I ordered takeout. The restaurant was clean, tasteful and the young man who took my order was very pleasant. After eating, I have decided that I am picky when it comes to Chinese food. I had chicken & broccoli, and hot and sour soup from the lunch special. The main dish had an orange colored sauce and was pretty bland. My soup was so hot and spicy that I coughed a lot. ( I confused it with sweet and sour soup, which isn't on the menu! My bad.) The portions were okay but an egg roll would have been nice too in this lunch special. Also, I would have preferred to have a mixed meat or fish dish to choose from, but they don't have that. Their style of cooking appears to be mainly Hunan. I think I will pass on another lunch at Kum Fong. read more

Very salty! The Won Ton and the Egg Drop soup had a lot of salt! I never had Hunan Chicken in chunks like that before! Usually flat unbreaded pieces. It was fresh. Not bad. Service excellent. Decided to come here last minute. I was actually grocery shopping and when I was about to get in my car I could smell the food from the restaurant so I figured I'd give this place a try. The restaurant is very clean inside and the staff was friendly. I will say this is probably one of the more expensive Chinese restaurants I've been to. Two combo platters came out to $29. I'm guessing due to inflation and the large portions the price is fair but I was taken back when she told me the cost. I ordered chicken and broccoli. Was a bit disappointed bc the chicken was cut into such small pieces. After eating here I'd say flavor is good and combo platters are great for sharing. read more

Located in a strip mall with a shop rite, chikfila, nail salon, Sally's beauty supply and a few other things. Came here out of pure convenience on a rainy Saturday night after going to Shoprite. The place is your typical Chinese restaurant on the inside. Very clean and lightly decorated. While there, several people came in to grab take out so they are clearly very busy with take out orders. There were several other people there dining in. We were greeted immediately with menus, water and hot tea. Upon ordering, they brought over crispy noodles with mustard and duck sauce. We ordered steamed dumplings as an appetizer to share. My dad had the hot and sour soup. The soup was great he said. The dumplings were the soft kind of dumplings. They were pretty good honestly. I prefer a thicker dough but I still enjoyed these dumplings and the sauce very much. For dinner we shared chicken lo mein with no vegetables and sweet and sour shrimp. The breading on the shrimp was so much that there was barely shrimp inside. Basically just way too much breading. But the flavor of the sauce was very good. The lo mein was pretty good. The chicken was very good and the noodles were very thin but good. All in all, I would come again but it's pretty typical Chinese restaurant. I lived in NYC for years and now live in center City Philadelphia. My parents live in Burlington and when I visit there is only one place to order from for delicious food Everytime. Kum Fong has THE BEST Chinese food I have ever had. Any negative review is comical considering what is available in the tri-state area. The Lo mein is hands down the best I ever had and that is only one dish. The homestyle shrimp is also legendary. Can't say enough about this place. We wish it was closer!! read more

I have periodic business in South Jersey, and I always make it a point to eat at Kum Fong in Burlington at least once on each trip. Great food. Attentive service. Standard Chinese restaurant. Food is pretty good and they give you a decent amount. I never finish mine and I have to take it home. I typically get the beef and broccoli or garlic sauce on the combination menu as my meal. I recommend the fried dumplings as an appetizer though.They are excellent. One thing to keep in mind is even though their hours say they are open until whatever time, they seem to randomly decide to close the dining room early and switch to take out only. A nice clean place and good food. Nothing to crave for but a place I can eat again if I am in the neighborhood and need to eat something. The lunch price is very affordable and have a good selection. I like the Chicken egg plant with garlic sauce. The hot and sour soup is good also. I've had better pork fried rice but it is acceptable. Nothing you will hate but nothing you will crave for also. Two stars for the generals chicken. Surprisingly 2nd best I've ever had.....that being said I don't really recommend much else. I'm sick and wanted soup egg drop to be exact. So we ordered and the soup was super thick I decided to bypass and eat the chicken. Today I tried heat it up for lunch and it was so incredibly thick it wouldn't even turn to soup it was literally like jello no matter how much I stirred it and tried to heat it up. I ended up flushing it down the toilet wasting my money. The veggie fried rice is also nasty it's only a bunch of water chestnuts and bamboo shoots same with the veggie egg foo young. Like where is the carrots, pea's, scallions or baby corn. The shrimp and broccoli is also meh it tastes ok but the shrimp are really small. If your looking for generals chicken, shrimp tofu or whatever I'd say try it......but if your craving anything else I don't recommend it. read more

Place has changed in the past 2 years. Flavor has disappeared. I can used to say the highly priced items are worth spending $2-4 more than most Chinese Food joints. But since they have increased the prices, they have cut down on portions AND quality. The noodle they use for lo mein is better brand, but sadly that's all I taste.. flour-y lo mein that's bland. I can't even tell if I'm eating shrimp, chicken or beef lo mein. We ordered 1 of each and they all tasted the same! I want to be able to taste the entire flavor profile when you combine meat, veggies, kikkoman, msg, seasoning, garlic, and lo mein in a wok under high heat. The chicken wings: I get the situation with covid and inflation; but for a few wings, you can't make it at least juicy and use salt? The chicken and broccoli, among other dishes, doesn't taste like they usually make it. Something in the sauce changed; and I don't mean the excessive oil! I have found Lim Fong Delight actually has tastier entrees for less $$. But the point is, IMHO, I'd rather spend more on a place that actually still care about quality because it means I'll be coming back for more. Love this place! Best Chinese food in the area hands down. Not your typical spot with fries and wings but instead a quality place with great food friendly service and a good location. My favorite is they have vegetable egg rolls (no pork for me) and the beef lo mein. I didn't hold much hope for this place when I saw it going up in the new shopping center. I was craving vegetable lo mein one day recently and decided to give this place a try. I was very pleasantly surprised!!! It has a very nice, clean sit down area for eating in. I saw noodles and duck sauce on the table while a few people were awaiting their entrées. The person at the front was very nice and efficient. The true test was trying out the food. Lo mein is usually pretty oily and not very flavorful. The lo mein here was very different. First, the noodles they used were not mushy but slightly firm and chewy. There were plenty of vegetables and it all tasted really good! I'm still surprised! Their lo mein is easily the best in this area and possibly the best I've ever had. I am looking forward to trying some more from them soon. read more

It's the kind of food where it's so good you don't want to stop eating even though you're full. Everything was super fresh, even the orange slices they gave us with our fortune cookies. We visited Kum Fong in Burlington today for takeout. I can't seem to find a Chinese restaurant in this area that I like. I received some coupons for this place in the Valpak mailer so I thought we'd try it. We ordered the Homestyle Chicken (General Tso's chicken) combination platter, the crispy orange beef dinner (which I saw a few people recommend) and steamed pork dumplings (we had a coupon for these). The homestyle chicken and the crispy orange beef had so much breading on them that it was hard to see any meat. The pork fried rice that came with the combination platter had no flavor. There was very little of anything in it. And the steamed dumpling filling was flavorless. If there was at least one thing I liked, I'd probably return and try some different items. But this was a dud. We won't be back. read more

My wife and I love this place. We would go every week ritually. This is the best Chinese food we have ever had. I am not exaggerating. When we first tried it there was no sign on the outside and we thought we hit the jackpot. Months later they finally had their new sign up and customers were swarming in. Usually old couples eat there which is very nice and quiet. They have takeout but I suggest staying and eating there. The waitress is very nice and so helpful. The owner is the cook and he's awesome. Their crab Rangoon is delicious (small but delicious). I always get either the house special which is general Tsoas chicken or I get the Kung Pao chicken. My wife always get the orange beef. I've tried almost every thing and there's not one thing to complain about. We moved away from jersey but our next stop in the city is straight to there. read more

My boyfriend and I found this place while it was hidden. We knew it as the 'bomb Chinese place with no name'. So far, every dish has been good. The crab Rangoon are tiny, but flavorful! We also like that they have tablecloth napkins and the place is casual but nice. Just make sure to go with some time because the waitress doesn't like taking your order before she brings out the Chinese dip and chips. We came in hungry one day knowing what we wanted and when she came to serve the water we told her what we wanted. She looked at us wide eyed and told us she would come back in a few minutes to get our order, so we needed to wait. I thought that was rude and honestly the dumbest thing I have herd seeing that I don't think I should wait to order if the waitress is at our table, but we said okay. I was placing an order.. now their prices are on the high side for Chinese places.. nothing comes with pork fried rice.. I wanted chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice and she said it only comes with white rice.. Ridiculous!! I have never had this issue anywhere else.. i even said it to her.. so I had to order pork fried rice... it was convenient since I was at ShopRite... Never again.. Not happy read more
