I love Kung Fu Tea. They greet you as you walk in and they also have a self check out available in case the employees are busy making drinks. There's plenty of seats and parking. They also have a clean bathroom. I always switch my drink between a WOW or the Tea with salty cheese on top. Their bobas are always yummy and squishy. read more

The young male Hispanic employee who helped me was very rude and seemed uninterested in providing good customer service he was on his phone while taking my order and seemed like he was annoyed I was even there. There aren't that many boba spots in Rancho San Diego so I am happy they opened a Kung Fu Tea here! We visited on a weekend, and had very quick service. The place has a few tables and games, and is very spacious and clean. KFT's drinks are yummy and boba is soft and sweet. I will say their drinks are always SUPER sweet. If you have a sweet tooth, it's perfect, but I usually like my drinks to be not as sweet. I think for me, I would have to order items at the lowest sugar level (0% or 30%). On my last visit, I got the strawberry milk slush at 30% sugar, and it was a touch too sweet for me, BUT still quite delicious. updating my review after a particularly poor experience :(( i walked in behind two customers and noticed new employees on the floor- they received their drink quickly but i and two other people waited about 20 minutes to get our drink. even someone who ordered after us got their drink before us. unfortunately they were kind of messing around. i was in a bit of a time crunch so i was extremely disappointed at the time it took to receive a regular cup of tea (not milk tea). with three or four employees i would expect at least faster service. read more

3.5 This place is basically the fast food of boba places, it's still just as expensive, but has the added bonus of being fast and (sometimes) convenient. The ingredients are pretty junky, the only things that make it taste good are the mountains of sugar they pile on (I guess it works). The boba itself is flavorless, and the workers don't really hate nor like you. DO NOT get any drink that has milk in its name, it means that all the drink is was milk, sugar, and flavorings (strawberry flavoring for strawberry milk tea etc...). This place is very trendy, expect teenagers and whatnot. They do offer free board games and Wi-Fi. This place allows a ton of customization, and they even have oat milk and lactose free milk substitutes (and show what drinks don't have caffeine on the menu). The fruit teas are decent, but you should mostly go here for their milk strike series. There's another place ~2 minutes away from here called Vanitea, that uses fresh and higher quality ingredients, bigger portions, all for almost half the price as this place, go there instead. read more

Another Kung Fu Tea location right here in Rancho Towne Center which is kinda far away, but it's here within the radius of all other stores, turns out it was convenient to get some boba tea originally from New York. Definitely cheaper price for a large size plus boba added for 75 cents. Though the taste still not strong enough for tea, I need them to step up their game a little bit, this chains do have a rewards program so be sure to sign up and earn points for your drink. Walked in after seeing the $4 Punch special on their window. It said the special was available from "opening until 3 p.m." and because we just so happened to be in the area after lunch, it sounded like a perfect post lunch option. The inside is nicely decorated with wall murals to allow for the perfect instagram post! ;-) We ordered the Passion Fruit Green Tea and the Guava Punch- added some mango popping bubbles for an xtra $0.95 per drink and they were very generous with the scoop so it was worth it. The Guava was very much a lot on the sweet side but the passion fruit tea was a bit less sweet and I enjoyed the green tea taste in it. At $4 for these large-sized drinks, it was worth every penny! I normally go or a regular black milk tea or the brown sugar milk tea, but this time around I went for the Coconut Milk Tea, which was a first for me. After I ordered the milk tea, I waited for about 20 minutes, but when I approached the counter, apparently someone had walked off with it, so they had to make me another. The coconut milk tea was good. The coconut flavor was definitely up front and center. It was not as milky as I would of liked or have had from them in the past. Nevertheless, it was a tasty beverage. I like the boba, but similarly to what another review about this place said, the ingredients aren't the best and the taste is just okay. The ambiance is nice. What really irks me about this particular store is the inconsistency of service. Sometimes when I am here, I get really kind, professional service. Other times, though, the store has the most unbelievably petty and passive-aggressive people working behind the counter. There has been multiple occasions where I place an order for pickup, and upon arrival, a worker or multiple workers can be heard loudly talking smack about me or other customers in the store. The consistent culprits I've seen doing this are a darker-skinned, younger Asian male and a heavier Hispanic male with a patchy beard. On one occasion, the Asian male could be obviously heard judging how a woman in the store looked. On another occasion (on the day of this review), the same man loudly complained about me using my name for my pickup order as I left the store. I think some retraining is in order--at least have your workers have customers feel welcome and safe to make up for the lack of quality in the drinks' ingredients. Hell, I'd also rather the workers have the balls to be confront their customers directly instead of being petty and passive-aggressive lmao. read more

This was my first time trying this place. I ordered the matcha slush with brown sugar boba, and it tasted really good at first. But about two hours later, I started getting bad stomach cramps and ended up throwing up the entire drink. After I threw up, I immediately felt better, which makes me think something in the drink didn't sit right or may have been off. I usually handle any milk/coffee/matcha drinks totally fine (I work at a coffee shop), so this reaction was really unexpected. I'm basically a purist when it comes to tea (iced or hot) and had no idea what the majority of the menu was as it had many different flavors of milk teas, milk caps, milk strikes, punches, etc., along with many different topping options. I ordered a Sunshine Pineapple Tea Punch as it sounded refreshing. It was a watered-down tea mixed with lots of pineapple juice (or maybe just sugar) and crushed pineapple, and was more sweet than refreshing. The staff are all young and friendly. Lovely little place!! Lots of selections! From milk teas, different fruit drinks, slush drinks and you can choose your drink hot or cold with many different add ons! I wanted a Thai tea but they were out and told me that black milk tea was like thai tea- I was fooled for sure I should have known better. It certainly tasted like black tea with milk and not anything like thai tea. We also ordered a coconut milk tea which was REALLY GOOD, and a strawberry milk slush which was also delicious!
