Not bad. Certainly an older facility. We stayed at the Altitude tower, A little newer, quieter and private with its own restaurant and bar and not much more. The restaurant in the evening is French food, it is certainly the best dining in the facility. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was beautiful. Very modern and spacious with a nice balcony. Main buffet restaurant is crowded with food line chow. The grill restaurant is very nice. The Asian restaurant was noisy with Christmas music blasting. Totally understaff bed and very disappointing. The altitude tower has a small deluxe French restaurant Beach is beautiful. Though not private because all beaches are open to the public. Some huts and lounge chairs available but you need to snag em early Main pool is noisy and crowded. Kids and drunk partiers. Private altitude tower pool is lovely and adults only Seems like good activities for kids available. Overall not bad. And a better price I'm sure than the more exclusive properties further south and in Riviera Maya. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Krystal Grand Cancun was so disappointing and misleading that I feel obligated to warn others. Before booking, I was assured this was a quality all-inclusive resort offering premium alcohol and an elevated experience. That could not have been further from the truth. Upon arrival, the property looked nothing like what was advertised. There was essentially one bar, and it was extremely underwhelming--no premium alcohol options at all. This alone was a huge red flag and not what was promised. Things only got worse from there. While asking about adult/VIP amenities (specifically the Altitude breakfast), a staff member followed us and told us we needed to pay $20 to make a reservation. This made no sense since we had already paid for an all-inclusive experience. It later became clear this was a manipulative tactic to lure us into a timeshare presentation. We were never properly informed--just misled and pressured. We booked an Altitude Oceanfront Corner Suite, expecting a premium oceanfront experience. Instead, the room had a clear view of the parking garage and city--this was, at best, a partial ocean view. When we complained, staff came up and continued to misrepresent the room, insisting it was oceanfront when it clearly was not. It felt dishonest and dismissive. To make matters worse, the room's air conditioning did not work. We were on a top floor with direct sun exposure, and the room was unbearably hot. Maintenance attempted to fix it, but it remained broken. At that point, after everything else we experienced, staying was not even an option. The food situation was equally disappointing. The buffet had extremely limited options--mostly just pizza and mussels. For an all-inclusive resort, this was unacceptable and far below expectations. Thankfully, Expedia was able to step in, witness part of what was happening, and relocate us to Hyatt Ziva Cancun, which was a completely different (and much better) experience. Overall, this stay felt like one continuous attempt to mislead and upsell. From false advertising to manipulative tactics and poor accommodations, nothing about this experience aligned with what was promised. I strongly recommend booking elsewhere if you want a genuine all-inclusive experience. This property is not what it claims to be. read more

Let me preface my review by saying I normally stay at high-quality resorts when visiting any part of Mexico. This is not my first time in Cancun, and let me say this might be the lowest quality hotel I've ever stayed at. We originally booked the main tower, which looked promising until we entered the room and saw rickety, broken-down, boring decoration and beds. Immediately, we knew we weren't staying in this room, so we requested a new room, and they said they were fully booked, but we could upgrade to the altitude tower. After spending what we did round-trip, we didn't want to spend another 1,000 dollars to get what we originally paid for, but we did anyway. Thank God we did, because the room was so much better. We were told that with this upgrade, we would have premium alcohol and access to the French restaurant, as well as access to the infinity pool with a day pass to a Bali bed. We went to the bar first to get a drink and saw Smirnoff, Absolut, and Stoli. What's so funny is this wasn't special to us. These liquors were at every bar in the resort. Later in our trip, we saw they had Jack Daniel's and Grey Goose, but you have to pay more for those. So that was the first scam. The second scam was the French restaurant. I had the salmon dish, and it quite literally tasted like it was cooked and smothered in popcorn butter. Literally disgusting. They also have breakfast in the morning, where the French restaurant is, and honestly its not bad at all. Probably my favorite meal every day. On the subject of food, the food here is gross. The buffet is literally disgusting, and honestly id rather starve. The Italian place "Risotto" was very, very mid. The apps were fine, but the filet was very tough. Habaci was GREAT!!!!!! Literally one of the only places I could actually eat. The grill was also pretty mid and only had 1 main course that we liked, which was the mixed meat plate. The only other place that I really liked was the taco place near the pool. It was so great, I recommend everything there. The Bali bed was nice for the day, but very dirty. Honestly, I don't have much to say about it cause its just a bed. The one complaint I have about the room is the AC. I don't know if the AC is weak or if the windows are that shitty, but you literally cannot leave your windows open in your room. If you even have a crack in your curtains, your room will go up 5 degrees. Other than that, the staff was great, and we made the best of this trip considering this resort is one big scam. First time here. I will definitely visit again. Just a heads ups! There's 2 parts to this hotel/resort. If you want more of a modern luxury stay then pick the "Altitude Tower" Rooms (that's what we had and it's beautiful!) SERVICE: 9/10 everyone was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of what was going on. Things can seem a little rush and fasted pace on your first day because alot is happening, but once you check into your room things slow down and relaxation begins. FOOD: 9/10 EVERYTHING (restaurant wise was delicious) the buffet style was OK (don't recommended but to each its own) The hibachi was OK the rice didn't really taste like real hibachi rice. ( everything else was good) AESTHETICS: The Altitude Tower side is soo beautiful! Clean, smells good, and bright. This is a party resort low key(only because the main pool is live from like 10am u til they close) its fun and entertaining though! The beach was clean and we had day beds our entire stay, so that was great also! There was light-medium seaweed in some areas bear the beach (we went June 20-24 just to give an idea) The weather was beautiful and the pools were deep cleaned nightly. OVERALL 9/10 for this resort. This place was massively oversold as a 5 Star hotel resort. It's barely a resort, more like a large hotel complex. The place is actually 30-40yrs old. It's stale and outdated. It's mostly full of Mexicans and families. Loads of screaming kids everywhere. Sorry to sound like a hater on this place but the restaurants and food were super average. I would not pay to come here. The room also smelt stale and was very plain. I started this review with 2 stars, but in 30 minutes, it's dropped to one.This is a beautiful property, but it is poorly run. The only thing going for it is great beach access. There were no towels in our room we've called for towels 4x since last night and still don't have towels. The bedding smells like mildew. We asked them to change it and they just remade the bed with the same bedding. Went to get pool towels when they opened at 9am. Somehow they never refilled from the day before and were completely out. Went to get Starbucks. They're out of everything. Literally, the choices are black coffee and vanilla. The photos make you think this is a great choice but beware that a lot of them are taken in the exclusive and more expensive Altitude tower where I can only assume the good reviews come from. We were not impressed with the lobby that when it rained was covered in towels and caution cones in an attempt to keep guests from slipping on the water that leaked from the roof, windows and sliding doors. The air conditioning couldn't keep up with humidity, causing mold to grow on walls and personal items. Clothes stored in drawers and closet stayed constantly damp. The balcony doors didn't seal, permitting rain to invade room and soak anything on the floor. They rattled loudly and whistled. Music playing from a hotel down the beach until 2AM repeatedly woke us up. Two of the four elevators were out of service our entire stay. Other recent reviews seem to indicate they have been out of service for quite some time. The other two elevators worked sporadically. The wait time was often 10 minutes. There is no ventilation in any of the elevators. The floor in one elevator was cracked and visibly sagged when stepped on. That same elevator dropped 8 ft and the emergency communication system didn't work. Passengers had to call another guest to get help. Management's solution was to permit us to use their only service elevator that was worn and filthy with a guaranteed view of moldy discarded furniture and other items stored in a room next to it that had no door. The second time we complained, we were offered to upgrade to the Altitude tower for a "discounted" fee. On multiple days two lounge chairs in the pool had some green chunky substance on them. Management never responded to our concerns about the substance. There is no "adults only" pool. The entire beach in front of the hotel had a 15-foot swath of putrid rotting trash filled seaweed that had to be traversed to reach the water. All other hotels down the beach enjoyed clean beaches. Coffee and water service in the buffet restaurant was basically non-existent. By the end of our stay, we learned to bring bottled water from our rooms and to forego coffee. Top shelf spirits that were advertised via the web and restaurant menus were not available. Reservations were required for any restaurant other than the buffet. They could only be made via a glitchy app, and they were only accepted at or after 9AM on the day you wanted. Altitude guest members had first dibs so by 10AM sometimes the only option was the buffet. Addressing any of these issues required standing at the check in desk behind incoming and outgoing guests only to be referred to the concierge who was often unavailable. The service at the restaurants was top notch, as was the food. Servers at the beach and pool bars were very attentive making sure guests never wanted for another drink. The activities staff were inclusive and fun but the options for entertainment were basically nonexistent at night. If you want to spend your vacation breathing moldy air, having your personal items mold, waiting for unsafe elevators and walking through rotting seaweed to get to the water you might find this a great choice. If that's not appealing, book elsewhere. read more

This review is for the Altitude tower of the resort. The whole resort is gorgeous. The entrance has a beautiful atrium with a center hotel bar. Multiple restaurants span the resort. Note: If you want to eat at the Mexican restaurant make a reservation a day before. Also the Asian restaurant was not open. Outside the resort are multiple levels with multiple pools. One of the pools is an infinity adult only pool and another has a swim up bar. Chairs and grass umbrellas on the beach are reserved for Krystal guests. Day beds are an upcharge. The beach waitstaff will bring you food and drinks and it is included in all inclusive. My room in the Altitude was stunning. It was all modern and spacious. It had a mini bar (included in all inclusive), coffee maker, safe, furnished balcony, table and chairs, and huge bathroom with a shower that could fit a half dozen people. Incredibly clean, spacious, & the perfect view. We had: -The Vegan Burger with a side salad. Deliciously fresh, so worth it! The menu at the time notates vegan options. The waiter very nicely shared that they can also make things vegan, including pasta & pizza. That was very helpful. COVID NOTES ***CANCUN & area was phenomenally incredible as for Covid. We were super impressed all around on how business' provided Covid safety protocols, and masks were worn indoors and outdoors by locals!*** -Hand Sanitizer given at the door -Indoor/Outdoor dining was available. -The order was effortless, quick, & accurate. -Excellent customer service, masks were required, staff wore masks and gloves. -No issues at all. We had a nice room with beautiful full view but the last night there was a wedding on the beach with really LOUD music until 2:30am! Back to the hotel, it had four elevators but only two worked the whole time we were there. what an inconvenience. The beach was beautiful, great location. No entertainment on the beach however. We usually got huts or umbrellas to sit under.... had to get up early to achieve this, which is not uncommon. Pool was gorgeous . The buffet was excellent but it was impossible to make reservations for any of the restaurants and our last night, there were only two open. You had to go early and wait in line. If you're looking for an amazing customer service and to feel pampered like royalty, this is not the place. It's definitely not a 4/5 star hotel. It has all the basic necessities you will need and good food. PROS: - Oceanview is amazing - really close to everything: shopping, coco bongo, clubs, OXXO across the street (Mexico's version of 7-11) - Personally loved the buffets more than the restaurants - Staffs were helpful CONS: - not much entertainment in the resort itself - Altitude guests (sister hotel on same resort) were the only people to use the infinity pools and cabanas - hotel itself is a bit dated I was pretty worried after reading the terrible reviews about Vacation Express and this hotel but the trip went really smooth. The hotel was definitely not as bad as the reviews show. It's circular, open concept styled hotel, which means the lobby area had no AC. The only air conditioned area is your room and restaurants. Check in and out were fast and easy. They actually gave us another room on the second day there because they needed to do some work on the 2nd floor and might need to turn off the water so they gave us a similar room on the 10th floor. The room we first got was a bit dated. The tv had no HDMI or USB ports. The bathroom was a tub shower. The 10th floor room felt a bit more modern and new. It was cleaner and brighter. The bathroom was a standing shower which felt more clean. We didn't have any toilet issues or any issues really while we were there. They gave you two free waters. And there's a mini fridge stocked with soda, beer, and water. There's an iron and ironing board in the room. Blow-dryer included. If you get all-inclusive which I recommend, you pretty much don't have to worry about anything except excursions and tips. If you order room service, there's a charge about $5 per order. I loved the buffet. For dinner, The tacos were delicious. It's different buffet meals every day I think but it's all similar. There's always 1 soup, different breads, couple of meat dishes, variety of fruits, and etc. Breakfast was more on the light side, there's always a line for the omelette. We booked excursions with our rep from Vacation Express which was also known as Sunwing or Nexus Tours. They provided transportation from and to the airport and from and to excursions. They were at the hotel on certain days at certain times on the lower level of the hotel. One floor below the front desk/lobby. Sort of in the hole in the wall with two desks. I think for our first trip, the hotel was everything we needed. If you're looking for an amazing customer service and to feel pampered like royalty, this is not the place. Sadly would not recommend if ur taking ur family ... Our family is two adults and a 2 year old. -Check in-took forever 20 min or more ... they need a better system. -Drinks-nothing special that the other resorts can't offer -Food - only the breakfast buffet was worth it. Beef was nasty.... Sadly no real steak -The restaurant the grill- food came out burnt ....it took 1.5 hrs to feed us -Be aware if u need a child high chair it takes them around 10-15 min to find one -Front desk- not knowledgeable they just take ur money or they will lie to u. Our other family members had a noisy neighbor, the front desk told them that neighbor left ... it was a lie ... they had to move rooms at 10 pm at night ... (according to them they don't allow load music at night ... but they take for ever to solve the problem ) -Pool service -only 3 people to help around 30 or more people ... so it took several minutes to get drinks (this was during their low season) they will also bring food to you. -Room- the only thing new I think it was the tub. Bed was hard. Sofa was extremely old. - service at the restaurants were okay. -Desserts- nothing I was amazed -It gets an extra star due to the location. The beach was the only nice thing -It states that all inclusive u can also get room service but guess what is not they charge u a delivery fee ... of 100 pesos ... how is this all inclusive? FYI- Our child had an accident aka reflux on the bed and they charge u $70 for the damage. GYM - it was closed because that's where they take people to get COVID tested .....why not somewhere else... I reserved a deluxe king room and was given a standard room with 2 full sized beds. When I complained I was told they would give me an upgrade the next day, but all they did was move me to what I had reserved. The hotel elevators did not work consistently so there was a long wait for them and once inside the elevator it was suffocating how hot it was. The hotel and room had a very musty smell, a combination of a wet mop and the AC needing a good cleaning. There are 3 restaurants for dinner service, but due to "low season" they only open up one each evening. They tell you to make a dinner reservation but when you go to book it, there are no reservations. I show up each night and ask for a table, the first night I waited over an hour and they said they were really busy and didn't know when I could get a table, I gave up and went to the taco bar which had no wait. The 2nd night I went in and asked for a table and was told the only available time was for 1.5 hours later. I showed up 5 minutes early and was promptly seated. I waited 20 minutes and no one came to take a drink order, I called the supervisor over and she said I'll get your waiter, but it took him an additional 10 minutes to come ask what I wanted to drink. The dinner was tepenyaki (pre-fixed) meal servings, when I got on the waitlist I specifically asked if they had non seafood offerings and was told yes. This was not the case, they only had a soup with a fish base and because the other restaurant was not open they had no alternative. All in all, this was a horrible experience, not worth the all inclusive cost, and most of the people who worked there were quite rude. I did get exceptional service at the taco bar, those workers were moving double speed to make up for the restaurant next door moving so slow. Check this out, i got a room for me and my boo for the night before we head home to the states. I had two friends come over for a quick hang out before we head out to dinner. The security guy had me go to the front desk as we were heading to the elevator. The receptionist there, with haste and without any consideration advised there will be a $95 fee to have each person to come up, even if it were five minutes. Was very offsetting that she made it sound as if we were already told, which we weren't cuz we would of flipped the place off and dissed before even considering to still stay here. She said this is a private property and have the right the do this. Fuuuuuu** this place. Thankfully i only have to sleep here one night until i head out of this money trap of a place called Cancun. Now i know to go to Vegas for a good time and is more cost effective and easier to get around. The taxis are a bunch of scammers too... charging outrageous prices for a couple miles. read more

Hotel staff had 0 accommodations for us. i actually bought a fan on uber eats but when it was essembled by maintenance, it did not work. this is when i was extremely upset as i realized i couldn't sleep this night due to the heat. I came here for a brief getaway, it was my first time in Cancun. Should I return to Cancun in the future I won't stay at this resort again as there are many more options in the area. My biggest issue with the place is the air conditioner (AC) or lack thereof. If you look a previous reviews by others you will see this is a pervasive, chronic issue at this resort. My room never got cooler than 76F no matter how low I set the thermostat. It's also humid in the resort so it's impossible for anything to dry in your room. There are also no ceiling fans in the rooms. I sleep really hot and at home I set the AC low with the fan on but while I slept here I woke up every morning sweaty as if I were experiencing menopause. There are also only 2 elevators so you have to wait a long time for one to arrive to your floor. On one of the days only 1 was working! Not a good thing in a large resort. The alcoholic drinks were weak but they were free so eh. The dinners at Restaurant O were meh. The food didn't have much taste. The breakfast buffet was much better so I recommend sticking up calories with that. There was a ton of seaweed outside the resort and it smelled but that's not the resort's fault. There are many things that aren't included in the "all inclusive" package so buyer beware. The wait staff at the resort were nice. That was pretty much the only redeeming quality. Overall, there are much better options nearby and I would have been happier to spend a little more extra money for functioning AC! read more

I dont know how to feel, im torn. The staff is wonderful & everyone is very friendly...my review will be based on Covid & maybe thats why everything was how it was. Everything was closed or limited hours, we went with all inclusive yet so much was off limits. The infinity pool(over looking the beach) is for Altitude guest only(suites inside of the resort...what that means is that the only other pool for adults is the one with the bar & it is NOT adult only. Drinks arent poured until 11AM and stop at 6, WTF? The lounge still serves drinks at that time however you cant be wet when going on because its a "lounge". The lobby bar CLOSED, never opened while we were there that week, leaving us to walk to the OXXO to buy our beers & own coolers. The pool with the bar had a wonderful guy, ALEJO...if you are lucky to have him as your server please tip him well, he was our server for 3 days & he never let our cup go dry or our stomachs empty...constantly asking if we wanted a refill or food..awesome customer service! At the end of the day we probably wont come back to this resort, this is more for families maybe, not so much for people who wash their breakfast down with a few bloody marys. read more

Not sure where to begin. The people are polite and meant well but the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. Drinks and food were subpar . The bed was awful- a 5 inch foam on a hard wooden board - no lamps in the room ,no coffee maker, no robe , no toiletries as the website said. The food was mediocre at best with choices of Asian food, steakhouse and Italian. Not Mexican. The online pictures are not accurate . The bathrooms had rust and didn't drain well. I was there for 3 days and my hot water in the shower went out after day 2. And don't let me start on the rooms. We decided to not go with all inclusive because we have not had good food in the past and thank god we didn't spend the money! The burger we bought on site was green and tasted like plastic. The drinks were disgusting and so strong with sugar I couldn't finish it. Thank god I didn't have to eat here!! We only stayed for one night and I could wait to leave. Top it off. I stayed at the Krystal Grand between July 12-16. This time of year Cancun is extremely humid and hot. I was hoping to escape the heat and humidity once I got there but had no such luck. The lobby is just as hot as the outdoors, therefore I spent very little time at the bars located in the lobby. My room was okay. I was not impressed. It was very basic and the fixtures in the bathroom and vanity area were rusted and old. The beds were a bit too hard, the ceiling in the shower looked like it would fall in if the people above us stomped too hard, the toilet wouldn't flush twice in a row & when it did flush it struggled to do so. The Sheetrock on the wall was cracked. I was in room 816 if you need to verify. I will say that the view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking! It was so amazing we didn't want to chance switching rooms. We were there to attend events so we didn't spend a significant time in the room anyway. The food at the buffet in the lobby was good, but the staff was not attentive. We ate there for breakfast each day (it was all inclusive) and every single day we had to hunt someone down just to get coffee. The coffee tasted great! We also ate at the Italian restaurant RISOTTO and the food was not good. The risotto was salty, the pasta was undercooked, and the server was impatient. The food at the Grill was okay at best but the server took way too long to get our order. The infinity pool is very small and leaves a lot to be desired. The regular pool area had a swim up bar and is a better option. The beach itself was very clean and AMAZING but there were too many ppl selling souvenirs and it seemed as if we were being approached by people every 10-15 minutes. It was a bit annoying after a while. All in all I had an okay stay but will not return to this hotel. I had friends that stayed in the Altitude Tower and they said the rooms there were better and the lobby wasn't sweltering hot. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of a bunch of clubs and shopping areas so that was very convenient. read more

Beautiful week spent in Cancun unfortunately not in the hotel. Thankfully the hotel is beach side so we spent most of the day at a friends hotel and on the beach because ours was kind of bad. I make the most out of things that are offered and let me tell you this place has a lot to offer for a huge price for every little thing. The worst part was the toilet and the vultures of staff waiting for you to walk in to try and sell you stuff it's unpleasant. Upon arrival we waited 30 minutes for our keys because they have this cheesy introduction of the hotel after a 5 hour flight I just want to unwind and freshen up but no I had to carry my luggage around the hotel for 30 minutes before check in. They also mark you with a bracelet so that every vendor sees it they can try to sell you something it's great! And if you want people to harass you just show your bracelet so they know you're a tourist. They charge an additional upgrade to not have the bracelet on? Like wtf either pay literally twice the amount to not wear the bracelet or leave it on and let people bother you ever few minutes knowing your a tourist. Even worse was they claim to be HIGH END but put water bottles filled with sand in the back of the toilets so it's less water per flush but the toilets barely work we had to fill the tank with water every use it's disgusting. read more

Krystal Grand overall a nice experience. The check-in and check-out process are long. The Lobby does not have A/C. The Grille restaurant has shrimp tacos for lunch and offers a secret flank steak and grilled shrimp for meat eaters. Juan is the best waiter at this location. Jose is the bartender at the swim up bar. Service can be slow. I noticed That after I gave Jose a few bucks tip his service improved drastically. This is Mexico so most things take longer than we were used to back in Ohio, Usa. The beach is one of the best in the world. Sugar white sand and deep turquoise clear waters. There were always huts available with waiters dropping by to take your drink or food order. We enjoyed the Saratoga chips and ice cold Corona with lime. The beef flank steak quesadilla was very good also. The rooms were large compared to other resorts I have stayed at. The toilet always required 4 flushes. The shower seems to be high flow compared to the USA. If you ask me they need to have high flow toilets and low flow showers. read more

Don't stay here! I only stayed here for 1 night and was looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay. Wow, I sure did get what I paid for at $164 (w/tax) for 1 night. I didn't opt for the inclusive package. There is no way I would ever stay here again. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is only for people on a serious budget. Lets see where should I start. No mask? No problem, you can get one at the coffee shop. Walk over to the coffee shop and she asks for $6. I dont mind getting taxed ....but geez Food was horrible. The pool was so cold Not the most expensive place near alll the hot spots but probably doesn't matter if you book out with enough time. This property won't be a Hyatt for much longer since it will be rebranded as a Krystal after April 30th. The hotel is located near the end of the hotel zone and is walking distance to several bars, restaurants and nightclubs like Coco Bongo, Senor Frogs, and Hard Rock Cafe. The hotel was quiet overall during our stay, which was nice and relaxing. There are a handful of restaurants including a Beach Bar and Grill just off the sand and The Grill which overlooks the pool, both have good food at decent pricing for a resort and great service. The Beach Bar was awesome, you go up and order your food and drinks and they will deliver it to your chair when it's ready. The rooms were nice and more spacious than I expected with simple tile flooring and a balcony that overlooks the beach (for most rooms, unless you're on the street side). They provide 2 free bottles of water each day, but also have a minibar and room service available. Housekeeping service is hit or miss each day. On the 1st day they took our dirty towels but didn't replenish them nor did they provide more water bottles or toiletries. The subsequent days there was some improvement and they weren't as forgetful. The pool area is huge, complete with 3 pools - 1 on the beach level and 2 on the lower level. The main pool in the center has a swim up bar, volleyball net and tile lounge chairs in the shallow end. When you check in you'll receive a towel card for each registered guest which you can trade for a towel when going to the beach or pool. When you're done with the towel simply return it to get your towel card back. This wasn't as much of a hassle as I had imagined but we were afraid to lose our cards because there is a $25 charge for each lost card. I think they have this policy so people don't leave their towels on the public beach. Once you walk past the pool area, you'll be on the beach, with beautiful white sand and light blue water! There are chairs and straw umbrellas available for hotel guests despite it being a public beach. There are also daybeds but I did not use those. Well it just wasn't for me and my family. But it might just work for you if you're into the hotel Zone within walking distance of most shopping & everything else. Enjoy going through the lobby hearing a full a press sales pitch about your room, some other resort, dolphin show, etc etc. It was uncomfortable to be in the lobby. Sorry I know it's they're but it's freaking annoying. "cara de puerco" was a common expression of must of the lobby personal. No hot water for 2 out of 3 days was added feature I didn't pay for. The sargassum providing a constant flavorful sulfur smell in the room. The beach area sand was full of ripped up plastic bottles & broken beer bottles. Who knows if it's the hotel or the city of Cancun Responsibility to clean up the beach keep it somewhat safe. maybe this place will get better once it's all inclusive but I bet it won't. Good luck! Where to begin? I stayed at the Krystal Grand in the Altitude tower in August of 2023 and had a fantastic experience. Fast forward to August 2024. TERRIBLE!!! Both trips were booked through the same travel company for an all inclusive experience. Upon our arrival were informed that the Altitude tower was closed due to AC issues and were offered a room in the regular hotel. Folks...this was like going from a 4 star Hilton with ocean view to a Motel 6 with paper thin walls. 2 elevators of 4 not working (has been this way for a looonnnngg time), only 2 restaurants open. To the hotels credit, they tried to make us happy by offering some other perks, but if you've ever stayed at the Altitude tower in good times, NOTHING they offered would make it better. After looking around online, it seems that the problems were known well in advance of our arrival and we were not alerted by the hotel OR our travel service. read more

The location is great and the beach is beautiful! But the service is terrible. The people working in the buffet are rude and it is obvious that they hate their job. A few people who work here were kind and welcoming. The elevator doesn't work. The hallways and rooms are humid. read more

For starters, the location was nice. Tip of Cancun, no one bugs you up there! Beaches were nice & quiet. Other than that it was an average experience. Check in took a while, my room wasn't fully clean prior to my arrival (didn't take a photo of the pillows and the balloon animal under our bed), our sink leaked, everywhere had a wait time for food (once inside dining areas). At check-in they are suppose to give you welcome coupons & something else, which I was not given until the last day. LOL I will admit, I know it's cause we just got out of a pandemic, so coming to Cancun with expectations of everything fast pasted & my needs being taken care of was not entirely right of me, but there's still a median. Masks were told to be worn by everyone indoors which was awesome! Not everyone followed it but we appreciate the protocols. The food was ok from the restaurants they provide. Disclaimer- you must make dinner reservations at 0700 for that night!!!! They fill up fast and if you don't, you have to go and wait for about 20-40 minutes to eat. The drinks were made pretty well in the lounge on the main floor though it was only one person working, he managed by himself. I would admit, not having to pay for every drink was nice, but I would suggested maybe trying to eat off the resort sometimes. No authentic Mexican food at this resort which was a bummer. read more

I don't know where to start, but i belive the most important thing to mention is the scam they try to make you victim of the moment you walk into the hotel. 1.-There is poeple inside to greet you the moment you enter the hotel and at first you feel appreciated, as soon as you check in the person that greets you at the door will offer you a free tour in exchange for 90 minutes of your time during a free VIP breakfast to allowed them to offer you a Membership, the 90 min turned into 3 hrs or more, that messed up our plans for the day. Once you say no to the first nice guy he brings a second more agresive seller and then a third. Is a nightmare. Only to find out that their free tour is actually another oportunity to sell you jewelry. You are obligated to go into a Jewelry for one hr during thw tour. The Membership is a total scam. They ask you for thousands of dollars and all you in exchange a discount on properties and some other stuff that at the end of the day you are the one paying with their monthly financial. Dont let them ruin your vacation. I found people who did it and they regreat it.
