I wanted to follow up with a more accurate one star review. When I came to OC plaza dentistry I asked if they accept my insurance and was told yes. How ever I was getting billed out of pocket for all of my exams and cleanings. When I had a dental emergency OC plaza dentistry was there for me and took care of my tooth. For that I am grateful. However I needed a new crown that they would not place it until I paid for my previous visit (understandable but why am I charged for exams in the first place?)I have now been at OC smiles for 18 months. Similar to OC plaza dentistry, they said they accept my insurance (Cigna ppo). I haven't been charged out of pocket for any of my visits. I'm posting this so if anyone out there has similar insurance they can hopefully avoid overpaying at this dentist. read more

They say that they accept Cigna insurance, but if you come here with Cigna insurance, you'll still end up having to pay for each visit and each service that you have done. The staff here are friendly, but it isn't worth the premium of paying extra that you wouldn't have to pay elsewhere for the same or better care. read more

My whole family and I LOVE it here. I've been to the children's dentistry now I've made my way up to the plaza dentistry right next door! We always get the best of the best service here, feels like home when they treat you with kindness and such. Our family has been going to OC Plaza Dentristy and Dr. Saeedi for many years. We cannot speak highly enough for Dr. Saeedi and everyone that works at this office. He is an excellent dentist and truly cares about his patients dental care and health. Our family has required many different dental procedures done by him and his staff and they are professional and outstanding at what they do. Our daughter and her fiancé were getting married and her fiancé needed to have his front tooth pulled. He was very anxious about how his tooth would look before the wedding but Dr. Saeedi made a special bridge that matched his other tooth Perfectly so the wedding pictures would look fabulous until he could place the permanent tooth in position. I decided to give this place a try after my dentist was out of town and I had pain on my wisdom tooth. I was spectacle at first because I really liked my dentist and it takes a lot for me to trust a dentist. This place happens to be next to my kids dentist which I believe it's the same owner. Anyways I called to see if they had any openings and to my luck they told me they could see me right away and if I needed to get the tooth extracted the oral surgeon was in. It's like it was meant to be, I made my way over there and they took me in right away, the dentist Dr. Saeedi was great. Turns out I had an infection and I needed to get the tooth extracted. The procedure was terrible ( they had to use a hammer to crack it ) but I've heard it's common for the type of tooth. I was just glad I had it taken out. Been coming here for about a year and a half, though I should have moved on a long time ago. Each time the sales pitches become more desperate and patronizing, as if to say patients must be broke losers if they opt against expensive procedures they're not even sure are legitimately needed. I know teeth are important but they act as though you're going to die a horrible death immediately if you don't pay up. Never have I been treated with such disrespect. This week, my husband came back in for a routine cleaning (covered by insurance) only to be told we had to pay out of pocket $900 for something entirely different and was refused the routine cleaning because it "wasn't what he needed." Suspicious indeed. He said I'd need to think about the extra procedure, please just clean his teeth but they refused. He had to sign a bunch of stuff saying that HE was the one refusing treatment just because we are hesitant to cough up $900 for something they CLAIM is needed. How do we even know they're not scamming us? Wasted an hour of his life while they made him watch dramatic videos of teeth decay to try to guilt trip us into going with that expensive treatment. (It should be noted that my husband has never even had a cavity so his mouth is in good shape.) Finally the actual dentist came in whom he'd never even met before, who literally raised her voice at him for not going with their treatment to the point he had to walk out, shaken and patronized. The dentist and staff are rude, condescending and their sales pitches worse than a used car/timeshare convention. I don't know if this truly is a scam for profits but this dental office does NOT care about its patients anymore than a black widow cares about its victims. Please whatever you do, do NOT become a patient here. read more

I've been dentist hopping for the past few years because things just never worked out. After today, I think I've found a permanent dental office where I can become a regular. The staffs are friendly and happy. Service is top-notch from the moment I arrived to the cleaning that I received. I don't think I've ever had such a thorough cleaning. Hong really knows what she is doing. She did an amazing job cleaning and educating me on areas that I needed to improve on. Now that's what I call an amazing service! I will definitely be back! And I'll be bringing more clients with me. Tips: new patients-expect to be here for at least two hours. They really do take the time to care for your dental heath. Also they have this optional coverage that they charge $15 for and it's supposed to cover the difference of what your insurance does not cover. Ask the front desk for more details. It's good for one year so I think it's worth considering. read more

Having been through some awful and somewhat traumatic dental and orthodontic experiences, I was beyond relieved when I found Dr. Michael Campbell and Dr. Elisa Lobue Campbell. They are both incredibly knowledgable and such sweet people. I actually look forward to going to the Dentist now. Dr. Michael Campbell and Dr. Elisa Lobue Campbell are extremely gentle and have excellent communications skills. They are great at making you feel comfortable during a procedure and explain what they are doing before, during or after a visit clearly and in a way that is easy to understand. They want their clients to leave happy as well as educated and well informed, which is something I appreciate immensely. They really care about their clients and are very passionate about what they do. They are honest and are very reasonably priced considering how exceptional their work is. The environment is clean, well kept, professional and very welcoming. There are small tv screens with dvd players attached to all the chairs, which I found really comforting, it really calmed me and provided a wonderful distraction during more intensive treatments. Lastly, another great thing about Dr. Michael Campbell and Dr. Elisa Lobue Campbell is that Dr. Michael specializes in surgical dentistry and Dr. Elisa is very skilled in and specializes in cosmetic dentistry, which ultimately enables them to offer a broader scale of dental services and provide advice from both sides. Plaza Dentistry is the best dentist office I've ever visited, but I am always apprehensive before each appointment I have. Not because of pain, not because of discomfort, but solely for the mere fact that I am always embarrassed by the state of my teeth at every visit. I would compare it to my embarrassment when my grandmother admonishes me for gaining weight. But, just as my grandmother's criticism is always accompanied by a delicious dessert, the icing on the cake here is Plaza Dentistry's care and attention-to-detail for each patient. I believe that dentistry is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and fortunately, coming to Plaza Dentistry is as painless as the dental work itself. The Dr. Campbells (it would be very easy if there was a "Mr." and "Mrs." in doctor form) are an awesome husband-and-wife tandem in so many ways. Nothing stands out more than having their personalized visits though! Their hygienists are professional, expertly trained, and friendly, but both Dr. Campbells have visited with me and evaluated me even after some of the most routine check-ups. I've had to get dental work at other dentists before, and it felt so odd not being visited by the doctor whose name was on the office! It might not be established practice, but having had personal visits from both Dr. Campbells, I really feel comfortable at Plaza Dentistry. Lastly, Plaza Dentistry always seems to have the most state-of-the-art technology. I make biannual visits, and each time there is a new piece of equipment or a new x-ray machine that looks like some futuristic contraption from Minority Report. I like seeing my dentist continually improve itself while maintaining awesome dental standards and making sure I don't let my teeth turn green. OC Plaza Dentistry was a five star find! The doctors are extremely thorough and very informative. They explained to me what they were doing and why they were doing it. Dr. LoBue-Campbell did my fillings 6 months ago. The procedure was near painless and she made sure I was comfortable the whole way through. To this day the fillings are holding up and they blend in with my natural tooth color! I went in for a cleaning today during my lunch break and they were very considerate and took this to mind when they were doing my cleaning (thorough, but efficient). Their office is centrally located with tons of parking. Additionally, they are totally with the times. They send out reminder cards, text messages, and even Outlook appointment invitations so you can add it on your calender! I would highly recommend OC Plaza Dentistry. I just moved to Orange County from Seattle and was in the search for a new dentist with years of experience in the field. My first visit to OC Plaza Dentistry was just a few days ago with Dr. Elisa Campbell and I highly recommend if you want the most thorough and in-depth look at your oral health. {The Receptionist} - After filling out to online application the receptionist called me within a few days to schedule a new patient appointment. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful and worked with me on insurance and my limited availability. {Insurance} - Just a heads up if your insurance is Delta Dental you will be considered out-of-network but will still be able to visit OC Plaza Dentistry if you choose to do the work-around. Basically what you have to do is pay for the visit upfront, then OC Plaza Dentistry files all the paperwork/claim for you to Delta Dental and you receive a check from the insurance company within a few weeks. Overall this was a bit of a hassle, but not a deal breaker if you know what you are getting into. {The Cleaning & X-rays} - First thing they do for new patients (if you have not had X-rays in the past 2 years) is a full mouth - 18 set X-ray that takes about 30 minutes. After that comes the consultation and more pictures. The dental hygienist will take pictures of each individual tooth and then a picture of your smile before the cleaning and afterwards. Overall the cleaning and consultation with Dr. Elisa Campbell was one of the best I have ever had and very pleased. I have definitely found my dentist here in OC! read more

This was my first time visiting a dentist in the US and was extremely impressed with the service from the moment I arrived til the end of my 2 hour appointment. Dr Campbell is very knowledgeable and actually explains everything that is being done and why. She is a good marketing dentist and recommends lots of vitamins, specialist mouthwashes etc but I didn't feel pushed to purchase anything which is great. I sought a new dentist for a long time. Always hesitant to try somewhere new as I know how much work I need done. Went in for a consultation and a cleaning as a new patient. This place was highly recommended by a coworker who has been coming here for years. It was a quick check in as I had been instructed to fill out the paperwork on line prior to my appointment. Then it was time for my x-rays. I've never been a fan of the plate x-rays as they always seem to hurt no matter how comfortably they place it in your mouth (my prior dentist had the scan where you just stand there and the x-ray machine moves at 180 degrees, never even touches you). But Hong(?) was very pleasant and nice. Dr. Elisa LoBue-Campbell performed my cleaning. The process was slightly painful do the the sensitivity of my teeth, but nothing she had done wrong. She was very helpful and patient with me. She had to educate me on what my options were for the posts/crowns/extractions that need to be done. It was a lot of information and a little overwhelming, but she always maintained professional and made me feel at ease. So far I am a fan! I have a scheduled appointment with the Mr. Dr. Campbell this month. I will update a review after that visit. read more

I came here on recommendation from a friend as I was looking for a new dentist in the area.... I have to say that off the bat, I had a welcoming experience. I went in the morning as one of the first appointments and ran into the tail end of their weekly staff meetings...I was told by the x-ray technician Han (?) That they have weekly AM staff meetings and sometimes daily, which is great! And, also that she has been working with the doctors for almost 30 years! I would have to say that that is a great retention rate! All the staff was really friendly and introduced themselves to me....as a new patient, we had a full review with X-rays, periodontal measurements and cleaning. Terry was my dental hygienist and she was very personable.... Dr. LoBue-Campbell was very professional and friendly. She had just gone to a Wellness seminar and took some time to educate me about dental health....although the dentist did not spend most of my visit with me, the office is run pretty smoothly and the visit flowed well. The staff is educated well so that by the time the dentist arrives, we have received much of the information and plan of care. But the dentist did review and go over all the initial measurements and films with me....if I were going in for another treatment besides a cleaning and first visit, the flow may have been different. And, in addition, Dr. LoBue-Campbell and her husband just helped open the University of Pacific dental school up in San Francisco! Now even lower income families can get access to dental care at the school's clinic! Kudos to them! But overall, clean, great and well run office! Friendly and educated staff! Honestly, I usually hate going to the dentist. I just have have a ton of issues with my teeth and dread going. Even when using local anesthetic, I felt like I was still in a lot of pain at any other dentist. NOT HERE!!! They are so professional and know exactly what they're doing. No pain, ever! And they have individual tv's that you can watch movies while they do their work. Amazing!!! Teresa, the hygienist is also great. I love Dr. Lobue-Campbell!!!! I have been going to Dr. Campbell for over 15yrs! I moved to San Diego about 10yrs ago and tried out a few different dentists but no one came close to her experience, cleanliness and results. So I opted to drive back to OC whenever I need to get something done to my teeth. I have never had braces but my teeth were so small that I ended up getting veneers. I started with 6 veneers and prayed for the best. Dr Campbell was amazing! She's an artist and very particular so she made sure to provide me with veneers that would work perfectly with my face. I loved them so much that I came back 4yrs later for 4 more! They're perfect!!!! She really did take care of me! Your smile makes such a difference! I am an attorney so I communicate with clients and other attorneys every day, esp in Court! It's important to look great and feel confident! read more

As I was scrolling through my reviews, I noticed that the review I wrote over a several months ago never got posted (most likely through user error or computer glitch). I feel so passionate about my experiences that I am willing to re-write my entire review! I like so many people, have never been a fan of dental work. I buried my head in the sand and waited until the last minute (or year) to fix anything dental related. I had a tooth that was in need of a root canal that was going off for quite a while until finally the pain just became too unbearable - I had to go in to a dentist and dreaded the very thought. Looking back to that first day, I am grateful and ever so lucky to have chosen this dental office. Not only did Dr Lobue and Dr Campbell expedite to be able to fit me in right away, but the entire office treated me like family! I have always had trouble getting numb with other dentists so I was super nervous and very afraid of the whole process. My fear quickly left me once I was treated by the entire staff to sweet and gentle care. You can definitely tell they really care, which means so much these days to not feel like another number. Both Dr. LoBue and Dr. Campbell are the nicest and most skilled dentists that you will ever meet. They explain everything to you before they perform anything so you know exactly what to expect. They have been able to get me numb every time without fail. In the past, I literally would hyperventilate even before sitting in the chair before a dental appointment. Now with them, I actually look forward to going in and seeing everyone and getting my dental maintenance done! While I would follow Teresa the hygienist anywhere I felt the Doctor and the office manager (p) were only interested in my money. They charge for a lot of little things that most dentist do not charge for and push hard for in-house purchases of electric toothbrush and savings programs. The doctor was annoyed when I asked her to complete a task rather then have me come back another day because it extended into her lunch hour; even though I was very clear at the beginning of the appointment what my priority was. But none of this is as bad as the rudeness and inaccuracies of the office manager. (P) ruined my experience from the very beginning and I will not be going back. Neither is the friend who referred me in the first place. We both found a much better dentist; one who at least pretends to really care about the patients well-being and not just about their money. read more

From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I walked out, I was treated like a VIP. I just moved back to the area and needed to find a new dentist...my search is over. Thankfully a friend had been going here for a while and suggested I make an appointment. So glad I did! Not only is the staff super educated, professional and sweet, the dentist was a gem, treating me like I was a dear friend. I loved her through, detailed exam and passion for advances in dentistry as well as her thoughts on how our general care doctors and dentists should work together on our overall health. I have never had my PH tested before nor did I know the risks of not having a healthy PH in my mouth. I plan on having a long lasting relationship with this great team. Don't do it unless you're up for months of phone calls and headache from their completely incompetent administrative staff. Dentists were nice enough and service was fine. The front desk has no idea how or when we paid (we paid cash to be reimbursed by our insurance company later) and we've dealt with phone calls from them for MONTHS trying to get it sorted out. Each my husband and myself individually to boot. So, two times the calls. Sorry to say it because the dentists did seem professional, but our experience after we left the chair has made us never want to return. read more
