Here at Kumars in Apple Valley for their Sunday Buffet. If the owners are reading, You Need To Do Better! Service was really bad!! Arrived at 1230pm, offer me a seat but no water. Restaurant provides Sams Club water bottles. They didnt refill alot of the entrees on the line. The bread was refilled once, and the restaurant is pretty full of patrons. Their Chicken 65 was FINALLY refilled at 1pm! Supposedly its a very popular dish... It was empty when I arrived. Oh, but they have plenty of Biryani aka rice and vegetable dishes, just no meat dishes. Butter chicken tray you can see the bottom and its close to empty. Patrons are left eating rice and veggie dishes for now. Even the Mutton Rice entree, a quarter available when i arrived, is still not refilled. Its already 113pm. At 107pm, I finally received my first bottled water from an asian female! And another male waiter, the one who seated me initally, comes to ask me "how is everything sir?". Im gonna continue eating what I have brb....before I forget, my first two plates still haven't been taken and Im already sitting down eith my 3rd plate of food. Oh, Chicken Tandoor and Mutton Rice just refilled at 120pm. ‍‍ Mutton is very dry. Have yet to try their mango ice cream machine and then head out.

No fountain drinks, so be aware of that. Ambiance isn't too over the top, some decorations. Mon-Thurs are the value buffet, so only one table of things to try. Fri thru sun are a more premium price with twice as many options. I loved both masalas. The chicken that was simply labeled chicken was worth getting. I liked the orange colored wheat mango dessert dish. For a price of $11,99 I felt like I got a fair value, and it's a good introduction for people unfamiliar with Indian food. If they served iced fountain drinks I would have given 5 stars

Everything was delicious! Lots of traditional South Indian dishes in the buffet which I liked. Some of the options offered was mutton kolambu, fish kolambu, chicken chops masala, dum biryani, chicken 65, sambar, avial, chicken tikka, paneer tikka masala, pomfret fry, and even a pani puri/dahi puri station. Everything was delicious and spicy. Lots of options for both veg and non veg. For dessert there was paysam, gulab jamun, mango cake, and mango and vanilla soft serve. Mango soft serve was so good, I kept coming back for more. If you don't want to do the buffet my mom and sister split a non veg thali which had several small portions of their curries, rice dishes and desserts. It typically gives free refills as well but since they were sharing, no refills are given, but it's big enough that we ended up taking some back for leftovers. Everything would get restocked quickly in the buffet if something ran out, and service was great. I would definitely come back!

I came for lunch but was absolutely going to order off the menu - why you ask? Because they have an item that can take me through time. You see my grandmother would make what we call gunthapunganum, orbs of fried batter. These were incredibly tasty and she made them as a celebration or pick me up when I was a kid. The batter is not something that you can just make up, you need to plan a couple days ahead (at least that's how I remember it). I have asked for this at restaurants wherever I travel the US and have NEVER found a place that makes them. Now that my grandmother has passed it has been over 30 years since I've eaten these... I heard that Kumars has them on their menu, and I am NOT disappointed! They have them and they taste wonderful. This restaurant is different and we should judge it differently. This is a time travelling ship and not a restaurant. This will take you back to your grandmothers kitchen, where she will make you feel seen, and validated and able to do anything.

Went for the weekend buffet, it was great. Lots of options, actually the biggest Indian buffet I've ever seen. They even had an ice cream machine serving vanilla and mango ice cream, masala chai and a puri puri station. Great option in the metro.

Buffet was good with decent options. The restaurant was not very crowded for a Sunday afternoon, so I felt good. Ambience was so-so, nothing great to talk about but the place was clean.

Food was good especially the egg varieties with crabs and prawns. Could have been better on the biriyani quantity. Overall a must try to this place.

Possibly my new go to for Indian buffet; I'm already planning on taking the husband soon. Such a great variety of meat and vegetarian dishes. My favorite was the eggplant. The tandoori chicken was so succulent. Be prepared for bones cause this is real food and it's not going to be all boneless beauties. They had mutton, chicken, chickpea, eggplant, fish, SO MANY OPTIONS. Made to order pancakes (a bit sour, perhaps some yeast or fermented batter?) and pani puri (I recommend the "sweet" version with the yogurt sauce as it has a wonderful creaminess). They have mango and vanilla soft serve and you can get fresh sugar cane juice at an additional price. I initially made a reservation off of yelp but it was not necessary, at least not for now. Could be needed in the near future as business picks up. The place looked clean but the tables were wobbly because the top might be too heavy for the table legs. We took a few mins to select a table that wasn't completely wobbly. We arrived promptly at opening and they weren't completely ready yet but we didn't mind. Staff kindly notified us when they were nearly all set up. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I didn't give the place a perfect 5 stars because I did order food to go for my husband but the dish was incredibly tiny for the cost. I'm used to Indian meals being smaller, in terms of American food size standards, so it's usually anticipated for me. But I had never seen a dish that small, it was comparable to the ice cream dish I have pictured.

While there is technically plenty of parking, it was very busy on Friday night when I was swinging by to pick up my food. The restaurant is very simple, with a few booths for dining, which were mostly full, and there was a line of about 6 people waiting for takeout. It was exciting to see so much support for this space. The workers were fabulous: friendly and working diligently to maintain order and make sure everyone had what they needed! I ordered my basics, since it was my first time! Samosas, Garlic Naan, and Butter Chicken! The Samosas were crunchy on the outside, and filled with potatoes, peas, and spices! Perfectly dipped in the accompanying chutneys. Mint was bright and fresh, tamarind was sweet and tangy, just how I like it! Butter Chicken was quite a large serving, bursting with flavor and nuance, which is sometimes missing from takeout versions of this classic. Naan was a bit crisper than I usually like, but the perfect vehicle for the leftover butter chicken sauce. I'm already planning my next order! Check this place out for sure!

When we walked in, a young man greeted us from across the restaurant and asked if we were dining in. I said yes, and he told us to sit anywhere we liked. After we sat down, he brought over the menus and immediately asked if we were ready to order. I smiled and let him know we needed a little time since we had never been there before. We looked through the menu and decided to start with the chicken skewer and the crab rangoon. Both were delicious and full of flavor. For our meals, I ordered the chicken banh mi and my wife ordered the Bun Bo Hue. She loved her dish and I really enjoyed my sandwich. They also serve freshly squeezed lemonade, which was excellent. I actually ended up ordering two because it was that good. Service was pretty lackluster. The kid helping us looked like he might not even be in high school yet, so that might explain some of it. The restaurant itself is small and simple inside. Nothing amazing but nothing bad either. Overall, the visit was good. The service wasn't great, but the food made up for it. We would consider coming back if we happen to be in the area.

Some spots require you to order at the counter while others are full tableside service. It creates this strange in-between vibe where you're not totally sure what the flow is supposed to be. The menu is all over the place. You can order pizza, burgers, steaks, Mexican food, and even ice cream... all under the same roof. It ends up feeling more random than curated. The food itself was very average, nothing memorable, and for the prices they charge, the quality just doesn't match. Drinks were fine but nothing special. Service wasn't very friendly either, which didn't help the already awkward setup. The positives: there's plenty of parking and they do have a patio, which is nice in good weather. Overall, it's a cool idea but the execution feels off. The food and service need a refresh, and the concept could be much stronger with clearer direction and better consistency.

First off, the parking lot on site is a huge plus-- rare and appreciated! The venue itself is absolutely stunning. It's spacious, beautifully designed, and offering much more than I expected. There's definitely a lot going on here, which is exciting... but also a bit confusing, especially for a first-time visitor. When we arrived, we weren't quite sure how the ordering process worked. There was a self-service kiosk that didn't seem functional, and no one was stationed at the front registers. We waited about 10 minutes before I approached someone behind the coffee bar to ask for help. Eventually, someone came over to assist, but unfortunately several staff in the kitchen saw us standing there and didn't acknowledge us, which felt disappointing. Once we finally got help, we placed our order at the counter and were given a number. When the order is ready, someone brings it out to you. Now, the coffee and food were excellent, which helped redeem the experience: * I had the Absolutely Alice iced coffee and was pleasantly surprised by how well-balanced it was. I was worried the butterscotch might make it too sweet, but it was perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. I truly tried to savor every last drop. * I also got a chocolate chip cookie, which was large, soft, chewy, and flavorful. Bonus: it was a steal price-wise. Despite the initial confusion and lack of front-end support, I'd definitely love to come back. There's so much potential here, and the space itself is gorgeous, especially the patio area which looked stunning. Suggestion: It would be super helpful to have a host or someone consistently present at the front to greet guests, answer questions, and streamline the ordering process especially for first-time visitors like me.

After 10 minutes no one had come to the table... 15 minutes... still no one. No water, drinks or their complimentary chips. They weren't overly busy, so this didn't make sense to us. At minute 20 I got up to talk to a manger. The waitress saw me go up to the front and tried to wave me down to say "I got you." I'm sorry but 20 minutes in a restaurant that isn't packed is ridiculous. At the very least she could have brought water and said she would be with us soon, but she never acknowledged we were there. I spoke with the manager and noted that it had been 20 minutes with no one coming to our table. I told him i understood she had other tables but that we just hadn't even been acknowledged. He said "she doesn't have that many tables! Let's go!" He took our order on the spot! He brought us complimentary guacamole and horchata with our chips! That was a very nice gesture! I assured him we weren't out for freebies, we just wanted to order our food. He was very friendly and definitely took care of us! Our food came out very quickly and we were checked on multiple times. He definitely turned what was a very negative experience around! The vibes here are really great! The patio was so nice! It was well maintained and clean! The food: I got the pulpo (octopus) tacos! They had a tropical and buttery flavor to them! I opted to take the picked onion off mine but I'm sure that's tasty as well! The chips had a nice crisp and saltiness to them and the salad was one of the best complimentary ones we have tried! Tip: don't get the dessert at the restaurant, grab it to go from the bodega! It's about $4-$5 cheaper!
