Kuroda Autobody was selected by my insurance company and I was very pleased with the body work that they did on my F150. My first estimate at another shop came out to $2300. I went on my own because the other party wanted to settle without insurance but changed their mind when the first estimate came out. Kuroda did the repairs for $1700. they were done in 2 days whereas the other shop told it would be 5 days. The shop was very professional and very efficient and I was super pleased with the quality and the quick turnover time. Would highly recommend Kuroda's. read more

Sent my truck in to repair a scrape on the rear door and body panel. 9 days later, I picked up my truck to find out that they ripped out my amp research powerstep lights without asking me. When I say ripped out, I don't mean uninstalled. They physically ripped out the lights from where it was installed. None of my window trim was installed correctly and they said that is how it was supposed to be installed. Only after contacting my insurance company did they agree to take a look at the window trim again to find out that they did a crappy job trying to install it. Talk about half ass. They already admitted to me that they ripped out the lights to speed up the bodywork and paint but said that they will not replace it. Bodywork and paint was ok. You can see a strong tape line of the area between paint and texture. They said "that's the only way to do it." Customer service there sucks, this s#it show business is not managed well. Do yourself a favor and take your car to Pearlridge fender and body. That is a well run business, inside and out. They treat you and your auto well. read more

I first contacted Kuroda Auto Body in January 2024 for an estimate on my car after being rear ended just before the new year. They were very helpful and informative. I was able to make an appointment to go in for the initial estimate, and then they sent a more thorough one within a week with the entire breakdown of charges and parts. Once we were able to place the down payment for the parts, we were able to get a date scheduled for drop off. There ended up being a lot of parts that needed fixing, so we were glad that they could get it done in a week. They kept us up to date the entire time, and we were truly happy with the job they did. "Airbag" - Radiohead. Being rear-ended is totally annoying because it really catches you off-guard; it's like someone coming up to you and smacking you on your butt with something really hard, like a board, or maybe a baseball bat. You have no idea it's coming. It's different than tail-gating someone and having to smash the brakes down to the floor to avoid an accident, because at least you know you were part of the accident. In the case of being rear-ended you're just sitting at a red light when a car crashes into your back end. We pulled over, exchanged information and the police had to come over to make a report. The driver was very apologetic and I was very understanding. Hey I get it, being totally inattentive, careless and negligent happens to all of us! Kuroda Auto was recommended to me by a co-worker and I lucked out that the insurance company of the accident-producer went through Kuroda. I got an appointment in about a month, they set up the rental car, had it delivered to the body shop, fixed my car in less than a week. Kuroda did a great job matching the paint and making my rear end look brand new again (lol get your mind out of the gutter). They even cleaned out my disgusting car that had pussy-willow branches and seeds scattered all over the back floor (don't ask), vacuumed out the trunk, made the car smell like an fancy airwick factory, polished up the rest of my car with clear-coat and put a paper mat down on the floor. Highly recommend Kuroda's for any repairs you may need to your car. My repairs may have seemed minor to others but it was a brand new car and most definitely was not my fault. Nevertheless, I had a great experience at Kuroda's. They called me the Friday prior to remind me of my appointment. And finally the day arrived. They texted me and kept me informed about the status updates which put my worries at ease. Initially my repair was estimated to take 3 days, but it was done earlier than expected which was great! A late weekday evening in 2021, a fat & furry pig that is now in heaven hit my car while I was driving in the middle lane of the H1 freeway going west bound. I have been going to them for more than 20 years. Not consecutively only whenever there is damage to my vehicles. The work is so good that you can't tell where the damage happened. They are professional and efficient. Initially you take your car for a thorough estimation. They order the parts and at the same time give you a time for you to bring your vehicle in to be repaired. Indeed I also am not the first to sing the many praises of the talents, professionalism, and value of Kuroda Autobody. As you peruse the totality of the previously submitted reviews as a collective, you cannot help but come away with an accurate sense of why having Kuroda experts perform body shop repair work on your personal vehicle makes enormous sense. In fact, even when analyzing costs per se, the question morphs to "why would you not want Kuroda to work on your vehicle?"... My case is one of personal stupidity, hubris, and trying to get somewhere faster than my car's inherent safety devices were designed to go. After doing some research I realized I would need to convince my insurance company to approve my selection of Kuroda for the repairs. It was much easier than I thought.... they agreed immediately since Kuroda is a licensed and certified repair shop for State Farm along with several other insurance firms. Brian was the lead who processed my claim in what we call in the engineering field "cradle-to-grave" mgt. A consummate professional, Brian was exemplary throughout the entire process: from initial intake, to parts ordering, to final notification. Cannot say enough great things about Brian and the Kuroda team. It should come as no surprise, that the name of the shop, and it's lineage through the annuals of excellence and service hail from their namesake, the late Robert Kuroda, CMOH recipient, and former 442 RCT veteran. Upon entering the office, you come face to face with a glass display case full of memorabilia on Mr Kuroda, to include his CMOH presented by the late President Regan. "Go fo' broke!" If all this still isn't enough, consider this final act of unmatched customer service: in my trunk, was a new in wrapper, vehicle inspection decal holder that mounts along side your plate (so you don't have to stick your inspection sticker direct on your rear bumper and ruin the paint. I had not had time to install it. However the Kuroda crew correctly surmised that my goal was to mount it, so they did it for me! How cool was that?! Just by going out of their way to do this extra bit of work, they cemented forever on my memory, the fact that Kuroda is the Only body shop I will every use, going forward. I took my BMW to Kuroda because they're an authorized repair center for Liberty Mutual. They're not conveniently located for me as I live in Kaneohe and work downtown but I'd heard good things about them. I thought my repair would be pretty simple as someone backed into my car and broke my RH headlight and created a few small dents but as it turned out there was hidden damage. The work was fantastic! I can't even tell that my car has been repaired; it looks like it did the day I picked it up from the dealer. The paint match is perfect! The place is large with enough space to park your car....in addition to the many cars that are already here being worked on. After reading Yelp reviews about auto body repairs, I chose Kuroda's. I'm glad I did. They were extremely professional from start to finish. The body work was top-top notch too. But get this...above and beyond! A little while after getting my car back, I noticed one of the roof "rails" on my CRV was missing. I really thought somebody had just stolen it but also wondered if maybe in the process of doing the body repairs maybe the rail was taken off. I meant to call and follow up about it but didn't get around to it today. I got a call from Robert Kuroda asking if perhaps one of my roof rails was missing. I was shocked! How they tracked me down after two months is beyond me, but they did. I headed straight over there and they popped it back in place in under 10 minutes. I am writing this review on behalf of my parents' recent experience with Kuroda Autobody as they've experienced outstanding service like no other. I've used Kuroda in the past and know of the excellent work they do but my parents wanted me to do a review for them so here it is... My mom recently had a fender bender accident and her bumper was damaged along with her license plate. She had gone to several shops before my dad finally stopped at Kuroda's for a quote. All previous places quoted my parents over $1,000 to fix the bumper, which seemed a bit high. When my father took the car into Kuroda, Robert (who I believe is the grandson of the company), assisted him and told my dad that he would take a look at the car. My father waited, not knowing what to expect and a little while later, Robert came out and told my dad he had fixed everything. He literally fixed everything on the spot and told my dad, "Happy Holidays!" When my dad came home to tell all of us, he was so touched by the service and kind gesture he received. Small business owners may have had a rough 2 years during the pandemic but the kindness and genuine "good heart" that Robert showed my dad is so very rare these days. What he did was so unexpected but so greatly appreciated and should not go unnoticed. I waited 2 weeks for an appointment estimate since this shop had excellent reviews. However it took nearly an hour to have the estimate completed. I already did two estimates prior from other shops & it took 10-20 minutes in comparison. To make things worse the estimator declined to do the repair (cash job & not insurance) or provide the estimate. I respect their decision to do any repair etc. however just be transparent from the start so you don't waste the customers or your own workers time. read more

Amazing customer service. I brought my old car here probably a decade ago and Kuroda did an amazing color match. I had two repairs afterwards and chose shops in town, closer to where I live. But the two different shops did a poor job of color matching and one of the shops didn't even put my bumper back together properly. Luckily I didn't get rear ended with the missing pieces. Suffice it to say, I wasn't going to bring my cars anywhere but Kuroda anymore. I got an initial quote online from Roland. Subsequently, my insurance's appraiser took a look at the car and came in lower in cost. Kuroda could work with it, so Roland had his office contact me to schedule the repair. Although they are very busy and book out a few weeks, they were flexible around my schedule. When I arrived for the repair, it was a breeze to check in and they even called Enterprise to pick me up for my car rental. During the repair, they kept me updated on the repair with daily emails, which were appreciated. Picking up was also easy, and the repair looked great! Exactly what you want - like nothing even happened to the car. They even gave you after care instructions. The paint smell was pretty strong for about a week, which is to be expected. I would definitely take my car here for repair again, although I really hope I don't need to. read more

On September 11th 2018 my car was victim to unauthorized inappropriate touching while parked on the side of the road in our neighborhood. (It took me a year to get it fixed but I digress) I immediately reached out on Facebook and asked people where I should take it to get repaired. My friend Jordan and my Father both recommended this shop which is very high praise because both of them are very heavy car people and care about cost, appearance and accuracy of repairs for their vehicles. Kuroda at this time had already serviced -Our 2010 Prius when it got scraped at Costco -Our 2013 Dodge Challenger when it got scrached by a cat carrier. -Our 2019 Toyota Camry when. . .something poked it. . .to this day we don't know what that particular one was from. -Our 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma which was the. . .least. . .damaged vehicle when someone decided to YEET into 7 cars on the H2 at 80mph My Mazda and the Tacoma have been the most damaged of our family vehicles to come here, but as you can see from the pictures Kuroda's work is immaculate. From estimate to pickup they were fast, responsive and knowledgeable and with their email updates I was never in the dark on whay was happening which would be a godsend for longer, much more involved repairs. I could not have been more impressed with Kuroda Auto Body! I've only had to deal with 2 body shops in my life before, and the experience was, let's say, "unsatisfying" both times. Both places were in creepy locations with staff to match. What a relief when I opened the door at Kuroda--it was like being in a doctor's office, everything sparkling clean with decorations for the upcoming holiday and staff all neatly dressed and professional. Oh--and an actual PARKING LOT! The repair to my car--absolute perfection! I had knocked out the rear window glass and done small damage to the frame around it. When I got it back, it looked better than before the accident. It took me a few hours to realize that the car had been immaculately detailed as well. BONUS: They're so wired with Enterprise, they might as well have a branch in the office. SO EASY to pick up and drop off the rental car right there. I can't sing their praises loud enough. My car got rear-ended a couple of months ago and it was hard looking for a good body shop since I gave been to crappy ones in the past. Kuroda auto body was so nice and kept in contact throughout the whole process. They sent text updates the whole time that the car was in the shop letting me know of the progress which I really appreciated. The front office staff over all was nice and helpful. I did encounter one lady that was a bit sassy but other than that everyone was so nice and helpful. We had some issues with the car when we got it back. A spot wasn't buffed and the trunk had a slight alignment issue but they too it back as soon as the parts came in and got it fixed. Quick service was definitely appreciated. read more

From the start, the Folks @ Kuroda Autobody in Waipahu have been extremely professional and super nice! They took outstanding care of me throughout my ordeal. Setting up an appointment for assessment was a snap. Quick and to the point. Everything was explained to me in complete detail. Assessment, dropping off my car @ a later date, and able to secure a rental car on that same day @ the same location.. WOW, these folks ROCK!!!!! -- What I enjoyed the most was receiving text messages on the status (daily) of my vehicle. 30 minuted after dropping off my car. I received a text saying that my vehicle was checked into the shop, pre-repair scanned, that light cleaning and sanitizing of driver's area would be done. 4 hours later, received another text saying that my vehicle was assigned a technician and was tearing down my vehicle. Was also informed that if additional repairs, parts, and/or if completion date was adjusted that I would also be informed. Next text, about 2 hours later. Said that bodywork was in progress and that I would be kept updated. Next Day, was informed via text that the bodywork was complete and that my vehicle was in the paint department for prepping (bodywork leveled, primed, sealed) and painting (base coat, clear coat layers applied in paint booth) today. -- The very next day.. Received a text a little after 8am. Painting is done. Vehicle is being put back together. Still need to complete post-repair scan and overall vehicle inspection, and check vehicle functions. -- Then a little over 2 hours later. I received a phone call that my vehicle was ready for pick-up. I received a text about 5 minutes later saying that repairs were complete and my vehicle was ready for pick-up. "3 DAYS" -- When picking my vehicle a very nice woman came out to assist me. I didn't get her name but she was really sweet She told me that "Robert" would be coming out to look over car before he gave me back my key. He explained what was done like removing front bumper, removing headlamp, to remove the quarter panel. Driver's door was removed and disassembled (including window, electrical, and motors) repaired damages, prepped, sanded, painted and clear coated. Reassembled. Reattached door. Checked to see everything working properly. Was informed verbally and given paperwork regarding warranty on paint (for life of car if, I still own it) warranty on workmanship in the door if for some reason the window won't function, since they removed and disassembled/reassembled. Said, "Hopefully, we don't see you again!" Can't even tell where the damage was. Left front quarter panel and driver's door bent @ the pillar. -- My co-worker seriously regrets not looking around when he was backing up his car in a parking lot.
