The staff were so friendly, it was such a great vibe for an authentic old school pizza spot. I got a pepperoni slice that was very solid and we split a large calzone. We just stopped in on Tuesday afternoon around 4pm to grab a quick bite before heading to our t-ball practice with our 2 kids, but later that night my husband complained of having stomach issues. We all had different slices so there was no way to tell if it was isolated to his specific food or not but he was fine before he ate that. The service is basic, no extra frills or thrills here. The ambiance is a general fast counter service set up, it's a casual setting. Their pizza is good, even tasted good on this day, but maybe the white slice he had was off somehow. This is a family business in Hazlet for many years. Old school plastic booths and nothing fancy inside. They don't even deliver! But you don't have to when the food is this good. Nice neighborhood pizzeria. Food is a little above average. If your in the area is ok but there are better options.

We had a family gathering and ordered a couple of trays of food from here for dinner: stuffed eggplant parmesan, penne alla vodka, and chicken francese. The portions were large, the food was prepared quickly, and they were all good. But what we really appreciated was that they threw in SIX fresh loaves of Italian bread and a large heaping of garlic knots for us. We definitely will try some of their pizza another time. read more

Just moved here from nyc and saw the reviews so had to try it out being it's impossible to find decent pizza in jersey. Got a Sicilian half pepperoni half special and a round half plain half pepperoni. It was decent at best. Definitely tasted better the next day reheated in the oven. I have to say I am really disappointed in this place. Moved to the area recently and was looking for a good spot for some pastas and salads. Placed a $45 Togo order of chicken parmesan and penne vodka sauce with a large Caesar salad and a 2 litter soda. $45.... Ok expect it to me amazing. Not even in the slightest! The Caesar salad was doused in dressing which I'm not even sure was dressing, it tasted like plain mayo! I had to add lots of salt and pepper to everything. Then the side salad that came with the chicken parmesan was wilting and the dressing did not taste fresh, had a strange taste to it. The chicken parmesan was ok but the pastas were terrible. The penne vodka sauce had absolutely no flavor and the pasta tasted like 3 minute boxed pasta. The loaf and a half of Italian bread that came with the food tasted like it was the cheapest bread ever made, if that it's even a thing. read more

Maybe i am an outlier cause the place was packed went i went yesterday Friday and 5pm and orders coming in like crazy. I feel liKe a horrible person for not having left a review for Romeos yet. We live walking distance and find ourselves at Romeos at least once a week, they save me on the nights I don't feel like cooking or my son demands pizza on the way home; my son loves their pizza and we love their pizza and the rest of their food too. I started going to this pizza shop about a year ago. I will never buy a pie from anywhere else in the Monmouth County area again. Hands down, the best there is. First, the order arrived 30 min late. Then, only half of the order was there. The delivery driver seemed to know he was missing something, but he had no idea what - and was hoping I wouldn't notice. He didn't comment until I asked where the rest of my order was - then he said "Oh, is that what that charge was?" Really? When I called in to let them know, they did nothing to make it right, except say that they'd send it. It's been another 25 minutes and it's still not here. The pizza was barely warm. The crust was burnt to a crisp. The toppings slid right off the top. Can't review the appetizer combo, as it hasn't arrived yet. I see there are other positive reviews - but this experience is so bad, I'm not sure I can stand to try it again. This is my new go to Pizza spot in the area. I've been here for 6 years and our favorite spots have been Denino's, DiBari's and Krispy Pizza, but I recently tried Romeo's and it beats them all, hands down. With some of these other places, the crust is sometimes burnt or the ratios are off but this one was perfect. My kids normally only eat plain pizzas, but they loved the romeo special which had peppers, onions, mushrooms, sausage and pepperoni. read more
