I love KFT. I was beyond excited when I found out it was coming to SA, stalking their social media pages like a creeper until it finally opened. My favorites here: winter melon milk green tea and the very berry green tea. I may venture off and try other drinks here and there, but I always go back to those 2. I feel like KFT is the Starbucks of boba tea. It's popping up everywhere. You expect the consistency no matter where you go (Dallas, Houston, Austin, Cali). This particular location has yet to master their tapioca though. I've been here at least 4 times since it opened and we've always had tough to chew tapioca, bland tapioca, or clumped/stuck together where we can't sip it through the straw. We've had bland or inconsistent (with other KFT) drinks here also. Let's just hope they get it right soon because when we do decide to drive to the other side of town for KFT, we would like to NOT be disappointed with our drinks. 4 stars because this particular location always messes up my order or drink somehow. My fiance and I had a Bananagrams gaming war here a night not too long ago. After coming from the hectic confines of a Costco warehouse, Kung Fu Tea was a perfect reprieve. I ordered a traditional milk tea with boba, and my partner ordered an orea slush. Both were perfectly done, and I might add that Kung Fu always does an excellent job with just the right consistency in boba chewiness. Yum! The ambience here is super laid back both with the clientele and the staff. I never felt pressured to order quickly, and it genuinely seems like people enjoy working here and with each other. Never a dull moment either with their epic board game library. There was not a group in sight who wasn't making use of a chess board or connect four if they weren't simply talking or on a laptop working. Excellent balance of people there for work, play or somewhere in between. The atmosphere feels quite chill for either. This is the spot to be for people needing a break from uber uptight workspaces or cafes geared towards children. Mature yet still a bit quirky - just my style. read more

Had the opportunity to try this place and ordered the taro milk tea with boba as well as the winter melon milk tea with boba. I took a sip of both and they tasted ok. Boba was hard, couldn't taste taro. However after a couple of sips of one of them I noticed a hair floating in the boba! Good thing I happened to look at the bottom to see how much boba was given (because some places skimp on boba). The top was sealed other than inserting the straw and my hair is tied up all day so I know it's not mine. Really gross. In the garbage they go! Not sure if I will be back. read more

While I have always loved boba, I just can't get into Kung Fu tea. While their boba is consistent and sweet and a good texture I've never found a drink here that I really enjoy. My go-to drink is usually thai milk tea, which they don't have :( I also love coconut milk teas and the ones here just taste a bit chalky and odd. I tried the matcha wow milk and once again, the matcha texture was very chalky and not smooth like I have had at coffee shops. However, regardless of the products, the customer service at this place is great! The cashiers are friendly and helpful. I've become a regular customer here. Hands down my favorite boba tea shop. Their Kung Fu milk tea is my go to, I enjoy how strong their teas are. Also they use milk powder which I enjoy since I'm lactose intolerant. I do feel like their taro milk tea is way too sweet, so if you like taro I recommend getting 50% sweetness. They are consistent which is a must. If you don't have the app I strongly recommend getting it, it saves me time and money. read more

Came here during pre-opening along with grand opening. Pre-opening took a while to get your drink due to the long lines. Grand opening was the weekend and by afternoon Sunday the line was average and took about 5-10 minutes to get a drink. This isn't a reflection on the place since some people were taking 5-10 to go orders. I always love the sweet boba that this cafe offers. It is solid, in line with other locations in Austin and Dallas. I'm so glad we finally have a place that serves good milk tea with boba. You will not be disappointed! I did notice that they didn't advertise that they do less sugar or customize the order. Stop by, you won't be disappointed. I've been to a few Kung Fu Tea and this location is my favorite so far. - Location: An exit away from the Rim, plenty of parking. The store is well decorated with simple designs and spacious front/outdoor seatings for nice days. The boba balls are legit - tastes fresh and are nice and chewy! I'm not a big boba drinker but, this was good! I have not been disappointed with the drinks here - The Almond milk tea and Wintermelon milk tea. My go to topping is the lychee jelly. The only downside is that for the milk teas, there is not really an option for less sugar... if you want less sugar, that means they will put less powder. I did not notice if there was less flavor. I don't really like the fact that some of the drinks are powdered base, but the way they mix it, I could not tell with the drinks I've had. And for the price, I'm okay with it. There is WiFi,board games and customer service is great a bunch of nice guys ready to serve you. So my go-to when it comes to bubble tea is Thai Tea, and I'm still hoping that Kung Fu adds that to their menu! However, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor tea that I did end up getting - the milk tea. Their boba is very fresh, which is a nice change from some of the stale boba at the other bubble tea places in the area. Something I found really neat was that you could adjust the sweetness and the amount of ice - which was really helpful for my friend who had a bit of a sore throat that day! I heard this place is a chain, and I'm glad they brought one to San Antonio! They are on the KFT app (finally-so happy) so I was able to order my drink which was ready within five minutes. One of my friends drove by KFT almost every day to check on its status as it was being constructed. I followed them religiously on social media to check for grand opening days. And now it has arrived. And I'm psyched! I think anyone who hasn't has KFT in other cities can't understand the cult following until they try their first tea. The flavors are just so unlike the other bubble teas offered in SA. My favorite is the taro milk tea with herbal jelly. I definitely recommend controlling the sugar level. I like 30% sugar. Even at 30%, the drink still tastes very sweet to me! I think the Kung Fu milk tea is also really good. I like this with custard but it also tastes great with bubbles. On the first day... the bubbles were a little hard. They are still in a soft opening so hopefully this gets ironed out soon. If I lived further away from KFT, I would still drive here if I have a craving for bubble tea. Right now, there is a 30% discount for all drinks in their soft opening. I'm Taiwanese so I'm pretty serious about my tea. I am absolutely thrilled that KFT has finally come to San Antonio. (San Antonio, this is how you know you've made it!) Drinks: I'm always someone who goes for a lighter drink so I don't feel like I've ingested 4000 calories at once: - Orange green tea - Passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly - Taro milk tea with boba if you want something sweeter I always get my drinks half sugar and less ice, because a lot of their drinks are too sweet for my taste. Service: Fast, quick, and easy. Can't ask for much else! You pay at the front and they'll call your name within a few minutes and you go pick up the drink from the side bar next to the cash register. Ambiance: They have a cute mug decor thing and plushy couches to lounge around and chill out. They've really done a lot to make the place look nice in an otherwise nondescript parking lot. The spike in temperature over the weekend caused a huge spike in my boba cravings and while I had never been to this KFT location before, KFT has a history of good boba in my book. I ordered something new because the hot weather made me want fresh flavors; the pineapple green tea was a fun, summery twist on boba, with juicy pineapple chunks that added an interesting crunch and a different texture besides the regular chewy tapioca. I appreciated the sweetness of the pearls, and I thought they were just the right softness. My bf got the milk tea with boba and it had a great balance of cream to tea, with a good black tea flavor. The only downside was that the drinks do seem to run on the sweet side here and I got a little bit of a tummyache afterwards; partially my fault for forgetting to order it "less sweet" but not all drinks have that option anyway. This is a great place to study and very close to the UTSA campus. I go here when I need to knock out some work, but it's too late in the evening for coffee. If you do come to work, bring headphones. The music can get a little loud at times. Kung fu is also a great place to hang out with friends. They have a ton of board games a friendly atmosphere, and good music. I also want to mention that they have a TON of outlets to plug in your devices. When I go, I usually get either the green, almond, taro, or honey milk tea and they are all very delicious and refreshing. My personal favorite would probably be the almond just because I am obsessed with almond flavor. There are a lot of options besides milk tea and it can be overwhelming, so looking at the menu ahead of time is helpful. I highly recommend Kung Fu Tea! read more

Really awesome customer service. The cashier Maria B. was really kind and friendly. She answered our questions with a smile and told us about their app to pay with. The only con was their bubble/tapioca was hard. I've had Kung fu before, but not at this location. This was my first time experiencing it. Probably because it wasn't fresh. It wasn't just my drink, but also in my girlfriend and friend's order as well. Tea itself is good. It doesn't taste chalky like some places and you can adjust the sweetness. They have a top ten chart that can help you choose if it's your first time there. Decorations are nice. And it's a good study spot with outlets along the walls. I would definitely come back. Kung Fu Tea is finally in San Antonio!!!!! Like I've said a million times on Yelp and to friends and family, KFT is my favorite tapioca chain in the US. They always do such a great job with their tapioca pearls; when done right, its slightly sweet with the perfect chewy texture. And their mlik tea is to die for! I always get their milk green tea at 50% sugar and less ice. It is creamy and refreshing and sweet and all sorts of perfection for the palette. Hands down, this is the best thing to have happened to the Asian food scene in SA! And for those who don't like the texture of boba, just try their slushies/smoothies/teas! So this is my third time going here within two weeks, so needless to say I've become a fan. I love the modern style interior of the place. The medium and large options they have available and all the different choices they have. I recommend the kungfu milk tea, rosehip and Thai tea. I like that their milk is non-dairy and the sweetness level isn't overwhelming either. I wish they had mentioned they had different ice levels but now I know for next time. I've only came here twice since it is a little out of the way for me, but so far the service has been delightful! I love milk tea and I'm always trying to see what separates each shop from the next it's really nice that they have so many mixes and combinations and the menu is easy to understand with out getting over whelmed with options. Last time I tried winter melon and it was amazing, I haven't seen that flavor at some closer tea shops near me so I was really excited to try it. And this time I stayed a little more on the safe side with a honey milk boba but I have to say the consistency in quality and in the boba was perfect both times. read more
