Located in a strip mall off Gulf to Bay and Hampton over by US 19, you might miss this place if you weren't looking. I could definitely go for more of those bad boys. Unlike most places that seem to mostly be dough, these have a decent amount of filling and excellent flavor. A crab Rangoon is brought out in the same fashion as other types of restaurants would bring out bread or chips and I have to say, I am lovin it! Other restaurants, take note. Currently the restaurant has social distancing for the customers who dine in there. We order a garlic squid lunch special and the basil noodle with pork. It come with correct spiciness of the heat level. I have it Thai hot. The squid has good garlic sauce. It also good numbers pieces of the squid. The best is the noodle. It is done in the high BTU wok. The edge of noodle is slightly burn and create a good wok application to the noodle. I like that way they have wok it. It is delicious. Local hidden Thai spot. Super tasty and very close to my house. They recently remodeled the inside and it looks very good. With that also came the increase in price for food which was fine. My issue was the portion size was significantly smaller and I ordered at dinner time. Normally I order the basil noodles for lunch and it's about 11$ with tax and it's enough food where I can save some for later. This time I ordered the basil noodles for dinner. Expecting the same large lunch portion, I didn't order anything else with it. Huge disappointment when I got home and opened the box to see the smaller basil noodles portion for $15. I love this restaurant and have ordered quite a bit in the past. It has been awhile and I was craving pad Thai so I ordered delivery this evening. I put in the order notes 'level 2 spice out of 5'. I got my order and it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. I then remembered this happened once in the past. My box was marked 'medium' on the outside but it felt more like a level 10. I will definitely order from this place again but I will remember to stress 'MILD' for the spice level moving forward. The price is different from the menu: it's $7.50 for lunch instead of $6.95. I didn't ask for any spice so the pad Thai tasted very peanut-y. It didn't taste too greasy. When it comes to Thai food and sushi, I like to rely on recommendations from folks I know. So when a good friend raved about this restaurant for its Thai cuisine and fresh sushi, I was anxious to check it out. The restaurant is tucked into a small retail center overlooking Gulf to Bay Boulevard in Clearwater. Look for the original Hooters, activate your turn indicator and park in the lot. The interior is pleasant and there are booths as well as tables for guests. Service seems to always be with a smile and is attentive without being intrusive. My first visit I was oh-so-set for sushi but that particular night (can't recall why) sushi was not an option. So I quickly switched gears and got ready to Thai one on. The dish was suitably spicy (as requested) but the heat was not so high that it masked all of the more subtle flavors. Months later I swear I can still recall the delicious broth. Visit #2 meant it was time for sushi. Good thing I tried the Thai food first because if my initial visit was the sushi, I probably would only order sushi every time I went to dine there. Everything I tried - from my plate as well as my friend's - was outstanding. I like raw fish and really dislike fish that is tough to chew or has any sort of less-than-fresh-flavor or odor. That was not the case here. I have been back and will be back. It is not that often I find a Thai place I would recommend or a sushi place that stands out from others. Extremely disappointed in the changes that have transpired with this place over the last few months. I fell in love with Pattaya in October and have been going there on a weekly basis ever since. Their website seems to have been upgraded and looks very nice. I almost always order the Basil Fried Rice and Vegetable Curry. Last Friday I ordered my take-out and when I got home and opened up the quart sized styrofoam (so NOT environmentally friendly packaging!!) the container was barely half full of curry. I called them and asked why there was so little in the container. The waitress put me on hold and after a few minutes came back and told me that those are the portions now. So, apparently even though I'm spending the same amount of $$ as in October I am now definitely getting less food - Not Cool!! This place is the best Thai food we've had in the Clearwater area since moving here a year ago. My husband is super picky, and while it's made the search difficult, it's been worth it. We came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, about 12:15. There were only a couple of tables along the sides of the place occupied. We sat down and the waitress was there with menus and to get our drink orders immediately. We got Cokes, which came in cans. After the drinks, she brought out small bowls of the Tom Kha soup. AMAZING. The flavor combination of the chicken broth and coconut milk was just what I didn't know I needed. Husband ordered beef fried rice and I had the red curry, with an order of egg rolls. He didn't say much while eating, except to point emphatically at his plate with a look and a nod. I had a bite - definitely delicious! My curry had eggplant, snap peas, green beans, onions, peppers, and bamboo shoots. The flavor was great, but I'll definitely request it spicier next time. Overall, absolutely no complaints.
