Let me tell you how this public location is NEVER out of stock. I work in smyrna and tend to stop here after work sometimes to grab a quick item or two and I'm never disappointed. Twice now have I stopped at this location after work to stock up on groceries before a winter storm and traditionally most grocery stores have empty shelves up and down the aisles, but not this store and I'm so grateful for that. The aisles are always clean, the floors are never dirty and the produce is always fresh. And lastly I have to talk about the tremendous service I received on this particular visit. I was asked by multiple employees if I was finding everything I needed throughout my shopping experience. But what stood out to me the most was when I was going to return my shopping cart, I was met by a young man who sprinted out to me to make sure I didn't have to travel a long way to return the cart, wow. One of the better Publix in the area. They stay stocked with groceries and produce. I wish they would have more local produce to support our local farmers another concern for those who indulge in their baked good section, they all have been mandated to use GMO ingredients. While I am not a fan of this option they still supply modearte options for food and overall healthy choices. Choose wisely, but that should be anywhere you go for food. First of all, kudos to management and staff at this location!! You never miss your well until your water runs dry. Lol. I moved to Austell and near the Floyd Rd. Publix. Going there lately let me know just how much a store can be so different depending on staff. This Smyrna location is always clean, fresh food and produce and just overall nice staff. The baggers asking do you want help to your car, the lines moving swiftly, the Deli food being good and the bread not hard! Once I walked out and forgot my 20 dollars in the self check by accident. This Publix is located at the big intersection of EW Connector and South Cobb Drive. While it is not the closest Publix to my house, it is always nice to visit when I over this way and in need of something, more than likely a Pub Sub if I am being honest. Parking can be a bit tight here. The lot is massive as its a shopping plaza, but the lanes and spots themselves can be tricky, especially when you have multiple cars going up and down the lanes. I have never not found a spot, but I have experienced a few close calls. One reason I enjoy this Publix over the one on Atlanta Road, which is closer to me, is the self check out. The self check is always staffed with a helpful associate and the lines keep moving so it is rarely a wait if you go that route. While I do consider myself a Kroger loyal due to the loyalty program and more competitive prices, I do find Publix's variety of fruits, veggies and fresh meats to be superior. So, I will grab a lot of my "middle aisle" items at Kroger and then swing through Publix for the other stuff. Additionally, Pub Subs are life. I have never had a bad sandwich here! You will either see me walking out with a chicken tender sub or a turkey sub...both with that lovely chipotle gouda, spicy chipotle mayo, lettuce and black olives. Well, I guess I know what I am having for lunch today after writing this review! Service is always on point at this location. Everyone I come in contact with from the sandwich counter to the registers are always helpful and friendly. At the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic I used Instacart for a few deliveries and 1 curbside pickup. Then I realized how Publix was overcharging me and switched to Kroger. When you order Publix groceries through Instacart, each item is more expensive than inside the store and you do not get sale prices. This is totally absurd. You are also charged a service fee. Kroger charges you regular item prices, gives sales prices and curbside pickup is free. Publix does not consistently follow Covid-19 precautions. I've been in the store 3 times since the pandemic began in March and each time I've seen employees not wearing masks. I spoke to one and she said she was leaving soon so she took her mask off. What part of contagious disease is confusing? Yesterday, I went to the store very early to avoid crowds. Unfortunately, there were at least 4 employees wearing their masks as chin straps. I saw management walking around the store. Why weren't they addressing this? I guess they don't care. read more

Probably the most missed managed Publix in the chain of stores. I've been many in the ATLANTA area including to the one in Midtown I've been to the new one on Atlanta road and this has not changed from 3 years ago when this was only one in this SMYRNA area. I came for milk 2% two times to this store different times and they're always sold out! There had never been a manager to request this from unless it was the one talking sports to the policeman for 15 minutes in the store ? He looked at me standing there while I was waiting for someone to help me. But NEVER came to ask me if he could help me. Not coming back to this Publix. The parking lot setup isn't great, but once you're inside the store it's much better. The store is bright and clean. Compared to nearby Kroger stores, this place is so much nicer. There are always shopping carts available, and overall a good selection of fresh produce and stocked shelves. Of course a few items may be limited due to some supply chain issues, but that affects any supermarket these days. We typically order cold cuts ahead of time via the Publix app and they're always waiting for us by the time we get there. read more

Each Publix grocery store is different but overall I like the Publix deli, bakery, and fresh produce a lot. I like the fresh baked breads and the subs made with Boar's Head deli meat. The full-sized subs are substantial and are great for sharing or spread over two meals. And for dessert there's plenty to choose from like cookies, single slices of cake, or cupcakes baked in-house. read more

Not sure what to think about this Publix? First of all, I hate the parking lot here. Everything is like a maze trying to park here, and if you come here after everyone gets off work, forget being able to park here! Second, maybe its a busier Publix, but I find many times that the shelves are not stocked! I came today to get heavy cream for a recipe I was making and they were out of heavy cream!!!! How many people use heavy cream these days especially on a Monday?!?!? Or is it whoever does the ordering, lacks at their job?? I'll stick to going to the Publix in Mableton. I find that Publix much more relaxed and parking is a breeze and I can always find what I am looking for! read more

But when i do decide to come it's mainly for there fresh fruits and vegetables. There fruits are always sweet compared the other grocery stores. This is my go to Publix. It's not far away from my house like the Vinings Publix [1] and is nicer than the Mableton one, which is closer to my house. If I need to get some meat, I go to this Publix's butcher. They do a good job of accommodating what I need. For example, one time I wanted 2.5 lbs of pork rib roast. They only had 2.75 lbs of it so they actually cut that extra .25 lbs off. I wonder what they did with that .25 lbs of meat they cut off though. Also, Publix is the only grocery that would actually look in the back for stuff. Usually, what you see is what you get at grocery stores. There's rarely anything in the back. If they do go in the back to look, they do that to appease you. But it's different at Publix. I once asked if they had eggplant, and they seemed all out. He volunteered to go into the back and stayed for like 20 minutes and came back with a fresh box of eggplants. It did take him 20 minutes because he was probably looking hard for them, and I almost left. But I was impressed he took the time to look for it. I use the pharmacy here too. The main pharmacist recognizes me. I don't know if it's because I'm so attractive or because she recognizes all her customers. The parking space looks cramped, like Tom N. wrote in his review. But I never had problems finding parking, even during the busiest hours. Overall, it's a Publix. Just like the other Publixes, it's clean and people are friendly. I love coming here. We recently switched from shopping at Kroger to shopping here, since Kroger stopped carrying several of our staples (shame on you, Kroger, but that's for a separate review). The produce department is always well-stocked and everything is delicious. I love the butcher counter and the fish counter. They are extremely helpful. Their sandwich station must have the slowest staff I have ever seen. If I come here for a sandwich, I can guarantee on waiting at least 15 minutes for them to make what would appear to be a fairly simple sandwich. I try to avoid the sandwich counter. What I really appreciate is that the staff will go out of their way to find what you are looking for, even if they don't know where to look. You know they will do their best to try and locate it. You can also special-order items, which I like. Lately, they've been instituting a policy where the baggers take your groceries out to your car. While I'm sure some people love the idea, I would prefer to take my own groceries and some of the baggers become really pushy and insist on taking your groceries (I'm assuming for a tip?). Either way, I prefer this Publix over several others I've been to and would highly recommend coming here. read more

While shopping here I figured I would get one of their subs. Went to the deli and asked the lady behind the counter that I wanted a chicken sub and she informed me that they were out of chicken but they were making it and it will take 5 minutes. I said it was ok and I would shop first then come Back to place my order. After about 30 minutes in the store I went back for my sub and she told me that they hadn't make the chicken !!! I have been to get a sandwich more than once and anybody who makes the sandwich has an attitude. The never have any bread after 9PM and they close at 10PM. Today I went in there and a guy asked how he can help me then said oh I can't help you we don't have any bread. Rude as hell. Secondly why can't y'all use the bread you make and sale since you didn't prepare enough. If you NOT going to have bread after 9PM close then not 10PM. Also if you don't like your job, quit. I like this Publix location. It's very clean, the employees are pretty helpful and the best thing about any Publix of course are the "buy one get one free" deals. However, the sandwich makers (who I see a lot because NOTHING beats a Publix sub) are not the friendliest, you kinda feel like you're interrupting their conversation when you place your sub order, HA! Anyway, I switched from Publix to Kroger a while ago because even though Kroger isn't as polished, I do think their prices overall are more reasonable--even with Publix's "buy one, get one" deal. Still, Publix is a great place to stop every once in a while for a sub and for a few good deals. read more

In general I am very fond of Publix. This particular location is near my work so it's my lunchtime "I'll pick up somethings" Publix. Parking can be tight during peak times. My single compliant is with the Deli/Sandwich Department. I have on many occasions found it extremely painful to get a sandwich made or purchase warm food items from this location's Deli Department in a timely manner. The process is woefully slow and the staff is lackluster. Trust me when I say that this is an anomaly as I have never had this type of reoccurring experience at any other location. Went for a sub. No one was there to take our order. When the guy showed up he wasn't happy. The cheese looked old when we asked for provolone he said only white cheese and just gave her American white without asking. We just left the store without purchasing anything. This is not my regular Publix, but I do go on occasion depending on errands, etc. Personally, I like a smaller store. But, this Publix is always clean, I like that the veggies are close by and not way in the back of the store. Anyhow, last night I picked up some dinner items, other staples and checked out, but my CC would not scan. So, they took me to the customer service desk to complete checking me out. All was good, until... I came home, starving and discovered many of my items, dinner items, were not in the bags. I looked at the receipt and discovered that half the items I'd placed on the belt were never rung-up. Oh, the blood sugar was shouting. I was hungry but I did not want to get back in the car and drive back to Publix. I gave them a call and explained what happened. The manager said he would call back. He did within 10 minutes and said he'd reviewed a video of my checkout (Big Brother at its best). Turns out, the cashier became distracted because my CC was not scanning and only checked out half my food. Within 15 minutes of telling them my address I had my other half of groceries delivered to my door. I offered to write a check, but they refused and apologized. Wow. Tonight, I am so grateful to have come to this Publix. I am an airline worker just now getting home very late from a 4-day trip. I needed to get groceries for my next trip even tho it was so late. I'm very dumb, so as soon as I got out of the car I locked my keys, wallet, and phone in it. When I went inside to ask for help, John (I'm assuming the manager on duty tonight) immediately came to help. John and two other men from the parking lot spent a good 25 minutes getting my car unlocked for me. I was so incredibly thankful, but had no cash to offer. I apologized multiple times, but John told me not to be sorry. After getting my groceries even the two women that checked me out were so kind (unfortunately I didn't get their names). Either way I am so impressed and thankful for the incredible energy in everyone here. I completely understand the feeling of just wanting to go home, but everyone involved tonight was so eager to help. I never like this Publix Some of the managers are rude, like they're too good to relate to customers. Some of the customer service rep is also very rude. I have to smile how a piece of position gets to some ppl's head. The cashiers & the rest of the staffs are more polite than some of the high ass managers. In my opinion if you don't like to relate to customers with a polite attitude don't sign up for the job. I think I should take my business elsewhere. Not like it's cheap as Costco or Walmart.
