Oh, I did what I did what I said wouldnt do. I went back to NA Kroger. This time the store was clean and very organized. No boxes in aisles! Produce looked great. Staff I interacted with was professional and friendly. Especially the check out lady. She is spectacular. I went there for tofu. Grabbed a few things while getting to its aisle. There the hiccups began. I had looked on line for chickpea tofu. Krogers online website confirmed it was available here. (Which is why I came in) Then once I was there it was no where to be found. Go back on line still available but this time I continued to procede as if I was ordering it for pick up. and when I tried to complete the order It then says its no longer available. So that was a bummer. Wasted trip in. So I proceed to check out. I use the big self checkout with the conveyor. Well that didnt want to take my mums down the belt so I put them at the bottom after scanning however the computer kept saying start over and ask for help. So i hit the light to get help and waited... patiently However... That help was impossible to get right away as the lady who monitors the self scan lanes was now knee deep in a complicated situation with a complicated customer. So as Im patiently waiting for her to get that situation resolved.... Which with this particular customer wasnt happening quickly. Lol. Meanwhile management is absent from this situation which was quickly becoming a spectacle. One that warrants John Quinones (from what would you do) to emerge from some corner with his camera crew Finally it is resolved. The cashier helps me. She is as nice as can be. However I was wishing I was anywhere but Kroger for the five minutes it took to deal with the customer/situation. I guess Its Johnstown or Gahanna for Kroger purchases again until I forget why I dont shop here -like I did today. Bummer. read more

I hate giving a bad review to Kroger NA because I've shopped there for years and don't generally have an issue. But lately, and I mean, for the past month or more, our milk sours before the date on the carton or within a day or two later. I don't know whether they're having trouble with their refrigeration or what, but this is unacceptable. Our sandwich meats, too, are going bad long before they should, and broccoli yellows often within a few days of buying it. Yes, I know I can return it, but who's got the time and energy to make a special trip just to exchange things that shouldn't have gone bad in the first place? Up your game, Kroger; please. I want to continue to shop with you, but if this continues, Giant Eagle is actually closer to us, and we won't hesitate to switch. We spend a TON of money on groceries. read more

Kroger 5161 Hampsted Village Center Way, New Albany, OH 43054 Phone 614 855 8665--DO NOT SHOP HERE!. 3 days in a row I was at the store (because I was looking for THIS particular item and other Thanksgiving shopping). FAGE yogurt was expired from October. Today is 11/26. I went in on 11/23 also-brought up these 12 expired yogurts from October (cleared the shelf except for 3 I couldn't reach) they said thank you, so sorry we will take care of it. I went back on 11/24, FOUND THE SAME 12 EXPIRED YOGURTS PUT BACK ON THE SHELF FROM OCTOBER (because I cleared them out the day before) brought them to Supervisor Serena, she said they were short staffed and would let Dairy know and they were so sorry. I went back on 11/26 and FOUND THE SAME 12 EXPIRED YOGURTS FROM OCTOBER (THIS IS 11/26) PUT BACK ON THE SHELF. Spoke to Team Leader Patti she apologized (after I told her this was the 3rd day of reporting the same problem). This was VERY FRUSTRATING and not sure I can now trust Kroger with any meats, dairy or eggs etc with expiration dates and stuff being put back on shelves expired. I did call Corporate as well. There just seemed to be too much items and not enough room on the shelves so the staff just towered them next to the shelves on the floor. NEW Let's start by saying this negative review is WAY past due as I have experienced TIME after time total disregard for the customer. On 8-12-22 at 9:10 pm my sale price beer rang up incorrect, I was told to run back and get a picture of the signage stating the sale price, returned only for him to look at it and say we can't adjust alcohol once it's rung up. I ask if he could call the manager to do it, he said they're going to tell you the same thing. In my head I'm thinking, then why did you make me run all the way to the back of the store to get proof? I nicely informed the employee I would be writing a review. I don't know how anyone else feels but, my eyes it is a form of dishonesty, disregard, and stealing money ( regardless of price ) from the consumer. The gentleman next to me spoke up and said " I heard all that, would you like help writing your review ". Here's the kicker, when I got home and looked at my receipt I noticed not only did I not get the sales price, I was charged more than the original price?!?!? Really Krogers? It's upsetting that now I will have to drive out of my way to get my groceries because I will no longer be treated with this disrespect. if corporate happens to read this review perhaps you could integrate integrity into your training manual. We started coming to this Kroger in March when the Pandemic was in full swing. It's 3 miles from our home and our other Kroger is only a mile away from the house; still, we make the weekly short trek to New Albany as this store is better stocked than the other one so it became out tried and true go-to store. Plus, it's on the way to our doggie day care we have more than one stop and it is between our home and where my parents reside in their assisted living in Granville so it became our stop for them since July. Great, great, great consistent staff. Very friendly. Very professional and fun despite this awful time in our country. I will admit when this store was undergoing renovations about a year or so ago, I hate it. There was absolutely no method to the madness where items were temporarily placed. Thank God we hung in there. Now we use both Krogers close to the house. This one for our weekly stop and the other as it has a liquor store inside when we need fresh bottles for our home bar! :) read more

I've been exploring grocery stores in there area, comparing prices and inventory while also getting my steps in ;) This spot is almost the same as the whole food, while boasting competitive prices and offering just about all of the same goodies! Plus, look at that cake in the picture.. it's a chocolate plate full of chocolate on a chocolate cake covered in chocolate. That's going to be my birthday cake.. please still be there!! 3rd time in a row that I have walked to the fresh seafood area and no one is there. 3 Kroger associates walk by me and say nothing. Finally a very nice Kroger associate asks me if I have been helped. I say no, not yet. She goes to the back to find an associate. Associate comes out but says nothing (apologize, what can I help you with etc). I ask for my fresh fish. I get it and say thank you. Nothing. Clearly I am bothering this associate. Pay for my fish (the only think I purchased) and go to customer service to just let them know about this. Associate was very nice but lets me know that she is not in charge of that department. She asks me if she can call a manager. I say that's great. She calls. I wait. After a few minutes she says, she's over there pushing a cart around if you want I can get her, but I don't think she will come over here. I'm good. I leave. Next time I will make sure I go to Giant Eagle which is up the street. read more

Said he has to have a physical copy for cameras. I'm 40 years old. He refused. Just a mAjor inconvenience. 1/15/20-1/25-20-My son goes bananas using my debit card on his Xbox so I purchased a "green dot" card so I can load money in it for him to use. Once it's gone, it's gone. "Tonja", a MGR here has been working customer service the last fEw times I've beEn in to do it, every time she does something wrong and gets angry with me cause they have to do some lengthy process oN theiR end to correct problem. I have to say that before I moved to Ohio I had never heard of Kroger - this one is around the corner from my place, so I decided to check it out. I am a fan! Great wine selection and wine tastings. Really good cheeses and a nice bakery. Best of all, some good latin items that were hard to find anywhere else in the area and the prices were not outrageous... They also have a Starbucks and a cleaners in the store. read more

I visited this Kroger's at Approximately 8:30 am this morning July 23rd 2019* I always get a greeting and excellent customer service from the staff here * What really set my experience into a sky rocketing Wow was a few things that should gain recognition throughout the company * One was the awesome way that the produce department displayed their items* They cut open one of the items in each section & covered it in see through wrap so the customer would no exactly what they would be eating after purchase (fresh) * Honestly I went in for water and bananas but the way the produce was displayed made me want to purchase more * So I grabbed a couple of bags an began to shop a number of produce sections * The produce manager Travis greeted me with a smile but the thing that most made me feel welcome was the way he treated his employees* I observed his interaction while an employee asked him a question * He treated his employee with the same compassion that he greeted the customer with * I could tell that he has a passion for the business and it's this type of passion that will help drive the business into increased sales* The produce displays looked clean,fresh and ready for me the customer* I really think that Travis should get some recognition for having the kind of personality that his staff can mirror through appreciation * I would also like for his staff to be recognized for displaying every item they touch as if they were going to purchase them for themselves * People that want to do things right doesn't just stop in the store * They are the kind of people you want in your community * I don't always write reviews because I am a hard person to impress* Well Kroger's at New Albany you impressed me * Thank you all for a fantastic morning * B.K Landers (A Great Remodel To *****) read more

This has to be my second favorite Kroger. If I lived a little closer, I would be here all the time. It is a very upscale Kroger. Nice and new. What do you expect for New Albany? Nothing but the best. Naturally, this Kroger has all of the pros related to any other Kroger except that it is newer and more appealing to the eye. Despite the decor and location, the prices are still very competitive. Located near the heart of New Albany just off the new Rt 161 freeway near the famed Plain Local public school campus, this Kroger has it all. It's almost like one of the Kroger Superstores, but it's not. It's surrounded by the typical strip mall retail shops such as a great Chinese Restaurant and the local HER Real Estate office. It's a great shopping destination. Quick Sunday morning trip for some baggies, etc and I discovered the "Buy 5 Save 5" special of the day. Does this motivate me to purchase additional items? Yes, but we needed paper towels and we can always use tissues. So $24 worth of freezer bags, food storage containers and paper products cost $13. Worth it. Store was very clean and well stocked for a Sunday morning. My only complaint about this store is the irregular hours of the beer taps. I had to return something to this Kroger and the staff was knowledable and friendly. They went out of their way to provide excellent customer service. While at check out, I noticed that the produce I had chosen was not as it should be, and rather than just put it aside, a young many volunteered to go get me another package while I finished checking out. When I started to leave without one of my bags, another young employee made sure I took it. They were all wonderful to work with. Good hiring, good training, good kids working hard!!! read more

I like this Kroger. The layout is very easy to navigate and it is always very clean. Right now, they have a beautiful old wagon and tons of pumpkins set up when you first walk in. I like a grocery store that embraces my favorite season! The produce is appropriately priced and always very fresh. They have a wonderful selection of items as well, some that I couldn't find in other grocery stores (such as Asian Sprouts). Their sushi is always good, maybe a little highly priced. The deli is always busy but the prices are right, they have awesome specials on the Boars Head Deli Meats (only ones I'll buy!). The wine selection is really nice, and they usually have someone handing out free samples of new wines within their stores. The beer selection does not compare to GE- sorry Kroger, I'm not too impressed. I do have to say, I'd rather get my fish and steaks from GE or Whole Foods. Overall- this is where we prefer to shop because we can get what we need for the right price. read more

The store layout is good, nice cheese and wine section, but their ice cream coolers, especially for the Jeni's products is deplorable. Ice clumped up all over the product and while a few calls have been made to both Jeni's and Kroger's personnel, they do nothing about it. It is an easy fix to make this cooler work correctly, but seemingly they don't and haven't for many weeks on end. I won't buy my ice cream from this store due to their lack of fundamentals and unfortunately make an extra trip to Giant Eagle across the way to purchase items that are better presented. read more

In a great neighborhood, but the workers here are incredibly rude. I remember asking for paper bag, to save the environment, and the worker stuffed everything and into 1 bag (I had about 10 normal size snack boxes) and the bag fell apart. I asked if he could re bag into multiple bags so this wouldn't happen again. The kid did so and once I walked away, I heard a "F**k off" mumbled from him. I'll start with the positives. The store has a great selection of organics and is very clean. The negatives? Customer service, but that seems to be a common trend with this chain in this region. I'm buying a few items and one of the prices is not in the system. Not the customers fault, but the way the self service check out attendant acted it.. It seemed to be. After waiting for several minutes for her to walk over when she finished her conversation with another employee she asked me how much the product was and I said "I'm not sure I think $1.99?" She responds with, "$10.99?". I repeated myself and then she doesn't even check the price, she just gives me a whole bunch of attitude and puts in what I said. I mean I should've not been honest and just told her a lower price because I have noticed this trend at krogers where they don't have their items priced and they expect the customer to know out of everything they are buying exactly how much that one item is. Every time I do my grocery shopping at any Kroger I'm disappointed and swear never to return? After spending $100.00 on just some fill in items I checked out. The checker just started ringing up the groceries and barely acknowledged that I was even standing in line. I thanked him and said have a nice day. Nothing in reply! As I walked with my cart across the store toward the exit I made eye contact with a manager and an employee. It was easy to see that their conversation about the store was way more important then me. By the time I reached my car I was angry and not at the store, but at myself. I thought what is wrong with this picture? The answer is "supermarkets" are exactly what's wrong with the grocery store experience. We are most of the time treated like cattle, NEXT! No customer service, no polite gestures to say thank you for your business. I normally do most of my shopping at "Whole Foods Markets" more organics, less processed foods, superb customer service, and the company philosophy keeps me engaged and wanting to support their stores. They would never expect their customers to wring up their own groceries! Because they get how ridiculous that is. Self check will never appear in a WF Market. Simply because they value their customers. This stores organic section in Kroger is being remodeled exactly like WF Markets, packaging, shelving, every detail. But nicer packaging is not enough or very original. I am looking forward to Whole Foods opening at Easton. They have earned my business through consistency. This is where I go when I want to shop for groceries on sale but get away from the crowds of places like Meijer or even the Giant Eagle. Not to say that many people don't shop at this Kroger but, that it just never feels crowded or stressful there, most likely due to the lay-out of it. They have a large wine section and if I remember correctly wine tasting nights that you can go to. The bakery has a ton of fancy and delicious pastries and sweets that you can't get from a lot of other Krogers or chain grocery stores in general and there's a fairly full international aisle. In a perfect world I would always shop at Trader Joe's, farmers markets, and ethnic markets for all my grocery needs but, this place is awfully convenient for me on those busy busy days, has some great perks to it (like that bakery), and I'm able to get a lot of groceries for a fair price. This store is very clean and safe. The produce is acceptable with some exceptions: the avocado are often very mushy, the strawberries close to rotting if not eaten soon, etc. As for the Friday night Wine Tastings, they get SO crowded and you have to stand in line for a very long time. If you arrive at 6:00, it ends promptly by 7:00 pm - and there is not enough time to get four pours two-ounce. (Even if you arrive prior to 6:00 pm, it is still difficult to get the four pours.) Nice upscale feel to this kroger. The prices are higher than Meijer's and Walmart but the convenience is worth it. It is also very close to a Giant Eagle. This means I can compare the weekly sales ad and go to whichever one is better for me. The kroger's prices are better but the gas rewards program at giant eagle is better. read more

I usually love this store. However, they advertised $1.00/package cookies and have a very large display as you enter the store. I grabbed my 20 packages for the food bank bags we are filling; went up to the check out and was told the sale didn't start until tomorrow. Having a large display stating $1.00/package right by the front door with small print stating (starts 11/4)...that's deceptive advertising and I am very frustrated!! read more

Our go to for grocery shopping in New Albany. Good prices and many items are a lot cheaper than the nearby Giant Eagle (which is absolutely our last resort for anything). It's not without its flaws (cashiers aren't typically friendly or eager to chat and they don't do a great job at keeping certain produce in stock), but overall a solid grocery store with a good selection of food. Their selection of flowers is typically very good and you can usually find a decent bottle of wine on sale too. read more

I hope Kroger's starts up their Friday night wine tasting again. Such a great crowd of people that come for the wine and do shopping after the tasting. I have attended the tasting for over 5 years and have met some wonderful people there. It would be ashamed to waste the remodeling done in the wine and beer section. I find the, I assume the bakery manager, to be most condescending. I went in the store this morning to get some special treats for my son's birthday. After he slapped the first piece on the counter, I asked if he could put them in a box. I was then informed that he first needed to see how many pieces I was purchasing because they had different size boxes with different dimensions. I guess it was the way he said it that made me feel like I had just asked a dumb question. All he had to say was yes. When I saw him there this morning, I actually walked around the store hoping that I could get someone else to wait on me since I had a similar experience with him before.
