TL;DR 3.5 stars. I wish they would keep on top of the maintenance of the cars better so that when they are sold, we'd know they were in great, drivable condition. Definitely takes the experience down a notch having to do all the repairs after the fact (not to mention how much time and gas money I spent driving back and forth from here), but the initial selling process and the fact that they stood behind their product and did the repairs after was great. ---- Never been here before but they had a vehicle I was interested in, so figured why not give it a try. I like the values they say they stand behind: faith, family and giving back. I said I was interested in a vehicle via cars.com and they got back to me within minutes giving me photos and videos of the car, it was very impressive. I called and asked some follow-up questions and the guy was very friendly and helpful and assured me the vehicle was in perfect working order and went through a rigorous inspection. I scheduled an appointment to meet with them, and they had it all ready for me to check out when I got there. I worked with Stephany who was friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't pressure me one bit. Very easy-going process overall and the pricing was fair as well. Halfway through I wanted to see if the dvd player worked and the manager of this location came out and gave me one of his own dvds so we could try it out, so that was super great customer service. Unfortunately they brought the car out to me after I paid for everything and the check engine light was on, and the brakes were very bad and possibly dangerous at high speeds (didn't find this out till I drove it home). They sent me home because the service department was closed, so a few days later I had to drive another 1.5 hours to bring it back into the shop, and the associate that was meeting me there was almost an hour late from our agreed upon meeting time. I had our little kids with us so it was not a fun experience waiting that long trying to keep them out of trouble. Eventually they fixed the check engine light issue but I had to come back (another 1.5 hours) because the brakes were still bad. I was told to drive it at least 500 miles because the problem could be because the car was sitting so long on the lot, and needed some time being driven. I was confident that was not the issue, and I didn't want to take a 4th trip out here, but I talked with Cody in the service department (who was a pleasure to work with) and he said he'd send a driver to pickup the car if we still needed a fix at the end of 500 miles. Sure enough, the brakes were still bad so a driver came, picked up the car, fixed it, and drove it back to our house. So all in all, it was about 2 months from the time of buying the car until it was all fixed. Bought a care here 4 months ago and there was a ding in the windshield. As part of the agreement when I bought the car they were going to replace it as Stephen, the sale manager said it was a "safety issue". It is still not fixed. Everytime I call to ask about it I am told they will look into it and call me back. They NEVER call back. read more

Called 5:30pm Friday to inquire about a specific car. Sent paperwork to start loan process, got a call back at 6:15 by Tyler Randall and Steve Smith. We started working out numbers, Steve then claimed the dealership closed at 6 even though the site said 7. I felt that was an intentional lie to get me to agree because I was making them stay late. We agreed to a time and price. At 8am the next morning I received a text confirming our appointment at 9am, I responded yes I would be there. I got a call at 8:40 while i was already in Sycamore saying the car had been sold. I drove nearly an hour to get to the dealership only to find out the car Iwanted​ had been "sold" overnight after I agreed to a deal, after they were closed for the night, before they opened in the morning. Shady practices and I don't think they ever had the car at this point. read more

My original review seems to have been misplaced by Yelp, but I saved it in case it disappeared. This happened soon after it switched from Bemis to Kunes. This place used to be Brian Bemis and those guys were awesome. I've been taking my truck there for years and they've always been fair and did good work. This last time I took my truck there I found out it was Kunes, none of the guys that worked there before, who knew me by name, knew my truck, worked there anymore. They also lost all my 5 years of history. I talked to Shane who said he would waive the diag fee since they lost all my history and had to recheck the truck. They called me and gave me absolutely ridiculous prices for the parts and repairs, twice what the previous quotes were. I told them to just give me the truck back, and since I wasn't available my wife went to pick it up. When she got home she told me they charged her $180 to get the truck back. I called back, talked to Shane, and he said he never told me he'd waive the diag. He also told me he had my history but didn't seem to know what work I had done when I asked him about it. I'm taking my truck, car, and my family's vehicles, elsewhere from now on, and I will tell everyone I know not to bring their vehicles to this place. Is 1/2 or no star an option? Need recall, spoke with Max a week prior, called for appointment. He says, "anytime this week" I said great but I only want the one recall he says oh you need to wait till next week. How about NO! You said "anytime this week". Nope, talks out a** Max wanted ALL the recall $ or none. My vehicle requires and needs oil change for one recall and Max simply does not want to EARN $ he wants it handed to him for extremely no effort. The reviews saying one star here I believe. It's a shame the area has been infiltrated by an organization with such ridiculously poor business practices. read more

Started out great then went boom! A week after I signed the contracts and left with the car, I get a call from KUNES that they need copies of my social security cards. I tell them, "well, I'm not in the state and won't be back for another two weeks, I'll get it to you when I get back." There response, "we need it now so we can finalize the loan, can someone go to your house and take a photo of your social security card and then you can email it to us?" My answer "No. I don't have anyone to do that and I'm not comfortable with that option. Why was this not taken care of when I was there? If you forgot to do it, why did you wait a whole week later?" So because of there major screw-up, I had to spend 24hrs driving back to their dealership from my vacation so that they could get a copy of my social security card. I didn't get an apology, I didn't get shit from them. They essentially doubled my down payment on the truck because of gas and a hotel stay needed to just get back. Then I still had to turn around and head back to my vacation. Disgusting how they mucked this up. Disgusting that they were just ok with what they did to me and the struggle they put on me to get them what they needed because they screwed up. read more

I would NOT recommend taking your vehicle here to get worked on!! I had originally brought my truck to them to track down a wiring issue that I believed was messing with my radio and taillights/headlights/turn signals/fog lights as well as replace the fuel pump. I was told that everything was done and was fixed and that I could come pick it up. When I got there to pick it up, there were wires hanging down by my tire from the wire that they had fixed and my headlight access panel was left hanging down. When I pointed it out to them they zip tied it up to the frame and put a plastic clip that didn't fit in the panel to hold it up for the time being. Later when I went to switch out my headlights for the new ones, I noticed that the safety clip for my plug in to my driver side headlight was broken and my passenger side bottom adjuster for my headlight was completely missing. When I had asked them about it, they denied even seeing the bottom adjuster and said that they couldn't remember if the safety clip was there or not. After getting it, I went to put gas in the truck and it would not let the gas pump at normal speed without shutting off right away. I had to hold the fuel pump nozzle as slow as it would go in order to get gas. I then called them again to get the truck in to get it fixed. They said that it was not their fault and that it was something with the tank itself even though it happened during the time it was in the shop when they replaced the fuel pump. They said that I would have to either cover the cost of a used tank for $300 or a new tank for $1,100 even though it wasn't my fault. After broken parts and missing parts from their work and them not wanting to replace the fuel tank that is now broken due to the fuel pump replacement, I would not recommend them for any repairs and will not be going back after I get this figured out. read more
