Stayed here for the Santa Barbara half marathon and the location was perfect. It was close enough to everything to walk everywhere. Room was big and spacious. Had fridge, and a microwave. Staff was friendly, they had a cute lounge you can buy drinks at. Down fall was room was kind of warm, even with ac on, room was pretty dark- no real lights and no breakfast. Usually when we do runs hotels have bk, and bk on the go for runners.

My go to hotel for a long weekend in Solvang! And for their unlimited tea options and cold brew coffee. I came in the summer and during the fall and both stays was very warming and inviting by the staff. It is also near a lot of gas stations and the freeway entrance. The only downside is the reception was trippy even though my family and I were connected to the WiFi.

This is my second time to Solvang in the last three years, and my first time staying at this hotel. They were very nice and upgraded my room, which I appreciated. There is food and drinks on the premises. The room we had was a loft with a pullout couch bed, and a King upstairs in the loft. The town and shopping along with restaurants is a walkable distance. I would definitely recommend staying here. They do have a pool that we weren't able to take advantage of just because we were short on time.

Inexpensive and clean! The front desk ladies are super friendly. They also have a bar as well. I loved that it's walkable to the solvang shopping area !

I absolutely loved our room at Vinland Hotel & Lounge. It was spacious, clean, and had a sliding glass door that let in lots of natural light--something I personally love. It made the whole space feel peaceful and grounding. We even saw fireworks on the Fourth of July from our room, which was a beautiful surprise. The room was comfortable, and we all genuinely felt relaxed during our stay--which isn't always easy to say on a road trip. It was easy to sleep, unwind, and just enjoy being there. There were nice modern touches, like a high-tech mirror with a light-up power button, and the main lobby was stunning--the only one on our trip where I actually sat, sipped tea, and spent time just planning the night with my sister. It felt cozy, peaceful, and elevated at the same time. And the cold brew on tap in the lobby? Absolutely unreal. As a former barista, I say this with full confidence: it was the best cold brew I've ever had. I still dream about it. The staff were warm, helpful, and kind, but a few things kept it from being a 5-star experience: * The ceiling-mounted showerhead looked cool but wasn't practical--hard to avoid if it's not a hair wash day. * The elevator went down for about 20 minutes during checkout, which meant lugging bags down the stairs. * Since my mom uses a cane, a first-floor room would've made things easier. * Trash service on Saturday left messy liquid all over the pavement. * One staff member (not in uniform) used the guest luggage rack to haul trash, which felt unsanitary. * The parking structure was crowded, and laundry hampers blocked the handicap path, which I had to clear myself. Still, the beauty of the place, the kindness of the team, and how comfortable and relaxed we all felt made this one of the best hotel stops of our trip. I'd happily stay here again--and bring a refillable cup for that cold brew.

This hotel is AWFUL. It is also a huge health risk! Upon arriving in our room we found mold over both AC vents, the shower was absolutely disgusting, crumbs and termite droppings all over the window sill. After complaining to the staff, they tried to give me attitude as if I was in the wrong. I would never stay at a dump like this.

Bartender Rick makes great drinks , friendly, and gives wonderful recommendations.Rick was such a great conversationalist and kept us entertained throughout our entire visit. He made the experience so enjoyable that we'll definitely be coming back just because of him!

Fantastic hotel. Why is nobody talking about the fact that they have a 24-hour coffee bar, complete with cold coffee on tap!?? That was amazing! I love iced coffee and was drinking it constantly (We visit in the summer). This hotel is terrific! Location location location. Clean and comfy and nice amenities. Oh, and free EV charging, love that!!

We booked a 1 night stay in the double queen superior room over Christmas Eve and really enjoyed our stay. I absolutely love that this hotel is pet friendly and have an amazing lounge with great drinks and food. Also one of the few places that are open late :) The front staff was incredibly sweet despite a small hiccup during check in. We actually arrived at 1:30pm and was hoping to be able to check in sooner since we just completed a long drive - our room wasn't ready yet but we were able to do the pre check in out of the way. We decided to get a couple drinks and snacks in the area and came back around 4. Check in is at 3pm and our room was still not ready. Slightly disappointed; we then opted to wait in the lounge. 2 hours later we were able to check in. The front desk were very apologetic and gave us a late check out as well as waiving the pet fee. Our room was nice and spacious. The only complaint I have is the drainage noise but other than that our stay was fine. Will definitely book again in the future.

Stayed @ the Vinland for my birthday weekend, Aug 1-3. I had 2 rooms and both rooms air conditioners were so loud, we couldn't sleep. To top that off, on my birthday night, we got back to the hotel about 1:30am and right outside my room there were like 7 people drinking, smoking, and being really loud. I called the lobby and she went out and asked them to keep it down, I guess. I think it went on for about 30 more minutes. Customer service was ok, they offered to have maintenance come to look at the AC, but I had already looked at Yelp and saw that there were numerous other complaints about the loud AC units. Also, the WiFi is awful! Barely worked! I didn't complain about this cause the AC issue was more important. Also, while not really a problem, the pic shows their tv w/ wires hanging out everywhere. Again, not an issue, but tacky... It's for sure not worth the price we paid.

Service dogs and their buddy, Darryl!

After walking in and passing the host stand, a server who was seated at the bar got up, walked us to a table, and suggested we sit on the loveseat. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself seemed promising. We were excited to settle in, have a drink, and check the place out. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but shortly after we were seated, a larger group came in. From that point on, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server focused on the larger party, taking drink orders and delivering beverages as more guests from their group arrived. Meanwhile, we sat waiting without any acknowledgment. Another group of ladies was seated nearby and appeared just as confused about who was helping them. We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. We'd be willing to give it another chance, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. Sadly, it looks like we definitely missed out on the famous Bowl for Two.

Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.

Even when the live music showed up, we couldn't bring ourselves to stick around because the food and wine were so bad. It's true, we did receive a story with our order. I don't care how good the origin story is if the wine sucks. It tasted like the bottle had been open for way too long (understandable given the lack of business) and the wine wasn't good to begin with so being stale didn't help. We were really there for the popcorn flight, which we had read raving reviews about. It was unimpressive to say the least. We kept expecting the flavors to get better but they only got stronger and more candle / soap like as we sampled. It tasted like the popcorn was doused in essential oils, so strong it was choking us to consume the soggy popcorn. Just brutal. I can't say one good thing about that popcorn. The one star I gave them is for the bow wow bag they gave my pup - it was a little goodie bag of milkbones which he appreciated!

In fact, I professionally moonlight as Historian specializing in medieval English history! This means that I am a sucker for anything reminding of the time period; making the Santa Barbara-adjacent Danish city of Solvang right up my alley with its medieval storybook streets/architecture. Among the many spots in Solvang that make my heart go pitter-patter is The Good Life: a cellar wine/ale/tavern- bar. Grab your favorite wench and come along to grab a pint... Stroll down Mission Drive in the famous Danish city of Solvang and you will be delighted to venture upon The Good Life that appears to pop out of a medieval history book with exposed wooden beans, plaster exterior walls and an entrance that resides at basement level (they don't call it a cellar bar for nothing!). Owned by a husband-wife team with extensive hospitality and restaurant experience under their belts in 2012; the charm of The Good Life is instantaneous and perfect for a gal like me obsessed with this sort of thing. Prepare to be instantly transported into the 15th century! Once you cross the threshold of The Good Life, the Shakesperean feel continues but is also modernized with a glowing fireplace, plush arm chairs and high bar tables (plus bar seating) and floor to ceiling wine racks. The Good Life is a perfect ratio of Solvang tradition with hints of romance making it ideal for a casual beverage, tourist pop-in or memorable date night drink. The latter is exactly how my boyfriend and I happened to come across The Good Life as we were visiting Solvang from Los Angeles for the city's Christmas-time Julefest. We had just spent the evening making holiday memories among the city's Christmas trees, twinkling lights and sugary delights. Post Danish-dinner, we decided to wrap up our forever-Solvang memory with a drink at The Good Life. We were immediately greeted by the male manning The Good Life without any attitude or distaste towards us for coming in as he was preparing to close for the evening. If he was upset with us in any way - he certainly didn't show it! The Good Life features an amazing menu of local and international wines, beers, ales, meads, ciders, and ports that make The Good Life feel fancy-schmancy and artisan; but also, neighborhood friendly for your favorite hipster or friend next door. My boyfriend and I shared a cider (I wish I remembered the specific one but alas my memory evades me) while enjoying the atmosphere of warmth at The Good Life. Other customers sat in the plush chairs with notepads and tarot cards, an older couple arrived to cap off the evening and I enjoyed the view of my boyfriend in a medieval-Danish inspired cellar bar. The Good Life is standout at accommodating to all customers and making sure no one feels out of place. A bountiful tip as important as the bosom of a medieval bar wench: the bathroom at The Good Life is labeled as 'Office'. Don't worry, you won't walk in on someone preparing accounting books and the only business happening behind this door involves you and your private matters. The Good Life is delightful and unique but doesn't just stop there: it also differentiates itself with a truly impressive alcohol selection that allows you to be introduced to local, national, Danish and international bevies you have surely not tried prior. The Good Life is recommended for a drink on your next trip to the tourist-friendly city of Solvang. Even if you aren't pretending to be in medieval times...

That wasn't the issue--we would have gladly complied if the policy had simply been explained respectfully. Instead, we were interrupted multiple times while trying to ask why there were no signs indicating the rule. The employee repeatedly responded, "Well, I'm telling you now." He then told us to go outside the fenced lounge area--even into the parking lot--to smoke, despite posted signs stating that alcohol cannot leave the lounge area. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and inconsistent. Businesses absolutely have the right to enforce their policies. There are a multitude of other breweries drafts on tap so that's great. Prices are a tad higher than what I've paid but it's a tourist area so it is what it is. Come check their place out when you get a chance!
