Service was good but the food was just...blah The green curry was very watery, like a soup. The meat and vegetables were tasteless. I am pretty sure it was thrown into the curry when ordered, and not cooked in curry sauce for awhile. The spring rolls tasted like something from the frozen section of Trader Joe's. The chicken in the paw see yu was dry and tasteless. None of the dishes had authentic Thai flavor and spices.

Not much is open on Sundays in SLC but we found Aranya to fill a Thai food craving and were successful in the endeavor! Our table got green curry, red curry and Kao Soi with no complaints for any of the dishes. Solid choice!

Vegan options! Excellent service, fresh food, what you would expect from a Thai Restaurant. Easy parking, and very close to downtown without being in the center with no parking.

Good location outside of downtown. Staff was nice and attentive. Food was great, got the pad see ew and Massaman Curry. Will be back!

Came in on a chill Sunday night. Even with things being slower, the service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the massaman curry and pad see ew--both good with a generous amount of protein. Will be back to try more!

Food: what we came for Kao soi with 2 tender chicken drumsticks. I added shrimp and they were jumbo. Awesome size. It has all the items picked onions, crispy noodles, the flavor was just not there. Not spicy or limey. It was fine but really not that special taste. Good portion tho. Cheese wontons my son inhaled and loved. Curry puffs so good crispy outside and sweet potato inside. Amazing spicy basil chicken entree this was the best dish. Crab fried rice also had a great amount of crab and nice flavor. Service: kind professional, courteous, cooks don't speak English. Ambience: clean, some booths have cracked leather, bathroom is dated. No outside seating, casual, not date night. Ample parking in old lot.

Solid 4 1/2 stars Located off of 800 S and right before you hit State Street. Aranya is inside of an old bones building that may look a bit sketchy from the outside, but transforms into a quaint and comfortable dining experience once you step through the front door. Parking is available on the street or in back of the building (4 spots). We were acknowledged and motioned to sit where we would like. The gentleman who helped us was patient and answered all our questions. We ordered Crispy Spring Rolls, Tom Yum Soup, Kao Soi, Crab Fried Rice, and Mango Sticky Rice. The food came out fairly quickly. The spring rolls were piping hot and fried perfectly. The accompanying sauce was delicious. I sampled the Tom Yum Soup which indeed had a sweet and sour flavor and my friend enjoyed it very much. My Kao Soi was a curry noodle dish with two drumsticks, a crispy noodle accompaniment, and topped with pickled cabbage, onion, and shallots. With a lime and cilantro garnish. The curry flavor in this dish bursts of freshness and depth. The chicken was fall off the bone tender. I was expecting the Crab Fried Rice to have imitation crab. To my delight there was real crab throughout the dish. Topped with an airy fried egg this dish was easily a favorite, but my Kao Soi will have me returning to try other items on the menu.

Best Thai in downtown SLC hands down. You can taste the difference in quality and freshness and I love that they don't skimp on quality. The first thing I noticed was that their rice was actually good rice, not the cheap grainy stuff you usually get at most Thai places. The rice was perfectly cooked, high quality grain which may seem like a small detail but it makes a huge difference. We for cream cheese wontons, the massyman and pad see ew, all of which were very well done, perfect spice level for medium, and incredibly flavorful. We also bought some of their house chili oil because it's a home made recipe and they sell it if you want it! My husband and I were both very satisfied and impressed and will certainly be coming back whenever we're downtown and in the mood for Thai.

I was in SLC for several days and wanted to try some local spots. This was a short walk from my hotel and I really enjoyed my meal. I got the drunken noodles with pork, which was delicious and large portion. Would definitely recommend.

I wanted to give this place a try, but I wasn't sure because the outside of the restaurant didn't look that pretty, and parking was tough to find. Once walking in, the place really looked pretty clean and nice. The food was actually delicious, the best Thai food, and great-sized portions. The sticky mango rice was the best!

    Cashew veggie with tofu...delicious!

It's unbelievable that I live in SLC and this was my first time in. Aranya is such an amazing little find. Super friendly staff, clean and sweet decor, and the food is exceptional! I ordered the cashew veggie entree with tofu, mild heat, it was cooked to perfection. So flavorful but not so spicy I couldn't eat it. I'll be back again very soon!

Tom and Aranya, the owners, have been married for 20 years! Aranya was born in Thailand, and brings the love of her national food to this restaurant. Aranya has been cooking and working in restaurants for quite a while, but didn't like how others did things. So Tom brought his business skills and Aranya brought her restaurant experience and they created their own restaurant about six months ago! It's sparkly clean and feels brand new in its recently renovated building near the intersection of State Street and 800 South. You can park on the street or in the Taco Time parking lot next door. The decor gives you no doubt of the amazing Thai experience you're about to have! The service is amazing. The owners and staff are very attentive, make sure you're loving what you ordered, are quick to answer questions, and to make suggestions based on your tastes. The Panang curry is wonderfully savory and full-flavored with beautifully prepared vegetables, your choice of meat if you choose, and wonderfully steamed jasmine rice! The Water Fall Steak (nua num tok) salad is fresh, bright, and served with fresh cucumber slices and traditional Thai sticky rice. A taste and texture delight! Whatever you do, don't miss the Mango Sticky Rice desert topped with coconut sauce and sesame seeds! It's warm, cool, fresh, juicy, chewy, tart, savory, sweet- wow! So many amazing entrées to try, I'll be back soon!

Amazing and authentic Thai Food! I come to Salt Lake City once a year for a soccer trip, and after visiting Aranya Thai last year, I knew I had to come back. Being from Seattle--where we have some of the best Thai food--I can confidently say that Aranya Thai holds its own! This time, I had the crab fried rice and pad khee mao, and both were absolutely delicious. The crab fried rice was packed with flavor and generous portions of crab, while the Pad Kee Mao had the great balance of flavor and freshness. Beyond the amazing food, the hospitality here is top-notch. The owner, Todd, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you're in Salt Lake City and love Thai food, this place is a must-visit!

My all time favorite Thai food place! Amazing hidden gem. Their papaya salad, massaman curry, pad thai, and drunken noodles are 10/10.

The restaurant is in a very nice area (however parking might be a bit hard to find), the inside was very clean with up to date interior. We were greeted by a young man at the counter who was extremely well mannered and courteous! Such a young gentleman! He took our order and answered any questions we had and was also very attentive during our meal. A lady (we assume is the owner and the mother of the fine young gentleman) came out and spoke with us for a little bit and we had a great conversation with her as well! Honestly the people here are so friendly, warm and inviting. I felt like we were talking to family. The food was so tasty and the owner even explained to us a little bit about the origin of the dishes! Highly recommend this family spot for Thai food! I am sure next time we're in Salt Lake City again we will be back!
