Visited Asbury for a few days earlier this week and stumbled upon this studio while strolling around the neighborhood. Took a yoga class in the morning, a vinyasa class led by a very sweet instructor, I sadly can't recall her name. Came back later for a massage and it was really, really fantastic. I only wished it was longer. (And darnnit can't remember her name either...) Facilities are spotless, staff is friendly. Would definitely go back when I'm visiting the area, which I am often as my parents live in neighboring Ocean Township. read more

If I could give 6 stars, I'd ask to give 7. Kenny, a massage therapist here, is truly a rare find. He provides an intuitively accurate massage. With very little guidance, he found his way into my roped, knotted back muscles, and with just the right pressure and direction worked through them and across them in a way that my body readily accepted. If there was a doctorate degree in massage therapy, Kenny would be guiding the class. I will definitely return. The whole place is beautifully appointed, very comfortable, and very clean. We stopped in and asked about the massage rates (which are very reasonable), and decided to book a 60 minute deep tissue. The facilities are very high-end, and our massage was great. She was very good with her instructions, especially with those of us first timers with the yoga wall. Yoga wall by the way... Was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed an 'Unstress' facial with Pina! Her pacing of steps and tempo/pressure of the massage elements were sooo relaxing. I was not familiar with the Christina line, but oh! they smell divine and I loved the textures. Pina was knowledgeable about the things that interested me, and otherwise was simply, silently and methodically focused on my enjoyment (no annoying chit-chat). Every detail in this spa has been thoughtfully and holistically addressed -- the lighting, temperature, music, artwork/ambiance -- to complement the range of services. My day started with a haircut and shave where I normally go in Redbank followed by a 3 hour spa package at Kur which included a sea salt scrub, mud wrap, steam shower, hand and foot wrap, deep tissue massage and a facial. I booked myself a massage on my birthday, and it was the best decision! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted and drinking some delicious tea in no time. The environment is soothing in every way. I nearly lost my mind when I learned that the massage table was heated; I didn't even know that was a thing! The massage I had from Diana (Abhyanga) was incredible and I was relaxed almost instantly! Have you ever had your fingers or earlobes massaged? You don't know what you're missing! I am not a spa man but my wife made me go and I'm glad she did. The building is peaceful and covered in orange decor so it makes you motivated for your day. She also made me try a yoga class, again glad she did because I really enjoyed it. I didn't feel left behind even though others were obviously more advanced than me. I happened on this wellness center a few years ago when I booked an appointment to wait out a thunderstorm. Today I went back with a good friend for a much needed girls weekend and I will be visiting as often as I can. This place and the people here are wonderful! My therapist, Peter, has great intuition and focused on exactly the problems I was having. He was attentive to my specific needs (I was in a minor car accident on Thurs) and was very considerate. I have been a massage therapist for over 15 years and I get more massage than anyone I know and I am a very happy gal tonight. My friend also enjoyed her massage with Kate. I just had a 90 minute deep-tissue massage from Jeanine at Kur and LOVED IT! I had previously only experienced "Swedish Massages" for relaxation and stress but this time I opted for the Deep Tissue massage. WOW! As an old, mild-mannered gym rat, I try to make at least one class a day; Yoga, Body Pump, Zumba, something. Yet, I always felt my aches and pains were part of the process. Boy was I in for a treat. Jeanine rubbed all of my tight muscle areas plus gave special attention to a couple of spots in my lower back, shoulders and knee. I must be honest, all of this time I thought the numbness in my thigh had to do with my hip and lower back, yet thanks to Jeanine, I was able to pinpoint the source, MY KNEE. It was quite a revelation. She gave me tips on what was compressing my lower back as well as made notes on "trouble spot" areas for my next visit. She was attentive, full of information and explained what was "tight" and why. She respected my "massage silence" but after, took the time to answer all my questions and point out the areas she noticed were tight. She went above and beyond. Just amazing talent at Kur!! Oh, and it's a gorgeous facility too... from the lobby to the rooms. Clean, new and sterile yet without being cold or impersonal. It's still "warm". And the attention to detail in décor, treatment and customer service is over the top. No crowding, rush or clutter. Just enough attention without the smother and fuss. I will definitely be going back soon and look forward to any specials or sales in the future. (hint-hint) I suggest a "Rain Day" special for those washout beach days? Sure be a better option than boring board games and cabin fever with the in-laws. read more

I went for a Swedish Massage at Kur Wellness with two of my friends. When we walked in, we were greeted by Veronica, who was very friendly. I noticed that the studio smelled really good too. Tee was my message therapist. I could tell right away that she values her work and cares about the wellness of her clients. Although this is only my second massage and I don't have any problem areas, Tee made sure to ask me questions so that I could be comfortable and so that she could address anything that may have been bothering me during our time together. Tee led a guided meditation with a strong emphasis on breathing. She admits that it may not be for everyone, but I thought she was incredible. I could really feel the progress I was making during our session and attribute it to the extra effort that Tee put in with the meditation. I left feeling more at peace and a lot less tense! My two friends who were with me had Dave and Diana, and they had nothing but great things to say as well. I would highly recommend Kur if you're in the area. read more

Maura at Kur is the best, she is simply amazing and talented. I had a two hour treatment that included a facial, back facial and scalp massage. She added so many special touches such as a hot towel around my feet after massaging them while my mask dried to using special glass balls to treat my sinuses. I'd never been to Kur before and just can't say enough good things about it! First, there's the ambience: serene, spacious, ultra-modern, with bright touches of orange to add some spice.They're so high-tech, you can even choose the color of the soft light in your massage studio! Then there was the phenomenal massage itself: my masseuse, Jacklyn, was surprisingly experienced for someone who is obviously still so young. She was also kind, soft-spoken and extremely focused while massaging me, as if she were trying to read the map of my body through her fingertips. I particularly appreciated how quiet she was -- frankly, I'm quite tired of chatty massage therapists! Her silence allowed me to fully enjoy the beautiful recorded music that was softly piped into the studio, and to sink into the whole rapturous experience. I was also deeply impressed by the way Jacklyn came into the lobby afterward and taught me how to do a simple but very effective stretch for the weakest area of my body - -my lower back. It's clear to me that Kur takes very seriously the idea that massage is not a luxury but rather an integral part of everything we do to keep our mind, body and soul in balance.
