It is local; not sure I'd come here if it weren't just round the corner. First and foremost, the number of Disabled parking spaces is deplorable for a business this large - absolutely no excuse for this. There are probably more spaces for order pick-ups. They are continuously moving food items throughout the store so there is really no quick in and out trip for necessities. The isles are too narrow for such a budy store.. This is definitely a store that profiles individuals and I feel that is raciest. As I was at the self scan we were getting watched like we were stealing. Then the lady came over to see if we scanned everything which I feel like she was profiling. It was very uncomfortable . I work hard for what I have I feel like people shouldn't be judged by the way they look. These employees are actually horrible. I was looking for rubber bands, so I asked an employee but when he sent me to the aisle I found the wrong type of rubber bands which is my fault. So I go back and ask him for hair rubber bands and he sent me to the mouthwash section. Now I'm mad I've walked all over this store for rubber bands for nothing, so I left without my rubber bands. Nothing to see here but another bourbon run to check inventory while out of town. Parked in their spacious clean lot and headed right into the sectioned off liquor area. The staff never approached me for help. I browsed and saw a few interesting bottles of bourbon but left empty handed. The shelves were clean and organized. This Kroger Marketplace surprised the crap outta me. I've never been in one before and I had no clue what I was walking into. Heads up people, this isn't your ordinary Kroger. It includes what they describe as a "marketplace" and it has everything from clothing to home goods, on top of your typical grocery finds. I've been here twice, each time being a random trip, as I just happened to be in the neighborhood. Both times I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful the staff was and how quickly I was in and out of there. I will no longer be shopping at Kroger, grocery stores. They no longer put the customer first, but instead they prioritize their expense savings ahead of the customer. Arrived early this morning at the Kroger in Gahanna on S. Hamilton Rd. to return two items. I was told I had to come back at 8 AM because they don't have anybody who can handle returns during the first hour that the store is open. A week prior when I entered the store about 7 AM as well, there were no human beings available to check me out, and the self service line was backed up down the aisle. Raise my concerns with two managers in the Kroger store when I returned a few moments ago to transact my return items that they couldn't handle this morning and they made it very clear to me that sometimes that's just the way it is what they told me. They went on to tell me that the fact that they can't handle my return at 7 AM when they are open it's no different than a bank not able to transact my banking during ours when the bank is closed. He was a young manager, and he seem to want to school me on the fact the times have-changed. I reminded him of the old school philosophy that the customer is king and I told him that I would not be shopping at Kroger ever again. read more

Still a great store and great prices. Too small of a parking lot, you are lucky to find a spot. Also if you are in a hurry do not go in between 2 pm and 4 pm. It is full of high schoolers. Been coming to this krogers for more then a decade live right by so it's always been so convenient and staff was always friendly Until recently . There are always expired sale tags and no lines open but self check out which usually the lines are all the way backed up. Most importantly management not all but most is rude and dismissive of my concerns when brought up. The 1 I waited 15 minutes to talk to and she was rude didn't care and raised her voice at me in front of so many customers then storms off. i stopped at this Kroger Marketplace on my way home from work and was pleasantly surprised! All of the cart carrels were empty and the carts were inside. There was a young woman hustling to get all the carts inside and I was impressed at her efficiency. That's a very busy Kroger at a busy time, and so often no carts are to be found on the store. Check your pickup order. You cant return or exchange things right now. I have been attempting to do my part in stopping COVID19 by using pickup services, even though I don't live anywhere near this Kroger. Every time, the people who bring my order out are very friendly, engaging, and wonderful. However, almost every time, there is something incorrect about my order. Most recently, I needed low sodium soy sauce. I checked 'Yes' for substitutions in case they were out of the specific type I'd ordered, but I specified it had to be low sodium. I did not notice I'd gotten regular soy sauce (and also, a small tray of meat and cheese whose packaging was punctured and the food within, discolored) until I got home. I was unable to exchange either item. I'm thankful I only lost $6. I've resolved to shop only at independent stores for as long as this lasts and my experiences here have proven to me that I need to try finding an independent grocer as well. read more

Make sure you are getting deals marked on the shelf when you check out. Often times the sale price does not ring up correctly and if you don't catch it before your order is totaled up, you are out off luck. The only recourse is to go to the customer service station to request a refund and usually there are 5 or 6 people already in line. Most people, including myself, don't want to wait half an hour to an hour to maybe get reimbursed. read more

This Kroger reminds me of a Giant Eagle. Why? It's a Kroger Marketplace, that's why. It's much more than a regular Krogera and it has its own Gas Station with big discounts right outside! I frequent this Kroger quite a bit and every time I go I have trouble finding things, because this Kroger is huge! I'm not complaining, but I do like to find what I'm looking for as quickly as possible. After today's excursion, I learned a lot more about the layout, so I won't have as much trouble next time. I got my flu shot hear at the Pharmacy just a few weeks ago. The Pharmacists were very helpful and gentle with me :-) I haven't gotten a flu shot in about 15 years or so. I can't remember. But this experience was worth it, plus the price was right. They've got a great Pharmacy Department at this Kroger. When you first walk into the mainentrance, there it is staring you straight in the face. Starbucks, of course. And, to the left of Starbucks is a very trendy magazine and book section for those of us who would rather relax than shop. The decor reminds me of a newer Giant Eagle. It's very well done, which always lifts the spirits. The only problem I typically encounter at this Kroger is that it's always busy. It's hard to believe, but true. I usually stop in during the middle of the day when it should be less crowded, but I still have to wait in line even for the self-checkout lines! Today all 6 self-checkout lines were occupied at 2:30pm. What is up with that? To add insult to injury, each customer appeared to have exceeded the item limit AND were taking their sweet old time. Man, how I hate slowpokes. Don't you? I can only imagine how busy it is after 5pm! At any rate, it's a very nice Kroger with nice people and a great selection along with great prices. This is one of my favorite Kroger stores to shop at. I just love the area. It's rarely crowded when I go (I may just be lucky) and always clean. The produce is always up to par and I have never had any issues. That is something that is important to my since I do not buy frozen food. Fresh is Best! They never disappoint. I noticed this time around that they now have the scan as you go devices and I may try them the next time I'm there. I'm hesitant because I feel like it will slow me down. The staff is always nice and that is refreshing since they have a bunch of younger kids working. They are always polite and willing to assist. Grade: A- read more

The pharmacy is terrible! The staff are rude and really do not care about their customers. I always have to make multiple trips to get my regular prescriptions. The auto refill is a joke. I have been told insistently that one of my prescriptions (Vit B12) , which I have filled there multiple times--that it was not even prescribed and they looked at me like I was a nut--and I might add not so quietly so that others looked at me like I was a nut. The issue was they did not recognize the generic name-this does not give you a lot of confidence. The B12 is by injection and when i initially picked it up they did not give me ordered syringes--when I challenged this I was told to go to another pharmacy--they refused to even call to verify that I could get them. I refused and suddenly the pharmacist produced a box of syringes! I could go on and on-but if you have a choice go elsewhere. read more

While I have a Kroger closer to me I often use this one for quite a few reasons. First off it's a 'Marketplace' store offering more general merchandise and other specialized departments than the usual grocery only store. Second, this store is always clean, well lit, uncluttered and personally I've never had a problem finding assistance finding things or resolving any issues. But the main reason for this review is their new 'Clicklist' online shopping service. I shopped from over 40,000 offerings to put my online order together, often checking my cabinets for items I needed and scheduled a pickup for the next day. I received a confirmation email and the option to add or change my order up till Midnight that day. The online ordering is very easy and allows you add specialized instructions or allow substitutions on everything. Showing up in the middle of my scheduled hour long window, I found the signage directing me to the well marked parking area at the side of the store and called the phone number on the signs. My call was answered quickly and within 5 minutes my order was being wheeled out to me by 3 workers. They took time to review my order and noted any substitutions that were made giving me the choice to accept them or not. I was able to pay for my order on the spot with a credit card and used the few paper coupons I had. My order was quickly loaded and I was on my way with time and energy to spare! A grocery trip like this usually takes me 3 to 5 hours from planning, travel time, shopping time and hauling it home and putting it all away. This boiled it all down to less than 90 minutes total for me and while the first 3 uses of this service are 'Free', the flat $4.95 service fee is truly negligible when it comes to time and convenience. read more

I started going to this location after Stoneridge remodeled (and they put things in weird places) and I've found it's easy to shop here, even though it's huge. Saturdays and Sundays are very busy and stock in the veggie section can be scarce, though they are always restocking. Selection across most departments is pretty good and I like that they have a large home and seasonal section (especially Halloween and Christmas candy/decor). The liquor store inside has great variety and purchasing is quick. My only complaint is I wish they carried fresher seafood but then again we are in Ohio... read more

Pharmacy at this location leaves a lot to be desired. More often than not there are long lines and I have waited as much as 27 minutes. The last two times they told me that the medication was not covered by my insurance and they tried to charge me at a none insurance rate. I have received this med for over a year (covered by insurance) Both times I had to contact the insurer and they verified the coverage. The last two refills I received 50 tablets instead of the prescribed 60. Each time they stated that was all the insurance will cover. This is my go-to store for groceries and other household essentials. I loved when they made it into a marketplace with clothing and what not, I've actually bought a few things there for good prices and they're cute. I've never had any issues and have always been happy with their customer service (I've had to do a few returns and the process is always quick and easy even when I haven't been able to find my receipt but bring it in soon after purchasing). I've only used it once, but clicklist makes it so that you can order groceries online and have them bring them out to your car. That definitely adds to the convenience factor. read more

Complete and utter chaos 7 days a week. Basic grocery essentials like cheese, coffee creamer and tomato sauce are constantly out of stock. And forget about your Free Friday Download all together, or anything with a coupon for that matter...by the time they get it back in, it'll be expired. Even the pharmacy can't seem to keep the Kroger Brand cold medication on hand. I have given them over a year to get it together, but I can NEVER get even 75% of what's on my list in one trip...love the app and Simple Truth/Private Selection brands but no good if I can never actually find them. This is by far the WORST Kroger in Gahanna! I ordered flowers from the floral department for my bridal shower. They didn't look anything like i ordered. MELISSA was so rude when I picked them up. The flowers were on the ground in a box and from a distance, she asked me if they looked ok. I said yes ( didn't get an upclose view) she rushed me to the register to pay- $628.88 for flowers that died two days later! When I officially put them in my cart ( she didn't help at all) I told her how much I didn't like them. They were dying when I picked them up. As I'm going back and forth with the "manager" Adam- he wouldn't even give me a half refund. He decided he'd give me 90$ worth.. Come to find out when I got home, all the flowers were in different sized vases. The Lilly's didn't even bloom either! And the night before I'm scrambling to get ready for my bridal shower and I get half the vases in different sizes. I ordered one for my head table, I didn't even get that. I contacted corporate and didn't get much help. Moral of the story, don't order flowers from this Kroger!!! read more

I typically shop at Stoneridge and like that one much better. This Kroger is "bigger" but they've jammed so much stuff inside that it's hard to move around and you always end up in other people's way. Seems clean but usually dark around the produce area where it should be the brightest. Staff is usually nice but not always "seen". The 5 aisles of kids toys is an afterthought that needs to be ixnayed. Bonus: State Liquor Store. you'll need it for after.. the parking lot. Parking lot is a death trap. It shares its space with other businesses on the side and in front. It's like running the gauntlet to get to your car and a game a chance that you won't get hit or accidentally hit someone trying to get out. The no-clear-exit-from-the-lot strategy is also fun. This is my favorite Kroger to go to. Anytime I'm at a different Kroger I talk about how it compares to "MY" Kroger. I don't even live in Gahanna lol! The employees are SO kind, and friendly. They are always smiling, and ask how your day is, or if you need help with anything. They are polite, and make me enjoy visiting the Gahanna Kroger's. The layout of this store flows well, and the isles are not like other Kroger's where they've tried to squeeze too many isles in. It is spacious, and organized. It is frustrating to go around lunch time or after school due to it being next to the high school but that is not their fault and is minor to me. It was not long ago that I was a high schooler crowding grocery store isles with my friends lol! I saw comments about issues with parking, but I've never had an issue finding a parking spot. This is the Kroger closest to home for me. I'm so thankful it's Kroger "Marketplace" because the Natural section for me is a must. I can't complain about the natural section. They have plenty of vegan, natural, gluten free, organic and gmo free items. It's not a huge selection but it's enough. They recently moved organic frozen vegetables to the regular vegetable section. I guess they had to make room but I don't like that. Anyway, as a marketplace they have it all, groceries, house ware, furniture, decor, toys and apparel. They also have a jewelry store and Starbucks. Their Turkey Hill gas station is on the property, so it's very convenient. The customer service is good. read more
