If I could, I would rate a 0 stars. With being in a pandemic obviously catering is something that is hard to accommodate right now. BUT WHEN PUTTING DOWN A DEPOSIT IN JANUARY FOR A WEDDING IN OCTOBER, YOU WOULD THINK, that they would at least be understanding and communicate the possible options of what can be done. We hired K'Syrah to cater our wedding in Santa Ynez. This was - hands down - one of the best decisions we made for our big day! The entire process of menu selection and coordination was seamless and super fun! Working with Danielle was fantastic. She was so organized and communicative leading up to our big day, offering suggestions and answering any questions that came up. On our actual wedding day, we heard from many of our guests that the food served was one of the best meals they have had and that it "shouldn't even be considered wedding food." Chef Brooke is incredibly talented and we can only hope to eat more of her food in the future! My father even gave her a standing ovation at the wedding after the meal was served. This was a huge presumption... that was proven absolutely true... To seal the deal, Jimmy (the owner) even took my father in law to his actual farm to prove just how farm to table this farm to table catering actually is. We had them cater our vineyard wedding AND host our rehearsal dinner at their event space and I have to say, it was PERFECT. Danielle was incredibly helpful when it came to our budget concerns, coordination with our planner, keeping in touch with us, food tastings, etc. She even went above and beyond and helped us craft our wedding cocktail menu. Chef is the most personable, fun guy to speak with and legitimately wants his food, and in turn your wedding, to be perfect. During our reception he personally stopped by our table to make sure everything was going well and at one point, had our friend's baby in his arms. All the food is locally sourced, farm to table. I usually roll my eyes at that, but when you start wedding food tasting and realize everything tastes the same and you've eaten this chicken dish at 12 weddings in the past 3 years, you begin to appreciate K'Syrah's elevated taste. They have a mobile kitchen, which is a huge plus for a vineyard wedding and their event space in Solvang is beautiful. I'm sure everyone says this, but we've had tons of guests rave about the reception food AND our rehearsal dinner event and welcome party. I have attended two events with K'Syrah in Solvang, and both of them were spectacular. Firstly the food is amazing, Chef Brooke is fantastic at her craft. Both events were put on by K'Syrah at their business in Solvang. The second event I recently attended was their Harvest Dinner and it was fantastic! There happened to be a transformer that blew out, and half of the town was without power. This was not even a stressor for this team, this is what they do, cater and do pop up events in the middle of nowhere sometimes. So they took the kitchen outside, and made a true pop up event, the event got held back just 30 mins, and boom like magic it was as if nothing had happened and the event went off without a hitch. The food and wine pairings were delicious, and this event also featured Chef Demetri, as well as guest Chef Budi Kazali from The Gathering Table at the Ballard Inn. What a treat to have 3 amazing chefs all serving their culinary delights under one roof!?! If you ever get a chance to attend an event hosted by K'Syrah, I highly recommend it. Initially K'syrah was a wonderful choice. I do love the farm to table & the freshness of their menu. Unfortunately the pandemic ensued before our wedding was able to take place, we knew we would still want to get married regardless of what it would look like big like it was originally planned or small like a backyard wedding. We felt failed by their lack of communication & lack of contingency plans. We were willing to compromise & even requested if pre-packaged meals can be pre-pared, but they did not want to do that. I respect people's choice of not wanting to service during a pandemic for whatever personal reason, but I feel like since they were not able to fulfill a service for us after we had paid a hefty deposit we should have been refunded or even partial refund or given credit for future events & not be held accountable for the original full contract. We are disappointed & was quite hurt. We felt that we tried to work things out or come up with compromises but they were not willing to budge & ultimately they did not even follow-up or communicate with us leading up to our contracted day of event. I would not recommend their services at this time or in the future due to the lack of trust. read more

We put down a deposit back in December 2019 for a May wedding. Once covid hit, I immediately contacted the venue about what our options are. I was initially told that we may be able to get our deposit back only to be told later that we will not get our deposit back. I was laid off from work due to covid and not sure we could even afford the wedding anymore and was still told we would not get our deposit back but that we could use it for a future celebration. This doesn't really help when you are unemployed. Months later, my fiancé and I decided to have a very small, immediate family only wedding of less than 20 people and I contacted the venue about having this ceremony there so we could at least get some use out of our deposit. Even though ceremonies are allowed, they are closed and will not honor the contract even though we cannot get our deposit back because they said "we need to stick to the contract." I was told we can use our deposit for a future celebration such as a 1 year anniversary which sounds nice but not when you are planning for a family and will no longer have thousands of dollars to spend after that. Very confused about why the contract only matters when it comes to keeping our money. According to the contract they are likely within their rights to keep our money. Just be aware that it doesn't contain a force majeur clause which means that, even in an event beyond your control, like a pandemic, they can keep your money. And they will. read more

Today we were honored to attend a surprise retirement party at a catering company in Solvang, CA called K'Syrah Catering and Events. First, the venue itself was delightful! We felt very comfortable. They had a fire in the fireplace, which made the atmosphere cozy and warm. The staff members were very kind and friendly and passed around delicious appetizers while we waited for the main guest to arrive. Lunch was over the top delicious! There was slices of several different types of bread served with whipped butter; an arugula beet salad with I think goat cheese; roasted cauliflower; a melt in your mouth Orzo dish; baked salmon with a nice beautiful and flavorful crust - very moist I must add and a Wagyu tri tip that was so delicious and tender that I wish I would have taken another piece!! Brooke Stockwell is the executive chef there and she did an amazing job creating one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Danielle Dauphinee, Director of Events and Sales was very personable, sweet and kind and did a great job organizing and coordinating the event. We enjoyed the venue and the food so much. Appetizers to dessert, the flavors of the food were exciting and memorable!! We weren't even seriously looking for wedding venues when we stopped by K'Syrah for tasting. Everyone we met that works there is incredibly personable, they gave us great referrals for other services we needed. They connected us with Zaca Mesa Winery where we had our ceremony. Our rehearsal dinner took place at Zaca Mesa Winery where K'Syrah prepared everything on site, provided the dinnerware and glassware, set up tables - everything looked beautiful. The dinner was served buffet style and we had a Santa Maria style BBQ with Sol, Tri-tip, salad, the sides, dessert. Everything was delicious. With many of our guests coming from San Diego, we were 2 hours late to our rehearsal dinner, and had more people show up than the amount we planned. K'Syrah was able to work with us on the last minute time change and while they could add more food at that point, the amount they prepared was enough for all - we were very grateful. The wedding reception was at K'Syrah's location in Solvang is beautiful. At first we weren't sure how the separate rooms would work, but Danielle worked with us to design the best table arrangement to make our guests feel welcome. The day before we dropped off our decorations (greenery garlands, small candles, large candles, some cute boards) and talked to Danielle and our wedding planner Katie (KB Events) about how and where we wanted it placed. We didn't have to worry about anything on our wedding day and when we arrived to K'Syrah after our ceremony we couldn't believe how beautiful everything looked! K'Syrah's venue is already full of character and needs minimum décor, and with our decorations they were able to make it even more beautiful. They served food family style and throughout the night our guests were telling us that they had lots of food and that it was the most delicious wedding they've been to. We had about 100 people and had purchased K'Syrah's open bar package. There was never a line at the bar to get a drink, wait staff also took drink orders for our guests at the table. K'Syrah's pricing was more than reasonable, especially compared with many other wedding caterers and venues, and the quality of their service is outstanding. Jimmy is a high-school friend of my husband, and when he invited us up to look at his new venue in Solvang for an option to host our wedding, we were absolutely thrilled. We had searched numerous venues in and around Long Beach, and thanks to Jimmy, we ended up with the perfect location, venue and wedding weekend we could have imagined. Jimmy and his team catered our Friday night cocktail reception at a winery as well as our Saturday evening wedding at K'Syrah. K'Syrah is absolutely beautiful; the layout worked wonderful as we utilized the outside for the ceremony, the inside for cocktails and dancing, and the covered outdoor patio for dinner. There was no need for a multitude of flowers or decorations because the venue was so naturally beautiful. Danielle and her team did a wonderful job using herbs to decorate the tables, that aligned with the fresh flowers and herbs growing around K'Syrah. The food: our guests are still raving about the food. Jimmy is a very talented Chef. I originally was concerned about the food for Friday night being too similar to Saturday night, but with Jimmy's guidance on food choices, and his expertise, it was just perfect. With Jimmy's farm fresh-to-table approach, we could not have been happier with the freshness and flavor of the all the food.
