    219 Fungus Salad 凉拌木耳腐竹

Three things I love about Home Eat is how clean it is, how late it's open, and how yummy/affordable the food is. Their personal hotpots come with a lot of meat and other toppings. This time we tried the fungus salad and it was light and refreshing. Service is also great with the staff always checking in with you and getting your food super quickly. I would definitely recommend Home Eat!!

I tried this restaurant with a group of friends, and it was a great spot for sharing a meal together. The chicken wings were a standout and reminded me a lot of the famous wings from San Tung in San Francisco, which was a pleasant surprise. The dishes are served family-style, making it easy for everyone at the table to share and sample a variety of items. We enjoyed being able to try several different dishes rather than ordering individual meals. Ordering is done through a QR code, which made the process simple and convenient. The food is brought out as it's ready, so dishes arrive throughout the meal. There is plenty of parking available in the lot, which is always a plus. I also learned that they have several other locations around the Bay Area, making it easy to visit again. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed both the food and the casual dining setup.

Decided to give this place another try, and we're so glad we did! Our first visit honestly missed the mark--the service wasn't great, and a couple of the dishes we ordered just weren't for us. Because of that, we were a little hesitant to come back, but we figured we'd give it one more shot. This time around, we stuck with dishes we thought we'd enjoy, and it made all the difference. We ordered the beef wrap, combination fried rice, salt and pepper chicken, and beef chow fun. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and well-prepared. The standout for us was the salt and pepper chicken, which was crispy and packed with flavor. The beef chow fun had great wok hei and tender slices of beef, while the combination fried rice was satisfying and loaded with ingredients. The beef wrap was also a solid choice and complemented the meal nicely. The service was also noticeably better this visit. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the overall experience much more enjoyable. Although there were quite a few people stopping in for takeout orders, the restaurant has plenty of seating for dine-in guests. The dining room felt spacious and comfortable, so it never felt crowded despite the steady flow of customers. We're really happy we decided to give this place a second chance. Sometimes all it takes is ordering the right dishes and having a better experience overall. We'll definitely be back and are looking forward to trying more of the menu next time!

Now this place was a pleasant surprise. Came here after work with some coworkers and I was running late but the food was pretty damn good. The chicken wins were awesome and tasty. The broccoli beef had that beefy oyster sauce flavor I love. The fried dumplings were nice and tasty with a strong scallion taste I like. The orange chick was phenomenal and it is not even a consideration for me generally. The low point was the Lo Mein and Egg drop soup...Both were bland and in the case of the Lo Mein it was dry as if it sat out for a few hours. The egg drop soup was lukewarm and flavorless. Still, the other dishes carried these and made up for these two bad dishes. Service was typical Chinese fair. Nothing friendly but not warm and "come back again" approach. They were attentive and for that I was grateful since I was 15 minutes late. Ambiance is modern and nice and for this it wins points. Not gaudy and old like most Chinese restaurants but modern and borderline chic. Great food depending on what you get. I would definitely come here again.

This was my very first time and I was thoroughly satisfied! We ordered 4 entrees which were shareable portions. The pricing was great! The restaurant itself was clean. My favorite dish was the salt and pepper wings. The wings were salty (obviously in the name haha) and so having a side of rice or chow mein made it the perfect combination. I also enjoyed the classic fried wing, you cannot go wrong with these! Honey walnut shrimps were also very tasty, sweet and salty, perfect amount of sauce coated on the shrimps. On the tables, they had a bin of chopsticks, forks, spoons, napkins, and extra plate which I thought was very useful. You don't have to wait or ask the waiters for utensils or to-go boxes because they are self-serve. This was convenient. The service was quick and easy. We were seated very shortly after arrival and they answered any questions we had. I will be coming back very soon!

It doesn't get more authentic than this! Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. We ordered the spicy boiled fish fillet, which has a mala flavor and comes with assorted veggies. I would highly recommend the tianjin eggplant with pork--it has a strong teriyaki sauce that is absolutely addicting with plain white rice. They also offer cold side dishes for a really affordable price at the front, cafeteria style. They have all the Chinese classics, like spicy beef tendon, woodear tofu skin, etc.

This was our first time at HomeEat and we had a great experience. The restaurant is very clean and has lots of tables, plus an additional dining room off to the side. When you walk in, there's a counter on the right displaying cold food items. We arrived around 11:30 on a weekday and were seated immediately. Once seated, a large carafe of water was brought to the table, which was a nice touch. The table was already set with forks, spoons, chopsticks, napkins, and plates, along with sriracha and soy sauce. Ordering is done through a QR code on the table. I would recommend looking at the menu online before you go because there are so many choices that it helps to have an idea of what you might want. Our Diet Coke arrived right away after ordering. Since we're considering ordering food from here for an upcoming birthday party, we decided to try a few dishes: the Combo Chow Mein, Beef Chow Fun, and Spring Eggrolls. All of our choices were tasty. The chow fun noodles were especially interesting--they were cut thinner than the standard wide noodles, and I really loved the texture. The portions are generous, and the eggrolls came with both sweet-and-sour and sweet-and-spicy sauces, which were delicious. We will definitely be back to try more dishes and would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a Chinese restaurant to try. Parking right near the restaurant is limited, but we were lucky to find a spot. There is plenty of additional parking nearby since it's located close to 99 Ranch.

Love this location -- it's close to home and always reliable. The menu is huge, from comforting hot pot to lobster feasts, steamed fish, fried rice, stir‑fried noodles, and dumplings. Service is quick, dishes come out hot, and the casual ambiance makes it an easy go‑to spot.

It is in a large plaza area. I came on a Friday night and it was busy, but there were still tables available. You order via the QR code. We were served quickly and it was hot. Servers were very accommodating. We ordered fried rice, chow fun, salt and pepper fish, salt and pepper wings, Chinese broccoli, hot and sour soup, and orange chicken. That fed a group of 5 and there was leftovers. Portions are good quality. My favorite was the Chinese broccoli and the salt and pepper fish. They also gave us a complimentary cake! So yummy.

    Numbing Spicy BBQ Fish Fillet
    Alice H.

We were looking for a place to eat after our hike at Lake Chabot, and ended up finding this place. We ordered the Beef Wrap and Numbing Spicy BBQ Fish Fillet. The Numbing Spicy BBQ Fish fillet came with Fish Tofu, Soybean Sprouts, Jalapeno, Celery, Cauliflower, Lotus Root, Onion, Peanut, and Sesame. One thing I liked about this dish was that the fish was boneless, but other than this, I didn't find it amazing. The flavor-wise was just solely spicy, so you couldn't taste anything else, which was a bit of a letdown. I wish there were more layers of flavors and fragments. I would not recommend this dish. On the other hand, their Beef Wrap was amazing. It was wrapped in Scallion Pancake, Beef, Scallion, and Cilantro. The portion was huge and stuffed with braised beef slices. With the addition of cilantro, it tasted really delicious! Highly recommended. Besides that, we were really disturbed by the server. While we were only halfway through our meals, he already placed the check on our table. I noticed he did the same thing to other tables that just gotten their food. It felt like the restaurant was trying to rush people out. It was only 2pm, and the place wasn't even busy. This is something they really should address.

The service was quick and attentive, and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated. The best thing we ordered was the Sizzling Yellow Croaker with Fried Garlics (9/10). The fish was super crispy, and the sweet, garlicky skin was incredibly addictive. I would 100% order this every time I come back. We also had the Shredded Cabbage with Sliced Pork (8/10), which was nice and tangy. The cabbage soaked up all the sauce, making every bite packed with flavor, while the pork provided a great contrast to the vegetables. The House Special Fried Rice with Pickle & Beef (7/10) wasn't anything extraordinary, but it served as a great base alongside the other dishes. The pickles were an interesting addition, as I've never had fried rice prepared that way before, but I definitely enjoyed it. Finally, we decided to try the House Special Spicy Frog in Stone Pot (6.5/10) since most of us had never had frog before. The flavor was outstanding, with a great umami depth and just the right amount of spice. The frog itself was a little difficult to eat because of the large number of bones, but the meat was tender and juicy. Replacing the frog with another protein probably would have made it more favorable, but I still enjoyed trying something new and didn't regret ordering it. Overall, Ping's Bistro is a great spot for outstanding Chinese food. Every dish we tried was enjoyable, and there are still so many items on the menu I'd love to come back and explore. The prices are on the higher side, but the quality and flavor make up for it. I'll definitely be back.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We started with the One Piece Mixed Salad (tofu skin, vermicelli noodles, woodear mushrooms, carrots, celery, seaweed, and peanuts, all mixed in a savory, acidic, and spicy dressed ) and the Shredded Potato Salad, both of which made for nice appetizers. We also had the Cold Skin Noodles (Liangpi), a bowl of wide, chewy noodles mixed with a savory sauce and topped with tofu puffs, shredded cucumber , bean sprouts, and a creamy sesame sauce. Hailing from Xi'an, the Braised Pork Pita Burger was fatty pieces of pork braised in a savory sauce, served in a dry round of "pita," but even better was the Spicy Cumin Lamb Pita Burger, which contained a tantalizingly spicy, flavorful filling of tender spiced lamb. The Signature Beef Bone Noodle Soup came with noodles in a simple broth, topped with three bone-in beef ribs. The meat on the ribs was rather tough and sinewy, and the soup on the bland side, but the presentation of the dish was definitely impressive. Finally, the House Special Braised Dry Noodle was a bowl of noodles topped with a savory sauce with lots of different dried ingredients including tofu, s mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and red bell peppers. For each noodle dish, you could select from a variety of noodles, but my favorite by far was the 2cm "General Wide" noodles, which had an amazing chewy texture. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled. No complaints here just need to be careful with the splashes on your shirt. This place makes their dumplings and noodles by scratch and you can taste the difference. We had the combo chow mein, salt and pepper pork chops, string beans, bao buns with pork belly. Everything was scrumptious. Even the string beans were good and I dont even like string beans. Service was amazing, the lady who waited on us even took the time to pack all of our leftovers and chat with is. It was a great experience and I highly recommend. This is our new dumpling go to place! Gastro Maestro Approved!

The food came out quickly, and most of the dishes were delicious. The honey walnut shrimp was really good, and the combination fried rice was sooo good. The wonton dumplings were definitely my favorite. The soup dumplings were also amazing--the broth was flavorful and made them really enjoyable. The shrimp toast tasted good, but I felt like there was too much bread and not enough stuffing. The potstickers were a little too oily for me, so I probably wouldn't order those again next time. Overall, I would come back for the wonton dumplings, soup dumplings, honey walnut shrimp, and fried rice!

You order via your phone and for each item, you can expect to pay $2-7. Ex: cabbage is $2.50~ and beef is $7.50. Our party of four had our bowls averaging about $20 per person. The portions were good for the price and you get plenty of food. I don't know the weight, but definitely was filling and I typically get 1.8 pounds at other malatang shops which can cost more. They had all the typical options of beef, lamb, spam, sausage, bok choy, Napa, etc. They loaded mine with tons of cabbage which was nice. We got the chengdu broth which is in between a dry and soupy mix. They served our food in a shallow bowl/plate. They have do have soupy base options, such as beef bone broth. I actually enjoyed the in between mix and liked that it wasn't piping hot, but that's my preference. They had a decent sauce bar as well. Stocked with garlic, cilantro, soy, vinegar, oyster sauce, chilli powder, etc. It was very clean and spacious inside. There was only one server working but he was easy to flag down if we needed something. Overall, different but great experience. Will be back!

I barely ate any of it. On the bright side, the skewers were much better, and the service was good. I visited on a weekday after work and the restaurant was very empty. It's worth noting that their current menu is missing a lot of items shown in older Yelp photos, including the jelly dessert I was looking forward to. Overall, it didn't quite live up to the high reviews.
