I've been coming to this auto licensing office for 8 years straight, and it was always great -- in and out in 7 minutes, friendly staff, no issues. That's the only reason I kept coming back. This visit completely destroyed that reputation. There were only three people sitting inside, yet I waited over an hour. Both women working there were rude to everyone, not just me. The attitude in the room was awful -- sighing, huffing, snapping at customers, zero professionalism. When it was finally my turn, the lady at the desk immediately told me she wouldn't be able to find my vehicle -- before she even touched the keyboard. Didn't click a single button. I handed her my driver's license and said, "Why don't you try?" Her response was just excuses: new system, this and that, more complaining, more attitude. It honestly looked like they didn't know how to use their own computers. I didn't catch her name, but I've never seen her there before -- and suddenly the last 10 bad reviews make perfect sense. The energy, the attitude, the complete lack of effort... it's all real. What used to be a smooth, pleasant experience is now a frustrating mess. I won't be coming back, and I can't recommend this place anymore. read more

Somehow I'd missed the reminder email from DOL that I needed to renew the tag for the custom license plate on my motorcycle. I got a letter from DOL stating that more than 45 days had passed since my tag expired, so I no longer "owned" my custom plate! OH NO! I showed up at Whitfield's Auto Licensing in Monroe at 09:00 the next morning. The nice lady at the counter got my custom license squared away, and 20 minutes later I was out the door with a new registration document and tag to put on my plate. Great service! read more

I went there to change my last name on my trailer and because my drivers licence ID address wasn't correct she told me to go to the dol and change it. So I did and they said it was updated in the dol system and the lady had just looked it up on her computer, she would've seen it was updated but she didn't so I wasted my time and Gass going from Monroe to redmond. Going to the dol in Woodinville because at least they have an ounce of common sense. read more

Um terrible customer service! Even after a DOL network outage not allowing customers to do any business with them we get charged late fees from no fault of our own having to wait to title a car. Not the only issue here, always some issue with purchases when you buy an old salvaged car to restore they try to charge you fully restored value....um what?!?! and they aren't nice about it, having two cars in two weeks told we could not title and had to go track down the previous owner for ridiculous things was a waste of time. The kind workers here make the mundane task of getting vehicles tabs fast and easy. Usually I renew on their website and just go up to the internet pick up counter, show my ID and I am my way. Today I had to transfer a title though and the pick a number system works well. I had transferred a title years ago and you used to have to stand in line and wait all while looking at a whole bunch of empty chairs lined up against the window. It's nice to sit down and wait for my number to be called. The moose head is cool too. The nice lady at the desk said that the owner's Grandpa shot it decades ago and the moose's name is Pete. The grandpa is actually featured in the mural painted on the back wall. I love rich family history like this, who knew a licensing office could be cool? read more

Tried charging me tax for the cost of the vehicle brand new when the vehicle was used. Waste of time coming to Whitfields as usual. Was told there was nothing I could do when their own guidelines show there was a price range to follow depending on the condition of the vehicle. My husband went to transfer a title and because his hand shakes when he writes, the lady wouldn't accept it. Told him to go and get a paper filled out by owner and come back. There was a little bit of a wait to get up to the counter, but once it was my and my husband's turn we had a great experience. We were ready to have a bad time. I mean... Any time you go to the dol or dmv it usually takes forever and the employees are anything but pleasant. The gentleman that assisted us was just that; a gentleman. He also had a sense of humor which helped a lot! We had three different situations that needed taken care of. It was no small feat especially since my husband really wanted something specific when I came to legalizing our three wheeler. Unfortunately we weren't able to get what we wanted, but the man we were working g with really went above and beyond to try to find a way to do it. After our three vehicles were finished my husband had some questions about some of his future projects and the employee didn't try to rush us out. Instead he listened and looked up as much information as he could to help us. So, to all those future Whitfield's customers. As long as the employees are treating you with respect, please do the same to them. These are good, friendly people that deal with a lot from their customers. Melanie 'the manager' needs customer service lessons. Her attitude and demeanor was completely inappropriate. After a VERY long wait, with no number system or ability to tell the order people need to be helped, I had the unfortunate luck of having to deal with Melanie. A form that had been completed and signed by the selling party of a vehicle sale was rejected by Melanie because of one little number on the sale price being smudged. It was 100% legible. This is a perfect example of a minimum wage employee having too much 'power'. read more

I knew it was going to be a challenge, but the people at Whitfields, specifically Chuck, made it as painless as possible. Chuck had to work with the state to accommodate my situation which took some time, but he followed up with multiple people at the state and contacted me when he received approval. Need to get tabs? This is the place. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and wait time is far less than the Kirkland or Woodinville agencies. Last time I was in there was a gal in training and I thought it was going to be painful but she was just as quick and knowledgeable as the others. They take cash, check and NOW Debit & Credit cards (for a small fee) or they have a cash machine inside (cash machine also has a fee). Overall out of all 3 locations I've been to, this by far the fastest location to get tabs by far! read more

I always use the internet order service so I avoid the wait lines, and just walk in and go to the 'internet orders' desk for immediate service. The ladies that work here were absolutely rude & at 4:33 a clerk left for break when they close at 5 and left another clerk and one in training who ended up not being able to help 5 other people in the waiting room, which I understand isn't her fault, but just very poor customer service from the clerks and very snooty attitudes. read more

Went to go transfer my title for my vehicle. Wait time was not bad, and the aesthetics were nice. My complaints are with the lady who helped us, who took a personal call on her cell phone right in the middle of our exchange, and then proceeded to tell us in great detail about her doctor's appointment and why she went to the doctor. My 18 year old son went to transfer a motorcycle into his name on the 13th day from purchase. This place did not like the "7" on 7/17/207. Said it looked like it was faked, also had bill of sale with same date on it. They made my son (scheduled to leave to Bahrain for the Navy in 2 days) have to contact send a form to get the previous owner to re-sign noting date was correct. Now I have to go back in and get in into his, oopps I guess my name now cause he is gone over sea's with a $80 penalty. They never gave him a pink extension slip to keep him out of "penalty" for doing the leg work, cause they Whitfields didn't like the "7". They know their work process, not an 18 year old kid. This place had the worst service and people not willing to accept the fact that they should have provided a work step they should know to a young man to keep him out of "trouble". The manager with glasses was horrible and the gal was rude and didn't see that they should have helped with the slip...that would have saved the penalties post 15 days to do the title. Avoid this place. Cost me$80 extra bucks to put a motorcycle in my name cause they screwed my kid by failing to be good at their jobs. read more
