I'm not a frequent shopper at this Kroger but I've been here several times over the years because I have a relative that lives nearby and will occasionally pop in for stuff. On my most recently visit I went in for some unbleached coffee filters because I ran out the night before and had to use my backup bleached white coffee filters this morning. Maybe it was in my head but my coffee tasted funny this morning...since I was in the area and I knew once I went home after running around all day I wouldn't feel like running out again.... I watched this area get pretty built up in the early 2000's and was impressed with the mix used communities that is sprinkled throughout the area. Fruity Malik and Zay partners in crime are about the RUDEST people you could possibly pick for customer service to represent your store. They definitely have no home training. Any other Kroger's that I go into are happy to accept your returns and greet you with a smile they act bothered!!!!!! The last time I was in there ZAY had left the counter for over an hour after I walked in. After he said he'd be right back .....very rude and unprofessional both should find different employment..there's NOTHING personable about either of them. I placed my delivery order on line, I wrote the number of items I ordered as I checked my order before I submitted it. I did not receive 4 of the 23 items. When I called the 800 number Terrell could not find any orders by my phone number, which I've had for over 25 years. When he finally found my order he said he didn't see the items I didn't receive. He kept apologizing but it didn't seem to me that he cared at all. I won't be shopping there again. read more

while making a quick run to the store I was approached by a Betty who said she was the night supervisor that myself and another gentleman could not come in at 10:55 pm because they were closed. She even went as far at to block shopers in the store to prove that she had the right to not let us shop before the store was actually closed. This is unacceptable read more

I love the Kroger's store, the meat section, bakery etc The staff working around the store are friendly What was the worst is that they have all these checkout line. Not one checker working them. I've come into the store multiple times at different times and it's the same. Only self checkout. I don't mind self checkout but there are times I want a checker. There are longer lines in self check out because of this and only one employee working self checkout. I've had her multiple times and she isn't very customer service oriented. It could be because she is the only one dealing with customers checking out. Krogers gets some good sales but I like sales along with good customer interaction when needed. Sometimes I think that the Kroger leadership is messing with us, as if they're trying to see how horrendous the customer service can be while they continue to hold onto their position as a leading grocer in the city. Today, I had that thought again. This store is on the edge of the Vinings. They serve a high-end population that can go elsewhere, including to the Publix that's about 1 mile away. How could my experiences have possibly happened today? Earlier this afternoon, I called the store to ascertain when the Customer Service counter closes. I also had some questions about the Western Union services. The attitudinal woman who answered the phone complained about me "going on and on" with my questions. Then she hung up on me. I hid my identity behind *67 when I called back to speak with the store manager. The customer service rep put me on a long hold wherein no manager or other individual picked up the line. I called yet again. No one answered the phone in the Customer. Department. I finally got the manager-on-duty on the line by going through the Deli Department as an extension option. The manager said that he was going over to Customer Service immediately to see what was happening. But then when I got to the store a few hours later, I was back in horrendous-ville. The customer service rep l kept me waiting after she spoke with me initially. She attended to moving empty carts to another location, for instance. She finally said that I was the woman who asked all those questions on the phone earlier. Apparently the manager on duty from earlier today didn't have much impact. I finally had the current manager-on-duty stand right next to the attitudinal woman while my transaction was handled. This woman shouldnot be allowed to work in the Customer Service Department. Instead, she should only have permission to walk by it on the way to some place in the store where she has no interaction with customers!!!!! read more

They are constantly out of everything. I have tried to go on different days, but it doesn't matter. The staff is terrible and not friendly. Store has went severely downhill from it formerly being a nice store. Now when you go in there, there are empty shelves everywhere, pallets of product always blocking the aisle that has not been put up to the point you can can barely walk down an aisle, much less take a buggy down one. Store is also infested with rats and has been issued a stop-sale order by the GA Dept of Agriculture. Kroger and whomever owns this store needs to get it together and fire every member of purported "management" over this place, including district and regional managers who have let it go on so long and reach this point. read more

Constantly have expired items on their shelves. I bought a bag of fries. Got home and you could tell they had completely thawed and were refrozen, bought container of fruit and it was sour. Last straw was buying fruit bars and bit in to it and it tasted awful. Checked the expiration date and it was 7/23. I'm so done with them. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I normally go to the Kroger on S Cobb for curbside pick with no problems today I decide hey let me try the other Kroger it's closer to my home. I had an 8-9am pick-up time and got there 10 minutes after 8. There is no sign at the other Kroger's showing you where to park just 2 little cones and a paper sign you can't see unless right up on it. I have called several times and have been sitting in my car over 20 minutes then someone picked up and hung up on me. Then I call back the female who answered the phone had an attitude and proceeded to put me on hold. She picks the phone back up and tells me no one is here to pick my items and hangs up the phone. I call back and ask for the manager and was told the person didn't show up for work and it will take 7 business days for a refund. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Usually I shop at Kroger quite often, who can resist getting one dollar off a gallon? I certainly can't. However, as others do point out, this one lacks cleanliness in comparison to the majority of other Kroger's. I have to agree. This is strange, considering this location is right by West Vining's, which is a very upscale neighborhood. If you shop here at night, just use the self-checkout lanes, as they usually only have one register open. They do have organic items here, however, they are limited. I love this Kroger location it's in my neighborhood. Although it's a smaller store than the others, it serves my needs. Ultimately! I love coming to Kroger, they always have good sales going on. So I try to take advantage of those IF they have the items that I'm shopping for. I'm not exactly a food hoarder ........maybe a junkie at most. BUT! when they have certain things on sale that I never had before I tend to get a little excited. I try to be a little cautious about my spending habits especially when it comes down to food. But I can say Kroger sales will test my palate. read more

This Kroger is located right past 185 on Atlanta Road. Each time I have gone it has been clean. They even asked if I found everything and went to check for it. Unfortunately on a few times they were out of items I needed. I did find it at another Kroger but the person who does the ordering here needs to beef it up a bit plus it is holiday time! More food needed than normal times. Kroger has an app where you can use digital coupons for checkout also which may help you in your shopping endeavors. read more

There are three other Kroger stores near me and this one wins every single time. Located not too far off 285 and South Atlanta Rd, you can find this grocery store with no issues. Parking at peak times can be a bit of an issue but luckily there's a secret parking lot up on a hill which no one seems to know about. I've been here too many times to count and must say the customer service here is right at an 8 out of 10. Yes I'm that person that comes in with a full shopping list and often times I'm able to get every item I need from this one store. The produce and fruit at this location is fresh and reasonably priced. I've been to other Kroger stores where it seems they've left their fruits and veggies out a few days too long but they do a pretty good job here. I usually visit the deli for some good ol boars head turkey and the attendants I've come in contact usually fulfill my orders as asked. When it comes to items on the shelves, this location is rarely out of items that I am looking for and the pricing is very good as well. If they don't have an item I'm looking for, I've often been able to find an employee for help. The one thing that can be an issue at times is the checkout lines. Just never seems to be enough lines open but then I pray and magically someone will say "hey, I'm open". All in all, A+ from me. read more

This is actually a pretty decent Kroger that other Kroger stores in Atlanta could learn from. From the friendly service to the decent selection of items to the freshness of the produce and meats. I use to frequent this Kroger quite often when I lived over in the Smynings, but haven't been in quite a while since moving. The other day I had a dentist appointment right down the road and decided to drop into this Kroger on my way back home. This review is after multiple bad experiences. The employees are not friendly AT ALL - not helpful. I really had my last straw with this kroger, they only have one or maybe two lanes open. All the self check out lanes but the line is always long. My previous experience they had a wrong tag on something the was higher than the listed price. I told the lady and her response was it's just a dallor. I told her it was the principal so it should be honored. I'll sit that there. Today they had one lane open, the lady came to tell me I could not get more than one cleaning supply I was buying for my sons school, that part was fine but It's crazy how i can never get help, they don't greet you, but when something is against policy she can talk. The manager Angela is RUDE. She does not want to be there and her attitude is quite disgusting. I live close so it's been convenient, but my hopes is someone in corporate send secret shoppers, they are truly not living to the Kroger values. I work in corporate American and when something is not right I take it personal and make adjustments because feedback is a gift. This is a great Kroger and it's now my neighborhood one-hooray! Tons of parking (they have a garage if you need it) and new renovations. The inside is super nice and clean. This isn't the biggest one (they only have like 6 types of kombucha compared to the Ponce one that has like 36. Am I bougee now?) The staff are kind and the lines short. The place is clean and well stocked. Excellent wine and natural foods section. Great place to get all your shopping in. read more

This store makes shopping somewhere else a pleasure. Service is rude and unhelpful. Never have more than one regular register open yet limit self checkout to 15 items are less. Prices not correctly marked on the shelves. Two stars simply because if you go early in the morning it's bearable and prices are cheaper than there local competitors. read more

Not a fan of this location due to lack of customer service in the deli/bakery everyone there seems to have some sort of attitude and a mentality of it's not my job they have been short staffed for as long as I can remember and when they do actually have an employee that cares about the department then end up leaving due to lack of help which is a shame they had a lady there a few months back that was amazing she was always smiling and seemed like she knew what she was doing over their other employees. When ever I shop there, the deli"manager" is either absent or on her phone or off to the side chatting to other employees it's a joke something needs to be done about the deli management and get people in there that actually care I've seen so many good workers leave and that doesn't look good for the store. The store overall is great my only complaint is they lack more ethnic foods and produce it would be nice to find yuca either fresh or frozen but it just isn't stocked at this location. Store management overall is very attentive and I always see them working in the store rather then sit back and observe. If they can get the deli up and running like it should be then this would be a great store publix is opening soon 5 minutes away the deli needs to get it together before the competitor opens. Not my favorite kroger. Visually unappealing. The customer service is either helpful or nonexistent. I usually come at night, there are no cashiers to ring you up. Kroger meat selection is sketchy to me, I will only purchase meat from publix or high end krogers. It's a shame because you would think with all these $200k and up houses surrounding this kroger it wouldn't look like one you would find in the rough parts of Decatur. I only shop here for coffee, lunch items for school lunch, spices, and drinks. Beware of the random creeps that are up here during the weekend. The red box has a crappy selection. read more

This is a review for the pharmacy, the lady that works in the pharmacy always has a bad attitude. I've been twice now and every time I come in to the pharmacy there is only one pharmacist working, the first time I thought maybe she was just having a bad day because the corona crisis has just begun but now this is my second time and she still has the same nasty attitude. This is a very slow pharmacy and I was wondering why that is and now I think I know, each time I have come in to pick up my prescription the pharmacist has a nasty attitude. That's why there may be less customers patronizing this location. I will update this review with her name next time I go in to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription. read more

If you compare this Kroger to some of the other Kroger's around town, this one's probably one of the best. Those of you who live in Smyrna probably know the old Kroger on S. Cobb Dr (*shudder*). This is my go-to grocery store. I'm here at least once a week, probably more often than that. I think it's usually very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It has had its ups and downs. Recently, they've been in a bit of a slump. They tend to be out of a lot of my key staples (popsicles... who can live without those?), so I've been going to other stores. Last year they stopped carrying jalapenos for about 6 months, now they're constantly out of leeks. I like this Kroger, because most of the employees know me and they take all of my expired coupons without even raising an eyebrow. read more

Why Kroger? yeah I know you have been in one you have been in them all--- Yet at this location in the very back a little to the right-- there works a sandwich GOD!! Note that we all know: never go into a grocery store HUNGRY!!! Big mistake that turned out to be GREAT. I dash over to the deli and I am little skeptical because I normally only do Publix or deli pubs for a sub-- so here I stand at this short little menu and ask this nice guy to prepare me a turkey on wheat. He did it with such craft that I am thinking is he making me a sandwich or in a weird way showing me his "hands skills"-- either way he has me staring at him like he is the IRON CHEF of Atlanta Road, GOD of Sandwiches. All in all he made a nice sandwich-- I know its just a sandwich yet I hate when the bread is dry and the condiments are not equal to the layers-- he did an incredible job. Had I not been captivated by this "hand job" of his I would have caught his name on the tag. Now that I think about was I really just starving??? or did he really just put it DOWN!!!!! --- Hmmmmm I will have to return to see Magic Fingers to know for certain. read more

I don't usually do Yelp reviews, but I had to make an exception here. This Kroger location is literally the worst run grocery story I've ever been. Kroger should be embarrassed that this location is part of its brand. The employees that work here are rude and have no idea who to treat customers who shop here. The checkout lines are always understaffed, and the people that do decide to do their job to check customers out are never helpful in helping to bag groceries. I shop at this Kroger with my girlfriend for the prices. The only issue I really have is that she has epilepsy and though the constantly flickering fluorescent lights have actually caused her to have a seizure in the store, they have not been fixed by Kroger or management over the past two years though it has been brought to their attention. It's enough of a problem that she will avoid coming by herself, though she doesn't have this problem in virtually any other public space. read more

Went in for a couple of produce items for my elderly Mom. The line had one person leaving and the guy was leaned over the scanner on his phone with his light on as the prior customer leaving grabbed their bags and placed in their cart to depart. Quick check out with human -I thought. NO. I placed my 2 items on the belt. He continued to lean over butt in the air on his phone. I waited for acknowledgement -NONE. TOOK MY ITEMS TO U-Scan. When I left he was still on his phone. I asked him was he off or on break still in his phone....."I'm just relaxing". So why are you here? This Kroger is getting worse over time. I will travel further for service than deal with this. The management here knows the issues and does NOTHING and gets paid to do NOTHING. read more

This location is one of my favorites. I enjoy coming here because their entire staff is extremely professional and friendly. Any time that I needed help, I was always able to find a staff member or even a member of their management team that was willing and able to assist. Each time that I've come to this location, I've been greeted by a friendly and courteous safety officer that tells everyone to have a nice day. The other day while in the produce section, I was greeted by the members of their executive management team and received a $3.00 off coupon towards my purchase. I'm very excited to call this location my neighborhood store! Way to go Kroger! read more

WOW...what a shithole. This Kroger was suggested to me as a cheaper alternative to the Publix I usually shop at. What a HUGE mistake. The selection is so-so (ever heard of fruit...grapes, strawberries, etc.)??? I won't even go into the lack of red meat products The aisles are completely cluttered with displays, making it hard to maneuver around other shoppers...God forbid you are in a wheelchair...you're screwed...only room for one cart...and even then you'd be bumping up against a display. It's shocking the number of empty spots they have on shelves. They either need new buyers or they need some major stockers to get them shelves filled. It is a smaller store, but they could get rid of the two aisles cluttered with seasonal shit (bar-b-que crap, flower pots, etc.), and get more selection of grocery product. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Publix (excellent assortment), this Kroger is not worth the $20 bucks you'll save on your total bill. read more

We attempted to shop at this Kroger last night, the 3rd of December in the year 2017, and it smelled like a morgue in there. I barely made it into the fruit/veggie section before gagging, ditching my cart, and having to run outside. I don't know if some fish went bad, or dairy was spilt. I literally had to leave and go shop at Publix instead. I asked a worker there in the parking what "What died in there?" to which he replied, "Do it still smell like butt in there?". Yes, it did. I am afraid to shop there anytime soon as that stench has probably penetrated every item in that store. Organic meat, dairy and produce selection is on point. Also, can find great select of fruits and vegetables beyond the standard tomatoes and lettuce which is great if you eat clan and like some variety in your diet. The staff here is mostly very helpful with the acceptation of dismissive bad egg here or there. Living in West Midtown, this is the most convenient decent grocery that I can find. read more

This is the worst Kroger store I have been to. Never any cashiers to check me out, produce selection is limited and fruit is covered in fruit flies. Unfortunate too because this Kroger is so close to my house and child's school. I cannot continue to come back to this store. Poor quality and the prices aren't great.
