a variety of beverages in a grocery store
    Viv P.

It's a normal Kroger. I'm writing a review just because I thought it was interesting that there were so many products on the floor. Not on the shelves. I mean on the floor. On purpose. There just seemed to be too much items and not enough room on the shelves so the staff just towered them next to the shelves on the floor. I was glad I didn't have a cart and was just picking up two items.

Kroger's charged me even more than the regular price

NEW Let's start by saying this negative review is WAY past due as I have experienced TIME after time total disregard for the customer. On 8-12-22 at 9:10 pm my sale price beer rang up incorrect, I was told to run back and get a picture of the signage stating the sale price, returned only for him to look at it and say we can't adjust alcohol once it's rung up. I ask if he could call the manager to do it, he said they're going to tell you the same thing. In my head I'm thinking, then why did you make me run all the way to the back of the store to get proof? I nicely informed the employee I would be writing a review. I don't know how anyone else feels but, my eyes it is a form of dishonesty, disregard, and stealing money ( regardless of price ) from the consumer. The gentleman next to me spoke up and said " I heard all that, would you like help writing your review ". Here's the kicker, when I got home and looked at my receipt I noticed not only did I not get the sales price, I was charged more than the original price?!?!? Really Krogers? It's upsetting that now I will have to drive out of my way to get my groceries because I will no longer be treated with this disrespect. if corporate happens to read this review perhaps you could integrate integrity into your training manual. But like they say, this is how the rich get richer, and the poor get poor. Goodbye Kroger's, hello giant eagle.

This is a great location. The store is very organized, the staff is nice and they have great deals from produce to meat.

I've been exploring grocery stores in there area, comparing prices and inventory while also getting my steps in ;) This spot is almost the same as the whole food, while boasting competitive prices and offering just about all of the same goodies! Plus, look at that cake in the picture.. it's a chocolate plate full of chocolate on a chocolate cake covered in chocolate. That's going to be my birthday cake.. please still be there!! They also one upped Whole Foods by having the Boars Head Curry Chicken lunch meat in their deli. It's really good, we love it. Try it as soon as you get a chance!

No red cabbage here, junk and poor quality!

Awful! Remodel doesn't solve corporate aloofness. Horrendous company that has never been customer minded! Blockades in main aisles to promote "stuff" and at then end of each aisle it's like a sphincter, more "promotions" and buggies CANNOT navigate easily! Clear the junk so we can shop and source quality vendors. Two minuscule pieces of red cabbage in 9.5 ounces! What ajon

I miss the $5 Friday donuts, but I've made the sacrifice to head over to Krogers $5 Friday donuts or, better yet, Costco's almond Danish. This Giant Eagle store is clean and well stocked with friendly employees. It is on the way for us and is much larger than our very small, former Big Bear store, closest to us. My biggest complaint is not something under the store's control. My GPS directs me TO the store, but leaving is impossible. I want Reynoldsburg New Albany Road. The GPS wants to put me on 161. That's out of the way. So I shut down the GPS and tried to retrace by steps and was frustrated when at a choice point, all the signs had some form of "New Albany E,N,W,S" in them. I was so confused, I thought I was in Pittsburgh! Bring your own bags. It's a good habit to get into. And it is slightly pricey, but your stuff lasts longer, so I think it's a wash. Cheap stores aren't so cheap when you have to throw things out because they have spoiled or have no taste.

Bags weren't over or under stuffed.... Everything just fit perfectly within the bags without items being squished or packed with items that they shouldn't be packed with. (Ie: meat with fruit. Aldi sells some kringles (danishes in the shape of an O) that are made by the O.H Bakery in Wisconsin and that bakery is pretty famous. Their price point for them is excellent. They currently have an almond one and a raspberry variety. This location is a little older and I always feel it's a little dingy, but it's still very clean. It's just old and well shopped there's always a ton of people at this location. Remember to bring $.25! Otherwise, you will be carrying all your items in your hands because carts are locked up and to unlock them. One needs $.25 which you get back when you return your cart. Also remember to bring bags or else you're gonna be spending $.10 a bag. If you don't want to spend the $.10 and didn't bring a bag they often have empty boxes from stock that they will gladly let you have to put your groceries in. Aldi is fairly self serve so You dont often see a team member but whenever I have needed one they are friendly and helpful. We come to aldi specifically to buy bread, shredded cheese, chicken, fish, and various milk milks. The price points on these items are consistently lower than the bigger national retailers.

There are certain staples that you can bet 99% of the time will be in - but others are hit or miss. However, given the quality of food and extreme savings, it is worth the minor annoyance when something you want is out of stock. I ALWAYS get my produce here. Same with canned goods and snacks. Also dairy. There are some things I buy weekly that I absolutely know they do not carry - but that's why having a Kroger down the street for my 2nd stop is just perfect. I don't recall ever having any issues with quality. But then again, there are few things that I require name brand for. (Unlike my hubby - but he buys everything name brand at Giant Eagle solely for the convenience factor - it's 1 mile from the house. When it comes to location - there is one that is convenient from one, one on the way home from work and one when I have reason to be up north of the city (heading home from my weekly trip to Cleveland perhaps). Getting a cart is easy enough - I always have plenty of quarters. I love that they always work (unlike other grocery stores) and are kept orderly outside. The cashiers are AMAZING with their speed. THey are also usually very nice. The bonus is the non-grocery items they carry. I have purchased several items of clothing that I love, shower curtains, garden supplies and even rose bushes and tree. Who wouldn't love that selection - always a surprise and in such a little store!!
