With regards to Maalaea Banyans, while it appears they responded with an acknowledge. That's where it stops. No progress or attempts to make changes or to better the establishment. Understand that while many people may visit Maui yearly. Others may take 30 years to finally visit Maui, traveling from clear across the county. We spend $2500 in flight tickets with seat upgrades and luggage fees. Additional $800 for rental car. And then finally the $2017 for the week stay. Take $2017 x 4 weeks x 80 rooms. That's a lot of money even if some of the rooms have residences living there for the business not to spend a little to accommodate their guest for basic toiletries. After being on the plane for 5 hours. We get to our room only to find out that: (1) we have to go buy bathroom soup and shampoo to clean ourselves. (2) no cooking oil to even cook an egg. (3) no salt and pepper. (3) only two rolls of toilet paper. The business knew in advance that there were two adults staying for a week. Do they think 2 rolls would be enough? They don't care. (4) the bed is hard and unsleepable. (5) no air condition. (6) laundry detergent. We had to go out and buy everything. It is not the money that upsets me. It is the lack of empathy and care for their guest. Everything that I've mentioned has been previously reviewed and nothing has been done. Then I saw the taped note from management that was on the refrigerator. It read in short, "...thank you for your stay. We understand that you may have some uneaten food. Please leave it in the fridge for the staff..." Everything made sense after that. I'm to leave the brand new rolls of toilet paper for the next guest. Leave dish soap, cooking oil, salt & pepper. THEY SAVE MONEY.

And her response to our bad review was exaggerated and untruthful. She obviously took it personal even though we said she was kind in our review. I do not recommend her or their Kihei rental house. It had nothing to do with the extra $100 cleaning fee, that's just hilarious. For the money we paid to stay here the house just wasn't worth it. Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere if you want a good experience, clean house, and a stress free vacation and deposit refund. We also rented through another vacation rental company the week before renting Sherry's Kihei home right next door and had zero problems or complaints about them or from them. She put my doubts to ease and kept in contact by email till I arrived to our rental property, on 08/05/2014. The property was beautiful and the pictures did not do it justice. loved staying in one of these cottages while on maui! it's the perfect location with beach access…read morenearby. the cottage was super comfortable with one of the best showers i have ever had in a hotel. it was really nice to have a full sized fridge and microwave. the property is absolutely gorgeous with a garden-like atmosphere. there were trees with plumeria flowers that were so pretty. each cottage has a patio out front, and it was perfect to sit on and enjoy the weather/view. there also was a spigot outside each cottage to wash off sand, which was so nice and a thoughtful amenity. this property is family owned and operated, so it was great to support a small business. aisha was great and provided some awesome recommendations of places to see and food to eat. will definitely stay again when i (hopefully) return to maui!

Knowing what we've been through, she even promptly letting us know when an early check in became available. She turned our bad start into a wonderful experience. The condo itself is beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The location is perfect. kihei usually has better weather than other parts of the island and it is basically the mid point of the major tourist spots. Right across her condo is a beach park and she even provided a full set of beach supplies, which made our stay effortless and relaxing. The pictures showed how immaculate and well cared for this studio is, but doesn't show you how many amenities there are!! Entering the unit with keyless entry was a breeze. Everything is labeled (who wants to waste their vacation figuring out how the appliances work??) and we found everything we needed in the kitchen, a very clean bathroom with plenty of towels/beach towels and this unit has a vanity! I am one of those women who dread the typical poor hotel lighting and leaning over a huge sink to get close enough. My overnight stays in Maui range from a basic, old- yet charming attached guest quarters in kula to a beach view at Hotel Wailea. While the latter was a ritzy experience, I would rather stay here!! I would recommend for job seekers to be cautious. I really hope the management would fire him soon and be replace with a better housekeeping manager.

The photos of this rental did not represent the actual space! Over priced, out dated and unclean! One of the two sitting chairs had ice cream or candy stains on the seat ! Kitchen: Was over stocked with unusable cookware- warped frying pans and no baking dishes! Washrooms : The bathtub was filty dirty and stained, I wouldn't wash my dog in it ! The cabinets were all worn and partial board, totally disgusting!I had to wash the standup shower, sinks and floors before even using! Not to mention the ratty worn out towels that were left to use were awful! Not a hand soap bar to be seen! Only 3 same sample bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body wash was complimentary! The Lanai.. Table and chair set was wobbly, totally garage ! And the not so cute birds that made a nest in the exterior light ( that did NOT work) which my husband had to remove because the property management group did nothing about that after contacting them! We did want to use the lanai to enjoy the beautiful sunsets due to bird poop being present ! so unsanitary! We were expecting a small refund but never did receive a dollar! We booked through VRBO and stayed 5 nights in unit 311 which has a great ocean view and the sunsets from the lanai are like no other. You might even see some honu (sea turtles) poke their heads up or flick a flipper just beyond the rocks. Most mornings, the local canoe clubs head out early and make a stop in this cove for their morning rituals. Like many condo buildings in Kihei, it is dated, but with good upkeep and maintenance. There are many pluses and some minuses, but again the view is the best. + Location: 20 min drive from Kahului airport and steps from the ocean. + Free parking: If there isn't a hang tag pass in your unit, request one at the lobby office that's open 9am-2pm. + Beach: Family friendly and easily accessible. Most of the lagoon is knee deep and you can wade up to waist deep all the way out to the rock sea wall. If you want waves, go past the rock wall to the other side of the beach. The sun peeks over the building mid-morning. + Pool: Very clean and well maintained. Saw the pool guy every morning skimming debris. 3-6 ft deep. Shower before swimming, Use the pool code to enter and exit. Open 8:30am-8:30pm + BBQ Grills: 3 gas grills by the entrance to the beach for residents use with 2 picnic tables. Saw the staff cleaning them every morning. Look in your unit's kitchen for BBQ tools. + Rooftop access: Another 4 gas grills up top with plenty of tables. Great for stargazing on clear nights.
