Very unhappy with my haircut. Cried on my way home. Stylist cut her hand and bled on me. Man waiting for his apt. Had to say, "are you going to let her leave like that, she has hair all over her back." she knew how unhappy i was, $55 later. But did not seem to care. Also place had a odor like a old cabin. This is the first time in my life i have ever wrote a bad review. But after a week of thinking about it, i felt the need to save someone else from a disaster, and a teary eye home. read more

This owner Krista had a horrible attitude problem. Went to her for hair extensions and seemed nice. For some reason she kept having me come back for more consultations. Seemed odd. After 2 consultations she than said she wasn't sure if she could color match my hair. Told me to give her the day and text her later and she'll let me know if she should do it...I was still confused considering my hair color was just a blonde and wasn't sure what the major issue was. I felt like she didn't want to be bothered. I gave her the day and texted her as she said and she never responded ...the next day I texted her again and didn't respond so I called her. This is what she says " I'm busy with clients right now". I said " am I not a client??" She than told me she doesn't feel were a good fit to work together. She was unprofessional and acted like a child. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS EVER!!!! Btw I went to another salon the next day and he was able to color match my hair with the extensions no problem. Had them in the next day and have been with him ever since. Don't waste your time with her. read more

I have been getting hair extensions done by Krista for a couple years now and she does a great job. She is a perfectionist when it comes to hair extensions and she is really knowledgeable. I know my mom has gotten her hair done there and she loves her cut and color. 5 stars all the way. I would never let anyone else do my extensions but her! read more

Krista does an excellent job and is particularly good at blondes. She is meticulous and passionate about hair. The only negative I would say that she needs work on is her time management, as she does sometimes leave you waiting for your appointment for awhile and you are at the salon for hours. However, in her defense, she probably takes a long time because she is so meticulous and thorough at doing hair. I do highly recommend her. read more

I visited the salon for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful experience. My hair was in horrible shape before visiting. Stephanie asked if I had any time restraints to make sure she had enough time to fix my mess. I was at the salon for roughly 5 hours. I didn't expect such an amazing result! I had lowlights, hi lights, and a cut. My hair is gorgeous! A co worker of mine has already asked for Stephanie's card. Krista was super nice as well! Highly recommended. read more

Fantastic salon! Krista is very detail oriented. I have been going to her exclusively for several years and I'm always happy with the services received. I've also had Krista do two different types of hair extensions. She's very reasonably priced, especially for the quality! After having my babies, my hair was shedding, leaving bald spots throughout. She strategically placed the extensions to hide the bald spots without causing any damage to my remaining natural hair. My husband always LOVES my hair when I come home!!! She's also great with scheduling appointments. Very quick to return your call and get you in. She's always been super accommodating to my hectic schedule. read more

Went for a consult, thought everything went great. The owner spoke with my regular stylist so they could collaborate, then afterwards left me a voicemail saying they couldn't work "together" yet couldn't give me any specific reason why. My normal stylist is the nicest person in the world, always willing to learn new things and collaborate with anyone. After speaking with the owner again and attempting to smooth over whatever unknown issue she had, I finally got an appointment scheduled. Afterwards, when trying to color match, the owner just stopped responding to me, never ordered my product, and therefore cancelled my appointment and I STILL DONT KNOW WHY. She seems overly sensitive, catty, and very dramatic. I was looking forward to working with her but due to her lack of communication and unprofessionalism, that never happened. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here unless you plan dealing what appeared to be "high school drama" type of stuff and the owners inappropriate defensiveness and inability to productively work with anyone else without creating unnecessary issues. I drove over and hour to see her and nothing ever came of it. RIDICULOUS!!! No matter how many times my stylist or I explained to her that my hair was not the color we wanted it to be because I was going from BLACK TO BLONDE, she continued to act as if my regular stylist was not as educated as her and flat out like my stylist didn't know what she was doing. Newsflash, when making such dramatic changes to your hair, it's not healthy to get immediate results over night!!!! Pretty much everyone knows that...it's not that my stylist is dumb, it's just that drastic color changes are a process! I don't like when stylists pull the "I'm the best around" attitude..it's better to listen, learn, and teach rather than be defensive, rude, and having a chip on your shoulder. She also recommended several products to me that my stylist went out of her way to purchase, and none of them worked. Waste of money. She lost a potential customer willing to pay a lot of money and make a very long drive just to see her. Smh. read more

First time here, just moved from San Diego back to the Midwest and needed a new salon that was very good with blonde color- I have always had trouble with it turning gold and/or very damaged. The boutique is cute and cozy-love the feel of a smaller boutique. I had Stephanie and she took her time and was amazing-super nice, sweet and very knowledgeable about color. I had the olaplex treatment and she got me to an icy, platinum blonde with no gold and my hair feels so much better now. Although it is a drive for me, it is totally worth it and I will be back every 6-8 weeks! Both Krista and my stylist were great!! Not at all pushy to buy their products like many salons are. Had an appointment with Krista today and left her salon absolutely in love. I have been constantly stylist hopping for the last 15 years because no one could ever give me what I wanted. How hard is it to get a quality cut and color ? Apparently most high end salons in McHenry County can't! I've wasted hundreds of dollars every six weeks updating highlights/trims etc and it was such a drag. I stumbled across Krista's website after looking once again for a stylist. She has a super cute salon and it's very comfortable! She was friendly, sweet and approachable right of the bat. She educated me more on my hair and hair in general than anyone I've ever gone to. I was blown away with her asking about my hair history as no one has ever even asked! We looked at the photos I brought and discussed what was achievable. She was honest and accommodating. We decided on balayage . The past few balayage appointments I've had were just a terrible ombré job - and cost 300+! no thanks chazios, Mario's etc.. those places were so quick to foil me up and barely lift my dark hair to orange In the 1 hour block they schedule for a cut and color (stupid). Krista tested my hair to see what she was working with. I've NEVR had a stylist determine how my hair was going to lift and to see the actual condition of my hair and what it could handle. That immediately sold me on Krista. She highly recommended a Malibu treatment to revive my hair (and IT IS A GAME CHANGER) did opalex (I've asked so many stylists to do it and they had no idea what it was). Oh btw KRista doesn't nickel and dime you like other salons for it (aka chazios). She gave me the best hair cut of my life . I got exactly what I asked for. She took her time and was precise. Most stylists whip out the straighter because they can't blow dry my thick coarse hair straight. Krista did phenomenal ... so phenomenal that I got 3 compliments grocery shopping after . I am so pleased with her skills and I highly recommend. Don't skip on this one ladies (or gents). She's worth every penny I promise. read more
