Had take out from here a few times. Most things are good and taste OK. My big deal is the portions are very small, for everything, from appetizer too main meal. The price should be half of what is charged, considering the size and quantity you get. OK food, but priced way too high. Tonight, I got an appetizer and a main meal at a cost of some 35 combined $ and still hungry after eating it all. Taste and quality is fine, but far overpriced for quantity. I had coffee duck. 1st time there and 1st time I was not eating a really fatty duck but a delightful crunchy duck and only duck not spicey. I found my nirvana of duck at this little Tai resurant. I was in heaven. I am 66yo and best duck I Everhart. Eggplant ( which I don't) like until today. I also had tai coffee they serve with a cup of real mint tea leaves and all . Eventho I don't drink coffee at 5:30. I had to have another before we left. For the quality they cook, I have say I think their pricing is very fair. Wish I didn't live so far I would try everything at least once a week. Just DELICIOUS, even salad with dressing that looked like mustard but had no mustard was unbelievable!!! Can't wait to go back. Ordered pick-up, was excited to try this place. We ordered on Mother's Day and it was extremely busy. Staff very friendly but the food..... was not to good. Ordered garlic steak, vegetables were soggy. The meat tasted bland. The dish could have been a soup with the amount of broth water. Also ordered the JUMBO SHRIMP pad Thai. Shrimp was over cooked and the shrimp were tiny. Only 4 shrimp in the dish. The noodle was dry without much sauce. The sauce that I did taste in the dish tasted like vinegar and sugar. The last dish I ordered was the yellow curry chicken. That was complete garbage. They had to water down the sauce. Had no curry flavor at all. Between the reviews and the price I was expecting something decent. Not looking for authentic or something special. Just dishes made with care. We had a dinner at this restaurant this Saturday. The restaurant was dirty and the server was rushing to take the order. We had a Chicken Cashewnut, Grilled Beef, Siam Duck (We actually ordered Crab), Fried Calamari, Ko--nom-Jeeb, Connor Fried Chicken and Tom Yum soup (large). The soup had a funny smell and weird texture. Rest of the items were bland, raw and stale. Even though they served us rotten food and wrong item we chose to be nice and not argue about it. When we came out of the restaurant one of the Asian looking waiter (was not our server) approached to our car and threw racial slur at us and said not to go back to that restaurant because he didn't like the tips. My kids were scared like he will hit us. After spending $160 in stale food and wrong item and being nice to them my family had to go through this trauma at the end. Our server who was a different lady didn't say anything when I was paying the bill. After all of these I went inside to speak to the manager who was not present there and that male server gave me a fake number of his manager. The server said his name is Jack which I believe a lie too. How our family dinner turned into a horrific memory. read more

Kunya Siam is my favorite place to eat on 1st Ave in Atlantic Highlands. They have many of the classic Thai dishes, and all of them are delicious. The portion sizes are generous, I am always bringing some home for great lunch leftovers the next day. I don't why my expectations are so low for food in New Jersey, but places like Kunya Siam make me rethink my silly dispositions. The restaurant is warm, the staff so friendly, and the food absolutely delicious. My favorite is the pad see ew - the wide noodles are especially fresh and springy here, and when you want spicy, they will ask you how spicy, and only the brave should go Thai spicy - I mean, it's incredibly delicious, but also will have your mouth on fire the entire time, which can only be extinguished by copious amounts of Thai iced tea (which is on the sweeter side here). Curry puffs are flaky and amazing, and should be topped with the sweet cucumber vinegar side. The Siam duck is also delicious, arriving at the table in a beautiful platter - at the center an island of duck leg and sliced breast, surrounded by creamy red curry sauce. Recommend that you substitute the rice for wide noodles for a really amazing meal. Reservations recommended for the weekend - place was booked up solid last Friday night! read more

This restaurant is well known in Atlantic highlands since they are the only Thai restaurant nearby that's decent compared to the thai restaurants I've been in Nj. But nothing beats the Thai restaurants in LA since they have more exotic/traditional dishes, seafood and desserts . I would say the menu/food selection here is pretty safe or catered to American taste. It's also a little pricey. I recommend it for first timers especially if you never had thai food. I've probably tried 12-15 of their dish already since i work around the area. I do recommend their kee-mao beef, fried calamari, connor chicken, shrimp curry fried rice, curry dishes, fried snapper with tamarind sauce, and sticky rice with mango. read more

I started with the combination appetizer for one which consisted of one pak-mor, a spring roll, a shrimp roll, and vegetable dumpling. It also came with three flavorful sauces. My favorite was the pak-mor which was a steamed dumpling filled with chicken, peanut, shallot, and preserved radish and garlic. For my entree I ordered the Pad Kee-Mao with beef, and I also requested it with extra beef as I wanted some extra protein. I requested it spicy, and spicy it was! It was packed with authentic Thai flavor, and it came with fresh vegetables and tender beef. They can adjust any of the dishes to your preferred spice level. I already know what my next entree I'll be ordering on my next visit the Rama Peanut chicken dish. The woman next to me ordered it, and it looked delicious! She was raving how good it was. I finished my meal with the Taro Custard. It was very good, and it helped cool off my tongue from my Pad Kee-Mao dish. I thoroughly enjoyed everything here. One of the best Thai places I've been to! I've been a few times, but most recently we started with the curry puffs, spring rolls, and pak-mor. All were delicious but the curry puffs were by far everyone's favorite! For the entree I had the pad kra prow chicken. It was seriously the best I've ever had.
