Dr. Kumagai is the best. Honest and friendly. My child looks forward to going to the dentist and actually reminds me when we are due.

Dr. Lee and his team made me feel comfortable right from the start. they were incredibly patient and kind with me with everything from explaining my insurance coverage to explaining exactly what care I needed and why (because my past experiences had me nervous and skeptical). Dr. Lee's team not only took care of my regular cleanings, but got me through a necessary root canal I'd been avoiding, and he took out all of my wisdom teeth - truly it speaks to the care and compassion of his team that I was able to overcome my personal hurdles in such a short period of time. they were always very thorough, helpful, and informative.

I first saw him in the early 2000s, and the work he did then is still going strong. The more recent work is also great. I've had a couple of veneers, some root canals and crowns, and regular fillings. The front office and all the staff are personable and professional, and Dr. Lee is very good at his job and explains everything very well. When I've had a lot of work done at once, they checked on me over the following days, making sure everything was healing as it should. I wish I could afford to switch to them for everything!

But in this case, I feel it's important to share. I came to this office years ago after moving to Cerritos, right before my wedding, simply looking for a new dentist and a routine cleaning. They had great reviews, which is why I trusted them. From the start, I was told I had extensive issues--multiple cavities needed to be redone and several crowns were recommended. This was surprising to me, as I've consistently gone to the dentist and had never been told I needed such drastic work. Still, I trusted their assessment. The procedures that followed were some of the most painful dental experiences I've ever had. They took hours, felt extremely aggressive, and left me in severe pain afterward--far beyond what I've ever experienced with dental work. I have a high pain tolerance, and this felt very wrong. What was most frustrating was what happened next. I returned multiple times explaining that I couldn't sleep, eat, or function due to the pain. Each time, my concerns were dismissed and attributed to things like not flossing (umm I couldn't floss because of the extreme pain), which didn't make sense given the level of pain I was in. After pushing back repeatedly--especially with my wedding just days away--I insisted something was seriously wrong and requested further evaluation. It turned out I needed three root canals as a result of their prior work. Separately, the crowns that were placed caused ongoing issues. Eating anything with texture would cause gum pain, and I noticed unusual gaps that trapped food. When I brought this up, I was told the only solution was to redo the crowns at additional cost. My crowns also came off. Later, I happened to see a different dentist at the same office (a female provider who may have been temporary), and she immediately noted that the crowns had been placed at an awkward angle. She corrected them, and since then, I've had no pain and no further issues such as crowns falling off. I ultimately switched dentists and have not needed any major dental work since--just routine cleanings every six months, with no recurring problems. Based on what I went through--particularly the aggressive treatment, the outcome, and the dismissal of my concerns--I feel it's important for others to have full context before making a decision.

To make sure he was the right doctor I wanted to go to. As I had bad experiences with prior dentists with care and some disregarding pronouns. Hopefully, I don't run into any of these issues here. After back and forth with pricing and patient reviews from different dentist. I found I was able to get a decent price for my Invisalign with my insurance here. From my observation from going here for about a year. His office is clean and his team is professional when they check you in, and sending reminders of appts or rescheduling. Mornings are usually their busiest. Might have to wait depending how busy they are. In my experience for my check up visits, Im usually in and out (Which is nice). My check up appts are between 6-8 weeks. I usually see his techs. They did my attachments and removal. And receive my next set of retainers and some chewies. From the prior set of attachments two of them came out but they said it was fine. One of my attachment removal is still a little sensitive think it might have been grinded down a little too much. I can see some of my teeth are slowly but surely getting straight. I've seen Dr.Cho a handful of times with the consultation, grinding for gapping teeth and two or three of my check ups. Two more appt and hopefully I won't need it anymore sets. I understand their office is busy. But, more checks from the Dr through the invisalign process about progress and concerns would have been more reassuring.

I went in expecting a straightforward procedure that had already been evaluated through multiple X-rays beforehand. At no point during any of those prior appointments was I told that I would need additional services outside of what my insurance covered. What happened instead was honestly shocking. It wasn't until I was already in the chair, hooked up to all the equipment, and literally seconds away from being put under anesthesia that one of their assistants approached me with consent forms for "additional services" totaling $1,600. This was the first time I had ever heard about these "needed" services. They told me my insurance didn't cover these services and that the surgeon would not perform the procedure unless I agreed to pay. Being put in that position, vulnerable, prepped for surgery, and then pressured to sign forms for thousands of dollars that were never previously disclosed, it felt completely inappropriate. When I refused and pushed back, the price suddenly dropped from $1,600 to $550 after someone went back to speak with them. That alone raised serious red flags. If these charges were legitimate and necessary, why were they never mentioned during the multiple X-rays and consultations leading up to surgery? Why wait until I was strapped into the chair and about to go under anesthesia? I ended up leaving and sitting in my car while my primary dentist tried to sort it out. I no longer felt comfortable proceeding there after how the situation was handled. Now I have to delay getting my wisdom teeth removed for another month or two which is extremely inconvenient considering that me and my partner both took time off of work to make time for the surgery that was supposed to happen. This experience felt like a last-minute pressure tactic to get additional money out of a patient who was already in a vulnerable position. Transparency and informed consent should happen before the day of surgery! Certainly not when someone is seconds away from being sedated. I would strongly advise anyone considering this office to get every single charge in writing well in advance and question anything that hasn't been clearly disclosed upfront. Extremely disappointed.
