I just came back from Krogers on Crocker and it will be the last time shopping at this store. I feel they purposely misrepresent the price and then don't honor the sales price tags that are still up. It was brought to their attention today that the scale in the fruit and vegetables section is completely off. It weighs way less than the scale at the register. They don't honor the prices that are marked. I was there with 3 other people and they all will be shopping elsewhere. It's bad enough the prices are high but they end up manipulating the prices so you pay even more. read more

Update: spoke to store manager who told me absolutely nothing could be done because the employee is union. Corporate reached out to me, and did nothing. Kroger in general sucks (look up the company's new facial recognition initiation) but this location is the worst. I scheduled pickup and a bottle of wine was part of my order. Halina, the employee who brought my order out asked for my ID, I explained it was a temporary one. She tried flipping it over (I explained to her all the info was on the front sheet of paper. Being a temp license, my old license was stapled to the sheet of paper with my updated info by the Secretary of State.) she said there was no way to enter my info, and she had to scan my license. She ripped my license out of my hand and ripped the card from the sheet of paper, quite literally destroyed and nullified my temp license. When I gasped and asked why she would do that, her answer was "I had to scan it, you got your alcohol, didn't you?" Nasty woman, absolutely unhinged and disgusting behavior. Why she felt the need to tear my license apart, I can't understand. Why Kroger employs workers who act this way, I also can't comprehend, I will never be back. read more

Wow, the produce an overall selection has improved over the years, the absent minded and flat out rude employees have not. It is rare that I use a check out person or have a bagger assist me, but today I used them both so that I could exit expeditiously. Both the bagger and the cashier ignored me until asking for payment, continuing their private conversation in front of me, without addressing me whatsoever until money was due. Just outrageously, rude and obnoxious. The only employee who showed me any courtesy, is a tall fellow, named Rob. I am not 100% sure what his position is, but he is always pleasant and exceedingly well at helping when I need it. He's been here for years, and if I were management I'd be doing all I can to get more employees like this gentlemen, who go out of their way to ensure I'm greeted with a friendly "hello" and check to see if I need assistance. read more

ZERO STARS! THE CASHIERS ALWAYS SHORTCHANGE YOU, and the prices are higher than all the other nearby Kroger locations. Also, their meat is underweighted for what you pay (I checked on a scale, and they give you less meat for more money compared to the nearby Meijer's and Kroger's and Walmart stores). HORRIBLE, AWFUL SERVICE! Oh, and there's no cellular service within the building, so you can't make a phone call while inside of this Kroger (you have to walk halfway down the parking lot until cellular service is restored). The customer service is beyond a joke (inept and otherwise unavailable), and they do not keep critical items in stock, forcing you to buy over priced alternatives (if any are in stock). They have a couple of particularly creepy workers that just give me a real bad feeling about what they do in their personal lives. Their hiring practices are trash. And their Christmas-time Salvation Army kettle kooks are racist against whites (whispering racist things under their breath against white people when not more loudly cussing out regular customers walking in). They allow an obnoxious illegal alien to blast kitschy music in the parking lot during the warmer months (he begs for money while ineptly playing a violin). There is a big apartment complex right next-door to the parking lot, and he faces his speaker toward it, so that the residents of the nearby apartment have to hear his obnoxious music for hours on end without repose. read more

I only shop here occasionally because their prices, on average, are higher than Walmart and Meijer and their produce is mediocre. Sometimes they have really great sales, though. When I shopped here a few days ago, checkout was stressful. The self-scan machine kept sending alerts to the cashier. When they came to check on the alerts they didn't just check the items in my bag against what had been scanned. I had to stand there waiting several minutes while a slow-motion video played on the screen of me scanning my groceries. It was weird and uncomfortable and I kept wondering what I'd done wrong. The cashier never clarified anything, just walked away. I have severe anxiety. I hate going out to big stores in the first place and I aim to avoid human interaction which is why self-scanners are so great. Until now. I mean, you have to scan an item before you bag it. So, I don't understand what the cameras are trying to capture. It's like they're trying to figure out the secret to a close-up magic trick. As the days passed, I only felt worse about that experience. This sounds extreme, but it was kind of violating. Like grocery store TSA. The self-scanners don't have slots for coupons, either. You have to stand there for another 5 minutes waiting for the cashier to finish watching someone else's riveting slow-motion scanning play-by-play. I've lived near this Kroger for over 20 years and have had tepid feelings for it all that time. This last experience is enough to keep me away indefinitely. read more

Some of the people that work here are so incredibly kind and then there are those who cannot get fired who don't deserve to breathe the same air resist one of the incredibly lazy employees who have always had problems with me and my partner refused to bring my groceries out. The car that pulled in more than 5 minutes after me left before I did with their full order and I still hadn't been served. I was told I needed to wait until somebody else showed up for the day..... They had in fact texted me and told me to come get my groceries. Had they delayed me. I would have waited before heading that way I would lied to and then refused service because another person that was willing to work with us hadn't made it in yet... Please note my partner and I are not lgbtq. We are in fact straight and simply refer to us as us as partners whenever someone asked for just one of our names, this makes her uncomfortable and that's why she refuses to serve us.... This is not one of my regular Kroger's but when visiting my parents I always pop in to check the clearance sections of the store. I used to live in the area over 15 years ago and sadly the store hasn't changed or been updated in all those years. This store is very small and outdated. While the employees and managers are very friendly and welcoming I feel like the store needs a complete facelift physically. I am pleased to say that on every visit I score some kind of clearance item at a deep discount. For that reason I will continue to stop in and see what I can score for cheap, whenever I pass it. read more

This is a pretty decent Kroger and they've pretty much got Harrison Township on lock. I swear, once you get a little south of here the Krogers are almost built on top of each other, sometimes less than a mile apart. I don't know why that would figure into Yelp reviews but it's annoying. This Kroger, however, has more of a sense of place as pretty much the only grocery store in Harrison Township. This Kroger isn't overwhelmingly huge like the monstrosity over on 13 Mile just east of Little Mack, which seems to be trying to equal the Meijer across the street in size even though it lacks many of the sections. They really crank up the a/c there when it might not even be that hot either. This Crocker boulevard Kroger doesn't make the same mistake and I'm grateful for that. This is a pretty standard grocery store with all the basic staples. There's usually barely any wait for the self check-outs, too, at least during the odd hours when I pop in. As I write this we're in the midst of the Great Lockdown for the coronavirus pandemic and this Kroger has adjusted. All the employees were masked up, though I barely saw any gloves. And the aisles have all been labelled as one way on the floor at either end to help maintain a social distancing of at least six feet. I goofed a couple times on this as it's something new and I wasn't wearing my glasses as my mask tends to fog them up. I'll know better next time but they could use signs higher up, too. Or maybe I missed those as well... They looked pretty stocked up last week, even in the paper goods aisle. We're good on toilet paper here but I did forget to grab some paper towels. Harrison Twp Kroger..last resort for me. This place is borderline disgusting. Maybe have some one grabbing carts and running a broom through the store periodically. The produce section looks like it was stocked once and left for dead the rest of the day. The rest of the store isn't much better. Not sure who's in charge of hiring or if they got a lab in the back where they recharge the zombies and put em back on the floor but it's pretty difficult watching the staff doing the bare minimum shuffling around. This Kroger is old, outdated, not clean, poorly staffed and the prices are ridiculous. Kroger needs to find a new spot and build a new facility along with a gas station and re-staff the store top to bottom. read more

I've been waiting to lower my rating, but I don't see any other way. I still do a lot of my shopping here, but not nearly as much as I used to. The reason for this is because, over the years, Kroger has slowly but surely discontinued a number of things that I love. Basically, if you want anything that's reduced calorie, you're out of luck. Reduced fat cheese is virtually impossible to find (there is a small block of Jarlsburg Swiss, buried amongst the hard cheeses, unless they've discontinued that, too). They haven't had reduced calorie buns and rolls in a while. And, they've just stopped carrying Hebrew National 97% fat free franks. If I want every reduced calorie butter, I have to buy Land O' Lakes; they stopped carrying the cheaper Kroger brand a while ago. These are only a handful of the many, many examples. I'm aware of the fact that some of these things aren't what everybody likes. But, this store continues to carry some really odd ball things. Based on what I see on the shelves, Kroger must believe that people really want $9 jars of marinated cherry tomatoes more than they want low cal cheese. But, those oddball things end up in the discount bin, maybe because no one can find them in their normal spot (or maybe because their market research is flawed). How does cutting the price of things on your shelf by half help you meet your bottom line? Something tells me that part of the problem is the way that they choose to market their products. What remains is an above average - but no longer great - supermarket. The sushi is still excellent, I really love the people of the meat counter - they really know their stuff - but there's nothing that sets them apart from anywhere else. I shop here mostly out of convenience, but I end up buying a lot of my groceries now at Meijer and at Randazzo's. It's a shame. I wonder if their decisions to discontinue products are because they're losing money, or if they're losing money because they decided to discontinue these products. read more

I get in here a couple times a year. Always nice and organized and clean. Today I noticed the parking lot. As was mentioned, there are a ton of handicapper parking spaces. The lot is tastefully landscaped. During my time in the lot this morning, I heard the melodious tunes of a hymn playing from across the way at Knox Presbyterian Church. Store and parking lot is filthy. Shelves empty hardly any products. Staff is non responsive- gallon of milk laid spilling on the floor for 15 minutes- when I told the cashier she didn't even comment. I won't shop here again. I have switched to Value Center Market on Harper - it's a wonderful experience and pleasure to shop. read more

Watch your receipt. Or, better yet watch the checkout screen. I went to the website this morning, signed in and checked those items on sale that I wanted. Skippy peanut butter was on sale with a digital coupon for $1.49. On the screen it cane up at $2.49. I pointed this out to the cashier. She said once I hit the pay button, I would receive the discount. Nope! She stood there and watched me. She had to manually enter the discount after going down the aisle to double check the price. Age we in the digital age? Second time this week I went in to get Kroger brand english muffins. Both times, the shelves were completely empty. Tried to buy plain Fage yogurt. None on the shelves. I wish this store was better due to the proximity to my home but it's the worst one in the area. Produce department is never stocked. If you stand at the seafood counter, be prepared to wait for someone to help you. They don't have flavored San Pellegrino , which all of the other stores have. Wi e selection looks like it should be in a Dollar Store. Walking into this store is actually quite depressing. The staff is either high or confused? It's a bit like the twilight zone. I will frequent the St. Clair Shores location until this one can do better. read more

The good:After first moving to Harrison Twp., I was really disappointed in this location.... but it seems like it's getting a lot better! The addition of Clicklist is awesome and I've noticed that the store has been a lot cleaner lately. I don't think I've waited in a "long" line more than once. Check-out is usually pretty quick. The store is on the small side and the cashiers are pretty friendly! The bad: The worst part about this store is the lack of sidewalks and space at the entrance. You step out the door and you're basically in the road. It's hard for people (and vehicles) to see past the brick pillars on each side of the doors. Definitely a design flaw... but something that could be worked on (for example: don't put products on the tiny piece of sidewalk). The parking lot is poorly designed too--but that's the entire complex. *shrugs* oh well. Still a good store and probably the best local place for groceries! :) read more

I used to love this place about 8 years ago. Around 5 years ago I stopped shopping here, even though it is closer to me than other grocery stores. I will list the reasons: 1. They are always out of at least 2 things that are on my list. Empty shelves. And not just when these things are on sale. 2. Employees are rude. There is one cashier that seriously looks like she is about to die of mean-ness. She never smiles, never makes small talk. Is unattractive and does not greet you nor wish you a good day. She has worked there the whole 8 years I have lived near by. 3. Customer service counter is also bad. One time I bought the fresh mozzarella from the cheese case. I got home to find that it was expired A YEAR AGO! When my husband took it back they gave him a hard time about trading it in for two smaller chunks since they were out of the pound size. They actually wanted him to pay the difference! He caused a bit of a scene and they finally let him go. 4. Produce is expensive and goes bad quickly. The only reason I chose to write this review now, after all this time is because I stopped into there today to grab one thing. I needed seasoned bread for the Thanksgiving turkey stuffing. Not the croutons, but the loaf that you cut yourself into cubes but is seasoned for the turkey. I asked this one 'lady' whom was putting discount stickers on some of the bread items. She huffed, pointed to some shelf across the aisle. I said "I don't see it" she huffed again, walked over and pointed "THERE"....and then walked away to behind the bakery counter. This loaf of bread she pointed to was some kind of onion cheese bread, not at all what I usually buy. This poor excuse for 'customer service' is exactly why I will drive an extra 5 miles to go to Meijer. Eff this place. For real. read more

Wow, I completely disagree with all the negative reviews (except the one mentioning the tent and 9 billion handicapped spots, 90%+ of which are always empty! lol, totally agreed on both accounts). Anyway, I've lived in HTP for almost 20 years and have had nothing but positive experiences at this store. It's my location of choice, and I always find the employees friendly, helpful and willing to go out of their way to serve you. Walking through the store doing my shopping, they always greet me with a smile. I see the same people over and over working there (especially the cashiers and some of the stock people), and have always found this to be the case. On the occasions that I've needed help, I've usually gotten it with the employee walking me to the location of the item--which, to me, is "above and beyond" service that's hard to come by. They do have a good selection of items, and even though it was annoying after this summer's remodel to find products, the store looks much better inside (and they've added stuff, like the self-service soup and olive bar). Although some things are overpriced, they ALWAYS have sales on a variety of items, so if your item isn't on sale one week, it probably will be the next. Yeah it's annoying having to play around like that, but you can save lots of money that way compared to other stores (eg. Meijer). The only thing I'd really like to see more of is more refrigerated and frozen organic and vegetarian food; I think they eliminated a lot of products in this department during the remodel. Being a veg who eats healthy, this is a big loss. I think they could probably take a couple of sections out of the new quarter-mile bread aisle to fit in a few more Gardein products. ;) Overall, good stuff. No change unfortunately. Though there are many very nice cashiers there are the few who make going to this store down right irritating! In self checkout, I've had cashiers just ignore me. I hit the call attendant, ignored, I politely say excuse me, ignored! They just don't care that you are unable to check out. This has been the case 3 out of 4 times in as many weeks. The other constant is missing prices in produce. You either have to track someone down, wait for them to check or take every possibility to the cashier for a price check! Or just go elsewhere. They really need some competition in the area. I don't believe they care to change. read more

This Kroger store is the worst of any grocery store I have ever shopped at!!! The employees at the "service desk" are the most rude I have ever seen. The girl named Ana at the self service check out was so incredibly rude that I can not find words to describe it. Ana called me some extremely derogatory names the last time I shopped there. I reported her to Kroger HQ but they gave my complaint the typical corporate brush off! I told them I will NEVER shop there again! Something they did not seem to be the least bit concerned about! They have Absolutely NO RESPECT for their customers!!! BTW: I am in TOTAL AGREEMENT with all the other negative ratings and can vouch For their accuracy. The only reason I use to shop at this location was because it was close to my house and there are no other grocery stores for several miles. They basically have a monopoly in this area. The staff is great. The only issue with this Kroger is they never have what I come in for. If I am going to make this my regular Kroger then you're going to have to make sure you're inventory is up to date and in stock. I came in for a certain tomato sauce and they've had it 1/4 times so what's the point of making this my regular Kroger/grocery store if I'm going to have to go to meijer after I come here. Eh, well it's close to home, and it has good prices. Also, the food items are fresher than Value Center Market. I never really have trouble finding what I want. It's a simple layout, really. Once you learn the layout, you have a good idea of where you can find everything. Just remember, the ice cream is on the far wall of the store, not with the other frozen items. I can't say much about the customer service. I always use the u-scan computerized machines, and when I needed assistance (like buying liquor and whatnot), the quality of service is a mixed bag. You'll either have a halfway decent person help you out and even make small talk, or you'll have someone who couldn't care less. I always get the feeling that if I needed real assistance, I would get a nasty attitude. With Kroger, I think it depends on the location. In this one, a lot of the staff has a vibe that they are unhappy for some reason, which I typically don't care about as long as I don't have to deal with them. Usually, I do not, thankfully. Perhaps it has to do with them being in a union, or they are just that way. Who knows. As long as you can just go through the u-scan, I will keep shopping at this store. read more

I'm not really impressed with this Kroger location to be honest. The produce looks phenomenal but other than that I never seem to be able to find what I'm shopping for. My MAIN complaint is the customer service. I've been here 3-4 times since I moved to the area a few weeks ago and everyone who works there has been so rude, mean, and generally act really unhappy. I go into the store in a great mood and have left every time feeling like crap because of the terrible customer service. Wasn't many options to choose from at this location, ran into a very rude and racist man today who seemed to be offended by my "black lives matter" shirt. For no reason made it be known to everyone around us that he respected the "all lives matter" choice but being called out of my name was not in anyway appreciated. Would never ever recommend anyone of color go to this store again if there are rude people like him as well as the terrible customer service at that supermarket. Can I give no stars? These guys are beyond disrespectful and racially profiled my wife! They followed her around the story, accused her of stealing, and have made her feel so repeatedly uncomfortable she refuses to shop there at this point. Tonight was a culmination of repetitive bad service and terrible quality control. I purchased two bottles of wine this evening for a function. When we got to the second bottle we realized it had already been opened!! To explain it was a twist top and the local high school kids love to go to Kroger and drink out of whatever they can get there hands on. The employees of Kroger are too busy following minorities around the store to crack down on said behavior but no one is perfect. So that evening I returned to the scene of the crime only to find out that their customer service worker named Jenny, no last name provided because you know she's in witness protection?, wanted to knock off early and did not wish to deal with a customer complaint. She told me in a very short tone that customer service was closed and I would need I take it up with "Evan" the wine guy who has no last name because he is also in witness protection? I was visibly frustrated and she provided me the comfort of telling me "she didn't drink the wine". Wonderful Jenny! You are not galavanting around with teenagers drinking wine off shelves! When I asked for her name first and last as well as the name of her direct boss and the wine guy because I felt behavior like this from someone in customer service deserves special mention to management. She drew a blank on everyone's last name including hers!!! So I change my theory from witness protection to amnesiac! I can tell you the first and last name of my first boss at Kroger from 2003 Jeff Wakoviak in Toledo Ohio and my present boss I will not name because you know I remember things! But hey what the hell, we all can't have working memories. This review is for the little sushi stand in the produce area of the store. I stopped in on my lunch break to get items for my house and wanted something to eat for when I got back to the office. I don't do fast "food" like McDonald's and the like. So on a whim I grabbed a container of California rolls from the sushi stand. The guy making them nodded & smiled warmly as a thank you. He was very nice. I have not tasted ingredients that fresh in a long time!!! It was seriously noticeable to the point I am now writing a review. "Noticeably fresh" is exactly how to describe the sushi stand offerings. I now have a new lunch option and that's awesome because there are not really any places selling fresh food already prepared in this area. read more
