I love stepping inside Trader Joe's and seeing what's in season! There's usually an ample supply of everything I'm looking for and new products to explore. The staff is also helpful inside this location. I stopped in for a few household staples and saw several new items! The onion chips aren't new, but they're good. I like eating them plain, but you could easily top a salad, baked potatoes, or add them to a recipe to add a flavorful crunch! They have a new pasta in for the season, which is a plus! I look forward to trying to products and Trader Joe's always has them! If you haven't tried the banana pudding, ube, and coffee ice creams- don't sleep on them! read more

I'll admit I don't frequent TJ's, I'm used to more traditional stores and I never understood it. When I first heard of it I was picturing an import store which carried things not found anywhere else and not the hipster experience with produce wrapped in plastic which it is, but... My doctor told me to take sodium bicarbonate which I could get by buying medicine like Prilosec or Omeprazole, or I could just buy some baking soda and dissolve it in water. I went to the Kroger across the street, also known as The Worst Kroger Ever, and didn't see it with the flour so I approached a young woman in the bread department who looked on her phone and told me it was in aisle two, same aisle two I was just looking at, I asked her to show me and I was obviously pissing her off but she reluctantly walked with me, I left her by saying "so not aisle two." So I went to TJ's and immediately saw a woman stocking bread, I figured it must be close by and without hesitation she led me across the store to it. She also explained that baking soda and baking powder are not the same thing as I had thought, and I'm a retired RN. It was just a world of difference from the dregs that Kroger hires. The checkout people seemed intelligent, like college material (that doesn't necessarily mean smart these days but Kroger staff isn't even GED material) while the people hired to cut meat at the Kroger don't even know as much as that a quarter pound of meat means you stop at 0.25. Hell, recently the bread was marked half off and when Jeffrey was done complaining that "they" should have marked it he got on his phone to figure what half of $4.99 was. And he didn't smile when I kiddingly said it should be two forty nine and a half. Respect to the thin woman with the short blond hair and to the checkout clerks who showed evidence of having more than respirations and a pulse. Oh, and a pound of baking soda was $0.99 and will last the rest of my life. read more

Our go-to grocery store. The staff is so friendly and helpful! My 6 year old daughter loves searching for "claws" their mascot throughout the store so she can get her sucker and stickers at check out. They have a great selection of amazing quality food and produce of every kind. I honestly prefer the TJ brand to others because of the quality and the fact they don't use dyes and other yucky ingredients. The store is always well kept, clean, and always has different products that are fun to try. The bathrooms are extremely clean. There's hardly ever a wait time to check out and if there is it's maybe a minute or two. We love this store! read more

Not only is this my go-to grocery store for their excellent quality and affordable prices, but hands down Grosse Pointe is my FAVORITE TJ's location!! Their layout is functional and displays are satisfyingly temping for you to see the latest products. Always greeted with a smile and happy to give you samples of their products. A manager even gave me flowers on my birthday... BEST customer service!! I can get all my favorites (some in pictures), but I also look forward to their seasonal selection of various delights! They even have plenty of gluten-free and vegan options! From their fresh flowers and produce, salmon and filet (only place I'll buy meat/seafood), to their elaborate frozen selection, and yummy dog treats (according to my puppers ), Trader Joe's is a home run for me! read more

I was staying with family in town, and I was in need of some snacks and other food to get me by during my visit, so I am very thankful that I was able to locate a Trade Joe's. I always look forward to my visits here because I know I'll score some excellent food deals and because I never know what else I might find. I was able to find some snack bars as well as other food to last a whole week. (Maybe I should have eaten something upon shopping for groceries.) and in addition, I was able to find some really cool shopping bags to bring home. Upon checking out, our cashier was friendly and prompt, with great customer service. Bill was not as bad as I had anticipated. My experience, on the whole, lived up to my expectations, and I am very pleased with it. read more

Great frozen foods and dry stock for a good price. Nice beer selection too. The produce, dairy, and meat, and essentials selection (paper towel, toilet paper, etc.) tend to be pricier and more limited, though they are generally of good quality if you can afford it. The shops are small by design, clean and its easy to identify what is in each aisle. The floral selection is also nice and of good quality and decent price. Items I would highly recommend are: Indian Cuisine frozen meals. Especially the Tikka and Butter Chicken (I find the vindaloo to be much more vinegary then I care for) and the chana masala amazing. The frozen naan is delicious, fast, and a wonderful side. The curried vegetable packets for tikka veg and takka dal are great. As are their simmer sauces. The spicy penne arrabbiata cooks up great and also pares will with the garlic naan. Their Ghee, Tahini Sauce, Lemon Curd, everything bagel spice are also stock items for my pantry. They have a great cracker selection too. The service is also always been exceptional. Ive had employees rush to the back to check if they made items and find them for me. I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's! Where has it been all my life??! This location is pretty close to my house and I've just started shopping here recently. SO. MANY. OPTIONS. The staff here is so helpful! If you're looking for suggestions on what's good, they'll be more than happy to help. Prices are pretty great, too. I love that they rotate items due to seasons so you'll always find new items to try. My favorite items thus far have been their vegetable fried rice, wontons, and mediterranean hummus. Produce may be slightly higher than what you're used to paying but I can definitely say that it's been fresher than what I've bought elsewhere. Did I mention their flowers?? I bought two bouquets of roses for $8 ($3.99 each) and they lasted over 2 weeks! Amazing deal! Trader Joe does validate parking if you park in the nearby garage as well. read more

My staples here are their wild blueberries or dried fruits and nuts. They also have some really good cereal as well. I like to get their sushi rolls, but have to make sure they're close to the date when they were made. They have some really good balsamic chicken, that is already prepared and cooked. My family has been going to this place for a long time and always getting their balsamic chickens and sushi from here. I love browsing their prepared food cooler and checking out what's available. They have great options and varieties of fruits and vegetables in the produce section. I also like getting a variety of their cereals and baked goods as well. My mother loves all their prepared frozen foods, but I try to avoid buying frozen food in general. I usually come to this location when I visit my mother. This location has the parking structure next to it and seems more tidy and neat than the location by my house and Royal Oak. Still I am happy to see that all the locations generally have the same products. There's consistency at all their locations. read more

A quick stop to Trader Joe's is a perfect date night for this Mrs. We stocked up on Chi Tea and some frozen quick meal items and vegetables. We had to get some candy as well. I love Trader Joe's. My only problem with them is I wish there were more stores, closer to me. The 2 that I have near me, well, aren't so near. But I definitely make the 24 mile drive to this Grosse Pointe location because their products are THAT amazing! The stores are all laid out exactly the same, so shopping at one will look the same as shopping at another. I like the ease of that. And speaking of ease, the store, while not super large as whole is easy to navigate through, even at busy times. Employees are always super friendly and willing to help. I've often asked opinions about products or with help finding something. They guarantee all their items, so if you're not a fan of something, returns/exchanges are easy. Their floral department is amazing! A ton of fresh cut bouquets and foliage, at prices so low you won't believe it. They make great hostess, housewarming or celebration gifts. I've bought a few of their plants and succulents over the years and still have them. They offer great quality products, organic and not, at prices lower than you would except. From fresh produce and bread, to pantry items, a great frozen section, beer and wine, dairy and even personal care items and pet food, just to name a few. My go-to items here are the dried nuts/seeds and fruit, their "everything bagel seasoning", the Indian garlic naan bread, any of their quick frozen meals, and their beer. Definitely check out their beer and wine section- ridiculously low prices and their products taste amazing. 4 words to sum up Trader Joe's: consistency, quality, highly recommend! read more

Best customer service I have ever received! Truly! Went shopping today with my 6 month old daughter. Half way through my baby started crying (every parents nightmare). I decided to cut the trip short, got to the counter and realized that I had left my wallet in the car. I asked the cashier Meghan if I could leave the basket and return and she smiled and said of course. When I got back 10 minutes later I found that she had scanned and bagged up all my items, placed them in the cooler so they wouldn't get warm, and had picked out a flower for me to make my day better (so sweet and thoughtful!). Since I was on the brink of a baby meltdown at this point, being able to quickly pay and leave made all the difference. Thank you Meghan for your kindness and understanding. Today while venturing out to get some essentials, I was blown away at how professional and responsible they are during is covid19. Aside from the great products at the store what makes this Trader Joe's exceptional are the people who work there. On two separate occasions at check out they noticed something wasn't quite right with a proficiency I selected and literally ran to replace it. They are always courteous and friendly. Especially in these trying times we are in the TJs employees are a welcome respite. The store is extremely well organized and managed with the customer in mind. They are warriors of positivity and I am so grateful for them putting in the time and risk to feed the people of our community. read more

Grosse Pointe like Detroit can be both a noun and an adjective. As in "that is SO Grosse Pointe" Trader Joes is not Grosse Pointe. To be GP it has to be upscale, and accessable to less than 2% of the population. GP is like Mensa, hard to get in and prestigious as hel when you do arrive. Grosse Pointe invented the words snob, and upscale. I found myself out near St John Hospital at the end of my tour and remembering that there was nothing n the friderator for dinner tomorrow I decided to swing by TJ;s for a few supplies. It wasn't like I hadn't been to TJ's before. I had been in Ann Arbor, and I liked it. I even lobbied them for a location in Toledo, but alas I was shot down like one of the Red Baron's victims. The store is very clean and well kept, and things are easy to find which was a very pleasant experience. I couldnt find the chocolate bars I love so much, so I asked Nicole, a cashier where they were. instead of telling me to go down one aisle and turning, she took me right to the item and showed me that there were 3 different varieties. I liked that. When I got ready to cash out, K.C was very sunny and charming and very nice. She even laughed at my lame attempt at humour. The nicest thing was that she offered to validate my parking, but i had found parking down on Kercheval and I told her that I probably had a ticket from the city. (I didnt). I will return. and not just for things I cannot get at the mercado. I'm adding this to my list of cool things in the D, even if it is GP. read more

HEAVENNN!!!!! well, at least a glimpse of it. this place is pretty similar to whole foods, but probably a wee bit smaller. located in the kressbach place which is pretty much equivalent to the rice village in houston (kind of). i'd have to say... they do have the BEST dark chocolate covered edamame! sooo goood! lots and lots of organic stuff, drinks, produce, cookies, crackers.. anything you can find in a grocery.. you will find here but it's mostly organic. they have friendly people working here.. very helpful and of course the hi-light of the store are their samplers! I am making the "O face" over here for Trader Joe's....and they only had to buy me dinner first. ;) I have been addicted to TJ's for a long time now. I am a spoiled Cali transplant, who got used to a TJ's on every corner instead of gross mass grocery chains. Alas, I will still travel 20 minutes for my dear Trader Joe, for he treats me so well. First off, the food. Yes, that's why we go to a grocery store, right? I can list probably 10 things on the list of my "all-time favorite foods" and 9 of them come from TJ's. From the bruschetta sauce on chiabatta, to the spicy california rolls, to the ham, caramelized onions and gruyere tart...I'm a foodie in food heaven. Everything is just so frickin' good here! The food is outstanding, with their specialties being their own recipes and brands (try the Jo-Jos and you will forget any other cookie exists on the planet). They have an awesome selection of organic and healthful foods of all types of cuisines. Another thing that makes me do a happy dance for TJ's is the price. I'm watching my budget, just like everyone else...and I'll admit, I'm totally frugal. Consistently prices are lower here than Kroger, Meijer or the other chains. They don't do sales, but they don't have to. I think this is the best deal for the money that you'll find. Today, my bf & I got 3-4 days worth of food for $70. Now at first that may seem like a lot, but I cook/prepare 3-5 meals a day at home for the both of us. That comes down to like $10-12/per person per day (for 3 meals, 3 snacks AND desert!!!!)...that's pretty good considering we are eating fresh, organic and healthy food. Lastly, the service has never been anything but top notch (at this location or any other). I can't say how happy it makes me to go to TJ's, everyone's always so happy...it's like the Disneyland of grocery stores. The staff is knowledgeable and even offer suggestions of new things to try or tips on how to prepare items. *They actually WELCOME returns. The store policy is anything you aren't in love with can be brought back. This gives shoppers confidence to try the items they may never have bought, knowing their money is not wasted if they end up not loving the food. I love Trader Joe's for 5 reasons. 1. They have certain products that you just can't get in American grocery stores. E.g. Creme fraiche, lemon curd, etc. 2. They have quality products that you CAN get at almost every grocery store (Kroger's), but the quality is head and shoulders above what you will find for just a slight amount more money (e.g., Black Bean Soup, Tomato Bisque, whole bean coffee, etc.) 3. Their customer service is just ridiculous. At first you can't believe how helpful they are...the first time it happened, I thought "oh, that must have been the store manager" BUT NO...THEY ARE ALL LIKE THAT! WOW! 4. Their "affordable" (sub $15) wine selection is awesome. Tons of varietals, hidden gems you just don't see everyday and great prices compared to local wine spots. 5. And last, but definitely not least, their frozen food selection is just flat out the best. Kung Pao chicken, chicken tacos, veggie lasagna, green chile chicken burritos, you name it....they likely have it and it's typically tremendous for a frozen dish. Now the bad news (and why I gave them only 4 stars)...their produce section is not good. It's really small, the quality is inconsistent at best; and quite frankly I couldn't tell you the last time I even stopped in the section. But all in all, you can't go wrong with TJ's...great store, great products, great service and a great experience. read more

I just bought this place so much I am so happy we have one in my neighborhood what I like about this grocery store is that they carry such odd and wonderful things that you are not going to find anywhere else. Every season they come out with new items that I look forward to getting back every holiday. I do probably 50 percent of my Christmas shopping here just adorable little gifts they have made up along with the amazing cookies from Germany on the way to Poland. The quality of food is great but one thing I'm going to recommend is if you're going to buy any fruit bread or anything fresh is that you use it quick cuz it does go bad fast. read more

Only my second time shopping at Trader Joe's. This location is like all the other locations I have stepped foot in. They don't sell as many items as the bigger grocery stores but it will do. The people who work here are very friendly. They also have a parking lot. Don't forget to get your parking validated by the cashier! The parking lot is a bit weird to get out of so beware! read more

This location is way better than the Woodward location! I enjoy going here but cannot say it everything I thought it would be. Still trying to find the one thing that will keep me coming back...so far the chicken and beef burritos are the best thing I have had here...and the cereal is actually pretty good but not enough to keep me coming. I have not giving up yet...hopefully will find something dreams are made of so I can change my rating. The produce section though is slightly above food bank quality...but there is a Kroger across street. read more
