This is one of the asian food restaurants that open late in the downtown area. We came here around 9:30pm and it's still pretty crowded. The service was pretty quick and friendly. Looking at their menu, they have a little bit of everything, the food were cooked homestyle, not very authentic Thai food, more like what a Chinese person would cook based on a Thai cookbook. Ordered through uber eats and I loved how they packaged everything! The curry was wrapped in plastic wrap so there was no spillage. You can tell they care about their food and customers experience! Krua Thai is a decent joint. I enjoy their Pad Thai with shrimp. I ask for hot spice level and it is a hit or miss. Sometimes hot sometimes no spice at all. Very bad experience, Server don't speak good English, She said that they don't serve food in platters and silverware after 6:00 Pm, when we asked for silverware to eat our Pad Thai we were told that there's no one to wash the silverware and they do not have dish soap, also at checkout I asked for a receipt, the server said they don't have receipts only the IPad, when the table next to us asked for a receipt she gave him one on a receipt tray. If I could give this place zero stars I would. One of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. The waitress "Fern" was the only person working. The food came out in takeout containers, and I had to get up and grab my own silverware. The food was disgusting, easily one of the worst meals of my life. Does anyone know why there is a Transformer statue right when you walk in to Krua Thai? I know there must be a story to this, and I'm dying to know what it is! We came here on a Friday night for a later dinner, around 8pm and we were one of 4 tables. The service was great and quick, and our appetizers and entrees came out super fast. We started with an order of egg rolls - they have 4 eggrolls and came out piping hot and fresh. I got the pad thai with fried tofu, and my partner got the thai basil fried rice. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to get - everything on the menu looked so good, and their menu had professional photos of each entree and we were drooling over all of it. Both of our meals were wonderful, and the portions here are huge. We had a full other serving each that we were able to take home and enjoy the next day. Went for a quick late lunch. I ended up being the only one in there late afternoon so got a chance to talk with the staff. Ended up choosing the Drunken Noodles because the staff recommended it since I like spicy food. I thought the ratio of noodles to vegetables and protein (I chose shrimp) was great! For me, the dish was a lot sweeter than I'm used to and the medium spice level wasn't very spicy. Would say Sriracha is more spicy. Outside of it being sweeter than my usual preference the noodles and veggies were cooked perfectly and left a nice contrast in texture with each bite. We got a variety of dishes to try a lot of different items on the menu. My critiques - I got the BBQ steak and the majority of pieces were extremely fatty and inedible. The pieces that were were rare, but they did not ask how I wanted the steak cooked. The chicken satay skewer was also barely cooked. The soup was flavorful, but did not have the vinegary kick from lime that Tom Kha typically has. The beef fried rice was absolutely delicious and was the best thing we tried.
