I've heard great things about this place but it took me a while to convince myself to try out fried chicken from a gas station. But once I did about two years back, I've been a fan. Who knew gas station fried chicken could taste this good. Also, I've tried a few other Krispy Krunchy locations, but none come close to this location in terms of taste and quality. Ordering is simple and fast - tell the guy at the counter what you want, he prints out a bill for you which you use to pay at the billing counter, and then you pick up your order. I generally go for the chicken plus biscuit combo and more often than not, finish the biscuit in the car while driving back home. When they are out of biscuits or if I want more than 4 pieces of chicken, I go for the 8 piece chicken and I have to say it is an unbeatable deal for 8 pieces of hand breaded chicken plus taxes at less than 20 bucks. Yes, the cajun seasoning can sometimes get a tad too salty, but generally, they really nail the flavor at this location. The chicken is always fresh here and they do sometimes run out of chicken, which means you'll need to wait to get piping hot chicken; otherwise service is generally super fast. Krispy Krunchy Chicken is in the back but you also pay at the normal area where everyone else pays. M E N U They have a variety of items besides your typical chicken wings, chicken thighs and breasts as well as tenders. They do have your usual sides like mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy but they also have jambalaya and red beans and rice. They also have fried fish and shrimp as well as chicken sandwich and fries. We wanted to get a mix of chicken boned in, but alas, they ran out when we go there so we'd have to wait another 10-15 minutes. We didn't want to wait so we just opted for tenders and fries and since the bf was curious we also got the chicken sandwich. We didn't realize we'd also get honey biscuits with our order so that's a plus! How was it? Well I don't think we'd really get the chicken sandwich again as it's nothing more than just the same chicken between bread with a few pickles and mustard. The fries were fine, but that chicken tender was the juiciest most flavor filled chicken I've had in a while. I feel like they brine the chicken in some kind of mixture as it oozed that juicy flavor when you bite into it. The honey biscuits were also great! S E R V I C E It was fine. They acknowledged our presence as we were waiting which I'm always appreciative of. We got our chicken and we easily paid at the cashier. I'm so glad that we finally have a Krispy Krunchy Chicken in Fremont!!! This location is nestled inside of the Valero gas station and it's in a perfect spot. I've been to quite a few of the other locations but this is hands down the best as far as the taste of the food and customer service goes. The menu is pretty vast and has a variety of items such as fried chicken, chicken strips, chicken sandwich, fried shrimp, fried fish and honey butter biscuits along with some yummy sides like potato wedges, man n cheese, red beans & rice and jambalaya as well as other items. I ordered the fried chicken meal which comes with a honey butter biscuit and the potato wedges. The chicken was fried to perfection and it was seasoned to perfection as well. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy while the skin was perfectly crispy. I normally don't eat chicken thighs but they were so juicy and crispy! The potato wedges were huge and so good, I prefer them to regular fries and they're even better dipped in the ranch. The honey butter biscuits were drenched in that sweet butter and were so moist and fluffy. The customer service here was stellar as well. The manager I'm guessing made sure that I received fresh chicken and fries, he even through in some extra chicken and a biscuit. He was very friendly and made sure that the food was fresh and the customers were getting food that wasn't just sitting there. I also like that you can see the chicken being fried right in front of you, at other locations you can't see that. One of my friends told me how good the chicken were from this franchise so I decided to order some for dinner. I ordered 8 piece dark meat, family fries and a mac-n-cheese. The chicken definitely had Cajun flavor and we can literally see it while biting into the chicken. The chicken was moist but it wasn't the type of flavor that I was expecting. I'm pretty much a fan of this fried chicken chain that pretty much piggy backs on gas station mini marts. In this area, this kind of gas station eateries are often looked down upon. But in other parts of the country, many know some of the best food can come from a gas station, especially regional specialties like bbq/fried foods. I've had this chicken a few times, as this chain is somewhat blowing up out in the East Bay. It has finally entered my area and kinda glad it did. I mean I would visit a Popeye's or KFC every 3-4 months anyways cuz I am a fiend for all things fried chicken. But this place (so far) is much quicker thus convenient, yet pretty much on the same level. I tried a mixed piece where they give you a monster breast piece and a wing. The breast piece was so big that I cut it and ate it as 2 meals. The chicken itself is nice, not crazy juicy but definitely not dry. Also has some sort of hot sauce as the marinade as it'll have a slight zing to the bites. I'm going to revisit the dark meats on my next outs. The crust is perfect in my view, texture-wise. It is everything I look for in a fried chicken crust. Very crisp with a crackly, and craggly appearance. I'm pulled by the texture of this crust. BUT it is much too salty for me. Even the other locations are salty, so it is not isolated to just one location. I mean I still like it, cuz I'd rather have fried chicken to be salty than not. But this is so noticeable for me that I choose to only eat one piece at a time for a meal. Also just tried their boneless wings, which I usually scoff at, because a boneless wing is just a white meat nugget. Not horrible but I'd just rather have regular wings. They offered me this, as I wanted to try their chicken tenders one time, but they didn't have any. On the dryish side, but I also didn't get any sauces to dip them in. So, not really my jam, but in a pinch, I could revisit this. I usually take this home and eat it with my own sides. I don't think their sides are worth exploring and since I'm at home anyways, I might as well provide some heathier options. So glad they've finally opened up a Krispy Krunchy Chicken here in Fremont! No more having to go to Hayward to enjoy their chicken. This one opened up here inside the Fremont Hub Valero and the staff that work here are amazing, very friendly and patient. They cook your food fresh to order, so there will be a wait, but it's amazingly fresh and tasty. They've got a smaller menu compared to other locations because they cook all their food using halal chicken. Once you order your food, you head to the Valero cashier and pay there. They accept, cash, debit, credit card, contactless pay and even Apple Pay. The prices are getting quite high, but everything is rising in costs these days. Never judge a book by it's cover. You might think chicken inside of a gas station won't be any good, but this place will change your mind. The perfect amount of crunch, spice and freshness. The original sauce is the perfect combo for the Cajun flavor of the chicken tenders. The fried fish was pretty great too. It was fresh right out of the basket and delicious. I wasn't expecting much from the blueberry biscuits and I'm happy to say I was wrong. I could easily eat these for breakfast every morning and never get sick of them. I never would have thought I would love gas station fried chicken, until now. Technically it's a chicken place inside of the Femont Hub Valero gas station store. Chicken: It's definitely Krispy and Krunchy on the outside and moist, juicy and tender on the inside. Wedges: The potato wedges are good, not crispy though. Biscuits: We always get the honey biscuits. They are a must. The blueberry biscuits are good too, but I prefer the honey ones. I've learned to call ahead because the biscuits and chicken are not always ready. The first time I went there, they had just opened and I wanted biscuits but they didn't have any ready. I also wanted a 16 piece bucket and they didn't have enough chicken ready either. To be fair there were already 2 people ahead of me. I ended up waiting over 30 minutes but they gave me an extra 2 pieces of chicken for my time, so I wasn't too mad. Lol! They are really nice too. Shahin, the owner, reached out after my review last time and offered me a $25 gift card to come back and try to win me back. That says a lot about how much this man stands by his product. Took me a few months to make my way back, but Shahin took care of me like I was a VIP today. My 12 piece mixed dark and white mixed box came with 1 wing, 1 breast, 5 drumsticks and 5 thighs. Every piece was perfectly cooked... hot, crispy and sooo juicy. This is how I remember KKC tasting when I used to eat it regularly when I lived in SF Mission district. That said I think this is more a 4.75 than a 5, only due to preference for seasoning (i think I just like how Popeye's spicy chicken tastes more), but customer service alone deserves a 10! Shahin is a stand up guy with a very welcoming personality... I've had KKC from the Hayward location, and I was happy to find out there's a closer one in Fremont now at the Valero on Mowry and Fremont. They feature halal chicken at this location, which is unique. - Dark meat meal: the oil smelled a bit stale, but it tasted fine - just a little salty - Chicken tenders: Cajun ones are the same price as the regular tenders, but I went for the regular ones. These tenders were GREAT. They were nicely brined, flavorful, super juicy. My husband is not a white meat fan and actually preferred these over the dark meat. These are some of the best tenders I've had in a while - Mac n cheese: very cheap at $2.99, kid friendly - Blueberry muffin: came with the meal, good for breakfast the next day Again, 5 stars for the tenders - we'll definitely be back for these!
