Was out and about with my daughters and happened upon this Kung Fu tea location and decided to check it out. It's in a shopping area with lots of parking. This was my first time at a Kung Fu Tea shop. The inside was nice with a limited amount of seating. The drink menu was extensive plus there were additional flavors posted all over with additional flavors. I ordered Taro Slushs + Purple Yam (Ube) and Boba for the girls and a Kung Fu Milk Tea for myself. I usually don't use the kiosk for ordering but I did this time. Well I should have stuck to my routine of not using the kiosk because I accidentally ordered one Taro Slush with a double helping of Ube and a double helping of Boba. Well the nice folks there remade the drink for me though it was my mistake. The girls loved their drinks. This was the first time having ube in their drinks and they really liked it. Love Kung Fu tea, I was so devastated when they shut down during the lock down! They are back with new hours from 12pm-7pm every day. You must wear a mask to enter and only two people are allowed in the store at one time. You can also order through the Kung Fu app to save time. Loved it. Bubble tea just so happens to be my newest obsession. I've driven by Kung Fu Team a million times and after being in the Gambrills area yesterday, I finally decided to stop. I played it safe and got an Oreo Milk Creme tea which I liked but didn't love, but that's not an indication on the service I received as much as it was a choice on my end. That said, they were set up for social distancing, and had the proper precautions in place. Service was just ok. Kung Fu Tea is the only place where I can order it with no sweet and still enjoy if. My hunch (unproven) is that they somehow soak their boba in honey which provides just enough sweet for the tea. (I soak my boba in honey at home when I make it, ergo my hunch).., at any rate, both kids prefer Kung Fu Tea and once I got over the frustration of adding yet another app to my overloaded phone, I found that ordering and paying are quite simple. I'm still fairly new to the bubble tea game so I'm still experimenting and seeing what I like best. I'm a tea person over coffee any day so Kung Fu Tea is a great place to grab some refreshment. So far I've tried the Taro Milk Tea with bubbles and the Mango Green Tea with mango jelly. So far, the Mango Tea is my favorite. The staff I've encountered are nice and willing to answer your questions. They have what appears to be a dessert case but no desserts :-( I look forward to trying some more flavors. read more

I ordered the Milk Green Tea; bubbles, reg sugar, less ice. Yum. Although, im not a super fan of the bubbles. They taste pretty bland to me. For my Honey Boo, I ordered the mango slush. I've been to other Kung fu teas but they weren't as good at this location. The tea flavor really shined through the creaminess of the milk tea. The boba was also warm and tasted delicious. Wintermelon milk tea was very good too. If you like salty and sweet deserts try adding the milk cap. My sister added it to her jasmine mango green tea and said it tasted great. Ok it's not even officially open yet but you could not even tell with the quick service and tasty drinks being served up. The official opening is 7 July but during this occasion I went KFT was doing a soft opening. Most of their popular drinks were available but their full menu will be available soon. The only hiccup was that my first tea did not have bubbles in it but the staff appreciated the feedback and were quick to remedy the small mistake. I usually get the same drinks, but sometimes I don't know if it's because I get the bottom of the syrup bottle or they don't mix the bottles before pumping from them, because my passion fruit tea will taste less like passion fruit and more like the leftover binder of the syrup. It's happened on more than two occasions, so I normally go with the Oolong peach just to be safe since it's the peach jam that flavors the drink, and that's usually consistent. read more

I'm amazed at how much I loved Kung Fu. Ive tried bubbles tea before from another place. It was syrupy sweet and I did not like the tapioca balls. So I probably was not going to even try Kung Fu. Update #2: I talked to a friend who used to frequent this location as well. She's also gotten some bad bubble teas recently (it's the bubbles). Hoping KFT-Gambrills will get their quality back up there. Knocked off a couple more stars because the last 3 bubble teas I got really were bad. Update: I've gotten three duds in a row in the last couple of months. By "duds", I mean the bubbles were way too chewy and were just kind of weird. There were some different size bubbles as well, or some were falling apart. I'm not sure. Blech. I was hoping the first dud was an anomaly. The second one also an anomaly? This was our go-to place, but since it's changed ownership, it has not been the same. Now the drinks are either flavorless, bitter, or the bubble are hard, and the servers are not friendly and the cups are sticky. We keep going back, hoping the new owners have figured it out.
