This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant here in Abilene and my go to restaurant. There is a wait after you order, but once you receive your food it's worth every minute. They do not take back your food if it is too hot for your liking so choose carefully. The staff is very friendly even on a busy day unlike other restaurants. The best Thai I have had in a very long time! Driving through Abilene and stopped here for dinner with my boyfriend. The Tom Yum soup is delicious and so was the spicy beef salad. The Thai Basil beef is to die for. It's a hole in the wall with humble decor, but the staff is wonderful and the food is spectacular. They have one wok so the food comes out a little bit slow, but it is well worth it! We loved it!! read more

I am so happy that Lak is running this new place! She used to be a server at the previous Bangkok Thai restaurant that shut down a while ago. I had been missing that "Bangkok Thai" taste and when I saw that she was running this restaurant, my hope that good Thai food had come back to Abilene was restored! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The dining area is small but the service was wonderful and friendly. They make the food how you like it and are not shy to ask for constructive criticism. Lak even remembered how I used to order my usual dish back when I used to eat at Bangkok Thai! She is a wonderful lady and super friendly. I will be coming back for more very soon! The people are nice, but the place is super small. Go when they aren't busy. Also the food took 20 minutes to come out, which was not a big deal, but might be a different issue for others. Wow so I lucked out stumbling onto this place while in Abilene. I couldn't believe I was having such delicious Thai food in the middle of Texas! The restaurant is tiny but both nights (yes I went two nights in a row) I was seated right away. I absolutely love good peanut sauce and I had to try it and was not disappointed! A lot of places are too heavy on the sweet coconut milk but Krua has it just right. Just enough spice to cut through the sweetness. I had no issues with the service. The server was very friendly and remembered me. You do have to wait a few minutes for your food but the food is cooked to order and comes out fresh and delicious! I was also pleased to see that they use good cuts of chicken, not the sometimes sketchy looking stuff you can get at lower level Asian restaurants. Small space but I was comfortable and felt like they must be economical and focus on the food and not making the place too fancy. Great food, great service! I ordered the Gang Dang Curry Chicken and it was savory and flavorful, and the chicken was the best. I ordered a 2 out of 4 on the spice scale and was warned that the chilies were hotter than usual. And yes, they were. The curry was great but it was a just a little more than pleasantly spicy for me. I also got the fried spring rolls which were also very good. They were just as fresh as you could want. Our waiter was very personable and offered to help when we said it was our first time there. He was very warm and pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and plan on becoming a regular. The price is very reasonable. It's monetarily equivalent to getting cheap Chinese food, but the quality is so much better. There are not very many tables so the restaurant can only accommodate maybe 20 people at a time. Oh, and it was storming while we ate, and the owner told us we could park our cars under the garage port out back to protect from hail. That was super nice too! read more

My boyfriend and I love this place! Our favorite thing is the panang chicken curry. It is soooooo good! Creamy, rich, slightly coconuty, spicy(or to your liking), just so delicious! The portion is very decent along with a large side of white rice! Mix it together and it's heaven on a plate!
