We went for the Gravy covered Breakfast burrito, they only serve it on Sunday during Brunch so we made a special trip back and let me tell you, it was very much worth it!! Giant burrito stuffed with cheese and all the breakfast favorites then it's grilled so the cheese is gooey and melty. The outside is then grilled so the burrito shell gets the perfect crispy texture and cover it with sausage gravy. Honestly the best breakfast burrito either of us has ever tried!! We also tried the bacon marmalade pizza, it was good but I found myself wishing I'd asked them to hold the butter garlic sauce and just spread a bit of olive oil on, then cheese, then put the dollops of marmalade on top once it comes out of the oven. It would bring out the true flavor of the bacon marmalade, which is supposed to be the star of the pizza. The way they make it, the marmalade melts and gets lost between the butter and cheese. Went in for lunch on the 26 of December, very cool building with I think 3 separate areas. Was approached by no fewer than 3 people, waiter and a few others, ( one I believed to be a Manager) all super nice and made the experience awesome. I had a blond ale which was excellent, burger as well- asked for medium rare, and came out that way- Very good! Grandkids had some nuggets and fries which they enjoyed( fries here are very good!) I had been in town for a work trip and noticed that this place was getting lots of great reviews. One of the only "downfalls" is that it is inside of a bar. Now the location I sat at was nice, a little loud but I can't be upset since it was technically a bar setting. The service was good, the waitress helped me as much as they can with the menu and sought after foods. The food came out quick after I ordered and it wasn't too bad, the patty melt panini wasn't too bad, the gravy on the side made it much better. The Mac n cheese was a little dry but nothing to mark the establishment for 4 stars for. The beeer batter ice cream with apple crisps was excellent, you can taste every flavor of the beer in the ice cream and it all meshed well with the warm apple dessert. Really REALLY good beers in a cool atmosphere in a hot day brought us to Kootz Brewing Company - and we will DEFINITELY be back! We did not have food, but what we saw coming out to other tables looked delicious. We had just come in for a break from the heat and a place to kill some time before heading back to Dallas. We were greeted warmly and our wait read was very professional and knowledgeable about the various types and styles of beers. I had the prickly pear special brew, and it was everything you want on a hot summer day: cool, crisp, refreshing and delicious! My husband had the brown ale, which he e joyed so much he bought a 6-pack to go. Krootz is a decent place! Nothing over the top, but it's pretty consistent. The ambiance is mediocre as there's not really any decor or anything to invite you. The kitchen is the size of a closet so the wait tike for food is pretty long. However most of the food is very food and their beer selection has something for everyone. The cons listed aren't that big of a deal, but the biggest issue is the cost. You can easily spend $30+ per person especially with just one beer and food. Went there today with a large group (11). They knew the day before that we were coming. When we arrived at noon there were only 3 other customers. We were seated and had orders in by 12:15...good start. At 1:10 we had only seen the waiter once, and still had not received appetizers or any meals. I spoke plainly to the waiter that an hour wait was ridiculous. "....they're making it now"... I asked him to check. Right away my BLT came out and one salad. Over the next 10+ minutes the rest of the food came out. Speaking only for myself... BLT with Texas toast was more aptly name BLT with Texas crouton....over toasted to the point of cardboard. Cutting (sawing) the sandwich in two didn't help at all..basically inedible. Then the appetizer 1/2 order of onion rings showed up as "left over".... cold and greasy. I do know that that most plates had more than half the food left. I sent everything back...they said they would remake it..."No, it took an hour to get this version I don't have time for round 2". Spoke with the manager and told him what was wrong and that I just wanted the bill. One might think he would have knocked the price down for a meal that had one bite and was sent back..but then you might also be wrong.... $28 for the mess. Won't be back read more
