chicken that my friends mom makes in the south BUT considering local alternatives - this is good chicken in regards to the fast food FC and not more expensive sit down FC. Flavorful that's different from Popeyes or KFC - and value ? 8 pieces dark onsite is 8.99 and delivery on DD is 10.99 - that's the price of some 3 piece or 4 piece meals at the others so value is great. The chicken is slight spicy and the skin is in between KFC extra crispy and regular. The honey biscuit is less fluffy than PP/KFC but is honey flavored so less plain if you don't want to load on extra honey or butter unlike PP/KFC. The other sides are pretty standard compared to the others though the fries portion is better and the boudin bites though small are crunchy and flavorful. We used to champion hole in the walls and greasy spoons and for the value and taste - fried chicken out of a Valero gas station is a welcomed surprise! read more

I have been here a few times and I love this chicken. Its crispy & some say its dry but mine has never been dry. I always get the family meal with tenders & mixed chicken, biscuits * fries. We get extra sides of red beans & rice and mac-n-cheese. The beans and mac is always flavorful. I saw they also have a breakfast menu. They also have a menu inside on a chalk board with sandwhiches, breakfast sandwhiches and seafood. I haven't tried the breakfast but they have blueberry biscuits....yes !!! They have a chorizo & egg empanadas. If you go, this place is inside a gas station ( dont be scared) it's all good. Every time I have tried coming to this location, they are out of food, Every other location I've been to in the Bay Area is great. Always plenty of food, no matter what time of day. But not here. They will take your order, process your payment and send confirmation that your order will be ready in 10 mins. When you arrive, nothing is ready. 1st time we waited an additional 45 mins for them to prepare our chicken, and it was pretty yummy. Next week we pre-ordered, pre-paid, got confirmation 10mins, etc. When we arrived to pick-up chicken, they insisted that they never received order, never processed payment, and had no chicken ready. I love fried chicken and you can say that although this chicken comes from a gas station (yes, from inside a Valero gas station), I'll still say it's in my top 5 favorite chicken places because it's that Delicious (that's right, with a capital D, lol). The chicken is juicy, crunchy and has great flavor, and even comes in this cute little barn looking box. And it comes at a pretty good price too! The sides are okay, but the biscuits were surprisingly good. If you're ordering for a big party, I suggest you call in to pre-order, just in case. Love this place! A friend told me about it and i was skeptical about chicken at a gas station. Decided to give it a try and i knew immediately why he recommended it. Chicken has an awesome flavor with a slight kick to it. The texture is great, with a nice crunch. Highly recommend it. About an hour ago we went to purchase a family chicken meal deal as we always do, there is some extremely toxic construction of some sort going on in the intersection of the gas station. There is a smoke that smells so strong and chemically filled in the air, still went into the gast station unit for the restaurant part and the smell in the store was a hundred times worse than outside. I'm sure if you light a match there could be a fire of some sort? The stench is so horribly awful and the men working there selling this chicken are clueless to it. My head instantly hurt and my chest even with a mask on is burning. We drove all the back home to south san jose to sit down and eat what we just paid $34.99 for and it is HORRIBLE that the chicken and fries all taste and smell like the chemicals of that surrounding area. I called to inform the men working there who just are oblivious and says its impossible to have all the food taste bad. All he is offering is to replace the food, the same food that is all pan-fried and sitting on display for sale. I pray no one gets ill from this food. He would not even offer a refund nor would he acknowledge the situation, instead tells me it is impossible and just put the phone down and continues to work. I even said he should NOT be selling this to people right now with that horrific and toxic smell in the air, again ignores me and just says impossible. NEVER AGAIN!!! Very dissatisfied with this location. We eat at 2 other locations that are very consistent. The chicken was old, dry and over spiced and not hot. The biscuit was soaked in the honey butter. When we go there, we always buy 20 pieces like regular or some combinations and used to cost just over $20 a year ago. Today, we went there and ordered 20 pieces as usual but found that it cost $31. We bought them anyway and tasted still good, but considering the price, we will not go there any more. We know that the inflation is about 8% right now under Biden Administration, but $20 to $31 just over a year doesn't make sense. It must be an opportunistic price increase. She was a bit skeptical because the chicken spot was located in a gas station. We ordered about 7 dark meat and 2 biscuit and a side of fries. Overall the chicken was juicy and very crispy... but the biscuit was amazing! They serve everything out of a gas station but the place is nice and clean. No nonsense, just order, pay, grab your food and go.
