The atmosphere is of course old time feel with some black and white TV shows like Lassie, Lone Ranger, etc. And the place is clean. You order at the counter and the staff will deliver it to your table. Not sure what to order, the staff was fantastic and knowledgeable! I wish that this was in Richmond Virginia! Health Dept gave them "A" rating.

But we pressed on. Ordered the Kansas pork sandwich and the Mac & cheese burger. Add a side on tater tots and two drinks, cha-ching, 32 dollars and change. Better be outstanding at that price, alas it was not. Sticky floor continued into the dining area. Found the cleanest of the dirty tables and awaited our food. Burger arrive first, pork sandwich and tots arrived a few minutes later, guess kitchen struggles with multi-tasking. Burger showed no sign of any seasoning and was cooked to within an inch of its life. Pork on the sandwich tasted like it came from a can and was totally drowned in sauce. Tater tots barely warm and over cooked as well. On the plus side, the iced tea is pretty good. Maybe they were having a bad day, you may say. In food service, you can not afford to have a bad day. Management needs to take a really close look at the operation of this establishment. My shadow will never darken their doorstep again.

The first Cook Out restaurant opened in Greensboro, NC in 1989. They opened their first non-NC store in SC in 2010, and has continued to grow till now reaching over 360 locations around the South. All their ground beef is delivered fresh to each store, adhering to their motto of "Always Fresh, Never Frozen". We visited this location, in the heart of the tourist zone in Myrtle Beach. Only their drive-thru and walk-up are open, with their dining room continuing to be closed (though they have a few picnic tables in their parking lot). They are known for their burgers and milkshakes, a formula used by practically every successful burger shack. Their combo meals are called 'trays', so we got two regular trays. First ($7.99) consisted of a Big Dbl with grilled onions and cheese (+0.55), added tomato (+0.10). The sides were white cheddar bites (tasted similar to fried cheese curds) and fries (skin-on). I upgraded the beverage from a soda to a Oreo Mint Shake (+1.50). Added a side of hush puppies for $1.99. Second ($7.99) was 3 chicken strips, cole slaw, and onion rings with peanut butter fudge upgrade (+1.50). It didn't take too long for the order to completed, bringing it back to eat in our kitchenette back at the resort. It was plenty of food, with the burger being exactly how I like it. The shakes were very thick, and easily savable for later...we ate it like ice cream. All the rest were solid, with generous portions...it's what you would expect from any cafeteria that has a good deep fryer, very good for the price. The cole slaw was just finely diced cabbage which added some needed fiber to the meal. And the hush puppy pieces were very dense, two were plenty for me...it's the ultimate cheap filler food.

I asked about my missing sauces. She kept telling me they're in the bag. I had to tell her more than once they were not. When she realized I wasn't going to let it go, she reluctantly asked me what I needed. The deep sigh that accompanied her asking me what sauces I needed let me know she was aggravated. Next, I ordered a frozen strawberry passion fruit refresher. What got got was complete trash. It tasted like watered-down toilet water with a bunch of melted ice. I tasted neither flavor, and it wasn't frozen. I ordered the "cheese fries". The picture says enough. My biggest issue is paying for Angus Smaasher meat and received regular hamburger meat instead. This is the 6th time this has happened. I've complained to corporate 4 times already. I'll post pics of the "new pineapple heat smasher" with a regular cheeseburger patty placed on top for reference. See pics. At this point, they've done this so much that I'm certain I'm not the only one. At this point, that location is raking in the profit by doing this to people. Lastly, I ordered a new "red, white, blue" drink with extra strawberries. I paid extra. Do you think I got that either?!? No... I didn't. Again, see pics. At this point, I'm no longer going to spend money with this location. It's not worth it. I
