Good tea and slushes. I come here every so often with my wife. The tea is good and so are the slushes. This evening I was actually in the mood for a "Caribbean Way" smoothie and went the the nearby Smoothie King. I walked in the door at 8:45 pm and was refused service since they were about to close in 15 minutes. (Really?!). I walked across the parking lot to the Kung Fu Tea (who also closes at 9 PM) and got a "Caribbean Breeze" Slush. It was pretty tasty, as good if not better than the equivalent at Smoothie King. I should also mention their was a small line when I came into the store. At 9 pm they turned off the "Open" sign and locked the front door. Then they let us each out as we were served. You know, the way a business is supposed to work at closing time (Looking at you Smoothie King). Again, great drinks here always. read more

You can also download the app to place your order (I believe the sign on the door says to allow 20 mins for orders placed in the app but you can earn rewards by ordering through the app). This was my first trip to Kung Fu Tea and I had a few questions and the woman at the register was happy to assist me with placing my order and she was very kind. I've been drinking bubble tea since the only places you could get them were the sketchy, super-mininalist kiosks in the part of the mall no one ever went too. Nearly 20 years later, this franchise hits DC with a vengeance. I almost went to the busier Montgomery County locations but by sheer dumb luck found one 10 minutes from my home in Bowie. So many of my friends and family have had this bubble tea and even with all their rave reviews, I was skeptical. How could bubble tea be SO much better at this place that is basically Ten Ren's in College Park but over priced and hipstery? It just couldn't be. So I went today with my kids and my mom. It was EMPTY inside, which is almost unheard of in the Northern Virginia locations. I am so happy to be wrong. I ordered the Almond Milk Tea with bubbles while my mom got the green tea equivalent. It was perfectly creamy, refreshing, and surprisingly floral. My son had the Taro Smoothie and it had a great mouthfeel, something beyond creamy but not too heavy feeling. There's always seating and the attendants are so very nice. My personal favorites are honey milk tea and taro milk tea. I'm so happy to see this shop in waugh chapel! Kung Fu tea has been the only decent bubble tea shop I've found in this area. They have so many options to choose from from teas to the type of boba/jelly you can add to them. My personal favorite is the Peach Oolong Punch because it also adds chunks of peach to it and makes it especially delightful! This location is brand new so it's extremely clean! The chairs and couches are comfortable and they have game boards you can play, making this shop a great hangout spot. The employees are super friendly and will sometimes bring your tea right to you if you're sitting down as well. By far the best location I've been to yet! One star only because zero wasn't an option. I haven't been here and I won't go because they're liars. I called to see if they have non-dairy milk and the guy told me they have "milk powder". When I asked what was in it, he told me it is "like a veggie" and does not contain milk. I didn't believe him so I asked what the ingredients are and he told me that if come in, he can tell me. But you can't over the phone? So, I went to their website and it contains the same the milk protein that "non-dairy creamer" has. It's milk! I called back to tell him this and the manager answered. I told her that they can kill someone with a dairy allergy if they're presenting their milk powder as non-dairy. Her advice was only "if you don't like our drinks, don't order them". Don't worry.
