A few years ago this shop was sold by the previous owner to her employees. I had Carla do my nails for a year or two . She did an excellent job providing the no chip service, but I noticed as time passed the facility became dirtier and dirtier. Dirty, used baskets next to pedicure chairs were left unnoticed and unattended. Before I would sit in my chair to have my nails worked on I expected to have the area cleaned and it wasn't. Even dirty used disposable flip flops were left under the chair. Really inexcusable. Their quality of nails service was great. I just couldn't take the unclean condition of the facility. I left and never returned. read more

Best nail salon experience I've had in a very long time. I went with a friend and we both really felt that our nail tech's cared about the work they were doing. I also loved that I was not rushed or ignored when I asked questions or needed something fixed. I am very picky about my nail length since I need to be able to type for work and school and Dan was very understanding. He also went above and beyond to make my nails look awesome and even better than the photo that I showed him for reference. He and the other staff were very nice and actually talked to me which was great since I wasn't able to sit next to my friend. My friend had Cindy and said she was awesome as well. For years a big fan of this salon. Traveled from downtown Chicago to have my nails done ~ That's how lovely the management and service was. After two recent visits ~ the first resulting in an infection, the second waiting 45 minutes with an appointment (!) ~ And to add further insult to insult, the ownership was dismissive of my reasonable comments (e.g. What's the point of making an appointment when this once nice salon doesn't honor appointment times?) I moved to a different side of town and wanted to find a new nail salon. I got recommended to Krystal's and I loved it! The ladies working were very nice and my nail tech was careful and took her time. I didn't get acrylics this time around and just got a no chip mani, but she was careful to check my nails after ever coat that went on. I will be coming back! This was the first time that I've ever been to a nail salon when they soak your feet with only water- not to mention they do not use disposable liners. That should've been an indication of what to expect from a pedicure from this salon. The cost of the pedicure did not support the quality of the service I received. I paid $35, the tech did not turn on massage. The tech did an okay job with polish, but as I was getting in my car I noticed my feet were extremely ashy right after pedicure. This place is well-kept, and the staff is nice. I would not recommend getting your eyebrows done here, but everything else is great. My FAVORITE part is the amazingly extended massages that happen during the pedicure and manicure. It feels like heaven wrapped in a pillow of happiness and tension relief. First of all Carina is the best nail tech ever! I will be going back to her. This was my first time back to this nail salon in about 3 years. Only because I live in Chicago. I would go to Dan but I know him and I know he's excellent but busy. Since I had Carina today, I will be making the trip here for my manicures. She was great and the other girls were so nice and helpful with helping me pick out colors and making sure my nails were 100% dry. This place is so clean and such a calm feeling atmosphere. As a person who frequently visits salons and spas, I have never witnessed or received such rude treatment. Every person who enters the door is greeted by Kristy with a nasty remark of some sort. I've seen both owners get into verbal altercations with customers which is beyond unprofessional. The only reason people attend this place, which is unfortunate, is because of the girls who actually work there. It's too bad the owners can't see how damaging their lack of experience, business expertise, and people skills are hurting the entire nail salon. I went about a month ago for a no-chip manicure. The girl who did my nails was on her phone for the majority of the appointment. She explained she needed to make a call, which was fine; however, she then proceeded to text the entire time of the manicure. There was no hand massage which I thought was typical of manicures. It was near closing time and all the employees looked bothered to have to clean up. They were all sharing some picture on someones phone with each other and saying horrible things (I was left to believe it was an inappropriate picture). The only salvageable part was the manicure lasted 2 weeks. Will not be returning here. read more

I took my girlfriend here as a gift to treat her while we were in town. Seems like some of the reviews are a hit/miss with this spot but we decided to take a chance anyways since we were already nearby. We were greeted by Dan and Kristy/Krystal? who were actually very nice. The shop is very clean and well maintained. They even have TVs up on the wall so I had something to watch while they were working on my girlfriend's nails. She had a basic manicure and pedicure done which turned out pretty good. My girlfriend accidentally ruined one of her nails while it was drying so they fixed it free of charge. She's pretty happy with the end result. She said that it's better than most of the other nail salons that she's been to. They were pretty busy when we came in but you can tell that they try to get everyone done as efficiently as possible. BEWARE. They scammed me out of $80 for a basic, plain pedicure and a crooked, plain, sloppy acrylic set. Did not care to inform me of their extra charges and made up excuses as to why it cost so much when I asked. I could have done a FAR better job myself for free. I'm not to sure about this place. I rarely get a mani/pedi because my skin is super sensitive and has a mind of its own, but since I am treating myself I decided why not? The pictures looked great since I wanted a specific design. I was services right away by a younger girl and a woman (maybe the owner) wanted to do my mani at the same time and I showed her a pic of the design I wanted. She wanted to charge me 60 for it because it was by hand! It was literally 4 different regular polish colors and 5 horizontal lines on each finger. I said nope and just did a pedi. The girl who did it was a perfectionist. She kept asking how was the water, do I like how it looks, ect. My pedi took at least a half hour.....no wonder they offer to do both at the same time! And pedicure was 30 bucks! Pretty disappointed and still looking for a good salon. read more

This place is okay. It used to be better before they redecorated and got all of the new and young help. It's hit and miss as to if you get a girl that can do a good no-chip manicure. One girl in particular is super S-L-O-W (can't give her name because no one introduces themselves) but, her manicures and pedicures take almost an hour (sometimes longer) I don't think that the girls doing nails are licensed, as there are no licenses displayed on the wall and they are usually coached as to what to do. If the young girls do your nails, they are great! They take their time and are very precise and perfectionists! The no chip lasts longer than any other salons. However, the OWENERS are extremely RUDE!! My friends and I always ask for the girls because they are so sweet. The owners rush, nails don't last when they do them and charge extra for everything! I've been going to Krystal nails for almost 12 years. I am as loyal as they come. I recommend all of my friends to go and see Dann, Kristy, and the girls. I've even brought my brother and fiancé! They do fantastic manicures, pedicures, fills, gels, and no chips. They also do great waxes. They're fabulous at designs. Any sort of picture you bring in from online, they can do it and probably better. There's hundreds of choices and combinations of polish to choose from- you can't go wrong! The salon has had a gorgeous makeover in the last few months. Every manicure station had a comfortable chair and faces the tvs. The pedicure stations are always super relaxing as well. I enjoy getting the sugar scrubs and hot stone massages. The girls are very attentive to ask how you're feeling throughout the pedicure. The salon is clean, friendly, and a great place to spend an afternoon getting glammed up. I will continue to recommend Krystal Nails to all of my friends and co-workers because the service is impeccable. Twelve years and I have found no one better! read more

Krystals is the absolute best nail salon that I've been to. I have been to salons in New York city, Los Angeles, Scottsdale, Miami and even Puerto Vallarta and none of these salons were as thorough as Krystals. I have a gel overlay on my fingernails. Most places apply the product too thick. Krystals salon consistently applies it thin and smooth which makes the.nails look more natural. The salon is very clean and the tools are heat sterilized. Their pedicures are fantastic as well! Each manacurist does an excellent job. They all work very hard. Krystal (the owner) is one of the greatest multi-taskers that I have ever seen in action. She guides her staff, the customers, answers the phone while handling someone's manicure. I highly recommend to anyone. read more

I've gone to this place twice on the recommendation of many people. Both times, I was unlucky enough to get Maria. She's terrible!!!! I can't express that strongly enough without being really mean. She whispers when she talks, so you can't hear a damn word she says. She barely works on your heels to get the rough/dry skin off. Her polish technique is worse. She polishes worse than I do myself. Both times, I've walked out with polish on my skin and cuticles. This time she completely missed polishing a spot on my big toenail. I guess give the place a try, because a lot of people like. I have been coming to this salon for over seven years. They never give anything away as far as appreciating repeat customer business. They continually go up on the prices without giving proper customer notice. There is nothing posted to verify the increase in price.....they even have the audacity to charge you for soaking off the gel from your nails! They don't even tell you how to soak the product off! They charge for "everything ". I can get my nails done somewhere else for lots cheaper, but I do feel the quality of work is good. I feel the owners need to take some classes on customer service. They need to appreciate their regular customers and increase the prices for new or one time customers! Remember repeat customers is what keeps your business viable and thriving.
