Mapo Ma Po Tofu

Been coming here since their previous location, and while the food used to be a little better back then, it's still one of my go-to Chinese spots in the Clearwater/Largo area. The new location is definitely smaller and can get very busy, especially with all the to-go orders coming through, so service and wait times can vary. Still, the food is solid, portions are good, and it's a reliable choice when I'm craving Chinese food.

This was kind of a mixed bag. The spring rolls are delicious, crunchy and the filling is soft and flavorful. The beef chow fun, the meat tastes great and the bean sprouts are crunchy, but the noodles are bland and need something, there's no umami but the beef has it.. The Singapore noodles just taste of low heat rather than curry. It's my first time eating here so maybe I ordered on an off night.

After a very long hiatus, a move to a new location, a long and challenging build out, and much much effort, Asian Pearl is open again for business! Tonight is opening night! The sign out front is on! The parking lot is dark! Tina is back taking orders! Be patient as they ramp back up! Life is good and food is delicious with Asian Pearl!

Must get the fresh stirfry eggplant in the spicy sauce. It's absolutely incredible. I haven't been to this place in a while since they had closed to relocate to this newer location however, now I remember why I never got the beef ciao fun because the seafood ciao fun or xo sauce is much much better so I will keep that in mind the next time when I arrive. The general Tsos is always very delicious. The portions here are very large each plate could feed four or five people alone. That's why I like to get the sauce on the side so then I could reheat it in a toaster oven later and dip it in the sauce as if I was still in the restaurant it will still be that good. The best Chinese restaurant in the area, located in Clearwater.

Yay they're back at their new location!! Still the same great flavors & taste. Ordered our favorites. Food always served fresh and piping out. Service is always friendly and despite it being a very busy night, waiters were all accommodating. One of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in the area. Came on a busy night with multiple tables eagerly waiting. One downside is that this is a smaller place with fewer tables, but hoping they can expand again one day which they'd certainly benefit from! Looking forward to our next meal here!

I'm sad. I paid for extra gg and didn't receive any. Still sad. Need my vitamin D .

I'm so addicted to The Asian Pearl. It's definitely the best Chinese food around. The Best!

I was happy to see that Asian Pearl back open. However, the food did not taste the same, especially the Mongolian beef. That's one of the things that I order every single time they added a lot of vegetables and meat was different.. Service was still great. And the overall ambiance was nice as well. But I really do miss the other location where we had the spinning table tops to share food. It just really gave that authentic Chinese restaurant. The locations parking lot is a little bit difficult in reference to parking and the overall appearance. There was also several other items that we ordered that was just okay. Nothing but at this moment would really make me want to come back but since they've been open about a month or two I will give them some more time to see if they're going to bring their standard up. Based on taste Mongolian beef give this 2 stars. When they served Mongolian beef before there was no vegetables with the beef. Bbq pork give this 2 stars a lot of the pieces were dry. And this is an item that we sent back and showed the waitress House fried rice was the best item that we ordered that day which I will give this 5 stars .

On the rare occasion that…read moreseafood was on the menu, it was typically a frozen variety like Groton's, or the occasional fish fry at the Elk's Club. That's changed since moving to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where the fish at the local restaurant today was probably swimming yesterday. My "go-to" seafood now is a grouper sandwich which I order blackened but NOT fried. I've sampled grouper sandwiches from many local dining establishments, but my favorite is from "Carvor's Fish House" A couple of important notes: 1) Carvor's is only open for LUNCH. Their hours vary, so you'll want to check the website, but they typically close at FIVE PM, with the last order accepted at FOUR PM. 2) Carvor's has NO inside dining The patio is tree-shaded with extra umbrellas but if it's really hot, you may be uncomfortable. 3) Carvor's has COUNTER SERVICE. You go inside, order your food and THEN go back outside and select a table. When your food is ready, a server will bring it to your table. 4) This is downtown Dunedin, and parking can occasionally be a challenge on Douglas Street, but FREE parking is available in the city parking garage across the street. Pictured is my "blackened grouper" sandwich. A refreshing change from the usual French fries is their homemade chilled tomato, cucumber and onion salad. Delish!

The next time, we went for lunch and they were out of some things that we initially ordered, but we ended up with a heating plate of fried things that kind of felt like bar food. Service was great and super attentive. We started with the hush puppies, which were good. Definitely not the best, but they were still good. They came with a side of ranch. Out came the seafood boil, we ordered two one of their standard boils and then I did a customer boil with crab legs and sausage. We both added boiled eggs to ours and went with the mild spice level and Mr. And Mrs. Crab seasoning. They bring out a bib, gloves and a discard bucket when you order the boils. Overall, I thought it was pretty good. Again, not the best I've had but it satisfied our craving. My girlfriend thought it was delicious and was making sure to soak everything up in the sauce, haha. One thing I noticed was the crab was lacking on some of the legs, not as meaty. Not sure what caused that. Also, there was a bit of a funky after taste with the boil that I haven't encounter before. I don't know if it was the seasoning or the sauce. Just my personal opinion and others might think differently. Also, wasn't really a fan of the potatoes or the egg. Just tasted off to me. Overall, we had a good experience. Might return in the future to give it another shot.

The fish and chips that were so good have been off-tasting the last couple of times. And the chips have been soggy because they put the fish on top of it. Furthermore, the last time we were there, our server who was excellent, misunderstood and brought us one order each of two different kinds of peel and eat shrimp. My Husband didn't want to say anything so we just had to suck it up and pay for it. Which that is our fault for not mentioning anything, but the one variety tasted like chemicals. It was so bad neither of us could even eat one whole one out of the batch. This does not mean that I'm writing the place off, because even at that last meal that was so disappointing, another couple who was with us loved their meals. I will go again, and I will get one of those probably. Because the service there is really great and our first few visits were stellar. Maybe there has just been a change lately that has put them in a temporary slump, or maybe we just happen to get unlucky three times in a row.
